JMAN05: An apostate. I don't want to discuss him. But he has a lot to say about you guys here on nairaland. Is there an ounce of truth to what he says? He has indisputable evidence, real documents. If what he says is untrue you owe it to society to refute his claims. Why is it that every Jehovah Witness wants to say nothing about him? Is the truth so fearful? 1. Who exactly are Jehovah Witness? What is the true core of who you are? 2. How did you guys evolve your own religious sect? Catholics too evolved a sect, so why are you guys against theirs? I have noticed your Bibles are something else. 3. Why are Jehovah Witness interpretations generally different from the regular Bible ones? This is not to say they are always wrong, but why that distinct dichotomy and excessive focus on paradise? 4. Why must Jehovah Witness bring up the issue of means of crucifixion? Is it a team grouse with the Bible or with other protestants? It's not a case with which to win over anybody. I particularly enjoy Jehovah Witness, but that emphasis on paradise and the inability of your proselytizers to step away from some aspects I see as dogma sort of repels me. In terms of character building, you guys are the best. Little kids in Jehovah Witness are better informed than adults in other Protestant sects. |

Boss13: Smile! You continue to depict how lowly you are. It is possible that your parents tried to do a good job with you but you derailed and I will not insult your parents, who are certainly not the same age category with mine. I am extremely glad to inform you have got a wrong mindset and a wrong mindset is a disease. I don't know you and I am not interested in knowing you, but you have a diseased mind that requires a psychologist. Why do I say so - You have never met me, neither have you met my father and not sure if he is alive or dead, but you are quick to insult someone you have never met before, never wronged you and someone you would probably will never meet. Such kind of person truly is sick and needs to see a doctor.
I can also tell you with verified facts that I am also not your age mate, do not belong in the same class with you, you likewise, do not have the same educational status with me nor belong to world-class professional associations nor well read or traveled than me. I do not say I am better than you because I don't believe one can be better than anyone, some of my workers are more skillful than me - but I believe I have and still living a privileged life, and all thanks to the sacrifices of my hardworking parents, who are now at peace with themselves, gave to me.
I will strongly advise you to look inward and do a self-assessment of yourself - what are those values you lack because it appears that you lack a lot of them. There is still time for you to help yourself out. Pardon, but you keep emphasizing your age and how "successful" you say you are and you talk about "class"and how "privileged" your life is and how "educated" you are. There is no point beating your chest here. From your first posts on this thread, you have been rather misogynistic and have given very demeaning posts to female commenters because of your perceived self importance. You believe you, and only you, have the only good woman in the world and that all others are gold diggers. I hope you extend this view to every single female you see, since the ones you don't know online are lumped together with the "types" you do not like. The reason you two are bickering online(despite your famous age and "class" and "privilege" is because you have not respected another person's view. You have tendered your opinionated views on women, branded them all persons of nothingness, and she had tendered hers too. If you're so educated and successful and privileged, why do you hold such a narrow view on something that people of the world should try to address? You should be open to know that you cannot, in the manner you have so far done, generalize the women of the world. You emphasize your age, do you wish for men to have such narrow views on your daughter? No offense. But all the attacks on the women who commented aresimply misogynistic. So no women who left men of bad character made it? |

Poliporpor: After an argument in church resulting from "call me mommy and I am older than you”, I have been having this curiosity, why are pastors now called “Daddy” and their wives “mummy?” personally, I do not believe that it is right to address a pastor as “Daddy”. Like pastor is not enough respect to someone who teaches the Bible? Jesus was called "Teacher" and not Daddy. Is there any bible verse to wrong my thought or are we now adopting our own style of Christianity? And why would a pastor even accept such a title when our father in heaven is also addressed as such? Don't mind them. All they want is servile followers. It's a form of pride in their circles that people respect them more than they do their own parents, that people have elevated them on that parental pedestal of adulation. Call them "daddy" and "mummy" to stroke their feelings of self importance. The title of pastor is never enough. Now they want to step into your families as the alpha and omega, as your father and mother. Why can't Nigerian pastors be professional for once? All they do is copy behaviors that they do not know it's origins. And the slaves who refer to them in this manner require mental servicing. Nobody would call them by those names if people were wiser. |

All this sophisticated bull about not eating animals will never work out because worldwide people eat whatever they can. |

Ranchhoddas: Larry Page and Sergey Brin(Not brothers though), Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg have an appearance of simplicity that stem from from their NATURE- they are techies/nerds. They will always appear 'simple' no matter how rich or poor they are. You should do a search of these people and see the kind of 'inanities' that these 'simple dressers' spend their money on. People derive their pleasures differently. My overall point is that we should not attack people who derive their own pleasures from 'dressing extravagantly' because a microscopic number of billionaires have decided to do otherwise; it has been the trend for the past few days and Nigerian celebrities are taking the most flak. I don't know much about Kate Middleton and I know that the Windsor family are not a billionaire family; they are millionaires at best. Dangote is always either on suit or that Hausa kind of dressing and there is nothing simple about any of that. You want make him wear chain? Why do you bother with them? Nigerians are sheep. So Mark came and then what? The world should progress by everybody wearing jeans and t-shirts? Because that's now the sign of wealth? How sure are we that his publicists haven't adviced him to be charismatic by appearing downtrodden in his annoying gray shirts? I'll bet people like that have never seen the rich kids of Instagram pages. When you have money, it's your choice how to use it in a flashy manner. Each to his own taste. How can you compare a dork like bill gates/zujerberg to people who grew up without tinkering day and night on computers because they were the uncool kids? Nigerians are sheep. Wadeoye: Is there anything militants can't do?
They can disguise that construction site as a legitimate business site whereas what they are doing there is militant training on how to detonate dynamites for pipeline vandalism. No be militants we are talking about here?
We have seen how explosives were diverted for pipeline bombing from a chemical company in delta state. I am sure the military have a reason for taking over the place. It may be more than land... FG might have seen some links connecting criminals together. OK. I see why you alleged that. Are we sure the chemicals were diverted, or conspirators were just doing their supply rounds? But it's a bit difficult to believe the militants would actually try that training right next to a military premises. That's rather foolhardy of them, if true. |

adanny01: Everything is wrong about blowing explosives around a military barracks. By default, they are supposed to be on alert. Having explosions around them makes them drop their guard or mental alertness to explosions. That makes them vulnerable to attacks.
I have been to the south south where shooting guns at burials is a norm. For me being there makes it very uncomfortable as where I come from, the sound of the gun means there is war on the street. If i expose myself to gun shots as a normal thing. It may be disastrous for me when the real trouble comes and am not prepared. Am sure if a burial is attacked in those areas, they will not have the chance to defend themselves. But how does this translate to pipeline vandals training on how to blow up pipelines? |

Wadeoye: Jonathan was reckless with power. He allocated military land to himself through his cousin. The enemies of the country should be chased away from the land and the useless construction company used to loot the country should shutdown immediately.
Can you imagine, these criminals using dynamites beside military barack to blast rock? The same dynamite they use to bomb pipelines. How are we sure that place is not their training ground for NDA on how to detonate dynamites? This would be funny if you didn't think you are somehow right about this. How does dynamiting a construction site suddenly become training for pipeline vandalism? When BH were dynamiting humans on land that they did not purchase through any means, you did not allege anything against them or call them criminals. Every administration, even this "saintly" one, is guilty of the same thing. The only difference is when people ( read you) decide to hate one and love the rest, even without truly knowing their objectives. |

Why is this some sort of news?
If it were a Nigerian being this strange, no Nigerian would work for him. It seems Nigerians love being slaves to Lebanese.
Lebanese this, Lebanese that. Indians this, Indians that. Arabs this, Arabs that. Even Chinese, rejects of true Caucasians, Chinese this, Chinese that. (All of the above are rejects of civilized Caucasian society, by the way)
Either you put him in his place or you keep complying. Most times the people working under him would have better fortunes if they had left.
And what is wrong with the money he makes? If he asks for it and it's increased for him, how is that anybody else's concern? Mr Kora is reaping the benefits of a free country with people who do not know their rights, and even if they did will not report him but only complain, not because they can't, but because that's just it.

emmydollars4life: I guess you did not understand op, better go and read and correct yourself, how can somebody visit you without letting you know that she is coming because she is an inlaw. Which country are you from? Would your mother need to book a visiting appointment to see you , as her only child who she has toiled for singlehandedly? The only reason you and the OP have issues with it is simply because it is your in-law in this scenario. The wife's mother obviously let her daughter know when she was coming, or didn't you read the part where he said she calls or at least let's them know when she's coming? He is simply angry because she comes frequently and since he has not bothered to get to know the woman, he sees her as a threat when she only has her daughter's best interests at heart. I don't see what is wrong with that. All Nigerian men just like to moan about being men of the house only when their in-laws come to visit, when in reality they are slobs and weak characters. I'm sure he tolerates friends showing up unannounced but makes a big deal of this, just like you. If you cannot handle in-laws, then do not get married. Or do you think your spouse fell from the stars and has no family life other than you? If he is distant from his family, good for him. But others aren't. Eg. His wife |

Freeloaders! But honestly, try to enjoy your extended family a bit. Some are downright unpleasant but try to like your mother in law since your spouse values get greatly. Why are Nigerians always at war with the in laws? Why do in-laws try to be as difficult as possible? And why do Nigerian men always complain about this? Your wife's mother and family are always intruders who invade your family, their mothers are always butting in, but yours are the saints that can come as they please. Is it only your mothers who sweated for you and deserve the best in life? |

Farmerforlife: Lol, mine is...
13. Just believe that Jesus died for your sins and you will go to heaven.
How am I just to believe? Based on what premise? If I just say "I believe" without backup evidence or a reliable source (which the Bible clearly isnt due to its total lack of credentials and established authorship, let alone its monumental errors amd contradictions) I am just being hypocritical. Would God be deceived by my outward belief? Would He then send me the 'Holy Spirit' to make me truly believe, because I previously pretended to believe?
14. "You cant understand (and thereby believe) the gospel of a risen Christ unless you are filled with the Holy Spirit, which you cannot be filled with until you understand (and believe) in the gospel of a risen Christ."
Ok! I give up!
15. God (or a part thereof) came down, sacrificed Himself by getting us to crucify Him, died (can God or His part do that?) and then rejoined the main part that sent the second part, after which they both jointly sent down a third part to teach mankind about the sacrifice of the second part (which was not really dead afterall, but alive), all in order to enable the whole 3 parts to forgive us from a sin incurred by an ancestor and to redeem us from punishment for that sin. The irony is that all 3 parts only thought of that 2000 years ago, while the original sin which needed forgiving had taken place at least 6000 years ago (Biblical literalists) or even millions of years ago (Biblical metaphorists), effectively dooming thousands of innocent earlier generations (from New Zealand to Alaska) to an absence of salvation, or to some arbitrary and unfair post mortem judgement, which no Christian has been able to explain adequately.
None of that makes sense, yet unbelievably, it is a summary of the central theme of Christianity... really.
16. Total reliance on miracles.
So you mentioned this earlier, but deserves another mention. When the Scripture Union craze first took over parts of Nigeria, the narrative was all about miracles; cancer cures, the lame walking, the blind seeing, the deaf hearing. I was invited to many such miracle working centers (some of which are multimillion Naira establishments of Mammon today) and I did attend every single one to which I was invited. I am certain and say with total confidence, that NOT ONE actual miracle took place. All I saw was self deceit and exaggerated testimony. Even if actual 'miracles' did occur, so? Babalawos work equally valid 'miracles'. So do Hindus, Buddhists, Satanists, and Chris Angel even supposedly walked on water! Why dont Christians accept the testimonies of all these as' men of God'?
All in all, I tried my best, but Christianity was too illogical for me. The 'wisdom of their god' was truly foolishness to me. Paul knew very well of the lack of logic in his proposition (maybe the less gullible people in his time had pointed out to him), so he tried to pre-empt disbelief by coining this phrase.
But my view is live and let live. I tend to tolerate even those who believe in an undetectable teapot orbiting the earth (a la 'prophet' Russel) and a flying monster made of spaggheti. Where do you get names to copy? This is getting out of hand. Stop it. For every atheist thread there are these mentions. Not interested! Update your name list to people who *want* to be mentioned or expect things to turn unfriendly. There are enough atheists to go round. Call those ones. |
