ignis: Nigeria is more of a reactive country than a proactive country.
What is NNPC petrol station doing very close to Residential and Commercial buildings ?
Secondly, A 3 digit or unique phone number of police and fire service should be at the finger tip of every Nigerians incase of emergency like this. In the states the number is 911.... In Nigeria what is the number ? If telecommunication companies can have such customer care numbers like 111, 180, 121 etc, why can't the security agencies have it?
15 minutes after the fire incidence started, people were busy forwarding broadcast on WhatsApp and other social media, even the op created the thread calling for attention of fire service.
We need to re strategise and get it right for once. May be you don't know, there is efficient and effective 112 emergency number in Nigeria, if you call the line with an emergency, they dispatch your case to appropriate agency to handle it instantly, I have a brother working in the Akure 112 emergency call center operated by NCC. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Should I Pay Tithe From My 20k Stimulus I Got From Government? by Temidayo9(m): 11:03am On Apr 19, 2020 |
madegreatbygrace: It seems some don’t understand the message jmoore is passing across. He is not against giving to God to advance the kingdom, he is against tithing being taught in churches as a law.
Giving should be taught in churches as a principle and not as a law.
Is it wrong to pay tithe? Many have asked that question and my reply has always been; is it wrong to give?
The major difference is MOTIVE. Under the new covenant, we don’t give because we want to be blessed. We give because we are already blessed in Christ Jesus. We don’t give out of obligation but out of love. To think God blesses you because you pay tithe is missing the point big time. It’s like saying God contradicts Himself in Matthew 5:45 ;
“That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” ~Matthew 5:45 KJV
So if God blesses unbelievers who don’t pay tithe, how much more His sons. The New Testament encourages us to give cheerfully and generously, and without compulsion. May God bless you with this insight and message. |

Opiletool: Not all. Some blind people are just lazy to develop that sense of theirs. I once watched a program on the TV, a blind black dude who plays basketball. He wasn't born blind, but had a sickness at a tender age so his eyeballs had to be completely removed. This guy hardly use walking stick. He skates on a major road in between parked cars and could detect incoming vehicles and which direction its coming from. He knows where a building ends and where another begins. If taken to a new environment, he would know everywhere after 1 or 2 outings. Noone helps him around the house, he runs upstairs swiftly like someone that can see. I believe his clip should be on YouTube. He uses frequencies, air, body heats, counting etc to know all these things. While I agree with you on this, but you can try to experiment it by blandfold yourself, and try to work around your street, I wish okada spare you when you try it. |

mfm04622: Totally blind people can do all normal sighted people can do except see! ALL! They don't seat in a place! I have seen many go anywhere they want with minimal assistance and live productive lives whoever that can do all normal thing is not blind totally. Blindness is a challenge. If you want to experiment it, just just blindfold yourself and move to a new place and try to do something normal. |

EzzyCarter: When one sense gets impaired especially the sense of sight, the other senses become sharper. It's the body's natural way of ensuring survival. Visually impaired ppl usually have a stronger sense of smell, sharper ears and their sixth sense is sharper too that's how the girl was able to sense what you had on ur mind also there are various degrees of blindness, some partially blind, and they could see faintly. Totally blind people tend to sit in one place. |
