The question of why God allows evil and suffering is one of the oldest questions in human history. But let us be honest, the fact that God does not stop every tragedy does not automatically mean He does not exist or he can't protect his people or that the miracles recorded in the Bible never happened.

The Bible itself records the suffering and persecution of God's people. John the Baptist was beheaded, Stephen was stoned to death, and James was killed by the sword (Acts 12:2 these are just few examples ). All these happened to faithful men of God. Did their deaths mean God had abandoned them? Certainly not.

Even God allowed Jesus to die on the cross. These examples remind Christians that suffering is part of the human experience and that everyone, regardless of their nation or faith, has a cross to bear.

Faith does not mean that believers will never experience tragedy. It means trusting God even when we do not have all the answers to some questions. Christianity does not teach that every faithful person will be physically protected from every evil. That is why we pray daily in the Lord's Prayer, "Deliver us from evil."

However, questioning why God allows innocent people to suffer is a legitimate question, and nobody should dismiss the pain of families who have lost loved ones to terrorism.

Not having a complete answer to why God permits suffering is not the same as proving that God does not exist or that He cannot protect His people. He knows all things, His ways is beyond human understanding, and His ways are unquestionable. God is able, absolutely able, to defend His people, even when we do not understand why He allows certain things to happen.

God does miracles and we know it. But He does them at His own will. God has also saved many people from death and we call it miraculous.
