What is the essence of having not guilty until proven innocent in the law when nobody follows it?

If I be soldier, I am ending any bandit I encounter. I am not giving anyone a chance to repent.

This is an insult and a big slap on the faces of the soldiers, their wives, kids, parents, siblings and friends.
You'll be detained if you do that.

Omo, Whites vs Blacks in America is like Aiye vs Eiye.

Zimmerman kills Trayvon. Karmelo Anthony knifes Metcalfe. I expect tensions to heat to the max sometime around 2058 when there is no longer a clear Racial majority in the US and we just might witness another Civil War.

The foundations of that country is built above the embers of deep burning hatred that still persists till this day.
All these stuff intensified during the Obama presidency. Before Obama things were not at this dimension.

What 2million naira could buy in 1999, you need 70 million to buy it now.

I was shocked by how useless the naira has become and the level of inflation.

These so called pastors and prophets that predict the day people will die and the people really die on said date, and their followers insist such death is not coincidence, I think it is time for the FG to invite them to predict how things will go for the Nigerian economy and how to solve crimes, if they cannot predict it they should be jailed for life.

I agree with Soludo. These charlatans have no place in a sane society.

If Tinubu was serious he should've made Wike defense minister. I think the ministry of defence is a better fit for him (Wike) than FCT ministry.

I don't know why most of these politicians still don't respect Obi. Someone that polled over 6m votes nationally, meanwhile most of them polled less than 300k votes to become governors, senators and whatever they are or were.

In life it's how you carry yourself that people use to rate you sha. Obi dey use himself play na why dem dey use am play.

Northern states would have money(budget) to sponsor mass wedding of over 2000 couples, there's one of 3000 couples expected soon in Kano..

And I ask, if person no get rubbers to take marry, how e wn take dey train pikin? Abi government go marry wife for man, still instruct am make e no dey lash him woman? You see ordinary shoemaker with seven kids and e still dey eye second wife..

It all comes down to government at all levels..See money that northern governors spend on Hajj and public marriages and it's like x10 of what they spend on education, health, industrialization..
They have money to spend on hajj and mass weddings, but they can't lift their people from extreme poverty.

If them explain Nigeria give you and you understand you don craze walahi.

The kind of things always happening in the North will never make sense to a rational mind.
People no get funds you dey sponsor marriage give them.

Nigerians think getting married or having children is a joke. No planning.

Misplaced priorities is the bane of this country.

Kaczynski:
Nigeria has the national counter terrorism strategy, the multinational joint task force, the safe schools initiative all fine on paper. But paper doesn’t stop bullets.

Here’s what would work if they actually executed it, Boko Haram’s funding comes from ransom, looting and shadowy sponsors. Freeze their accounts, track their cash like a forensic auditor and prosecute the financiers. Nigeria’s banking system is about as transparent as a black box recorder in a plane crash. The Nigerian military is a joke. Corruption, poor training, soldiers selling their weapons to the enemy. You need better leadership, better pay, better equipment. But good luck getting the brass to stop embezzling funds. You need real human intelligence not just SIGINT that gets ignored because some general is too busy siphoning off oil money. Embed agents, infiltrate cells and act before attacks happen. But Nigeria’s intelligence agencies are about as leaky as a sieve. They should learn from French intelligence community.

Boko Haram thrives because of disillusionment. You need to give locals a reason to resist them everything from jobs and education. A kid with a PS5 won't join Boko haram. Nigeria’s government is about as good at this as a goldfish running a marathon.
I don't know if it's just me but this looks like something lifted from chatgpt and co.

Also, I tell people, the older you get, I'd say over 40, the slimmer/ lighter you should get because your bones can't support as much weight as we get older. Once you are at 40, start making intentional effort to maintain a very healthy weight and that comes down to what and how you eat/ drink. The slimmer/ lighter, the better at or over 40 for men.
In Nigeria, If you get slim people start thinking you're hungry or abusing drugs/alcohol.

Fat= wealth.
Slim= extreme sapa, or drug/alcohol abuse.

What does she mean by miscommunication?

She even made a follow-up video to the first one I posted and in that followup she alleged that they were told if they want to arrange for transportation themselves (as the deceased family), the army said all his benefits will be forfeited..More like the army will wash it hands off the guy's matter.

So she's saying the initial claim was false and the follow up video too was false?

If anybody is threatening her and her family she had better talk.... If not she will be branded a liar for life
Knowing the Nigerian Army, they've probably threatened her or bribed her with crumbs.

Is it that people are getting more diagnozed than before

Maybe say in years back, people were having this disease but they do not have the means to diagnoze am correctly and they will just put it under died after a brief illness

Or something has changed about our way of life compared to before which exposes us to cancer risk than before

I think maybe a combination of the 2 factors
Probably.

The rate people are dying to breast cancer in this country is something else.

What is happening? lately all these illnesses that we hardly heard about like 15-20 years ago, are now devastating everywhere in Nigeria.

[quote author=BlueRayDick post=139670053]When Elder talks about not really understanding the rationale behind young men still joining the army, it looks as if he's denigrating the memories of those young men fighting on the front lines to keep us safe.

However, on deeper reflection one can't but wonder what is really that thing motivating our bright young people to join the army in the corrupt state it is with selfish corrupt superiors heading our military.

The lady in the video below came online to reveal her brother recently died in active combat as a soldier and the army authorities are asking their family to pay N2m as cost of transporting his corpse to the family compound where they intend to bury him. To think their father was also a soldier before he died. And now they are being treated this way

I mean why will my father be a soldier and I will still join Nigerian army in its current state? From the environment of their home, it even shows their father didn't make much from his career as a soldier, so why did the son also join the job only to lose his life in such tragic way?

It now looks as if the male in their family just dey sacrifice their lives for naija wey no really care about them.

I always say, there's no reason any sane person should join the Nigerian army.

Especially those people joining as normal recruits.
Pure waste of life. But then again, which life? The ones joining as recruits are already failures in life, so they have no other option. The guy the lady is talking about probably joined as a normal recruit.

DSS has alerted Edo State government of potential mass kidnap of school children by Fulani terrorists.

The Edo state government in reaction has ordered immediate closure of government owned schools in the affected area. The students currently writing WAEC in the schools will however be allowed to write exams under strict security arrangements.

Omo! No be life we dey live for this country so o. Things has gotten to a point where students can't go to school like it's done in other countries.
What were you expecting?
The man promised to bring insecurity to the state during campaign and Edo folks still elected him.

Population of Lagos - 20m

1% of 20m is 200,000
5% of 20m is 1m

Google says there are 7,200 dollar millionaires in the whole Nigeria

Let's assume there are even 20,000 since politicians and civil servants hide stolen loot

I will posit that $1m makes you top 0.1% in Lagos
This is good insight. This is why statistics is very important.
People in Lagos are too loud that is why it seems like $1m will not make you top 1%.

Thanks for this bro.

I don think 2.2m Nigerians have over 1bn Naira. 2.2 bn is the population of a state

If I say Billionaire in Naira equals Dollar millionaire

According to my quick AI search

Top African Countries by Number of US-Dollar Millionaires
Rank Country Approx. Number of Millionaires
1 South Africa ~37,400
2 Egypt ~15,600
3 Nigeria ~8,200
4 Kenya ~7,200
5 Morocco ~6,800

If I say Nigerians worth $700k and above I think around 50,000 still a far cry from 2.2m

100M is a lot of money in Nigerian context when you consider the whole country, 100M might be water in Banana Island, but some states dey wey dem no go get reach 100 people resident there with 100m
Fact. 50,000 is a far cry sef in my opinion. I doubt there are up to 50k people living in Nigeria who have $700k.

Millionaire in what currency
Depends on location too sha.

$1m will likely make you top 5% in Lagos and Abuja but definitely not top 1%, but in places like Delta, Bayelsa, Edo, Akwa Ibom etc, you're comfortably in the top 1% if you have $1m.

Normal. How they address someone wearing a quality senator and someone wearing casual jeans and sneakers will obviously be different.

If they stop you, and you're wearing casual wears, and also in all these cars that are mostly used by fraudsters, they must delay you. This is mostly a Benz and Lexus problem.

The annoying part is that there is no court order, just wake up once day and bulldoze someone's house. I mean, even if there is an existing law, there has to be a process for the application of the law. Our lack of strong institutions is a big problem for this country. We are just winging this thing called Nigeria at this point.

Kim Kardashian must be a demon under the sheets cause how else does she keep bagging these male celebrities. So Lewis Hamilton can't find someone younger to date it's an old hag like Kim.
There's a certain level people get to, and they stop caring about these things, so don't assume they're dating her because of how she perform during sex.
