It's the same reason I haven't married yet. I made a vow to myself to get my first car before marrying to avoid jumping buses and Keke with my beautiful wife. Let me suffer alone than suffer with wife and kids. It'll be too painful and will add a lot of pressure on my life. It's better to eat once a day as a single man than with your wife and children. No good woman or unborn child deserves to suffer that way. God willing I'll get that car soon. It's not for pride or luxury, but a necessity and for some little respect.

I have two houses that if I wanted to sell them, I'd get up to 60m for both, and that is if I'm desperate. I also have a car which cannot be considered a poor man's car anywhere in Africa, but marriage is far from my mind, it's the least of my concerns.

If some people had only 50% of what I have they would've rushed into marriage since, but to me these things are just bare minimum. I'm still very far from where I want to be.

I just don't get the unnecessary obsession our society has with marriage and having kids.

When some of us say if you're not financially secure 100% don't enter marriage or raise kids, it looks like we are end timers or irresponsible.

Car is a necessity for a family, how can you be trekking with your wife and kids.
