izzou: This is obviously the part that Larride should be referring to.
The Itsekiri have made Warri their own property, when they have less than 50% as theirs. Majority of Warri is still for the Urhobos, but Itsekiri parades their ruler as the head of Warri. It's really crazy. |

izzou: Remove Isoko from your list.
How will the others unite against Urhobos without going against themselves?
Maybe they are not doing out of altruism, but compared to others, they have been better Ijaws and itsekiri don't even like themselves like that. They're just tolerating each other. |

livelongprospa: What are you saying? Why then did the ijaws not wipe them during the crisis? Why not consider that the isokos won't go against them? The only problem Urhobo people have is the fight between their men and women. But when it comes to peaceful coexistence, those guys have been far too kind to the point they've allowed the influence of olu of warri extend way beyond his boundary. The itshekiri part of warri that the olu of "warri" presides over is less than 30% sef. 70% of warri belongs to Urhobo, and yet the ruler of only 30% bears olu of "warri". |

Ibime: Why won't they be very fair
They are only majority in Delta but very small compared to Igbos and Ijaws nationally so they have to move with sense. And they are not even that outsized compared to the others. Any combination of Anioma, Ijaw, Itsekiri, Isoko will outnumber them. So they are not doing it out of altruism. Isoko and Urhobo are literally the same people. Classifying them differently was a mistake. There might be little difference in the language just like abia and ebonyi igbo are a little bit different but still igbo. If urhobos and isokos collabo they can pull off what ikwerres are doing in rivers state and just rotate major leadership positions among themselves and nothing will happen. They can elect themselves continuously without the other tribes. The urhobos have been fair, don't mistake it for weakness, attributing this to ijaws having more population nationally is funny and unnecessary boisterousness. What will the ijaws in bayelsa or rivers do if the ijaws in Delta are systematically excluded from all positions in Delta? Nothing. This was how you guys were making noise about the fubara and wike situation now your wings have been clipped once more. E go hard for any ijaw person to smell governorship for rivers state again. |

Roland17: You are 100% correct.
Bulk implies he shoulders a bigger share of the responsibility. It has made it easy for some of his supporters to use words like "delegate" to shift the blame or drag others alongside his failure with securing the country. Buck on the other hands leaves no room for him nor his supporters to defer, shift or drag others along.
Again, I am unsure if it was intentional or a misuse/ misspelling of the word "Buck". Knowing the person involved here, it could've been intentional. I've to admit that the Tinubu of 12 years ago was extremely smart and sly. |

Don't get me wrong, bulk works just fine but has a different implication in comparison to buck. Bulk give room for excuse, but "buck" mean the president has no excuse at all. I could be wrong, but this is my own interpretation of the issue without looking at Google. |

The North neglected developing their states an right now, the children they refused to develop has made sure those in the South cannot sleep because human will always move t prosperous areas HDI will always trump GDP and other development indexes. No matter how high the GDP of a country is if the citizens aren't developed it's all a waste. See mexico with high GDP but extremely poor HDI. Same issue with African countries. Disstroy always talked about this back in the day. I rate HDI more than GDP and GNI. |

We saw it happen when yaradua reversed major policies made during the obj administration, which assuming those policies were left in place, Nigeria's trajectory might have been different compared to now. That is the problem we have at the federal level and in most states, lack of continuity. That is why Lagos has an edge over every other state because almost every gov has to follow the same blueprint. If we had that at the federal level, shit might've been different. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by TemporaryHansel(m): 6:29pm On Jun 01 |
Theflint1: Blaming Lord Lugard for all or 90% of the woes that the Nigerian state suffer today is simplistic.
Yes, the zoo should sooner be balkanized, but Lord Lugard is not why states as large as most countries in Europe and that share a similar identity can't come together to agree on a path forward for their states.
Lord Lugard is not why we have a D7 governor in Edo State, nor is he responsible for the years of misgovernance that the state has suffered. If there cannot be an elite consensus at state-level on how to make life better for the majority today and generations down the road, then we have a bigger problem than Lord Lugard who almagamated Nigeria over 100 years ago. Both of you are right, two truths can coexist.. Lord lugard fvcked up by joining different tribes that previously had nothing in common together but Lord lugard isn't the cause of the current mess Nigeria is in. Lord Lugard didn't tell voters in Anambra to sell their votes for #2500 and malt during the governorship election in Anambra last year, neither did he tell edo people to elect a stark illiterate as governor. Even if Nigeria is balkanized, there's a possibility of the emerging countries becoming failed states within a decade or two. Infact that possibility is over 60%. Look at Catalonia in Spain, if they're allowed to go, everyone knows they'll be prosperous because they've shown workings and the ability, but none of these Nigerian states/region have shown that they'll be able to do anything different when they're on their own. It's still massive looting and focus on misplaced priorities that will continue to be the order of the day. |

They should compete with inter switch instead of trying to bring interswitch down. Interswitch flew so these ones could walk. They delivered Nigerians when no one else would, no Nigerian government will be stupid enough to implement such lopsided demands. If their offerings are better, customers will choose them over interswitch systems. You can't force people to use your platform. |

nihilistjnr: Well, that's the game that has to be played even by good actors. Which makes it worse when bad actors like Tinubu get into the system The structure does not incentivise continuity, does not incentivise nation building, does not incentivise long term planning, and does not incentivise finding like minded partners.
It starts with north Vs south, Christian Vs Muslim, then sub-regional rotation. Obi's travails are the perfect microcosm of the irredeemable flaws of the system - at some point Obi was even promising to do only ONE term to try and garner support NOT with the electorate but within the political system.
There's no hope It's a tragedy. Nigeria can never move forward due to these factors. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by TemporaryHansel(m): 11:33am On Jun 01 |
nihilistjnr: Again India is 80% Hindu - speaking the same language, having the same culture, and the same religion. The ethnicities that wanted to go left. Pakistan left India, and then Bangladesh left Pakistan. Sri Lanka was carved out before them.
You cannot hold leaders accountable when the primary driver for leaders actions is political survival in a representative democracy.
Leaders cannot even form parties with ideals because the first thing required to get into power is to get numbers. That's why we have so many alphabets in our political space and why many politicians have moved between almost all the parties and why Obi has tried to get presidential ticket in two different parties in a year, after contesting for tickets in 2 other parties in the last election cycle.
The system is the primary problem. It is like 90% of the problem in my opinion sef. One thing we always agree on other than Nigeria should be divided, is that Peter Obi is a fraud. I wonder if his supporters are under voodoo. Someone that was arresting protesters and failed to pay pensions and salaries during his time as governor. The agulu fraudster will never become president of this country. |

Let's give Tinubu more time. I believe his policies are what Nigeria needs. They'll be better for the country in the long run.
To be fair, there are certain policies that takes decades to start showing effect, if we can hold on, the gains will be tremendous. When Mao started his reforms in China the general populace hated him for it, today those policies have borne fruit. Nigeria was running a heavy deficit before Tinubu came onboard. |

Now I don't agree with this North and South business either but for the sake of parity that's the best arrangement for now.
The issue is why is he contesting in a period that should be the South's turn. This is the same guy that betrayed GEJ and allowed this APC monster to clutch to power to begin with. And for that alone I would rather Tinubu win than for Atiku to smell Aso Rock
He has never fought fair and his selfishness I find off putting.
