Where are those miscreants insulting and abusing Wike, see now Wike has outlived those ingrate in PDP. Wike is undoubtedly the Greatest politician in Southern Nigerian after Asiwaju |
gidgiddy:But our strength is in out diversity, we see ourselves as different people with our destiny. When GEJ was in power, or running for presidency, the Ogoni man saw it as the burden of his brother gave all in support, the bini man saw it as his kingsman. How come a people more diverse are more united than the big for nothing tribes. |
So finally Atiku succeeded in killing PDP |
descarado:But you were among the people abusing Wike for opposing Atiku’s selfishness |
After servingb8 years as a Rivers Governor, it's difficult for such person to goto senate. The right position for any outgoing Rivers Gov Is the presidency. Odili viled for president Amaechi and Wike did same. Faber: |
Amaechi, Wike renew supremacy battle in RiversPublished on March 17, 2023By Ifunanya Obeme-Ndukwe As the governorship and State House of Assembly elections hold tomorrow, Saturday, some residents of Rivers State are cut in between the line on who to vote for, especially for the position of Governor. Some observers hold the opinion that the governorship and the state Assembly candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party are likely to win. They believe Governor Nyesom Wike’s influence will give a landslide victory to his party, the PDP. The PDP had won 90% of the National Assembly seats in the state, including the 3 Senatorial districts and 9 House of Representatives seats. The Labour Party won 1 House of Representatives seat and the All Progressives Congress won 1 seat at the House. Two constituencies are yet to be announced. The PDP has, however, been accused of hijacking the process of the February 25 election. The Labour Party in the state had claimed that they won the presidential election in the state, as well as most of the National Assembly seats, but their mandate was allegedly stolen by the PDP. For the March 18 election, it is widely speculated that the APC and the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in the state, have great interest in the elections, despite not showing much interest in the presidential and National Assembly elections. The Labour Party is also not left out as some “Obidients” have vowed to vote for LP from top to bottom, as a revenge for what happened in the February 25 election. Meanwhile, some residents of the state have promised to follow through with Governor Wike’s alleged directive during the presidential election, to vote for the APC. Wike is believed to have worked for the presidential candidate of the APC, now president-elect, Bola Tinubu, to make him remove his interest in APC winning Rivers governorship election. Tinubu is reportedly caught in the middle on who to support among the guber candidate of his party, which is the APC, Patrick Tonye-Cole, the guber candidate of the SDP, which is his longtime ally, Magnus Abe or the guber candidate of the PDP, Siminalaye Fubara, whose boss (Wike), allegedly worked for his victory in the state. Tensions are high in the state as various political parties, especially the APC and the SDP, have vowed that the PDP will not hijack the electoral process like they supposedly did with the presidential and the National Assembly elections. The guber candidate of the Labour Party, Beatrice Itubo is also gathering momentum, as the electorates and the Obidients are gearing towards her. The support for her candidacy increased after the former state chairman of LP in Rivers state, Dienye Pepple, as well as the state executives of the party, publicly endorsed the guber candidate of the PDP. Their decision, they said, was hinged on the fact that, “they want to support a candidate that can win the election.” They also accused their party’s guber candidate of being, “unserious and unready to run an election.” As for the candidate of the SDP, Abe, he has been endorsed by several groups in the state, including the Igbo community, of which the leadership have come out to refute. He also has a large number of followers and has been described as, “a grassroots politician.” He worked with the previous administration, where he served as Secretary to the State Government. Abe is also said to have a stronghold in his area, which is the Ogoni axis. The candidate of the PDP is said to also have a great chance. This is because Governor Wike has managed to poach some influential leaders of the APC and SDP in the state to join his camp. He has equally had meetings with several groups and sectors, to woo them to vote for his party’s candidate. A week ago, he went as far as promising to employ 10,000 youths in the state, promotion of civil servants, an employment scheme and promotion of several persons. However, this strategy may have won some people to the side of the strategic Governor. The candidate of the APC, Tonye-Cole, had earlier gathered some level of support from the people, after the presidential and National Assembly elections. Some electorates described him as, “the best man for the job.” But this did not last, as he allegedly posted a congratulatory message to the president-elect, Tinubu on his Facebook page. However, some people, despite the congratulatory message, have decided to vote for him, because of his experiences. The physical campaign of former Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has also helped him gather support from people who are not in tandem with Wike’s style of leadership. Amaechi has been vigorously campaigning for the APC candidate in what could be seen as a renewal of the supremacy battle between him (Amaechi) and Wike. People are also expecting some guber candidates from the Kalabari extraction, where Tonye-Cole is from, to step down for him, as the many candidates from the Oceania LGA’s, will mar the possibility of a Kalabari Governor. The guber candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Tonye Ibraye, as well as his Deputy, Tonto Dike are the first to step down. It is uncertain if others, including Dumo Lulu-Briggs of Accord, Dawari George of Action Alliance and Sogbomabo Jackrich of National Rescue Movement, will step down for Tonye-Cole. Tension is high, as many fear of possible violence in the Saturday’s election in the state. The candidates of the APC, LP, PDP and SDP, all stand a good chance of winning the election. It is quite difficult to say who is likely to win as the race in the state is too close to call. https://dailypost.ng/2023/03/17/guber-polls-amaechi-wike-renew-supremacy-battle-in-rivers/

Lionize:You don't know anything. Amaechi won't be able to deliver his own LGA to APC. Dont worry nxt week you people will learn to respect Wike. |
Eluupee people are are still pained. Manifacturing useless post to console themselves. Wike worked for Tinubu and He won. Wike is a happy man, he was able to dictate and participate with the winning team. ASIWAJU is a promise keeper, whatever he promised the good people of Rivers State he will fulfill it. On Saturday 18th March, Wike will once again frustrate the evil machinations of his IPOP youth in Rivers State. |
You guys should forget, ASIWAJU is a political strategist there's no how in the world world a defragmented opposition could win a party in Power. SadiqBabaSani: |

It is the turn of the SS to produce the next Senate President. |
Like my Governor Wike, all I wanted was the return of power to the SOUTH. Atiku was too arrogant and selfish, hence he lost the election. Obi did very well more than expected, but I am not convinced he won the election. Everyone should shield his/her sword and support the incoming president to move Nigeria Forward. |
All I know is that Neither LP nor PDP won this Election. |
PDP, LP are just wasting their time, there is no way a defragmented party can win a presidential election. ASIWAJU has retired ATIKU politically. BAT is the WINNER of 2023 presidential Trophy. |

Ibim Semenitari, a former commissioner for information in Rivers, says the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state does not manipulate election results. Semenitari, director, new media, PDP campaign council for the Rivers governorship election, decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP in November 2022. Responding to allegations of electoral manipulation in Rivers following the February 25 elections, Semenitari on Saturday said the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are a true reflection of what took place at the polling units. “We are a responsible party. We will not do any such thing,” she said. “We need everyone in Rivers state to win the elections so how can we be involved in anything that will affect their rights? “The voters are the only strength we have and we need them on our side, now more than ever. “Numbers announced by INEC tally with the result sheets as captured by vigilant voters. “In two polling units monitored in Elelenwo stronghold of the PDP but where large turnouts of non-regular voters were recorded Peter Obi’s win was duly recorded on the INEC server despite initial disagreements by voters who thought the non-functioning of the IREC would disenfranchise them. “The same was noticed in polling units in PHA LGA, Okrika LGA, Opobo/Nkoro, Andoni and other LGAs monitored by reporters and independent observers. “Such substantial compliance may indeed absolve the INEC team in Rivers state of the claims of manipulation of results. I think it is important that we allow fact over opinion.” The former commissioner added that results uploaded in her polling units “were a true reflection of what took place”. The conduct of the presidential and national assembly elections in Rivers, among other states, has come under scrutiny. Pat Utomi, professor of political economy, has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to review the presidential election results in 10 states. Utomi is the convener of BIG-TENT, a coalition of political parties, social movements, and civil society organisations (CSOs) in support of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP). He listed the states as Lagos, Rivers, Imo, Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Katsina, Adamawa, and Akwa Ibom. https://www.thecable.ng/rivers-results-announced-by-inec-reflect-votes-of-the-people-says-ibim-semenitari/amp

Let him loose and go back to Dubai, he could not unify PDP, he is too arrogant to be a politician, being a notherner does not guarantee you victory when contesting with a Southerner. I will be the happiest man to see him being retired politically. |

Underestimate Wike at your own peril, Wike has the Biggest Political structures in Rivers State and his Foot soldiers are in Millions, Atiku's boys are inconsequential, Wike' signature is in every door post in the State. Wike is only fighting for Power to return to the SOUTH hence he is supporting BAT whom he feels needs just a little push to Coast to Victory. |
post=120912434:You should understand that Ikwerre has 4 local government with over 40% of Rivers votes. Wike is honored in Ikwerre Land and Rivers at large. When Asiwaju wins as the president, Ezenwo Wike will emerge as one the greatest politician in Modern Nigeria and the political leader of Rivers State in decades to come. |
Stop deceiving your self , Atiku isn't winning anything . Think9ja: |

There's nothing special about this It's only ACN and CPC meger in 2015 that brought Buhari a Northern candidate to power. It's idiotic for Southerners to feel that the north are too powerful. |
This same ATIKU that said the North Doesn't need a Yoruba or Ibo president, A Vote for Atiku is a Vote for Headsmen continuity. I pity the foolish Southerners supporting Atiku, it's an imbalance for a Fulani to take over from a Fulani. It's either Obi or Tinubu nothing more nothing less. BAT is more politically advanced than Atiku, no matter the conspiracy against him he will overcome. He proved himself during the primaries, he defeated the overated cabal, he defeated the anointed candidate, he defeated even the Northern Choice. Wike is a First Class Governor being the Governor of Rivers State, he stood as the only vocal Governor and the voice of the Opposition throughout the 8years of Buhari maladministration. He has pinned his tent with Jagaban to anihiliate Atiku's political career and there is no going back. A hero stands and fights for his people. The Battle Line has been drawn, there is no going back. |

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) yesterday asked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to stop playing politics with the new Naira policy and the challenges Nigerians face in accessing the new notes. In a similar diatribe, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike yesterday called for the rejection of any candidate in the coming elections supporting the economic crisis caused by the shoddy implementation of the naira redesign. Alhaji Yerima Shettima, the National President of the AYCF, in a statement in Lagos, deplored Atiku’s comments that the CBN should not grant further extension of the deadline for the naira swap. Shettima said that it was wrong of the PDP to oppose the opinion of many Nigerians, including the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, National Assembly and others, in favour of further extension of the deadline on old notes by the CBN. He said: “Former VP Atiku’s call was out of place because it is coming on the heels of growing complaint about the kind of sabotage that is causing untold hardship to Nigerians over this policy. “Atiku stands alone in his call on the CBN not to review the deadline. “He is against prominent Nigerians who made passionate appeal for deadline review, notably the sultan of Sokoto, the Senate and House of Representatives leaders and experts. “What purpose will the current difficulties people are facing serve Atiku? Why would he rather identify with the need to let the difficulties faced by especially rural folks continue and for how long?” Shettima said that the group was in support of extension of deadline for the cash swap policy due to difficulties citizens were currently experiencing. “We are of course aware that the economy has suffered heavy avoidable bruises,” he said. According to him, it will be suicidal for this nation to consider any advice against a review of the CBN cash swap deadline. He said that for any policy to succeed, it must have a human face, “and we believe the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, won’t turn against overwhelming public interest”. The AYCF boss advised PDP not to turn the policy “into a weapon of political manipulation or political attention-seeking opportunity. “We advise the ex-VP to concentrate on his presidential campaigns by showcasing what he has done to merit the votes of Nigerians and stop playing politics with our economic policies and associated challenges. “We thought the ex-VP would tell Nigerians what he has to offer in fighting inflation and weak national currency,” he added. Reject candidate in support of Naira redesign policy execution, says Wike In a veiled reference to the Atiku statement, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike yesterday called for the rejection of any candidate in the coming elections supporting the economic crisis caused by the shoddy implementation of the naira redesign. Wike said the electorate should vote against any such candidate. The governor spoke during a campaign in the Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of the state. He also warned the brains behind the alleged plot to scuttle the elections to desist, and said no to any form of interim government. He said any candidate supporting the confusion caused by the poor implementation of the naira swap must be an enemy of Nigerians. He wondered why any candidate should back a policy execution that has already plunged the people into inexplicable economic hardship on account of non-availability of the old and new naira notes. Said he: “Anybody who claims he loves Nigeria and is contesting election but is supporting this CBN policy, will you people vote for such person? “It is only the enemies of Nigeria that are supporting this anti-people policy. I believe President Muhammadu Buhari was not properly briefed about this policy.” Continuing, he said: “The primary target of this policy is to provoke Nigerians to embark on civil disturbance, which they will capitalise on to say they cannot conduct election and push for enthronement of an interim government. “No matter the provocation, I urge everyone to be calm. This election must hold because nothing will stop an Opobo man from becoming governor.” Challenging a former Minister of Transport, Dr. Abiye Sekibo, on integrity, Wike urged the former minister to explain why former President Olusegun Obasanjo sacked him from his cabinet. He said as a man of integrity, he served as a minister under President Goodluck Jonathan and resigned honourably to contest governorship election and won. He described the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, as dependable and loyal. He enjoined Opobo people not to undermine their opportunity to produce the next governor of the state. Sir Siminialayi Fubara restated his promise that he would never betray the confidence reposed in him to fly the party’s gubernatorial flag. In his speech, Senator Adawari Pepple expressed gratitude to Governor Wike for deeming it necessary to support their son to become the PDP flag bearer for governorship. The APC Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC) had earlier branded Atiku Nigeria’s public enemy number one over his position on further extension of the February10 deadline. The APC-PCC said in a statement on Friday by its Director of Media and Publicity, Mr.Bayo Onanuga, that the former vice president was working hand in hand with saboteurs and fifth columnists among the operators of Money Deposit Banks and oil marketers to inflict avoidable hardship on innocent Nigerians. Onanuga said: “The current sabotage of the naira notes swap and fuel scarcity that have caused untold hardship to millions of Nigerians across the country revealed the true character of Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as public enemy number one. “Nigerians will recall that since the Central Bank introduced its current cash-limit and new naira notes swap policies, Atiku Abubakar and PDP maintained opportunistic silence with the hope that they will benefit from the discomfort the policies will create for Nigerians and the resentment they will generate for the ruling APC. “While Atiku and PDP were in bed with the saboteurs and fifth columnists among the operators of Money Deposit Banks and oil marketers who created the current logjam to force the outcome of the February 25 presidential election in favour of the former Vice President, our candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu courageously pitched his tent with the poor masses who have been most negatively impacted by the antics of these evil doers. “Having realised they have lost the initiative and their antics exposed to Nigerians by Asiwaju Tinubu at the APC Presidential Campaign rally in Abeokuta, Atiku made a half-hearted appeal to CBN to ‘slightly’ extend the deadline for the currency swap.” The campaign council however wondered why the PDP flag bearer called on the apex bank not to extend the February 10 deadline in the face of the hardship being suffered by the people. “We are currently at a loss to understand what informed the current call of Atiku on CBN not to extend the February 10 deadline despite the unmitigated hardship still being faced by many Nigerians who could not meet their basic daily needs as a result of lack of cash from banks and the empty ATM machines. “Anyone who lives in Nigeria and not Dubai and visits banks and ATM locations will feel sad that the CBN is making our people suffer for its badly timed Naira swap policy. “The bank’s latest fire brigade approach in approving payment of N20,000 at the counter is far from offering relief as queues are still long, agony and frustrations widening, an invitation to riots. “This poorly implemented policy has turned Nigerians into destitute because they cannot access their own money in their bank accounts. “People cannot get money to give their kids to school or pay for daily needs at corner shops, fruit shops, including buying newspapers. Transactions in market places have plummeted.” The APC-PCC recalled the statement made by CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele last weekend in Daura, Katsina State, that out of the N3.3 trillion in circulation, only N500 billion is in the bank vaults, and added: “So far only N1.9trillion had been received by the banks for swap. “But people are not getting the new notes to spend, thus triggering the huge anger in the land against Emefiele. “We thus find it ludicrous that a man who joined the call for an extension of the deadline last week is championing a new campaign against further extension because he feels the suffering of Nigerians will serve his own political end to become president at all cost. “Atiku said callously: ‘There should be no further postponement of the new naira regime after the expiration of the February 10 deadline.’ “Anchoring his objection on the wrong reason, he said further: ‘The CBN and the Presidency should be steadfast. The merits of the new naira policy far outweigh the little inconvenience we are experiencing.’ “In passing off the suffering of our people as ‘little inconvenience’, Atiku only comes across as a political leader disconnected from the Nigerian people that he is campaigning to govern. Certainly, living comfortably in Dubai for many years has drained Atiku of all empathy. “This is a man who wants to be President and does not mind even if he presides over the graves of Nigerians as long as his inordinate ambition materializes in line with the prophecy of his marabouts. “It is crystal clear to every Nigerian of conscience now that Atiku Abubakar and PDP do not mean well for our country. “PDP and Atiku have become desperadoes who will wish calamity on the country as long as it makes them win an election they are destined to lose spectacularly. “Atiku is now public enemy number one in Nigeria. He is evil personified and must be rejected at the polls on 25 February. “If Atiku Abubakar has the poor people of our country at heart like Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the PDP candidate will not be advocating for adherence to a policy that has become a burden too heavy to bear for our people.” https://thenationonlineng.net/new-naira-atiku-still-under-attack-for-opposing-extension-of-february-10-deadline/
