PoliticsAyu Withdraws All PDP Cases Against Opposition Parties In Rivers by Terabyteck(op): 5:11pm On Feb 04, 2023
The Dr. Iyorchia Ayu-led national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has withdrawn the appeals filed against the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Accord in Rivers State. The development occurred few days after the national leadership replaced lawyers appointed by Governor Nyesom Wike to handle such cases.

When the matter was mentioned for hearing at the Appeal Court in Port Harcourt on Friday, lawyer to the Accord, Abdulhamid Mohammed told the court that he received an application from the PDP for the withdrawal of the appeal. His statement was confirmed by the State Legal Adviser for the PDP, Kingsley Chukwu. Mohammed later prayed the court to dismiss the case.

A three-man panel of the appeal led by Justice Joseph Ekiye granted the prayer and dismissed the PDP’s appeal. Lawyer to the Accord, Mohammed, who spoke outside the Court, said they were in court for the hearing but was confronted with the withdrawal. He said: “We came to court for the hearing of the appeal, but then we were confronted with a notice to withdraw filed by the appellant. They filed the appeal, and they have the option to withdraw.

“We told the court that we are not opposed to their application for the withdrawal. But we now urged the court to dismiss the appeal, because we have changed brief and then the matter adjourned for hearing. So, it is like a runaway battle.
That was what happened and the appeals were all dismissed based on their own application and our own application to dismiss the appeal.”

PoliticsRivers Knows Our Chosen Presidential Candidate- Wike by Terabyteck(op): 9:15pm On Feb 01, 2023
Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has clarified he will not make a public show of his preferred presidential candidate, insisting Rivers people have been notified of his choice.

The Governor spoke on Wednesday at Elekahia where the Rivers PDP inaugurated its campaign for Port Harcourt Capital City.

The Governor in a dramatic fashion, for over five times, asked the crowd of Port Harcourt residents, who gathered to witness the campaign kick-off in the city: “Are you not already aware of our preferred presidential candidate?”

We are aware,” the crowd thundered in multiple replies implying that they would carry out the Governor’s directive.

Wike, who lambasted a former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dakuku Peterside, said there was no time he said he would speak publicly about his preferred candidate.

Addressing Dakuku, he said: “Look at this small boy whom I flogged in 2015, I don’t know where they said he comes from whether Abia or Opobo, I flogged him in 2015, he thought they would give him the ticket in 2019, he didn’t get.

“You have the guts to tell me to name my presidential candidate. Are we at the same level? Failure and success are they the same? Look at a man who is always failing every day.

“Let me also tell him. He doesn’t understand the activities of the G5. I have told most people that this fight we are fighting is like guerrilla warfare. The more you look the less you see.

“I never told anybody one day that I will bring the camera and announce to you, this is where we will go. I said I would tell Rivers people the candidate they would support. I didn’t tell you the method of saying it. I didn’t tell you I will bring live coverage and say it. But Rivers people know. Is it not correct? Are you not aware? Have we not said it?”

PoliticsPolitical Earthquake Hits Delta, As Pdp’s Premier Group, DUG, Declares For APC by Terabyteck(op): 1:12pm On Jan 23, 2023
… this is the tsunami I promised, Omo-Agege tells Deltans.

A political earthquake has hit Delta State as the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, mainstream wing, Delta Unity Group, DUG, today declared for the All Progressives Congress, APC, with a commitment to vote all candidates of the party in the 2023 general elections.

The DUG is renowned as the strategic and “intellectual “ arm of the Delta PDP.

The group previously coalesced around Olorogun David Edevbie, former Delta Governor, Chief James Ibori’s choice for Delta state governor; a choice that was rebuffed by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in favour of controversial and unpopular House Speaker, Sheriff Oborevwori.

At a Special Declaration Rally, Sunday, January 22, at the St George’s College, Obinomba, thousands of DUG members donning their signature red shirts and hats declared formally for the APC.

They were led by its chairman, three-time member of the House of Representatives, Daniel Reyenieju; ex-house speakers, Chief Monday Igbuya and Olisa Imegwu, among others,

Speaking, Reyenieju said the DUG was founded and created to support the best candidate of the PDP, but when the best could not be presented, “we went round the state for a man who could do the modernization programme of David Edevbie.

“And (we) found that capacity in the person of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege. Galvanizing that find outside would be meaningless, hence we decided to join the APC.

“We will show PDP pepper. We can’t continue like this, we can’t have a President that will sell all our assets, we can’t have a vice president that will continue to borrow money with nothing to show.

“All the money they borrowed and kept away will turn to fertilizers in their farms.”

Former House Speaker, Igbuya, recalled that when Governor Okowa came on board with him as Speaker, “he complained that the debt burden incurred by former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan was so heavy.

“He cut all our entitlements; that there was no money. Now the debt he has incurred in eight years will be difficult to pay back in a life time.”

Also speaking, Chief Evans Iwurie, a prominent DUG leader and former Delta Assembly member, said Governor Okowa, by his incompetence, has become an embarrassment to Delta State, Nigeria and the medical profession, assuring that with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as governor, Delta State will regain its pride again.

An obviously elated Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy Senate President and Delta APC Governorship candidate, said he was in awe, but not surprised by the development.

“But frankly speaking, who would have believed, two years ago, that the people who made things happen in the PDP would “tear the umbrella” and join the APC?

“We have always made the case that Delta State under Governor Okowa is not the State we inherited from our parents.

“Look around, no roads. Schools and health facilities are in very poor condition. Retirees are dying, and their gratuities and pensions unpaid. Yet Governor Okowa wants to secure a third term through his stooge, Oborevwori.

“Good news is that come February 25 and March 11, we have all it takes to chase him and PDP away.

“With the APC force and reinforcement from DUG, which is two thirds of Delta PDP, we can effortlessly defeat Governor Okowa and his remnants in the PDP.

“This is now a liberation movement. Come out and chase Okowa, Atiku and PDP away.”

Senator Omo-Agege assured the DUG decampees that he will ensure just and equitable governance when elected governor.

“We will be fair to all, no senatorial district will be discriminated against, what Okowa refused to do we will do.

“We will apply our resources judiciously and equitably. Poor healthcare will be addressed, and the facilities and quality of education in our schools will be improved.

for what they do.”

State Chairman of the APC, Elder Omeni Sobotie, said when Chief James Ibori was governor, nobody left the PDP, but under Okowa, greed and pride destroyed the party.

Said he: “To my decampees, APC is your home, you shall not regret it. You are going be integrated into all the facets of the party from unit to national level.

“We will expand our campaign council to reflect our new reality. Some will serve at the state and others at the national level”

Director-General of the Delta APC Campaign Council, Elder Godsday Orubebe, celebrated the leadership of the DUG for joining in the effort to salvage Delta state at a most critical moment.

He noted that governance collapsed in Delta when Chief Ibori left as governor, and that the state is yet to recover.

On his part, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, said his dream for APC to take over Delta State is coming to pass.

“We had some problems, we were fighting against each other, but God took that problem and gave it to PDP. God has divided PDP to three parts and brought two thirds of it to join the APC.”

The DUG
Among leadership of the DUG that decamped were: Daníel Reyenieyu, former three-term House of Reps member; Mercy Almona-Isei, former House of Reps member; Monday Igbuya, former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly; Olise Imegwu, former Speaker and former House of Reps member, and Chief Judith Enamuotor, former Commissioner and Board of trustee, BOT, member of PDP.

Others included Alaowe Timi Tonye, former State Assembly member; Dr Karo Ilolo, former Commissioner Urban Renewal; Chief Faith Majemite, former Ethiope East council Chairman; Chiefs Stanley Odali and Pius Ovbije; Evans Iwurie, Felix Ndukwe, Comrade Mike Akpobire, Chief Florence Akpoibo, Ejifeoma Esere, Comrade Ingo Isaiah Tam and Dr. Sebastian Agbefe.

The haphazard manner Wike is fritting away Rivers state resources that would have paid civil servants and pensioners their unpaid dues is why they have decided to vote for Jagaban Tinubu and Tonye Cole for President and Governor respectively, to recover all Rivers money in Sokoto, Benue, Abia, Cross River and the ill-fated PDP convention in Abuja. PoliticsOrtom: Why G-5 Governors Can’t Join Atiku Campaign by Terabyteck(op): 2:16am On Jan 20, 2023
Governors in the G-5 group cannot join the campaign of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar because the leadership of the PDP has made reconciliation impossible.

Benue Governor Samuel Ortom who disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday accused the PDP leadership of arrogance, impunity and mischief in the handling of the rift between Atiku and the G-5.

The Governors have demanded the replacement of the PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu with another person from the South as condition to support Atiku.

Ortom, who spoke with newsmen in Abuja, said: “So, no efforts by the leadership of our party have been able to address the issues that we are raising. They have not been able to adopt methods that will pacify and placate the G5, you know. This is not right. So, on the G5, that is where we are.

“Arrogance, impunity, mischief, will not really help matters. One would expect humility; it is said that you stoop down to conquer even if you want to make it.”

The Benue Governor expressed disappointment with some PDP leaders in the South who chickened out on the demand for power shift to the South.

“I must say that I am disappointed with some of our PDP southern governors who chickened out, who sold out and chose to do something else.

“In the APC, all the governors in the North allowed for power shift even when they have a majority. I must commend them for fighting for equity, fairness and justice, because they considered that the presidency should go to the south.

“We (G-5) are committed to issues of integrity, issues of fairness, equity, and justice,” Ortom added.

The Governor said the G-5 remained on course and will not back down on its demands, stressing that they have given the PDP leadership ample time to address the issues at stake.

Continuing, the Benue Governor said: “I think we are on course as far as I am concerned with our group. As faithful party men, we have given enough time. And we are told that the failed leadership at the national level will take advantage of the opportunity we have given them to address those issues.

“There are many ways of addressing issues even when you are not able to meet the demands of a group or individuals, you will find a way of meeting.

“And then you find a meeting place where people decide to be arrogant, where they decide to be mischievous, and do things as if the other person does not exist and try to do some things with impunity, as if they have won election and they don’t need any other person. It becomes a problem.”

PoliticsElections: Big Brother Naija Titan Is A Distraction, Shun The Show – Obi’s Labou by Terabyteck(op): 10:52am On Jan 12, 2023
The Labour Party (LP), has warned Nigerian youths against the new reality show, Big Brother Naija tagged:’The Titans’, saying it was a distraction to them.

Dr Yunusa Tanko, the Chief Spokesperson of the LP presidential Campaign Committee, (LP-PCC), stated this during a press briefing in Enugu, on Wednesday.

According to him, it is targeted at distracting them from casting their votes on the election dates.

Tanko alleged that the reality show was being sponsored by one of the major opposition parties, to distract the youths from voting for their choice of candidate. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the television programme is designed to hit the airwaves by Jan. 15 barely 40 days before the general elections.

Tanko said, “The essence of this press conference is to alert the ever vibrant Nigerian youths of the hidden agenda behind the new reality show tagged: “The Titans”.

“We have credible information that it’s being sponsored by one of the major opposition parties to distract the Nigerian youths from changing the leadership that has placed them in perilous times laced with abject poverty,” he said.

He stressed that the information made available to them revealed that the son of one of the presidential candidates in active collaboration with others visited South Africa to hatch this plan.

“As a party with the sole aim of turning our dear country into a place where poverty, unemployment, ‘japa’ will be seen as a taboo is being threatened by an opposition that hates the Nigerian youths with passion.

“Big Titan or whatever they may call it will distract the youths from taking what belongs to them now.

“The Big Brother Naija ended not long ago, why the ‘Titans’ now that we are facing a major election that will determine the future of the Nigerian youths,” he queried.

Tanko said that the reality show now was laced with a lot of unforeseen dangers for the youths because their attention would be divided.

“As a party we are not against reality shows because it helps the Nigerian youths to break the poverty line but for now, for the common good of all it should be shifted to another convenient date.

“This should be after the general elections must have been concluded.

“Those putting together a reality show at this time when we are counting days to the general elections are enemies of the Nigerian youths and by extension all well-meaning Nigerians,” Tanko said.

He said the question Nigerians should be asking the organisers was whether they were truly friends of the political entity known as Nigeria or enemies of progress.

The LP-PCC spokesperson further said the reality show was concocted and designed by a major opposition political party stressing that at the right time, they would unmask them to the Nigerian youths.

PoliticsWike Doles Out N50m To Anglican Cathedral by Terabyteck(op): 10:29pm On Jan 08, 2023

January 8, 2023

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has donated N50million to the All Saint’s Cathedral Church of the Anglican Communion, Rumuokwurusi Town in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.
The governor, in a statement by his Special Assistant, Media, Kelvin Ebiri, said the donation was to support missions and other sundry work at the cathedral.

The governor also described as sad that most people did not appreciate the role men of the Nigeria Armed Forces continued to play in ensuring peace and unity in the country.

The governor spoke at the cathedral where the thanksgiving and interdenominational church service organised in commemoration of 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebrations held on Sunday.

Wike observed that each year the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebrations would begin with the emblem launch.

He said after the launch, crests were usually made available, but lamented that most Nigerians failed to attach importance to the crest

Wike said pinning such crests on shirts won daily served as a mark of honour and a way of identifying with the men and officers of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

He said refusing to wear them was an indication of a lack of appreciation of the sacrifices the officers had made in fighting to curtail insurrection, secession, crime and all forms of criminality that threaten the peace that makes a healthy country.

Wike reiterated his stance on the need for the Federal Government to establish a standing welfare fund, from which money could be used to cater for the families of fallen heroes and war veterans that had defended the territorial integrity of Nigeria.

The service was used to offer prayers for men and officers of the Nigeria Armed Forces, unity within families of the citizenry, peace, justice and economic advancement in Rivers State and Nigeria, and greater grace of God upon governor Wike.

In his sermon, the Vicar of All Saint’s Cathedral of the Anglican Church in Rumuokwurusi, Venerable Alex Usifoh urged the congregation to conduct their affairs in a manner that would leave positive impact in their work places, communities and at the state level.

He noted the valuable sacrifices made by the fallen heroes and war veterans who served, giving up their comfort while fighting against insurrection and secession attempts in order to keep Nigeria united, and in peace.

Usifoh urged Nigerians to continue to support families of the war veterans like governor Wike had always done in appreciation of the sacrifices made.

PoliticsEXCLUSIVE: PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku, Sick, Flown To London From Dubai F by Terabyteck(op): 10:14pm On Jan 08, 2023
SaharaReporters exclusively learnt on Sunday that Atiku was flown from Dubai, United Arab Emirates to the UK.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, is sick and has been flown to London, United Kingdom for treatment.

SaharaReporters exclusively learnt on Sunday that Atiku was flown from Dubai, United Arab Emirates to the UK.

This comes less than two months before the presidential election which is scheduled to hold on February 25, 2023.

“Atiku is not feeling fine; he is in the hospital receiving treatment,” a PDP Presidential Campaign Council source told SaharaReporters on Sunday.

“That’s why he is not back in Nigeria for the presidential campaign. He was in Dubai but has now left Dubai for London for treatment. He has been flown to the UK for treatment. That is why he is still abroad.”

However, SaharaReporters could not confirm the nature of Atiku's ailment.

Last year, Atiku also visited Europe and at the conclusion of his European trip, the PDP presidential candidate visited Dubai.

The trip came about three weeks after Atiku met with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in London.

A statement issued by Paul Ibe, his media adviser said the trip was a continuation of an earlier business trip made three weeks earlier.

“He will be travelling immediately after his meeting on Friday in Lagos, with the leadership of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) alongside the PDP vice presidential candidate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta,” the statement reads.

“Today’s trip is in continuation of an earlier business trip of three weeks ago.

“At the conclusion of his European trip, the former Vice President will also use the opportunity to visit his family in Dubai.

“His trip is for business and family purposes and has nothing to do with medicals as being insinuated in some quarters.”

Atiku is known for spending most of his time in Dubai. For instance, he left for Dubai after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Muhammadu Buhari the winner of the 2019 presidential election.

The PDP presidential candidate was absent at the pre-Atiku Freedom March press conference held for him at the state Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Iyaganku, Ibadan, last Tuesday.

The press briefing was jointly addressed by a former Minister of Federal Capital Territory (State), Jumoke Akinjide; former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Wole Oyelese; former Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, and another PDP chieftain, Engineer Femi Babalola.

The Freedom March was held last Wednesday in Ibadan, the state capital.

In July 2022, Atiku reacted to a viral social media video suggesting he was ill, saying that he was in good health.

A viral video showed Atiku limping during his return to Nigeria ahead of the Osun State governorship election.

But his media aide, Ibe, dismissed claims, saying nothing was further from the truth.

A statement issued by Ibe read in part: “Our attention has been drawn to a report and a video in a section of the media purporting to be of an “ailing” Atiku Abubakar being helped strapped to his car seatbelt by an aide.”

“Nothing can be further from the truth. For the records, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is in robust good health.”

“We would not ordinarily have responded to this mischief, but for the impression that it will create in the minds of Nigerians, which is exactly the objective of the purveyors of this fake news.

“We wish to state that Atiku is not averse to scrutiny because of the consequential nature of the 2023 elections. However, it is our position that such scrutiny must not be predicated on a slash and burn rogue journalism as is the case with this contrived report.”

Also in October 2022, the spokesperson for the PDP Presidential Campaign Management Committee, Dino Melaye, released a video showing Atiku dining in Europe to dispel reports that his principal was ill.

Atiku had flown out of Nigeria amid the campaign for the 2023 presidential election.

In a tweet, a former aviation minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, earlier alleged that Atiku collapsed after arriving in Abuja from his rally in Kaduna State.

He said Atiku was flown to Paris, France for medical care after complaining of pain all over his body.

“After his outing in Kaduna yesterday @atiku fell ill. He complained of dizzy spells & severe pains in his head & all over his body throughout the flight to Abuja. After landing at Abuja airport he collapsed. He was flown to Paris for medical attention immediately. God be with him. For the purposes of damage control they took pictures of him with others the following morning from Paris but please do not be fooled.

“There is something very wrong with the PDP presidential candidate in terms of his health & they don’t want the Nigerian public to know. Pray for him,” he wrote.

But Melaye countered Fani-Kayode, saying, “See person wey dem say he de hospital. This place look like hospital? Him de here de chop him food, de relax, de enjoy himself, holding meetings and you say….mehn! God go help people wey.. stomach infrastructure na problem oo, hunger na problem oo, make God provide for our needs ok.”

Fani-Kayode is the Director of New Media of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.

Politics2023: I Feel Empty Without Wike, Others On PDP Campaign – Gov Emmanuel by Terabyteck(op): 10:16am On Dec 24, 2022
The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, said he feels “empty” that the five Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors who are members of the G5 have not been part of the party’s presidential campaign.

Mr Emmanuel is the chairperson of the PDP presidential campaign council.

“You turn around on a campaign platform, you don’t see them, (and) suddenly you will feel you need them. These are people you started together, I think I still feel empty that we are all not together on a campaign platform,” Mr Emmanuel told reporters on Thursday in Uyo after a meeting with Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State who visited him.

The transcript of what Messrs Emmanuel and Ortom told reporters is posted on the Akwa Ibom State Government Facebook page.

Mr Ortom is a member of the G5, which is led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

Other governors who are members of the group are Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Seyi Makinde (Oyo).

The group, formed shortly after the PDP presidential primary in May, has so far refused to support the party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The G5 had in November, in Abia State, said they would support a southern presidential candidate for the 2023 election, a decision they said was in line with the agreement reached in the southern governors’ forum that Nigeria’s presidency should come to the south in 2023.

Governor Wike has promised to disclose by January the candidate he would support for president.

The group has been demanding the resignation of the PDP National Chairperson, Iyorchia Ayu, to pave the way for a southerner to lead the party for the sake of achieving a “regional balance”.

‘We are ready to make peace’

Mr Emmanuel said the PDP leadership was open for peace with the G5.
“We are ready to make peace and I can assure our party that these are governors who have structures, and something to show, these are governors who have capacity.

“We will do everything possible to put the house together on the 2023 campaigns, but when it comes to governance we are still as intact as ever,” Mr Emmanuel said.
Governor Ortom told reporters that the G5 governors were still with the PDP. He, however, expressed displeasure with the leadership of the party over its management of the crisis.
“We were not happy with the national leadership of our party as it had not been able to deploy its conflict resolution mechanism internally to solve the problems, the grievances that we have.

“Governor Udom is one of us, he is a governor like the rest of us and in politics, dialogue is key towards resolving conflicts and problems that may arise as a result of conventions or congresses,” he said.

“We have never said we have turned our back on dialogue and reconciliation. If the terms are met, why not. We will work if it fits in our own interest.”

PoliticsRe: Pictures From APC Solidarity Rally In Jigawa State For Tinubu/Shettima by Terabyteck(m): 9:00am On Dec 03, 2022
I am not a Tinubu's fan but he has won my admiration, I will vote for Obi to clear my conscience for equity justice and the hope for a better Nigeria.

But truth is I see Tinubu defeating Atiku.
Atiku believes because he is a northerner that alone will give him victory. But something bigger is coming and Power must return to the South.

seguntijan:
Asiwaju Is Working Again Like He Is The Underdog.

When Akeredolu was asked about the 2023 presidential race, he said that they await the return of the Capo de Tutti.

Fashola also said that we should wait for him to speak.

Then on January 10, 2022, Tinubu went to the presidential villa and informed the president of his intention to run. ‘I have the capacity, the competence to rule’. You can’t forget that.

That made him the first in his party to formally make his interest known.

And immediately after that, he started a broad based national consultations, the kind that we have never seen before in a party’s presidential primary.

Tinubu did not sleep!

He was the most popular man in the party after the president who isn’t running yet he worked like he’s the least known.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu left no stone unturned in his elaborate nationwide consultations right from that January 10.

While others were dragging to declare, Tinubu was already on the field working and working very hard. Before they could finally declare, Asiwaju already had over 50% of the delegates either adhoc or statutory on his side.

He was not waiting to be imposed.

That was never in his plan.

Some ministers did not want to resign even after declaring which was against the new Electoral Law until the president held a meeting with them and asked those who were interested in running to resign. And even after that meeting, it was only Nwajuiba that resigned almost immediately. Others wanted to eat their cake and still have it. Chris Ngige in particular became a joke.

Amaechi also wanted to run but he was not open enough. He said that he wanted to hold a thanksgiving service at Adokie Ameisemaka stadium only to turn the thanksgiving to his presidential declaration. And for the second time, I was disappointed in him. I was disappointed because I did not understand why he was not truthful enough to call it his presidential contest declaration in the first instance. I received many calls on Oshiomole attending the declaration but my reply to the callers was that Amaechi invited him for a thanksgiving and Oshiomole honoured the invitation so if he changed it to a declaration, he was only deceiving himself.

The declaration by Ahmad Lawan was an afterthought. He had earlier told Tinubu that there was no need for him to come and inform them at the National Assembly that he was running because he already had their full support.

The vice president wanted to run but he was not bold enough to throw in the hat. He called his supporters sponsored speculators for promoting his ambition. He said that it’s all rumours but he later declared one night after we’d all gone to bed.

As all these and many more were going on, Tinubu had gotten more converts to his side.

And we saw how his hardwork paid off.

The same scenario is playing out going to the general election.

He won his party’s ticket in June and immediately he got it, he started consultations for the general election too. He has only taken 10 days off in London since then.

His party drew a campaign timetable which they have been following and any time that there’s a review, it is announced.

Tinubu has met with the business community that had in attendance Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Jim Ovia, Tony Elumelu, Herbert Wigwe etc.

He went to Minna to meet with representatives on Nigerian farmers.

He also met with the solid mineral community and miners and investors in Lafia.

He was at Owerri and had a town hall meeting with leaders of private sector and organized trade associations.

He has also met with the Christian Association of Nigeria in Abuja.

Between Dec 4 and 12, he will be abroad for international engagements.

On Dec 2, he is billed to meet with the organised private sector in Lagos and on Dec 21, he would have a meeting with the creative art practitioners.

I did not list the Kaduna town hall meeting with Arewa leaders because he did not arrange it, he was an invitee like other candidates. So there was no oversight.

Who has Atiku, his major challenger met?

A man who sows cassava will not reap agbado.

PoliticsWike Launches Fresh Attacks On Niger Delta Govs Over 13 Derivative Arrears by Terabyteck(op): 11:01pm On Dec 01, 2022
Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has sustained his attack against his Niger Delta counterparts over the 13 percent derivation arrears paid by the Federal Government.
The Governor told them to dedicate three weeks to project inaugurations as he had done instead of criticising him for commending President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said some were hiding under some groups such as Akwa Ibom Professionals and Ijaw Professionals to insult him and called on them to stop behaving like cowards and come out openly.

Speaking while inaugurating the first ever road to Rumuodogo communities in Emohua Local Government Area, Wike said some of his critics were spending four years to execute one project.

Wike said he would never spend such number of years for one project insisting that he had never done a project for more than a year and half.

The Governor said he expected his colleagues to join him and thank President Muhammadu Buhari for releasing the money instead of attacking him, describing some of them as small people.

The Governor boasted that whereas some of his colleagues were made governors by their godfathers, he had no godfather and was able to defeat a sitting governor.

Wike said: “What is my crime today in the Niger Delta states? I said God thank President Buhari for giving me money to do this road. Did I commit any offence. I don’t know the offence that I committed for saying thank you.

“Let me tell those who are making noise. Whether you are a governor I don’t care. Whoever you are I don’t care. I came to run as a governor of Rivers. No governor said I want to put you as a governor. I came on my own. We defeated the sitting governor. Some governors were brought by their godfathers. I never had a godfather to bring me as a governor. The only godfather I had was God and the people of Rivers State.

“So, when some governors are talking they should know those they are talking with. We are not on the same level. We can’t be on the same level. Let these small people keep quiet. If you are not prepared for governance, give up. I am prepared for governance. I will prepare till I leave.

“I am not a fan of Buhari. I am not one of those who go to Abuja to see them. But the truth must be told. When somebody had done well in an aspect, you say so. No matter how you hate me, won’t you give me the credit that I did Rumuodogo road?

“Even if you don’t like Buhari and I say he released money I am using to do something, is anything wrong in that? Some people are not grateful in life, even when you help them they can never be grateful. I will continue to be grateful. People open their mouth and say three kilometre road in their state is more than how many flyovers in Rivers.

“Rivers is a Niger Delta state. It has riverine and land areas. I don’t know who can claim they are more riverine than Rivers State. I didn’t tell you to give account. All I say is thank Buhari. What I expected them to do is to join me and thank Buhari. Now they are saying we receive this and that. What’s my business. If you say you have more water do the ones you have water let us see.

“I have never done any project more than a year and half. I challenge anybody. I can tell you the contractors doing job in this state. Name the ones doing jobs in your state. Do your own, not to do one project for four years. I will never do any project for four years.

“People have been sending their people to insult me and I laugh. Some people they call them Akwa Ibom professionals. They were insulting me. I say tell the man who sent you to come out. We are not kids. I am waiting for you. Some people say Ijaw professionals, you sending them come out. It is you I am looking for. Not all these fries.

“That we are doing 12 flyovers, did I ask you not to do? I am not doing only roads. Go and see what we have done in the health sector. See what we are doing in Yenagoa Law School. We put over N5bn to recover that school in the South south. When they gave us a licence we built our own law school campus within 10 months.

“I challenge any state to commission projects in three weeks everyday. So, what are you talking about? I am not running an election. I don’t need to be a sycophant. But the truth must be told at all times. If you want to face Wike come and face me. I have the capacity and I have told them to be careful.

“I have never gone to a meeting with anybody in life and we agree on something and I abandon it. I am not a betrayer. It is not in my blood. Tell them to face their problems. We started inauguration on November 14. We will end tomorrow. By Monday we will start flagging off new projects. I will pepper them. The politics today is not to talk but operation show your report card”.

The Rivers governor said he started inaugurating projects to shame his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, who on May 27th 2015 said he would not have money to pay salaries much less executing projects.

He said: “You know why we are commissioning these projects; you remember in May 27th 2015 our brother who was a governor on his birthday while he was leaving office told us that there was no way we would get money to pay pensioners and gratuities not to talk of doing projects.

“We say God you must show that you are God. God in his infinite mercy showed the love he has for this state. He did not only provide money just to pay salaries, pensioners and their gratuities. He has provided money to do this road.

“God gave him all the money, yet he refused to do this road. He thinks that Rumuodogo people will still be backward. God said no the time has come for people to remember Rumuodogo people.

“Why should I not be happy. The man took the position of God, as far as he is concerned you cannot be anything. But the almighty God says who are you? God used somebody to bring that money”.

PoliticsAmaechi: Delegates Who Sold Votes At APC Presidential Primary Are Regretting by Terabyteck(op): 12:44pm On Jul 25, 2022
The former minister said the prayer should be for Nigerians to vote for the right person to govern the country.

“I don’t believe that is the solution to Nigeria’s problem — giving money. I hope you know. I give you N10 million now and when it finishes, what happens? The solution to Nigeria’s problem is that all of you must rise,” he said.

“God should save the ordinary Nigerian, because they are the problem. Those who voted at the APC primary, who are they? The ordinary Nigerian. The small money they got solved their immediate problems.

“Now ‘oh we made a mistake’; ‘we didn’t make a mistake’. We are hearing different things. Pray for the leadership of the country, but also pray that ordinary Nigerians choose the right person to govern.”

He also spoke on the recent concerns raised over the identity of the clerics that attended the unveiling of Kashim Shettima as the APC vice-presidential candidate.

According to the former minister, the persons in questions are Christians.

“Those bishops you saw [Kashim Shettima’s unveiling ceremony], they may not be bishops, but they are Christians,” he said.

PoliticsHow Hope Uzodinma Hijacked Peter Obi’s Labour Party In Imo — By Jacob Okoli by Terabyteck(op): 4:27pm On Jul 07, 2022
Most people in Imo State despise Governor Hope Uzodinma. They have also rejected his APC and whatever the party represents. Some in Imo, especially on the social media, now tend to promote Labour Party because of Peter Obi’s oratory. But there is a very danger ahead. They all might be unknowingly working for the very same APC and Hope Uzodinma. This is the painful truth. Read this piece very carefully.

As soon as Peter Obi’s movement began to gather some following, Uzodinma and the APC began to plot against it. They were quick to spot that Peter Obi had no presence at the grassroots. Beyond the social media hysteria by some youths, there was nothing anywhere that could be described as political structure of Peter Obi or Labour Party. It was then time to strike. What did Uzodinma do? The answer will shock you.

First, Uzodinma doled out the sum of Three Hundred Million Naira (N300,000,000) to Senator Osita Izunaso to do some hatchet job for him. That hatchet job was to get one of the APC senatorial aspirants in Orlu Zone named Charles Ahize to defect from APC to Labour Party. This was accomplished. Charles Ahize, also known as Charlie Akpuruka, soon became the senatorial candidate of Labour Party in Orlu.

All those who know Charles Ahize will easily remember that the Ihioma-born notorious car dealer has earned a living through such sleazy dealings. Recall his involvement in the infamous case of the ousted Chairman of the EFCC, Farida Waziri. That is why his name is “Akpuruka” and he is proud of his notoriety.

So, immediately Uzodinma took over the structure of Labour in Orlu Zone through his proxy, Charlie Akpuruka, the next was Okigwe Zone. Uzodinma then detailed another APC member and his trusted ally, Chikwem Onuoha, to move into Labour Party. This was done stealthily. All the Labour Party tickets in Okigwe Zone, from Senate down to House of Assembly, were bought over by Chikwem Onuoha on the directive of Uzodinma. Further, loyal members Uzodinma’s camp were fielded as candidates and party executives in Okigwe Zone. Chikwem Onuoha himself took the ticket for House of Representatives. In this way, just like Orlu Zone, Okigwe structure of Labour Party became securely and firmly captured by Hope Uzodinma.

In Owerri Zone, a new twist occurred. The incumbent Senator, Ezenwa Onyewuchi, who was defeated in PDP went and negotiated with the National Leadership of Labour Party and took the party’s ticket for Senate. But Uzodinma, who has a very serious plot, was not relenting. He immediately noticed that Senator Onyewuchi would not be loyal to him and might not play the role expected of him at the appropriate time, so he needed to shop for an influential figure in APC to move into Labour Party to take the structure and leadership from the incumbent Senator.

For that purpose, Chief Martin Agbaso was sent from APC to Labour Party and given Seventy Million Naira (N70,000,000) for the assignment.
As all these were happening, Ohanaeze Ndigbo was not left out. The factional leaders of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths who are from Imo State were until few months ago in the APC and loyal to Hope Uzodinma. They were both moved into Labour Party, with one usurping the microphone of Peter Obi’s Support Groups to announce himself as the Spokesperson of the Groups. All these were in the bid to ensure that Peter Obi’s entire ground force is taken over, emasculated and used for the roles which will be dictated by Uzodinma at the right time.

One of the Ohanaeze Youth Leaders even last week prematurely began to attack Hope Uzodinma’s perceived political foes in Imo State, hiding under Peter Obi’s cover. He was however called to order by a Commissioner in Uzodinma’s government, who reminded the impatient hatchet man that the time for his assignment had not begun. He then paused. On Arise Television this morning, Peter Obi said his team has been infiltrated by enemies who attack people just to destroy his project. Obi was exactly referring to the Imo experience. The foregoing also made Governor David Umahi to dissociate himself from Ohanaeze and to declare openly that Ohanaeze is no longer working for Igbo interest.

Umahi is aware that even the scripts being churned out by Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership in its pretentious support for Peter Obi are written in Odenigbo Hall in Imo State Government House, which serves as Office of President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Amb. George Obiozor.

A major revelation was made who Bola Ahmed Tinubu became the presidential candidate of the APC. Uzodinma who until then was rooting for Senator Ahmad Lawan, made a volte face and went to Tinubu to pledge his support. In that meeting, Uzodinma did two things, according to an insider in Tinubu’s camp. First, he instantly donated One Million Dollars (1,000,000 USD) to support the presidential bid of Tinubu. Secondly, he assured Tinubu that he had infiltrated Peter Obi’s camp in Imo and taken it over. He made a strong vow that he would not only extend the infiltration to the other states of the South East, but that he would also collapse everything for the APC in 2023. Uzodinma was reportedly given a standing ovation in that meeting.

This means that on election day, it is Uzodinma who will send agents of Labour Party to the polling units. You already know what he will ask them to do against Labour Party and Peter Obi. It is therefore very unfortunate that through intense scheming, funding and maneuvers, Uzodinma has hijacked and derailed everything about Peter Obi’s election in Imo and now extending it to other states, while the youths are on social media chanting “OBIDIENT!” Disaster is coming!

The immediate-past Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has said that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State lacks the power to prosecute him over the alleged N96billion fraudulent sale of state assets.
Recall that the Supreme Court had dismissed a suit brought before it by Amaechi challenging the setting up of a seven-man probe panel against him for lack of merit.

The apex court affirmed the power of the Rivers State Government to set up a panel of inquiry to probe any financial dealings in the sale of the assets.

Earlier, the Rivers State Government had set up a seven-man panel to probe Amaechi’s involvement in an alleged N96 billion sale of state assets during his eight-year tenure as Governor.

Following the apex court ruling, Wike directed the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to kickstart the prosecution of Amaechi and others involved in the deal.

Speaking with journalists at the All Progressives Congress (APC) state secretariat in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Amaechi said Wike only has powers to set up a panel and not to prosecute him or anyone.

Speaking with journalists at the All Progressives Congress (APC) state secretariat in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Amaechi said Wike only has powers to set up a panel and not to prosecute him or anyone.

Amaechi said that the job of the probe panel is to gather information and pass the information to either the Police or the anti-graft agencies.

The former minister disclosed that the Police has not invited him for questioning over the report of the probe panel, adding that he also has not gotten an invitation from both the ICPC and the EFCC.

He said: “I hope that the governor has good lawyers. The Supreme Court said in their judgement that he has powers to set up a panel and the job of the panel is to gather information.

“That after gathering the information, they should pass the information to either ICPC, Police or EFCC. The Police have not invited me, ICPC has not invited me and EFCC has not invited me.

“Secondly, there is what we call fair hearing. At that point when they will invite me, it is called a fair hearing because they will hear my own side of the story. You have not heard my own side of the story and you went to Court to do what. Something must be giving you confidence.

“It is not about being served by the Court, the Supreme Court said before you go ahead, you have to send it to the investigating authorities and it is when they finish the investigation that they will decide whether the matter will come to Court or not. You have not done any of those things and you are in Court. So, what will you be telling the Court.

“Two, everything that was done was done transparently. There was an agency called the Public Procurement Agency and all those things passed through.

“We shouldn’t be talking about an issue that is before the Court. Let the Court decide. Tonye Cole didn’t act in his personal capacity, he represented Sahara Energy. You know this is political because they are afraid.”
