On SIM 5G I Stand. APC is too weak to stand PDP in Rivers State. Amaechi is a featherweight compare to Wike. Now take this simple analysis: On money politics PDP will Win. On grass roots politics PDP will Win. On Political might PDP will win. On free and fear election PDP will win. PDP Controls all the 23 LGA in Rivers. APC doesn't have any single councilor On Vote buying PDP will win. Rivers PDP is operating at 5G while APC is at GPRS. |

There is palpable tension in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as party stalwarts in the South East region have resolved to resign from the party en masse. Those that have, so far tendered their resignation or shown strong signs of resignation, include the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, frontline presidential aspirant and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, et al. News Band gathered that the grouse of the party chieftains towards the mass exit was inspired by the latest refusal of the party to zone the presidential seat to the South East region. The Senator Iyorchia Ayu-led executive committee of the party had spurned the zoning culture of the party and rather, threw the contest open to all regions when it got to the turn of the South East to produce the presidential candidate. As part of his moves to dump the party, the former Deputy President and governorship aspirant in Enugu State, Senator Ekweremadu announced his withdrawal from participating in the PDP governorship primary election scheduled for Wednesday, May 25, 2022. This was contained in a statement signed by the Director General of his campaign, Charlse Ogbo Asogwa, who urged supporters of the former Deputy Senate President to remain peaceful. News Band was informed by sources close to Senator Ekweremadu that he chose to withdraw before the upcoming party primaries because in line with the amended electoral law, if one participates in a primary election win or lose, he cannot participate in another primary election in another party. Sources close to Peter Obi also informed the medium that the frontline presidential aspirant will, in the near future, withdraw from PDP presidential race and dump the party for another over the amended electoral law. In a related development, the Senate Minority Leader, Abaribe, has also withdrawn from the governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State. Abaribe made the announcement in a statement he personally signed and issued on Tuesday. Meanwhile, in a separate development, a former Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank Plc, Dr. Alex Otti, is also withdrawing from the upcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election to enable him contest in another party in line with the amended electoral law. Dr. Otti announced his withdrawal after he had earlier declared his intention to contest the governorship election on the platform of APC. When contacted, a PDP chieftain in Anambra State, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the party structure is intact, adding that the decampees are doing so purely for selfish, and not geopolitical, reasons. He cited the case of Ekweremadu who, he said, is spurning the zoning principle of the party to pursue a personal agenda. He also cited Senator Abaribe, saying he wanted to contest against the zoning principle of the party. It is not immediately clear whether all affected persons will join a particular party or whether they will go their various ways.

The is the only True Party Man in PDP, he has been in the Party since 1999. He was the LGA Chairman of Obio/Apko, undoubtedly the second richest LGA in Nigeria 1999-2007. He served as the Chief of Staff to Rt Hon, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi the then Governor of Rivers State. He became the Governor of Rivers State in 2015 - till date. Barr E. N Wike has fought many battles for the PDP both in his home state and at the Federal level. He is the only voice of the opposition parties against the maladministration of APC led Federal Government. His Administration has brought huge infrastructural development to Rivers State. His administration brought an end to IPoB Terrorists operations in Rivers State. Wike’s performance and achievement as Governor of Rivers State can not be over emphasized. He is ready and capable to Renew Nigeria.

Do not underestimate the possibilities of Wike’s agility, he ventures what seems impossible to many men. Wike has paid his dues by keeping the party afloat all these years. He still remain the only one that can possibly wisk Power from Federal Might. Under Buhari, He defeated Ameachi(APC) Back to Back, including 3 rerun election irrespective of federal might presence in Rivers State. He Defeated IPoB Terrorists in Rivers State. He brought unspeakable developement to Rivers State. He still remain the only option for a terrorist free Nigeria.

Presidential hopeful and governor of Rivers State, Nysome Wike, has reportedly picked his successor. According to Nigerians, Wike handpicked Felix Amaechi Obuah as his successor in 2023. Newsbreak.ng recall that Felix Obuah popularly called ‘Empowerment Master’ recently came under serious pressure to join the governorship race by youths from all Council Areas in Rivers. The youths, led by Comrade Njoku Damian Ebere, who promised to buy him the Governorship nomination form further threatened to take him to court should he fail to heed the call to join the governorship race on or before the end of April 2022. They appealed to Nyesom Wike to endorse Obuah whom they said had demonstrated the capacity to sustain and improve on the governor’s developmental strides. About Felix Obuah Felix Obuah is a Nigerian businessman, politician, and philanthropist who graduated from the University of Ibadan. He is a two-time Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State. He comes from Omoku in Rivers State, Nigeria. In 2013, he was elected Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State for the first time, and in 2016, he was re-elected for a second term. https://l.kphx.net/s?d=735069985215649508&extra=Q1RSWT1ORyZMTkc9ZW4tVVM=

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olumide Akpata has responded to allegations made by Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike against the Nigerian Bar Association. It would be recalled that at a recent book launch in honour of the recently retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Honourable Justice Mary Ukaego Peter-Odili, Governor Wike described the NBA as a “paper tiger” which has failed in its responsibility to protect the judiciary and rescue it from political intimidation. The statement also reads: In a response to the weighty allegations, the NBA President in a statement sighted by TheNigeriaLawyer dismissed Wike’s claims as unfounded and baseless. In the 12-paragraph response dated 18th of May, 2022, Akpata described the allegations ironic and unfortunate as they were made in a ceremony in honour of Retired Justice Mary Peter-Odili whom the NBA recently stood firm in defence of when her Abuja home was recently invades by unscrupulous persons who are currently facing trial. “It is indeed quite ironic that Governor Wike made these unfortunate statements at an event held in honour of the Honourable Justice Mary Peter-Odili in support of whom, the NBA stood firm in the face of that brazen attack on her home in Abuja by some persons who are now standing trial in our law courts.” He berated Wike for quickly forgetting how the NBA stood in defence of Justice Odili as well as other instances where the Bar has stood firm in defence of rule of law and constitutionality. “That Governor Wike has chosen so quickly, to either forget or ignore this and other actions of the NBA in support of the Judiciary is suggestive of a dissonance that is most disconcerting and should give one serious cause for concern.” The NBA further queried the sincerity behind Wike’s criticism citing the dilemma which occured in the state in 2019 when lawyers in the state protested against the rising spate of insecurity in the state, threatening to boycott courts in the state and they were lampooned by Governor. He noted, “It is very convenient for Governor Wike to ask Nigerian lawyers (as he did at the Book Launch) to emulate their apparently more courageous Pakistani colleagues when the issues at stake do not concern him directly, but when in 2019 the very same Nigerian lawyers had the “temerity” to question his handling of the security situation in Rivers State and threatened to boycott the Courts if there was no abatement of the rising insecurity in the State, he was only too quick to lambast the lawyers and to withdraw his “support” for the NBA in the State.” The statement also reads: “While we understand that Governor Wike is currently on the political soapbox and, like a man with the proverbial new hammer, to whom any and everything is a nail, he will latch unto any chance to sell his candidacy, he cannot and should not be allowed to use the NBA as fodder of any sort for his vaulting ambition.” Akpata equally recounted key instances in recent history where the NBA has played key roles in defending rule of law and democracy in Nigeria. According to him, “the politico-legal history of Nigeria is replete with the commendable role that the NBA has played, and continues to play, as a primary defender of the rule of law and protector of the Judiciary in Nigeria.” He stressed further that while the NBA might have at different points dithered in playing these roles, the NBA is not known to have shirked that responsibility in recent times. He gave examples such as the controversy on the refusal of the Cross River Governor to appoint the most Senior Judge as Chief Judge of the State; the invasion of Justice Odili’s home and the unguarded statements of Governor Dave Umahi against Justice Inyang Ekwo, as notable testimonies of the vibrancy of the present NBA in defending the judiciary. “Illustrative examples abound to drive home this point, and three well-known examples remain fresh in the consciousness of Nigerians and constitute recent history that cannot be rewritten even by a personality of Governor Wike’s calibre. Firstly, there was the crisis that rocked the Cross River State Judiciary when, against established legal tradition, the Governor of the State refused to appoint the most senior Judge in the State – Justice Akon Ikpeme – as the substantive Chief Judge on the ground that she was not an indigene of Cross River State. That was an attempt by the executive arm of government to extend its political turf to the Judiciary, and the active role that the NBA played – both publicly and privately in defending the Judiciary and resolving that ugly debacle in that State (and a few other States where similar scenarios played out afterwards) is well-documented. Secondly, Nigerians would recall how the NBA swiftly rose to the defence of Mary Peter- Odili JSC (rtd) in particular, and the Nigerian Judiciary in general, when the former’s residence was invaded by rogue officers of the security agencies. The NBA’s fierce opposition to the illegal invasion also included the appointment of a Special Investigator to unravel those behind the illegality. That the Special Investigator, after an extensive fact- finding process, did not find the executive culpable is indicative of the fact that his appointment was not intended to achieve a contrived end, and should not be interpreted as the NBA being a “paper tiger”. Also fresh in our collective memories is the NBA’s defence of Honourable Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court who was wrongly excoriated by His Excellency Engr. Dave Umahi, Governor of Ebonyi State after an unfavourable judgment was entered against the Governor. The NBA’s defence of the Judiciary in that case would later result in an almost immediate apology by the Governor. More generally, the NBA has at different times in the last twenty months, filed public interest lawsuits to challenge the excesses of the Government and its agencies; issued strongly worded statements and reprimands in which it named and shamed political leaders with despotic and undemocratic tendencies; initiated a process to enthrone the appointment of only the best from amongst us as Judges; and even joined in a ten-week long strike action (with significant economic loss to our members and other debilitating effects) in a bid to contribute towards our quest for a more independent and efficient Judiciary in Nigeria. Short of taking the law into our hands and carrying ammunition without licence to defend the Judiciary, the NBA insists that it is doing its best in the circumstance, and in an atmosphere that is widely acknowledged to be characterised by recklessness and little regard for the rule of law by governments at all levels. It is in this respect that the NBA views Governor Wike’s invectives as inconsiderate and uncharitable. One does not suggest that there isn’t room for the NBA to do more in maintaining and defending the integrity and independence of the Judiciary, but it would be mean-spirited to make such far-reaching and ridiculing statement about the NBA, at least given its engagements and activities in defence of the Judiciary since August 2020 when the current leadership assumed office. The NBA would continue to do all that it can to defend the Judiciary, the rule of law and indeed, Nigeria’s democracy. We will not pass that buck.” He concluded. https://thenigerialawyer.com/nba-president-akpata-replies-gov-wike-says-hes-a-man-with-the-proverbial-new-hammer-he-will-latch-on-anything-to-sell-his-candidacy/

The Middle Belt and the South can make a good, country then all the Muslims in Middle Belt and South West should relocate to core north and the Christians in the North return to Middle Belt and South West. This is the same formula the British used in India and Pakistan. |

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has lifted the ban on employment at the state-owned Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in Port Harcourt. Wike, who disclosed this during the 39th /40th convocation of the institution on Saturday, said the management could now recruit both teaching and non-teaching workers to boost its capacity. He was represented at the occasion by his deputy, Dr (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry-Banigo, according to a statement by the deputy governor’s media aide, Owupele Benibo. The statement quoted Wike to have said, “To further this objective, I have lifted the ban and given approval to the management to employ both academic and non-academic staff to fill existing vacancies, to provide quality teaching, learning, research and to strengthen the capacity of the school to impart innovative knowledge and deliver quality education to its students.” While noting that every state needed well-educated, trained, skilled and healthy citizens to grow its economy, create jobs and ensure that life becomes truly meaningful for everyone, the governor added that the success of any state or country depends on how the youths were transformed through education, skills and values, to be active and productive citizens. He expressed satisfaction with the role the institution had been playing to actualise its special mandate in the training of professional educators and administrators for the state and the country, while he also commended the management, lecturers and other partners for the remarkable growth of the university and its contribution to the state and national development. In his, address the acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Okechuku Onuchuku, expressed gratitude to the governor for his appointment, saying under his watch, the university had secured full accreditation for 21 programmes, which received positive assessment from the National Universities Commission.

There are only 2 contestants in PDP ( Wike and Atiku). Read carefully and see the capacity of the people that went with him to Lagos. My Governor is a Party Man, he doesn't hold things too tight, he pursues his dreams with all vigor... In 2015 when Tambowa his candidate lost to Atiku, He (Wike) supported Atiku 100%.
