barackodam: Because he will not leave again abi?
At 33, Xavi and Iniesta already had secondary roles on the pitch and were only coming to stabilize or change and win match for us.
At 33, Messi still has 3 years left to offer us.....smh
Una no go learn At 33 Xavi and Iniesta were done. At 33 Messi is a bit diminished but still better and stronger than all of your favourite footballers. Begin from 365 days back and tell me any footballer on the planet that posted better numbers than Messi. Just 365 days. It is preposterous for any body to suggest to sell Messi on account of the performances of the team. WTF! |

khingTony: Am I the only one that thinks Messi Should leave? Barcelona needs rebuilding, and a rebuilding will not be effective if its still around Messi.
The "Pass to Messi" tactics it part of what got us where we are today. No you are not the only one. There are quite a few of Us. Yes I have come to accept that Messi should leave; not because Barca will be any better without him. But because he needs to stop being loyal and look out for himself. Let him leave and maximize the remaining 3 years of his career. Let him go to be better managed team with a formidable squad and leave the game with a loud ovation. Instead of destroying his legacy playing at a dying club. But then good luck with your rebuilding. Barca is finished. You think you'd get another Messi or Ronaldinho? Be prepared to wait another 20 years. Barca has officially gone the way of A.C. Milan and Manchester United. A.C. Milan and Man U actually thought they were rebuilding. Look at them now. Rebuilding is a process. Thou we are always late, it's still a process. No coming back from this 'grass' |

A40: Lol this Messi shey e no like challenge ni? Is he Catalan abi why he wan die put for Barcelona? I'd like to see him in Man City or any other contender European team. Hell even PSG. It's gotten pretty stale and boring and it's only going to get worse for both sides moving forward I guess in his heart he feels he owes Barca his loyalty considering how Barca nurtured him as a sick infant. Besides a clubs keeps on increasing your pay without complaining and paying you 500 gs a week. If na you which "challenge" will you go and look for again? Then again, moving around the top clubs in Europe like City, Bayern, Madrid and PSG is not a challenge but an ambition or career. A good example of a challenge is what Maradona did at Napoli. Went to Naples and conquered. I would love to see more top players go to second tier teams like Valencia, Roma, Spurs, Dortmund, and Lyon and win the League and UCL. Na dat one be challenge. Messi has already had big challenges working with an incompetent board, over 8 different mediocre coaches and a depreciated squad. It would be nice sha to see him get more ambitious by moving to PSG, City, or even Bayern. |

Veeque: Did you just say forget Dembele
Do you know the relief I feel when that boy plays? The feeling you have when you know there is someone in our team that will destroy opponent defense. The last I had that feeling was when neymar was in the team.
Dembele is the fastest, trickiest player in Barca. The 2nd best attacker. Mention who is better than Dembele in that team when it comes to effectiveness. Suarez?? Fati? Griezmann? Who?
If that boy is properly managed, trust me, he'll excel. If he could do it at dortmund, why can't he do the same at barca. He's 23. Other attackers like Fati, Pedri, Trincao, konrad will help reduce the pressure and ensure good rotation.
The future isn't lost. We need a good manager to bring the best out of the youths in the team. Lastly, we need a good defense. I love Dembele. I absolutely love Dembele. He's the best option we have for now to end the problem of Messi-dependency. But looking at his injury hisyory can Dembele give us 20 games in a season? Out of 50 games? Well I really do hope that he can be well managed as you put it. |

haymekus: You have countless spoken how important Vidal is to this team and how important he would be next season, even to the extent of saying he should always start ahead of puig
Barely 48 hours ago same you was analysing how Vidal would be the second most important player against Bayern, and just like every other game he has played since he came to Barcelona, he kept on running up and down like a headless chicken
No player has been better than Messi since the past five years, we all know that, but you can’t still compare his performance now and that of 5 years ago. The fact that coaches are been forced to play his friends is something I certainly don’t understand, if he and his friends thinks they are too big to defend or to be left on the bench, then they should be shown the door. The bolded is a lie from the pit of hell. Repent of your lying ways. Vidal was not important against Bayern yes. So name the players among the 13 that featured that were important. Oya name names. This your Vidal obsession remains suspicious. See him mouth like they should be shown the door. You guys simply do not get the importance of building a solid team around a once in a lifetime superstar. Remove Messi and replace him with the ancestor Lewandowsky from Bayern in the same Barca team. What would happen? Make una pursue Messi na. Another club will gladly grab him faster than a rabbit gets fuuccked. And for another 3 seasons we will be fighting with Sevilla and Valencia for champions league places. |

usbcable: Messi is doing the best he can honestly. The challenge right now is the rest of the whole of Barcelona does not want to do anything more than Messi does.
from the pitch to off the pitch.
Messi staying should be good to help rebuild but sadly and unbelievably it is the staying that has not made the remaining 10 man on the pitch pull their weight to do what is expected of them.
The best way forward is for him to stay and the squad is given guidance and rebuilt. But how that will be done is hard to see with what is available in the team and its staff and board.
But as a rival fan I pray that challenge is never resolved Honestly the most reasonable thought on this matter. Unlike some of our 'viewing center' fan boys expecting Barca to clear out at least 8 senior players in one fell swoop. Me sef don tire for the matter. I don had a change of heart. Let Messi leave. Right now he will win much more outside Barca than in Barca. He should stop trying to be Barca's superman. They may not have won the champions League in recent yrs but they have dominated the league for decades. But just one bad season in whic they still finished close second and quarter final exit everyone is sayin he is finish. That's poor reasoning. The standard Messi and baca has set is too high that's just the problem. It is loyalty that is causing him all these insults despite struggling to drag 10 other bums through a football match. He needs to go to Bayern or PSG and win more titles before he retires. If i were his father I will drag him out of Barca. Disown him if he doesnt want to leave. |

TheGoodJoe: However, both Ferdinand and Hart believe there was clear contact on Laporte, albeit unintentional, and the goal shouldn't have stood.
"I think it's a foul," Ferdinand told BT Sport.
"If I'm on that pitch, it's got to be. He's connected and he's the one who went on to score. City were dominating at that time.
"There is 100 per cent contact. I don't understand how they can't call that? People will be saying conspiracy theories now if you're a City fan.
"I believe that's a foul and it's the man who goes on to score the goal."
"It's not intentional, that's clear but there is a clash of legs," Hart added.
"Does it then go with the referee's decision because he's seen it?"
