Hi guys! Any news yet from Baobab for beneficiaries resident in the state where their branches don't exist.

Seems everything just went cold, and these guys(Baobab) are just sitting comfy doing nothing.

They could be trading with our money for all we know.

UPDATED INFORMATION

1. Are you an NYIF beneficiary and reside in the South-East & South-South States? Kindly note that a Baobab Centre will be available within your Region / State very soon

2. You are expected to have filled out the online form sent via SMS/ Email with your relevant details as this will ease the process of account opening.

3. If you did not receive the online link to open your account, kindly reach out to our contact center or email us.

4. Please note, that when your Baobab account is opened, you will get a notification on when to visit the designated center within your Region / State to sign your Loan offer letter.

5. Beneficiaries from other regions and states will also be advised accordingly.

I registered them as individuals but I was surprised when d tin space was asterisked meaning it's compulsory. I tried submitting without tin but it didn't go through I had no option.
They received d first message that d application is received n processing but this last message of money ready for disbursement they didn't get. Did u visit d bank?

The TIN option in my own form was asterisked too; I just filled 'Nil' and it went through.

Anyways, you don't need to worry much, their disbursement message will come, it's just taking a little longer for those who registered online.

I'm not sure using your husband's YIN for another person is the best thing to do. Might raise suspicion.

TIN isn't mandatory, especially if you applied as an individual against registered business.

I didn't put TIN in my form as I didn't have one, and I'm due for disbursement.

Just spoke with their call center agent and I was told not to travel to anywhere until I receive the account number from them. She said that I'm only needed physically when for disbursement.

Then I received this sms immediately I dropped the call.

This Baobab guys can't be serious. What's this nonsense, so me that stays in Anambra will have to travel down to Lagos twice just to receive loan that's not up to 1m.

Guys we have to do something about this. If it means calling them out on Facebook and Twitter.

Very inconsiderate nonentities.

Hello guys! Don't we need a WhatsApp group for those under Baobab. I reckon it'll make communicating easy and swift.

I went to their branch here in Ìbàdàn. Bodija to be precise. The form they gave me to fill is not that different from the one that I saw online. I submitted two passport photographs, one utility bill and national ID card. I asked them what next and they said they will get back to me. I don't think there is any physical verification.

when next you are around the bank premises, could you help us ask if there is need for physical verification?

We can also follow them on Twitter and Facebook and make this complaint. Though have been searching for their Twitter handle without success, only saw a a couple of tweets about them.

Please guys! Let's give this a shot.

Those receiving sms to open account with micro finance bank can you confirm that your name was among the 10000 shortlisted last year? Pls we want to know, on behave of those that applied and yet to receive any msg after the previous msg informing us of our pre selection.

My name was on the list. And I only received a msg from Baobab MFB yesterday.

I believe y'all will get the SMS too. Just exercise some patience.

It's not optional.

You just have to provide one document/bill that proves your residence/address.

just do what you were asked to do, we weren’t asked to open any account. Put your account number you used to apply for the NYIF. We shouldn’t complicate things for ourselves. Fill the form and wait for the next line of action.

I skipped those parts. Only filled/answered the "required" options/questions. Hope that is enough?

For me, I'm just as relaxed, when ever the approval comes is ok with me. As long as we get the loan.
