Politics / Re: U.S. Airstrikes Hit ISIS inside Syria For The First Time by texaco1: 6:22am On Sep 23, 2014
duffman: US airstrike alone can not defeat ISIL who are mainly based in syria, it can only weaken them a little bit. They need to get troops on ground (which may be impossible) to defeat ISIL. The US needs to get Assad's regime involved because carrying out airstrike in a sovereign country will be seen as an invasion of the country and also because ISIL is a threat to both of them.
there is no need for American trOops to be deployed there ,isil is already an enemy to other armies which are on ground ,the syrian army will push them back froom their own end and the syrian rebels to will fight against them, they will have too much to contend with.

was d 'gift' capable of influencing opinions in his favor? ?

Did he (TbJ) suggest to them t 'soften d reports'

Did a journalist ask 'wat do u want us t write?'

Am by no means a lawyer, but dis case looks almost done t me.

bros , with all humility I will tell u that ur own questions knocks off the case u are trying to present.but I think a lawyer should be able to enlighten us more since we are both not lawyers .but from this tape tb has many escape routes from conviction

s.m.h

you can shake ur head as much as u like .but the truth is with this tape ,you don't have a water tight case against tb,there are many loopholes any competent lawyer exploit and build up. The only thing is he gave money and he stated the reasons there in the tape. The journalist should have tried to make him give a comment about what he actually wanted them to do.

barcanista: bros go through my earlier submission. That tape Ís very iÑdicting except he hires the best of the best lawyers and the prosecutors a®e "not up to the task". There are MANY offences in just thaÞ tape to be established against tbj
u are letting the heat of this issue get to you. The person that recorded that message didn't do a good job. There is no where in that tape where tb asked the journalist to commit a crime ,infact it is the journalists that are in trouble because according to you ,it is not ethical for them to ask or collect brown envelopes which they did. Tb never said that the money was for them to suppress anything ,infact the journalists were the ones telling and coaching him what to say. It is a very very simple case for him to wriggle free. It is the journalists whose heads will roll . Tb was smart enough not to make any comment that will either implicate him or make him look as if he was bribing them .
Religion / Re: Shocking! Recorded Voice Tape of TB Joshua Bribing Journalists To tell Lies! by texaco1: 6:41pm On Sep 20, 2014
barcanista: Oga did you listen to the audio? Did you hear when he was being taught what to say? Do you know what conspiracy to avert justice means?
just like u said he was been taught what to say not that he was telling the press people what to say, they are two different things . I am not holding fort for tb but from this tape there are many large loopholes his lawyers can use to wriggle him out. This tape proves nothing other than money was exchanged and he told them what the money was for . To be honest ,tb brain was working and I don't think there is anything incriminating here ,he maybe accused of covering up things but that statement that he wants the security agents to do their job clears him a lot. Just my own submission anyway. Maybe a lawyer can shed more light on a prosecution case against tb here
Religion / Re: Shocking! Recorded Voice Tape of TB Joshua Bribing Journalists To tell Lies! by texaco1: 5:51pm On Sep 20, 2014
Despite the fact that tb gave the press some money ,it is loud and clear there he said he doesn't want to interfere with the job of security people . The question I will like a lawyer to answer here is what is the offence of tb in this audio? On what charges can he be arrested for?

greall1: I won't surprise if the man cal Alao Akala win Next Gubernatorial election

1. majority of OYO State like PDP as a party.
2. Power always rotate in Oyo state compare to state like Lagos.
3. PDP won last election but Accord party Voluntary their Votes to APC.

Dis is politic anything can happen.
pdp can win the next election in oyo state but not with akala as their candidate. They should field a younger and acceptable candidate ,don't be surprised how people change when it is voting time .akala should stay at the background and give support to the candidate,as per ladoja he is only contesting to give other candidates in his party for various post enough publicity. Without ladoja accord party is nothing ,so even if they win he still has to contest.

donroxy: The issues involved in the situation of US not granting sophisticated help to Nigerians IMHO may include :

1. Whether US does not want such gadgets to be used by our Armies cuz of Loyalty issues where some certain powerful Nigerian cabals will deploy such gadgets to their ''region'' and use it to wreck more havoc on Nigeria(ns) !!

2. US would prefer American soldiers to be deployed to BH den alongisde Nigerian soldiers but due to sovereignty and spying issues grin ... Nigeria will not allow that !

3. Maybe US is baiting Nigeria Government in working with China/Russia , I pray Nigeria would never be the ground to test might of superpowers and cold war , amen !!!

4. US is involved in BH and do not want it to end too soon !!

My own Opinion is that, West do not trust the administration of Jonathan to holistically fight insurgency with US deployed Sophisticated Military Hardware cuz before you realise it MEND/MASSOB may have it all!

Also, I think there is International Policy against deploying sophisticated gadgets to Africa nations cuz ''they'' think such can be easily used against the citizens where there is any protest or Uprising !!!

IMHO ooooo cheesy
your comment is an intelligent one , but please let's erase the issue of the west being behind boko haram . But the main reason why the americans and uk are reluctant to sell arms to nigeria is because they don't trust our military guys . Please don't forget that they even said it that they won't share intelligence reports with our military because it is a known fact that many of our military men are boko sympathisers and moles ,even at a time some high ranking officers were court marshalled for suppoorting bh,even nigerians know that the army efforts is been sabotaged by some of the officers. Gej himself made it know publicly that boko haram members are in his goverment, now please how can the usa sell arms to a country like that?doont forget that there have been serious cases of missing weapons in the nigerian army ,most of the weapons been used by boko are nigeria army weapons . Boko haram is also in close relationship with al shabaab and al queda and other terrorist groups in north africa ,if the us sells nigeria those weapons and it eventually gets into the wrong hands who will take the blame ?I am sure many will then be saying that the usa is arming boko haram . What gej should do is the clean and weed his own army of boko haram elements and this will encourage the west to support nigeria fully.

lookooman:

you are on point bro, the battle this time around is most likely between these three. I will give a brief analysis on why it may be so
.
Akala is favored to win the pdp ticket cos of all the aspirants he is the most tested politically with considerable Abuja connection and is said to be Jonas annointed.....though me think pdp would choose Seyi Makinde cos he is young and full of great ideas....

Ajimobi of course will be Apc candidate as he will run for a second term and irrespective of the internal crisis in the apc ajimobi will fly its flag

Ladoja has already stated he will run for governor.after helping ajimobi narrowly defeat akala as part of the ibadan agenda he fell out with ajimobi and has won over a lot of ajimobi supporters. For accord to make an impact in the next election the best candidates that can give ajimobi a run for his miney
your analysis are correct but with the recent experience in osun state I doubt it if gej or pdp will give akala the ticket. Ladoja is only playing the spoiler game and just as he has stated that any party serious about winning oyo state must align with accord . They will eventually negotiate just like they did in the last election with apc ,but which party they will support still remains to be known

horlabiyi: what is Arapaja or Seyi Makinde in Oyo state politics please?
they are pdp candidates vying for the party ticket . One point is a fact and which doesn't need any arguing and that is if akala gets the pdp ticket he will lose . That is one thing we have to realize . Ajimobi stands a better chance of winning again if akala contests against him.I was in ibadan some few months back and despite the fact that I am a ardent follower of pdp I still cannot ignore the fact that ajimobi has done well. Whether the roads he constructed are fg or local govt roads doesn't matter, why didn't akala construct those roads when he was in power?but ajimobi govt has in one way or the other hurt the feelings of the masses by demolishing their shops ,to beat ajimobi in the next election pdp must present someone other than akala

true talk. believe me its gonna be a tight contest
on the contrary I don't believe so, ladoja will split the votes in ibadan terribly and the deciding votes may likely come from outside ibadan .if ladoja wasn't in the race then it would have been an easy ride for pdp

Kayraph: Don't underestimate the possibility of Akala's return to power in Oyo State.

He lost marginaly to Ajimobi in the last election because Ladoja polarised the electorates choice with Accord Party.

I forsee a keen contest again between APC and PDP in Oyo Gubernatorial elections come 2015.

Mark my words!
despite the fact that akala is a powerful politician in oyo state politics I still don't think the masses in oyo state will vote for him . It will be an easy ride for ajimobi if akala and ladoja contest against him. I believe ppl will prefer to stick with apc rather than vote for these 2 ex governors. Pdp will have a better chance if the ticket is given to someone like arapaja or seyi makinde

If truly the nigerian authorities wanted to move that cash to sa to buy arms legally and discreetly there are tens of ways to do it which they know about without having to charter a private flight and land at an international airport.

aguiyi: we will not take the battle to them.

you may be wondering why amnesty international and the northern elders have not said anything meaningful since Nigerian Army started crushing boko haram lately.

what has the senator that has become BBC reporter said since we started recording victory against the savages.

get this and get it straight. boko haram members are Nigerians and to some people they have a right to live and fight for what they believe in, going after and killing them in their hideouts can be equated to killing unarmed men or innocents. that will amount to a war crime and abuse of their fundamental human right.

the Nigerian Army has not been accused lately because they are repelling the attack rather than been the one attacking.

Ihejirika made that mistake by taking the war to the Bokites and he was almost sued (that is if they don't make good their promise to do so some day) to the hague for war crimes

KILLING IN SELF DEFENSE IS NOT A WAR CRIME BUT TAKING THE WAR TO THE ENEMY CAN RE MISCONSTRUED AS ATTACKING UNARMED CIVILIANS, REMEMBER THAT THEY HAVE STARTED ADOPTING THE HAMAS STYLE OF USING THEIR PEOPLE AS HUMAN SHIELDS .

THEY SHOULD KEEP COMING AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO TAKE THEM OUT WHILE MOVING CLOSER TO THEM IN BITS

however you like to see it, they still remain Nigerians and our forces have a duty to protect them too like they have a duty to protect you that is seating behind your computer calling for their annihilation.
the west and america is looking for a way to come in and do their usual world police job.

CHIBOK HAVE FAILED

EBOLA HAS ALSO FAILED

$9.3M ARMS DEAL IS DEAD ON ARRIVAL

IF WE GO AFTER THIS PEOPLE AND KILL THEM IN DROVES, WILL NIGERIANS SUPPORT THEIR FORCES WHEN THE WEST COME WITH ACCUSATION AND BIG BROTHER ATTITUDE?
NOTE THAT CIA WILL NOT BE HAPPY IF THEIR PREDICTIONS FAIL.
so boko haram should be left where they are ,to consolidate and create their own country in the areas they presently occupy in nigeria simply because they are nigerians? Boko haram is seeking expansion of their territories and u want our armies to sit back and only defend? . Don't u know that the longer they are allowed to stay comfortably the more dangerous they become ?they will be able to equip and train their fighters and when they eventually attack maiduguri will will just a walk over. This is a war situation and no military formation anywhere in the world allows its enemies time and space to become dangerous.the best form of defence is to attack

I don't think the military should be proud of this, what we keep hearing is repelling repelling ,the nigeria army should find ways of smoking those terrorist out from where their bases are,the bh fighters keep coming hundreds sooner or later they will come in thousands ,our military needs to make sure that they don't have the capacity to regroup or reorganise an attack,it is obvious so far that the rebels are comfortable wherever they are and only lauches attacks,I won't be surprised if those been killed are the ordinary men captured from towns under bh and only been sent to test maiduguri defences while the real trained soldiers of bh look and plan their attack.the only way to win this war is for our military to push forward and push boko haram back into the forest and recapture bama and other towns .

Exmay: Boss I understand perfectly the corruption angle to it. But just remember, there are 2 sides to a Coin...
I am glad we could find a point to agree on,I believe there was indeed an arms deal but because some people wanted to benefit from the deal, they decided to carry out the transaction in a dubious manner .
Politics / Re: Govt Officials Blame The US For Arms Purchase Scandal. by texaco1: 11:35am On Sep 18, 2014
Exmay: . Sorry Boss, but I feel u r underestimating USA. They will go to any length to force you to accept their own point of View. They Sanctioned Nigeria on acct of her Anti-Gay stand. What do you think those sanctions cover. The US promised to send support to assist in fighting Boko, pls after all these months have we seen anything from them... No. Why, cos our Leaders 'Fail' to play ball with them. So the best way to get this weapons that are much needed is through the open market. And for all we care, SA may just be a meeting point between them and the Dealers from another Country.
bros ,to be honest I doont think u understand that there is corruption smelling all over this money movement. If the americans could stand aside and look at nigeria when she bought and ordered for helicopters which actually cost more than 9.2 miilion dollars ,why then will they stand against this deal? Someone interest was been guarded and that was why the issue of private charter plane comes into play. Believe me most nigerian politicians do move cash amounts like that without any hindrances. There is something fishy about this deal and I only pity gej because he has to take the whole blame for it all. Forget the issue of americans been against nigeria . Nigeria is no threat to america in anyway. Nigeria is a thousand miles behind the americans . The issue and question is why conduct a national arms deal with another country in this manner without even a govt official on the trip?no top military official ?haba !

Exmay: Are talking as an experience arms Dealer U can't transfera huge money like that through any bank without leaving a trace. Thus, that channel can be blocked subsequently... Arms dealing no be same as Car dealing.
bros ,let me give u a possible scenario of what happened . Gej must have approved the money for the purchase of the weapons that is his own part. We have a minister of defence and we have militaryy chiefs who will determine where and what buy. Gej must have entrusted this responsibility to them . But because of some kick backs they are interested in ,they decided to go about it in a amateurish manner and now the whole thing has backfired and ofcourse who will nigerians blame if not gej. The simple truth is there is more to this supposedly deal and I won't be surprised if some people get sacked very soon. I don't think there is any way gej will descend so low as to approove an arms deal and transaction for Nigeria to be carried out is this manner.it definitely belittles gej,the office of the presidency and the image of nigeria as a whole .
