Business / Re: Ebay And Paypal Are Splitting Up by texaco1: 9:50am On Oct 06, 2014
The move and split is coming too late .and paypal has been left behind ,other processors have taken over . Applepay is coming on , braintree is magnificent, and stripe is doing great. Who needs paypal? This is what a major shareholder in paypal has been saying for years that paypal should split from ebay so that it can focus on more innovative products . Now the next is mobile payment and apple will start next month ,if you are in ur 30s ,then paypal isn't relevant. That is the truth. Amazon and many other companies latched into markets which paypal were scared of going in and with alibaba been the biggest now ebay has no choice .

Business / Re: How Do I Buy On Ebay ?experts Opinion Needed! by texaco1: 3:44pm On Oct 01, 2014
Very simple and there is no big deal about ebay. Go to ebay.com , create an account with ur name and the billing address you used in getting ur bank card. Then open a paypal account, with the same details and other bank infos which you will be asked . Go back to ebay and link your ebay account with your paypal. Paypal will give u some instructions on how to get verified by them ,follow their rules and procedures and once that is done you are good to go.

This is the correct business savvy approach to mitigating exchange rate risk. The poor management of this risk was one of the factors that led to the collapse of Banks in Nigeria in 208-209.

In addition, if you are giving a customer a quote that is valid for say 30days, then you would need to increase the margin to between 175-180naira to a dollar.'
thanks for compliment. I believe people will learn a lot from ur post and use the method you showed to avoid business pitfalls
Celebrities / Re: Murder Suspect Jeffery Okafor Arrested In Nigeria 5 Years After Fleeing The UK by texaco1: 9:48am On Sep 27, 2014
A man suspected of murdering a
TV actor five years ago and then
fleeing to Nigeria has been
arrested.
Carl Beatson Asiedu, 19 - who
appeared in CBBC's MI High - was
stabbed in the heart near Club Life
nightclub in Vauxhall, south London,
in 2009.
Jeffrey Okafor, 23, wanted over the
death of Mr Asiedu, was held by
authorities in the west African
country on Tuesday.
Moves are under way to bring Mr
Okafor back to Britain.
'Tragic death'
In August Mr Asiedu's family appealed
for help in finding his killer.
His father John Asiedu said: "I still feel
the pain and get a lump in my throat
whenever his tragic death crosses my
mind, or when I hear that someone
has been stabbed to death.
"Part of me died with him and I have
to carry on living with what is left of
me."
Mr Okafor left the UK for Nigeria in
the days after the stabbing, and
detectives launched a Facebook
appeal to try to find him.
Police also offered a reward of
£10,000 for information leading to Mr
Okafor's arrest and prosecution.
He was last captured on CCTV
boarding an Air France flight at
Heathrow Airport using his brother's
passport.

This is great news .many never believed the nigeria police could find this guy and I am sure the accused too would have thought he will be safe and untouchable in nigeria. But like I always tell people when nigeria security agencies decides to find someone or unravel something ,they will surely do it.

Why are ppl very quick to call it a political assassination? It could have been another faction with the state NURTW who may not want the victim taking over the nurtw, also it maybe a personal grouse with someone . And it maybe from either apc or Pdp . Those behind this killing are yet to be known

Interesting, your write up would have been wonderful if the lady asked the question for a business purpose, she probably wants to get some personal effect online and she thought the best place to get that is a thread like this so is always good to handle every one with a general mindset instead of a business mindset. As for myself that asked a related question earlier; i was not even concerned about the exchange rate but was concerned about irregularities happening on a bank card in the name of exchange rate that would have opened the eyes of many using their card. what happens when you fix your rate at $171 and you were later charged $175 or $180? would you not ask questions to understand what is happening or would you keep quiet? In as much as business personnel takes risk in business, they also need information about the risk they want to take to balance the equation. why did you think a thread like this was created https://www.nairaland.com/68738/how-much-did-exchange-dollar/85 . we are in an I.T world where some bank I.T guys can decide to set a different exchange rate for you other than what other customers are being charged and you can only know about that if you have your information at hand. At times we draw conclusion without knowing the reason behind a question. is just a matter of typing three digit number for her if you know it or probably tell her no idea.
even governments base their budget on base levels and exchange rates. You can't run a successful enterprise by moving up and down like a yoyo . How will a business be able to make a forecast if they have to be asking exchange rates everyday? If you are buying for urself or for business the best practise is not to use the bank rate as a standard but the parallel market rate which is the black market. When I was in ghana I learnt this trick from nigerian traders buying from there . They will always ask what is the black market rate before going there. If the bank rate is 150 and the black market is 180 it is the black market rate one will use . You will have to add some amount again to it to accommodate and exchange increase . Which means the exchange will be 183. This is just an example .even banks do this all the time,if u make a wu transfer to nigeria ,the banks will pay the recipient at their own rate Or cbn rate ,but if u want to buy from them u will notice that it will almost be the same as the black market rate. If you are doing importation business it is most advisable not to use bank rates for calculations but parallel market rate

bros am not a pastor bt i know dat God is always faithful to HIS prophets
let me give u some examples . John the baptisit was beheaded by a king ,was God not faithful to him? Some few years back there is a church in ibadan called with God prayer ,a portion of their wall fell and killed some ppl does that mean that church is satanic?many pastors were killed by boko haram does that mean they were not serving God? Many prophets in the bible were killed does that mean God wasn't faithful?when job was tested and his children died does that mean job was a sinner? It is written in the bible isaiah 45vs7 “I form the light and create
darkness, I bring prosperity and
create disaster; I, the LORD, do all
these things” I am not saying tb is a man of God ,but if you will accuse him then let ppl do so with cogent proof and evidences

And many lack the mental capacity to present a case with water tight evidences to a very reasonable logical conclusion. People keep shouting fraud fraud .when u ask them what fraud tb has committed the mundane answer they present is he can't raise the dead in his church and he didn't forsee it . I don't know when tb told nigerians that he is God himself. But if he hasn't said that ,then people should just try to readjust their brains and come up with a better argument of how tb is a frauds ter

Family / Re: Why Would My Husband Watch Pronographic Films? by texaco1: 7:50am On Sep 26, 2014
I don't think the op should be bothered. Watching porn is basically a male thing and most likely the op husband has been watching it for a very long time.that is why most porn magazine always show nake women ,it is essential to know that at least 80% of men that have access to the net do watch porn.that is a fact and the reason is men are moved by what they see while women are moved by what they hear.but the op must be very careful not to think that her man doesn't love her. And she shouldn't try to be like the porn actresses in the porn films in order to please her man. The op husband loves her just the way she is. By been natural and not the porn actresses is what is most likely to have attracted her man in the first instance to her.

hushmail: i avoid criticizing men of God

bt d op made sense wt his write up

he said TB has been able to predict catastrophies all around d world bt simply failed to predict his church collapse

also as a well known faith healer, he shld have resurected some pple

dats d op opinion, dont know y those criticizing d op fail to understand this
that point from the op is pointless. Is tb a god that he must know everything?it is only what God decides to reveal to His prophets that they will know. So because tb has raised some people from the dead ,any dead person can be raised? Even during the time of the apostles people still die and were not raised . Stephen was stoned to death why didn't God save him?and yet God opened the gates of the prison for peter and saved him from herood. When God decides to do soomething no human being can stop him from doing it. If there are more concrete evidences like maybe rituals or juju been done by tb then the op should present it but so far his points are senseless.

don't be too sure. is not all purchase sites that does that; showing you the exchange rate before making purchase. some don't even recognize naira, they only take their money and is left for master/visa card or your bank to do the conversion. is good to have idea of exchange rate before doing a transaction as it would help one in planing his/her budget on a transaction. my thought though.
you have a point .then how will u go about it,the banks don't know ,people are tired of that question so they won't answer it and the sites u want to shop on won't convert it. The best thing to do is to have a base exchange rate which will and can accomodate any fluctuations .that is what business men do all over the world. Instead of asking for exchange rates on a daily basis just fix one . The naira has been between 165 to 167 for sometime . Why don't u just fix ur rate at 170 or 171 to a dollar.that is what I always do,my exchange rate has always been 170 to a dollar so that my calculations can absorb any fluctuations. Make all ur calculations on a base exchange rate ,even the shipment we did last week was based on a base figure and we got it. This is business and in business you must make accomodations for changes and be prepared for them

SLIDEwaxie: everybody gets personal on the guy. It's pointless to argue why because most people gets angry with wot defies all odds to stay successful even when they think it has no abilities to be..

I was shocked today when I saw a nigerian on sa cable tv etvafrica, lying about tb and the other nigerian peterside idah had to be cautioning him. He said tb sells his holy water for 500 dollars etc. But one thing I have noticed about tb is the more people try to pull him down the higher he goes .maybe if his detractors will just shut up for one year maybe just maybe tb will fall or come down.

guy, you are funny and you think they will tell her. is customers like you that use the card online that would know how much that was charged on exchange rate and not the staffs of the bank or do you think they use those exchange rate on their boards in the banking hall? Exchange rate they use on cards is different from what you see on boards.

then it is very simple ,log into the site u want to purcahse from , make an order ,go to the payment page and it will show u the exchange rate . Amazon does that all the time and I know many other reputable sites have their currency converter . That will give u an idea of the rate before u make an order

I think the problem with many members of nairaland is that once they see a long post or coomment they automatically think it makes sense and they will start applauding it, not many people actually take time to dissect a write up and sieve out the tangible points in it
