If you show your five fingers it may mean hi or uwaka. In Egypt it may mean support for terrorism, in Nigeria it means 4+4. BABA till 2023. Mind you, I am a Christian. |

MissRaine69: Have this conversation with your best friend not the internet, because the internet is not your best fiend he is. That should have been the most logical thing to do before you start tasting more than her pounded yam. If he follows your advice, it is very likely the friend may conclude that he is already dating her and no amount of explanation may correct the damage. |

7 percent of Tweets prominent women receive is abusive? Seriously? So if 7% of the messages I receive on a social media platform are abusive how is that a problem. Besides, a worthy study would have taken note of the percentage of abusive tweets "prominent men receive.". This is a very very useless research. |

OkunrinOloro: A scientific movement? No. A cultural movement? No. An educational movement? No. What kind of movement? A movement for idiots with lots of time to spare but insufficient brain power to know how to spend that time. Freeze is the ideological twin brother of Bob Risky. Empty barrels that make a lot of noise on Instagram. see painment! That is how you and your shepherds start cursing anytime you hear the name Freeze. OkunrinOloro:

Anytime Freeze speaks, I remember how he was the class dullard in the University of Ibadan, Department of Sociology in the early 2000s where he finished with a 3rd class degree. Back then I was still in junior secondary school, but my elder brother was in the Department of Economics also in U.I.and he personally knew freeze. Freeze was better known for being an MC and a wack rapper who regularly performed at campus gigs. He was never reckoned with as someone who possessed any intellectual competence. Ironically, today We all know Freeze, but who is your brother? |

RoastedCorn: It's stupid to think ASUU is going on strike for the fun of it and for selfish reasons.
1. Federal government made an agreement with them in 2009 and has not fufilled it yet, yet you blame ASUU
2. They went on a warning strike few days to Independence day, the government did not but begged them to just halt it since Independence day is important and it wouldn't look cool for schools to be on strike.
3. The truth alot of Nigerians don't know is that there is money in Nigeria but alot of it is being stolen rather than put into good use to develop our education system.
4. Lecturers are underpaid compared to world standards and the resources we have. 300K/month for an average lecturer is rubbish but Nigerians are too mediocre, they think it's big.
By the way, why bother yourself about ASUU when you can study in America,

stanliwise: The OP isn't a teaching staff so I wouldn't blame him. In your intelligent write up you couldn't come up with a better alternative. Strike remains one of the greatest weapons to fight the stubborn and stone-hearted government in Nigeria. You speak from the student point of view which is a good thing but how about the lectures that teach in dirty classroom without fans and over-populated student, lecturers that that will almost loose their voice because of lack of micro-phone, Retired lecturers waiting for pension, delapitate laboratory and educational infrastructures, overloading lecturers with many responsibilities, teaching with crude tools and still marking more than 500 script with bare hands. see and even many unsaid ones. Bro I understand your point but we shouldn't become insensitive also. The way out is to restructure the way school are been funded. either to privatize it which will mean common man will not go to university again or to increase yearly allocation of fund with proper management to ensure the fund is used properly. Oga, universities run consultancy programmes, do post ume exams collecting monies for such. Are you seriously telling me the monies thus generated cannot buy microphones for lecture halls? Are TETFUND funds not mismanaged by universities? |
