MODIFIED: Yakubu is not an Arabic name, but a Hausa version of Jacob. Oga, the woman is bearing "hajiya " title, she is a Moslem! |

However each time the question is posed what your people keep telling us is that it will endanger the national security, if there are information on the President too confidential and that will endanger national security, who told you then there are not information too confidential that can endanger individual dignity. You too want to claim I know, but what really do you know? Freedom of information act doesn't give you the right to probe into places that at are exclusively within the precinct of an individual's privacy. Olodo! If APC refuse to release information on Buhari is understandable, they are shielding themselves from embarrassment, it is understandable. But why will a government agency under a PDP government refuse to release incriminating evidence against an opponent in an opposition party? Why? If those allegations against Buhari in 2015 were true and PDP failed to release information to expose him even though all those agencies were under a PDP government and you defend PDP still then it means you and PDP are a herd of goats! Continue insulting your father thinking you are insulting me. |

Isn't that cheaper than enlisting the services of countless SANs?
This attestation has raised another dust : Is he eligible for recruitment into the military ab initio without credit in Mathematics? But PDP could have demanded for it they were the party in power and besides the FIB guarantees they'd get it! They knew the truth that Is why they continued with their silly propaganda without any facts. |

Richdad50: I pray not for Fayose and his travail but for the system of Justice in this country. If the rule of law that is meant to shape the country is being debased by the keepers of the law then the common man should be afraid. If there is much impetus to disobey the rule of law over an Elite, then the common man will find no mercy in the course of justice. When rational people cry that the law should be applied proportionately, it does not mean they are fighting for the Man in question but for you and i to have equal and fair treatment because of precedence. Oga abeg make we hear word! If you want to defend Fayose just go on and defend him and don't bring common man into this. There is nothing that common man has not seen in the hands of our leaders both civilian and military. Our prisons are full of common men that will stay locked for many years without ever smelling justice. If you want to fight against disregard for the rule of law then speakin defence of the defenceless and poor whose rights have been violated and not thieving politicians who lack nothing. Common man has seen so much and I feel he has nothing to fear again. |

Sports › Re: Ronaldo's Sponsors, Nike & EA, Express 'Deep Concerns' Over Rape Allegations by TEYA: 11:17am On Oct 05, 2018 |
ivolt: The woman can't be jailed. No law says an alleged rape victim shouldn't collect money. Of course, she could be charged with blackmail but then Ronaldo will have to admit to the rape for her to be convicted which is still unlikely because the court won't want to be seen as punishing a victim.
Ronaldo's biggest problem now is his sponsors because he also cannot be convicted in a court. Based on the available public information, there is no way out for Ronaldo.
If only he had avoided the party girl that night. An out of court settlement is not blackmail, it is a legal process. She cannot be convicted of blackmail. Michael Jackson did it when he was accused of assaulting a little boy, he paid off the parents of the boy and everything was swept under the carpet. In cases of out of court settlements, the accused's lawyers are even the ones there kick start the process to save their client's time, resources, embarrassment and the rigours of prolonged court cases. |

majekdom2: I will come harsh before you see what you like. If you want to be like Dangote, you have to be in Nigeria. Did Dangote emigrate? How many billionaires in Nigeria emigrated? Likes of Oviosu of paga had to relocate back to Nigeria. It’s not easy for a Nigeria to become a Dangote in the US. You can live average like your wife envisage, I mean you can live well. There is nothing wrong with emigration but what is your motivation. In assessing your motivation check your background. It is not strange that likes of Elon Musk and many successful founders are emigrants but if you check well, they emigrated at a very early age- childhood to teenage and are from saner climes. The rich Nigerians abroad have a good pedigree. I mean they went to the ivy leageues or had successful parents. If you are emigrating as a family man, you must have a very brilliant idea, some good money and a strong network to become Dangote abroad. It’s not easy starting a business as a foreigner. I have been there so my words are from experience. If your ambition is to be Dangote, you should stay back. If your ambition is to be okay with thousands of dollars, abroad is good for you. I like your comment man! I would love to make that comment myself but having to reply the many nairalanders that will attack it is a hurdle I am not willing to cross. Ever since I came back to Naija from Europe, no one has been able to convince me that making money abroad is easier than making money in Nigeria. |

wristbangle: The swift withdrawal of people from this man reflects how bad he has handle internal and external affairs of the state.
With the budget at his disposal, the least thing to be happening in Lagos is road construction. Much propaganda, arrogance and empty promises got hold of him as it transcend to his Jezebel wife who sacked a chaplain. I mean who does that? He made indigenes jobless by stopping PSP to inaugurate Vision less scope that till date I don't understand their mode of operation.
Though he did some cosmetic projects yet these couldn't reflect on the masses who faced agonizing experience in Lagos road routes.
Just two weeks ago, I plied lagos- badagry route and the experience was near hell. Painful, agonizing, dreadful, damaging, worst and terrible situation is all I could say about that place.
Inner roads in Lagos mainland, Island and almost every part of Lagos are potholes infected.
Lalasticlala, Mynd44, let's hear your views gentlemen Likely not true. It is just a reflection of the kind of politics we play. Some will abandon Ambode because they hate him, but many will leave him because they fear Tinubu. If after all the pleas, Tinubu refused to forgive Ambode, it shows he is hell bent on dealing with him and will not take it lightly with anyone that interferes. If Tinubu successfully kicks out Ambode and places another in his place and goes on to win lagos for Buhari next year, then he may go on to ride lagos like a horse for the rest of his life. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Is Going To London To Hustle Better Than An 80k Job In Nigeria? by TEYA: 6:46pm On Sep 29, 2018 |
omohayek: More innumerate rubbish. I've actually lived in the UK for a substantial amount of time, and unlike your barely-literate self, I've done so as a highly paid professional, making more than even the typical British doctor or barrister does until very late in their careers (think 6 figures in GBP). Even for those making at least £60k/year, life in London can be a struggle, with rents for 1-bedrooms in Zone 3 going for at least £1,200/month, rising to £2,200/month to live in a decent 1-bedroom in Zone 1. Even before getting to the issue of rent, UK taxes and national insurance are far higher than anything Nigerians are used to, and unless you're a long-term UK resident who is entitled to income support, you won't be getting any of that back to subsidise your lifestyle.
I repeat: anyone claiming as you do that one can make £30,000 a year in London while "hustling" is telling ridiculous lies. Even as a legal immigrant, without highly desirable skills the only sorts of jobs one can hope for are minimum wage roles, but the UK minimum wage is currently only £7.83, which works out to only £78.30 working as many as 10 hours a day, or less than £1,300/month if the job is a full-time one where one is guaranteed 40 hours/week: of course, typical minimum-wage jobs in fast-food, sanitation, supermarkets, etc. offer such sustained employment, most being at best part-time and highly irregular. This sort of money is barely enough to eat, pay for a travelcard, buy the cheapest second-hand clothes, and live in a dirty, cold, cramped bedsit far out from central London, which in turn means hours commuting each way to and from a sh*t job where you'll be treated by everyone as if you were less than human.
As for illegal immigrants who have no legal protections and must take whatever they can get working cash-only jobs, even the miserable existence of an unskilled legal resident will seem like heaven. What do you do when the farmer you've been breaking your back picking lettuce for decides he doesn't feel like paying you? What if the hotel where you've been washing dishes and cleaning toilets decides to only pay you £2.50/hour for your time, instead of the £5/hour they promised. Will you be stupid enough to report authorities who will immediately arrest you, throw you in a holding facility for 6 months and then deport you? Of course not, you'll keep your mouth shut and take whatever humiliation your illegal employer decides to dish out. The only way an illegal immigrant can "hustle" in London and make big money is by engaging in criminal activities like fraud and drug trafficking, and there are already more than enough such types in the UK disgracing Nigeria, thank you very much. You are expending so much time and energy preaching this sermon to him. erico2k2 and the rest of them on nairaland will never listen. I was in Edinburgh for a course and I saw Nigerians suffering all in the name of living in UK. Many went there believing they will do menial jobs and pay their fees with their earnings. Hmm. I left them there suffering long after their programme with interest accruing on their outstanding fees. Many Nigerians have failed to realise that the UK system was built for them not for us to go there and grow rich. |
