TravelRe: Family Relocation Abroad! Mature Advice /input Requested! by TEYA: 6:02pm On Oct 03, 2018
majekdom2:
I will come harsh before you see what you like. If you want to be like Dangote, you have to be in Nigeria. Did Dangote emigrate? How many billionaires in Nigeria emigrated? Likes of Oviosu of paga had to relocate back to Nigeria. It’s not easy for a Nigeria to become a Dangote in the US. You can live average like your wife envisage, I mean you can live well. There is nothing wrong with emigration but what is your motivation. In assessing your motivation check your background. It is not strange that likes of Elon Musk and many successful founders are emigrants but if you check well, they emigrated at a very early age- childhood to teenage and are from saner climes. The rich Nigerians abroad have a good pedigree. I mean they went to the ivy leageues or had successful parents. If you are emigrating as a family man, you must have a very brilliant idea, some good money and a strong network to become Dangote abroad. It’s not easy starting a business as a foreigner. I have been there so my words are from experience. If your ambition is to be Dangote, you should stay back. If your ambition is to be okay with thousands of dollars, abroad is good for you.
I like your comment man! I would love to make that comment myself but having to reply the many nairalanders that will attack it is a hurdle I am not willing to cross. Ever since I came back to Naija from Europe, no one has been able to convince me that making money abroad is easier than making money in Nigeria.

The swift withdrawal of people from this man reflects how bad he has handle internal and external affairs of the state.

With the budget at his disposal, the least thing to be happening in Lagos is road construction. Much propaganda, arrogance and empty promises got hold of him as it transcend to his Jezebel wife who sacked a chaplain. I mean who does that? He made indigenes jobless by stopping PSP to inaugurate Vision less scope that till date I don't understand their mode of operation.

Though he did some cosmetic projects yet these couldn't reflect on the masses who faced agonizing experience in Lagos road routes.

Just two weeks ago, I plied lagos- badagry route and the experience was near hell. Painful, agonizing, dreadful, damaging, worst and terrible situation is all I could say about that place.

Inner roads in Lagos mainland, Island and almost every part of Lagos are potholes infected.

Lalasticlala, Mynd44, let's hear your views gentlemen
Likely not true. It is just a reflection of the kind of politics we play. Some will abandon Ambode because they hate him, but many will leave him because they fear Tinubu. If after all the pleas, Tinubu refused to forgive Ambode, it shows he is hell bent on dealing with him and will not take it lightly with anyone that interferes. If Tinubu successfully kicks out Ambode and places another in his place and goes on to win lagos for Buhari next year, then he may go on to ride lagos like a horse for the rest of his life.

Just pass your point across and move on.. Any mature and sensible reader can decipher hard facts and sensibility when such is seen.
I'm currently making my way to the UK though, on work visa... My target is another country, just want to get the UK experience as it gives a better chance. I pray it turns out well..

Stay blessed bro.

omohayek:
More innumerate rubbish. I've actually lived in the UK for a substantial amount of time, and unlike your barely-literate self, I've done so as a highly paid professional, making more than even the typical British doctor or barrister does until very late in their careers (think 6 figures in GBP). Even for those making at least £60k/year, life in London can be a struggle, with rents for 1-bedrooms in Zone 3 going for at least £1,200/month, rising to £2,200/month to live in a decent 1-bedroom in Zone 1. Even before getting to the issue of rent, UK taxes and national insurance are far higher than anything Nigerians are used to, and unless you're a long-term UK resident who is entitled to income support, you won't be getting any of that back to subsidise your lifestyle.

I repeat: anyone claiming as you do that one can make £30,000 a year in London while "hustling" is telling ridiculous lies. Even as a legal immigrant, without highly desirable skills the only sorts of jobs one can hope for are minimum wage roles, but the UK minimum wage is currently only £7.83, which works out to only £78.30 working as many as 10 hours a day, or less than £1,300/month if the job is a full-time one where one is guaranteed 40 hours/week: of course, typical minimum-wage jobs in fast-food, sanitation, supermarkets, etc. offer such sustained employment, most being at best part-time and highly irregular. This sort of money is barely enough to eat, pay for a travelcard, buy the cheapest second-hand clothes, and live in a dirty, cold, cramped bedsit far out from central London, which in turn means hours commuting each way to and from a sh*t job where you'll be treated by everyone as if you were less than human.

As for illegal immigrants who have no legal protections and must take whatever they can get working cash-only jobs, even the miserable existence of an unskilled legal resident will seem like heaven. What do you do when the farmer you've been breaking your back picking lettuce for decides he doesn't feel like paying you? What if the hotel where you've been washing dishes and cleaning toilets decides to only pay you £2.50/hour for your time, instead of the £5/hour they promised. Will you be stupid enough to report authorities who will immediately arrest you, throw you in a holding facility for 6 months and then deport you? Of course not, you'll keep your mouth shut and take whatever humiliation your illegal employer decides to dish out. The only way an illegal immigrant can "hustle" in London and make big money is by engaging in criminal activities like fraud and drug trafficking, and there are already more than enough such types in the UK disgracing Nigeria, thank you very much.
You are expending so much time and energy preaching this sermon to him. erico2k2 and the rest of them on nairaland will never listen. I was in Edinburgh for a course and I saw Nigerians suffering all in the name of living in UK. Many went there believing they will do menial jobs and pay their fees with their earnings. Hmm. I left them there suffering long after their programme with interest accruing on their outstanding fees. Many Nigerians have failed to realise that the UK system was built for them not for us to go there and grow rich.

Can we stop blaming Nigerian leaders please... They're first humans before being a leader. Or are they not humans like us? Is it not people like you and I that are busy electing them into power despite knowing clearly how corrupt they can be? Then why blaming them?
In fact, our leaders has no share in the overall problems befalling this nation. What we need is a rethink, mental restructuring and intellectual overhauling. We also have to work on our emotional intelligence and use of feelings and sentimental approach in influencing our overall judgements. I'm beginning to doubt if what is inside Nigerians head is truly a brain or a dead panel. Even if it's a motherboard, I expect it to function more than that. Our major problem is that we keep taking delights in making the wrong decision. I gave up on my country some few years ago.
You nailed it succinctly! Our leaders were first Nigerians before they became Nigerian leaders. If there are good Nigerians in Nigeria (and I know there are), why do we always elect the wicked thieving ones?

hisgrace090:
Maybe you're under their payroll, our own problem is our inability to protest against wrongs happenings in the country.
He is so right! A people always get the kind of leaders they deserve. Right now as it stands, it is almost impossible for a decent man or woman to get elected into power in Nigeria, even if they manage to by some act of providence, the change they are trying to make will be repelled by the people they are trying to help.

Yep. You expect a President to have 100% support.
LOL. For every anti-Trump tweet, there is pro-Trump tweet. Keep whining about Trump. Economy is good. 401k is off the charts. Stock market is awesome. Unemployment is low. Everyone who is willing and capable can find jobs and not leeches on social welfare. Trump is the best. His personal life sucks but as a President, what else can you ask?
/
He has less than 50% support even at the point of election, so what are you saying?

Who cares?

Trump is for America and Americans. Get a President that is for Nigeria and Nigerians first. Your President can only address Nigerians from outside the country.

An average American is happy. That's all that matters. The thing I hate about Nigerians and political discussion is that it has to be railroaded into comparative analysis of the incumbent and the predecessor. Obama did his stint and deserves some accolades. We are dealing with Trump now and shall be judged by his actions pro or against good governance

How the hell did Obama get into this discussion? This is US not your shitly APC/PDP blind Nigeria. Are there any ideological differences between the two freaking parties?
How did Obama get into the discussion? Because trump mentioned he did more than any other president before him, that's how. My turn to ask you how APC and PDP got into this discussion?
He is a clown and an embarrassment to the "average american". Read a few of the tweets that followed his silly speech at the U.N.. those are the words of "average americans" and not the words of Nigerians beclouded by ethno religious sentiments.

Donald Trump is the best thing that has happened to US in a long time. The economy is booming. Unemployment is very low. He is repositioning US against other leechy nations. I wish Nigeria can present someone that is somewhat close to that level of patriotism.

When will you people stop being ridiculous? Obama became president in the peak of a recession, he pulled America out of a recession, revived the economy, kick started a wonderful health insurance scheme which will deliver good quality healthcare service affordably to ordinary Americans. Trump came and destroyed it and could not get a good replacement up til now. Guys stop being ridiculous! World leaders were laughing at trump at the U.N. General assembly.

Their husbands?

There's no excuse for being a deadbeat bad, it is irresponsible.

I pray those women will get their acts together. There are single mums in this world who made mistakes by lying with dogs, but they
can forget their "future", make better choices and get themselves a " Russell".
When you see a man and his acts scream "dead beat dad" but you go on to get pregnant for him, then you have to tale what you see. That a man is rich does not guarantee he will be responsible. Those girls should go and sleep on the beds they made.

Some of this women will use this children to milk money for themselves as well.

Get a sales girl job. That you gave birth to a child for Wizz does not mean you should not work.

Aside these women are greedy fools. Yeah I said it. This guy is a bad boy. We're you expecting him to be home for dinner as well.

Forget what you see, look again. They are wild boys. Not domesticated ones like me and my friend Samuel. Am talking real wild. If you dont understand me watch ngeo wild and see nature. Wild tigers only show up for mating seasons. And after that take off. It's their life. It's fun watching them on tv. But learn to use your brain.

If you want a regular life find a regular guy.

Many of this girls will see, my friend Samuel and ignore him because he is too regular.

They just don't want to hear the truth.

I only feel for the child not them.
I wonder o! Did they really take in for wiz kid thinking she was rolling with a gentleman? Did they not see wildness in him? Did they think every rich man is responsible?
Shay they thought baby mama is a job. They should manage their mess o!
