Sometimes it is better not commenting or you rather read well to understand why such reply cropped up.

It is far much better she put it as this is how my state prepares it than saying ogili is over rated just to justify the eternal poison she cooked...

Nobody is questioning her preference but she is doing just that...
If that's how she likes it, then damn it and leave it to her. Cook your own your way. Besides she is not running a restaurant.
I'm sure you don't cook Ofe nsala the way my people cook it too. Don't be petty man. Pocohantas has the right to cook it anyway it suits her taste, if she opens a restaurant in Onitsha or in Nando my hometown and cooks it without ogiri, nobody will tell her to cook it to standard before she will do so or if it is for a wedding ceremony then you can scold her. But for now, its her personal taste

Igboid:
You don't know what you speak of.

I have been to rural Abia and Imo and they all cook Oha and Olugbu soups as native traditional soups.
They never learnt it from Anambra. Abia and Imo don't know what is Ora. What they know is Uha/Oha and all local compounds there traditionally have Oha trees for easy plucking and cooking of the soup.
You can't start speaking on these things when you have never visited these parts. It's insulting and smacks of arrogance.

There are foods perculiar to parts of Igboland. But Oha and Olugbu is not part of it.
As both of them are very universal in Igboland.
Bro reading your comments and I'm glad I'm not the only sane person here. Is it that these are kids online or these adults are just being petty and having fun cos the comments I'm seeing here are just ignorant narrow and worrisome.
Our people need to travel more across Igbo land.
We need to learn about and appreciate everybody from everywhere and drop this Nonsense state-boundary divisions.
I'm from Nando in Omambala , or Mbammili axis as many people call it but I know and appreciate people from Anioma axis, Nri, Orlu, Mbaise, Enugu, Nsukka, Ezza, Ngwa, Ikwerre, Egbema etc, people should appreciate and understand the differences of people in all these regions and banish this state divisions.
Before state divisions, we all were even under one state called Eastern region.

You are not from Anambra and you will never be an authority in deciding how we make our food. As an outsider , you try be a little humble. Ogili is the soul of Anambra dishes. You can say you dont cook our Anambra dish with ogili and stop right there. Food is part of Anambra culture and we protect even a rotten goat from Anambra.

By the way , why are you hidding your state of origin but quick to call us supremacists ?
You Igbo call your Anambra Igbos money ritualists, illiterates , drug pushers but at every turn you are enjoying and consuming our cultures grin grin grin

Nna rest nah, that's her preference. If she doesn't like ogiri, no problem, you cook your own with ogiri. It's agreed we Anambra pple eat ogiri very well, let other regions eat their preference

Dear Poco,
I have been following your thread, and I must commend you for your good cooking knowledge. I have learnt a lot from you, and I try to practice once in a while following your methods step by step. Thank you a lot.

However, I find your submission about Anambra men very disturbing, infact I got irritated at some point, and wondered what Anambra men must have done to you....I know you are very intelligent and understand the danger of reckless generalisation. How can you even say majority of Anambra men are supremacist? I'm from Anambra and I'm not! I have relatives and they are not!
Again, I think you have problem with Igbo Men in general....not just Anambra men..

Poco, I'm sorry to say this, you hate Igbo men!!!
Just see the way you described Abiribia and Ngwa men...

Nne, I still love your threads a lot. But, then I will advice you stop making derogatory comments about Anambra men and other Igbo men... It is disgusting.... Ebonyi people are also talking thrash about Anambra men.... I schooled in Ebonyi State University Abakaliki.... The discrimination I experienced there was way too much, so it's just everywhere.
this is very true, from beginning to end , you just photocopied my mind sir.
Let's leave out our random personal experiences when qualifying a group of people. I'm sure somebody somewhere will have sth bad to say about people from her hometown too.

My dad has been dead for 11 years now and I need a man for my mum cause she is going to get lonely. She will be 55 next year, we have started getting married and her youngest child will soon leave her for NYSC.

Loneliness kills. Marriage is till death do any of the parties part.

There is nothing wrong with your girl suggesting your mum remarries, she's obviously more mature than you are.
my dad died last yr, my siblings are scattered asides two at home but I'm already bearing the burden of being the man in my mum's life. The woman calls me on the phone pratically daily since last year. I won't mind if she remarries now , make I rest abeg. loneliness kills, I have been staying alone in my flat since my flatmates travelled cos of lockdown and I can say very well that loneliness is not good for mental health

Please I have a question.
When is the right time to make good friends, Is it during your NYSC or during your days in the university? I mean friends that can assist you in time to come. Because I find it so difficult to associate with people that are not in my department and also my course mate are just so envious to be such close friends.
Make frnds everywhere. The easiest way to make friends across faculties and depts in school is by joining groups. Church groups, sports group. Take them serious and meet people of diverse interest, your classmates might not know your worth.

DIY New/Fresh International passport

Stage 1: Register on their website and pay 25k +1k for service charge...total 26k

Stage 2: still on the website, print guarantors form, acknowledgement form and Payment Receipt.

Stage 3: Take the form to your guarantor to fill, your guarantor will attached passport photograph, photocopy of international passport data page, and photocopy of NIN or Drivers licence.

Stage 4: Take the guarantor's form to court for stamp(they will collect 500 naira or 1k)

Step 5: Go to your selected centre for capturing
I used Ikoyi, Lagos State, so I will be using Ikoyi as an example.

Doc to take to Ikoyi, passport office
1. Application form
2. Acknowledgement form
3. Payment Receipt
4. Filled and stamp guarantors form with international passport DATA page and NIN slip or Drivers licence
5. 2 passport photograph (your own)
6. Photocopy of NIN slip
7. Photocopy of Birth certificate
8. Photocopy of State of Origin

You can also go with original of 6,7 and 8

Step 6: When you enter Ikoyi passport office, by the right hand you will see a "Servicecom" sign, speak with any of the staff sitting inside the cubicle.
He/she will collect all your document vet it and return it with a another documents and ask you to photo it and fill(make sure you photocopy it before filling)

After filling retire it to the "ServiceCom" person . He or she will open a file for you and write places you have to go for signing and stamping.

After stamping in one place, ask the person "where is next" politely and follow through the process.
When you're done with capturing, before stepping out of the capturing hall, a man will collect your file and register it. After that, take your file back to the "ServiceCom" personnel and your DONE.

God bless Nigeria and God bless everyone that contributed on here.
Please what's the difference between e-passport and standard? I applied for standard online

I will advice you use Lagos, Ikoyi to be precise. It'sfaster and easier there. You can abandoned/discard the previous registration(I did same) since you have not paid as it has been confirmed that it's stressful in Abeokuta.

As for the guarantor, the gurus said you can use anyone with Valid international passport, driving licence or National ID card.
that is the issue, I have nobody here to use asides fellow corpers that have voters card.
What's the difference between e passport and standard passport please. which one did u register for?

If you want to use Lagos, Ikoyi and Ikeja precisely you can only get the enhanced passport which is 25000 plus 1000 service charge. The process is very easy and straightforward once you have all your documents. Make payment, get all documents ready and proceed to Ikoyi passport office. Ask of servicom, and you can continue from there. For the guarantor, you can get anyone who has drivers license or national I'd card and a valid international passport.

You also need to get NIN slip to proceed with the enhanced passport. I hope this helps
Thanks very much for this, I have all, I got my nin slip in 2014, my problem is getting somebody as the guarantor. I'm new in my area, I came here for service.

Can I use a fellow corp member's voters card as guarantor?

Please where is the office in lagos? They have booklet there?

DIY still remains the best Sis. Esp if you can go to other states. Officials will treat you like someone who is learned and knows what is doing. Sometimes they think you are one of those sent to "check" the system.

Besides, the difference no be small o. You could save 15 - 30k doing it yourself. shocked grin

My fear is, they can delay you for months just for collection embarassed sad Because dey no see your money undecided chop
Hello sir, after reading your comment I have successfully applied online for 32 page standard passport for 17k. I have all the requirements except "for guarantor form signed by Commissioner of oath".
I don't have any body to use as guarantor.

My location is abeokuta, however I went through some messages now and it seems that most people here go to Lagos passport office cos is faster.

My question is what do you advise i do now, should I discard the registration and go to Lagos Office and start afresh or should I go to abeokuta office tomorrow with the documents I have? I haven't paid yet.

A friend told me that I will still bribe them no matter what. And also there are no booklets there for now.

I need advice please mimilyrics Rayhanna bennymine Exmay02 Tee24 A2J and other experienced people help

Hmm, This is a strong and serious topic. I commend the Op for creating this thread. I've only told this to one person and I've been carrying this one for 9 years now.
This might turn out to be a little long, so bear with me. When I was 17, a few days to my first WAEC, I was reading in the living room when my mom walked in and falsely accused me of sleeping with my own Dad... Oh, I'm a guy btw and I'm not gay. She claimed she saw my Dad touching me and that he slept with me. I was stunned. I went through different ranges of emotions. At first, I wanted to curse her, then I wanted the ground to swallow me up for real, then I wanted to cry, and then I wanted to scream, tears just filled my eyes, and the first thing that came out of my mouth was "Why are you doing this?" and then she just walked out. I just sat there losing my mind, I knew it was untrue because there's no way you would penetrate a guy without him feeling it, right? Not to mention the fact that I have no memory of this ever happening. And yet she claimed she saw this happening, if that was true, why didn't she stop it? Long story short, that was the day my life got turned upside down by my own Mom. The not so funny thing is, she never once brought up that issue again since then, and yet she never apologized for it (not that I'd ever forgive her anyway). Dad has no clue about this issue, by the way.
wtf? and you haven't asked her where this came from?
FamilyRe: Most Painful Thing Done To You By Your Parents by Thane(m): 10:08am On Jun 27, 2020
sunmarouk:
Ehmmm, serous topic.
As the first son, having a step mom at a young age made me swallow any maltreatment and injustice. Whenever I react, my dad will always ask me, is this how I will behave as the first son? Any crime of anyone will be put on me and I will willingly accept the punishment in the name of first son.
My dad also compares me with other people outside, not knowing that the kind of support they received, I have not seen it. For example, a cousin of mine goes to his family house every weekend, what my father doesn't know or pretends not to know, is that, the guy receive 10k every weekend for fueling on the same car his parents bought for him. And he expects me to be treking home every weekend.

My father disowned me for not coming out with a First Class. After family intervention and pleas from every angle, I had to re-do another same degree in another course and I came out with First Class. At the end, he couldn't help secure any job with it, for me at all. It's like I wasted extra 3years of my life for nothing.
My both parents will be driving past me on the street, while I will be treking behind, making people wonder if he's truly my father.

He can send you on errands with his car many times, the day you decide to see a friend or branch somewhere with his car, he will say, he is testing. It's that time, he will remember you can't buy the tyre if it bursts. So, I stop going on any errand. I rather prefer to be treking, than let people think I have a car(that I can't carry). He did this till I was almost 30yrs, and still saying he's testing me. I started disowning and disassociating myself from everything he owns.

my Father always says, he doesn't depend on any of us, that all what he needs for life, even after retirement has been arranged. At anytime he can sell anything. That we should all go and die. The thing is sounding like, he doesn't want any of us to succeed.

The way he suffered for his money, he expects everyone should suffer for theirs too. He practically threw me out of the house while I was still in school.
Am renting a house in a city where my parents have different houses in different places. I never thought I would ever have be stranded house wise, after he deceived me by saying the house belongs to me. I practically supervised the completion of three house, but didn't get to enter anyone. I was once again stranded.
Am done listening to him, tired of being a good child and tossing me here and there.
I relocated, blocked all communications, no one knows where I am for over one year now. But, he has been sending some few cash during this lock down, which am grateful for. Cos, this lock down been hold me oooo
Damn, who are they piling up the money for then?

Chicent:
So during the main lockdown that lasted weeks my friend had a visitor guy, We had all been having fun while self isolating too. So on one of those days around 8:40pm the visitor started shaking severely, I heard my name after trying to figure out where the noise was coming from though i didn't want to approach at first when I rushed to their room but on a second thought of if its covid we all were already affected too because we have been together all along but then he was breathing well enough so no cause for alarm we carried him to the car zoomed.

We needed to take him to the hospital and on our way Nigeria Police stopped us and with their normal queries we explained to them even though they have eyes, but to our outmost dismay they said we are going to pay 10k for them to allow us to pass or we are all going to the station.

I refused stood my grounds that there is an emergency and we are not going to bribe them because they can actually see for themselves, after delaying us and with much threat to them. They finally agreed to take us to their Oga at the station we said fine and good. We got to the station and they refused us to enter inside(they probably don't want to die if its actually covid) we had to wait for them in the car outside of course with 2 of them mounting guard on us.

These armed robbers in uniform delayed us and after close to an hour which we became furious and started banging on their gate they came out and asked us to go, like seriously?? They purposely wasted our time because we didn't give them money. Oh Nigeria!!!

Well we later got to the hospital and he was admitted and given drip then he became stable. He got better though and was discharged 2days later. Glory to God.

After the lockdown was eased we drove back to the station and requested to see the DPO and after narrating what happened he apologized, what else can he do or would have done. After all our friend is fine so we just bounced.
