Mr. Tunji-Ojo is no longer the Minister of Interior; just change his portfolio to Minister of Passport. He doesn't understand his ministry beyond passports.

Nigerian prisons need urgent reforms. Inmates are treated like wild animals in cages, including people who were wrongly accused and are awaiting trials. Meanwhile, the minister who is supposed to address that is obsessed with passports!

There are 4 Agencies under Interior Ministry, the Minister only Focused is Passport because of his Personal interest of bringing his own Firm into Passport Administration to receive a share/cut of every Passport Application. The recent increment of passport fee to 100k and 200k was no other reason other than his own personal gain.
The interior Minister assumed office wen passport fee was 5yrs - 25k and 10yrs - 70k. But In less than 2yrs he increased the fee to 100k and 200k and introduced Hidden charges of 4k and 8k per Application which goes to his private firm.
The Other 3 Agencies (excluding NIS-Passport) under the same minister supervision have felt no positive impact of the minister of interior(passport) because there's no much to person interest/gain from those 3 agencies.

Federal Fire service should as well be moved from Ministry of Interior to Ministry of Disaster Management.

Road safety should be moved to Ministry of Transportation

Don't mind him, he's mentioning Omo-Agege but failed to Acknowledge Delta State Ex-Gov Okowa who dismantled the combined forces of Both Omo-Agege and Almighty Ibori Political Grip on the state affairs.
He also failed to Acknowledge the Edo Gov Obaseki that Resisted the encroachment of Balablu Lagos politics into Edo state.

Immigration paid their new recruited officers from the date on the Appointment Letter

Nscdc paid their new recruited officers from April to June instead of paying dem from January to June.

The appointment letter is very fake.
That's level 08 appointment letter format. But it's carrying level 07.
Secondly the salary is for level 08 officers. There's no way level 07 salary will be same with level 08.
Better asked for refund of your money before it's too late to recover

I've made payment for myself. The way he works is, you've gotta pay before you receive your letter, I paid to receive mine, he's asking my friends to pay to get theirs. So I'm asking for the authenticity of my own letter so I can advice my friend whether or notthey should pay.

Nscdc officers suddenly becoming the most endangered security Outfit After Police. The way and manner they(nscdc personnels) are been killed by Gunmen is becoming alarming and scary. The news has always been, so, so number of soldiers killed by bandit/ISWAP, then it later added police officers been killed on frequent basis by unknown gunmen in the East, Now nscdc has suddenly joined security personnel been killed on frequent basis.

Being in intelligence unit doesn't mean to seat down in office, it's also part of operation that handle investigation, information/intelligence gathering.

It's also has nothing to do with working with VIP.

Those working with VIP are mostly deployed as Orderly or Personal Security Guard and Escort to politicians especially in this forthcoming election era.

Given the controversy that my bill has caused - the bill seeks to absorb the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) into the Nigerian Police Force and set a transitional framework to achieve this objective - I shall weigh in and make certain clarifications about the proposed bill.

On Tuesday, the 1st of February 2022, the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (Repeal and Enactment) Bill that I sponsored was read for the first time in the House of Representatives.

Expectedly, while some understand and align themselves with the points raised in the bill, some either unknowingly missed the points or deliberately misconstrued the content for reasons best known to them.

Contrary to what is being falsely spread by some people, the bill is not about scrapping NSCDC but merging the agency with the Nigeria Police Force to achieve better results in policing.

The bill do not in any way seeks to render people jobless rather the bill proposes the transfer of assets and personnel of the NSCDC to the Nigera Police. In other words, assets and personnel will be absorbed by the Police; so there won't be loss of jobs.

Recall that the NSCDC was established by statute in the year 2003 to exist and operate as an ancillary force, assisting the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in maintaining public order, engaging with civilian populations in times of emergency, and other such adjunct functions.

The creation of the Corps was supposed to free officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to focus on their core policing operations of protecting lives and ensuring the security of property.

Since then, the nature of the NSCDC has changed. Rather than exist as, and perform the role of an ancillary force, the NSCDC now includes an armed component and performs policing functions across the country. Predictably, this overlap of functions and jurisdictions has led to increasing conflicts between the NSCDC and the Nigerian Police.

This proposed bill should serve as a trigger to constructive debates and conversations that end with substantive reforms in the best interest of the nation.

Shockingly, the leadership of the NSCDC withdrew security details attached to me, as a result of my proposed bill, although after the news was made public, NSCDC reversed itself. A situation like this calls for serious concerns.

In conclusion, fragmentation of security resources across multiple competing agencies is counterproductive, coupled with the fact that we have limited resources. What's the essence of having multiple security agencies with no desirable result when we can harness the resources together to make our Police Force more efficient? This is what the bill seeks to achieve.

In essence, you are saying all successful applicants will be "arm-wielding" personnel right? If not, you would not have used it as a reason why induction is impossible with NSCDC. Whether induction takes place or not depends on the powers that be and I am sure the "arm-wielding" reason will not be at the fulcrum of the decision.

Meanwhile, I employ you to stop this your Immigration and Civil Defence comparison. I have followed most of your posts and it is always about trying too hard to show how Immigration is "superior"

I also remember how you berated us for talking about NSCDC on immigration thread but when you were offered the immigration job, you came here to announce it and many of us congratulated you, while others liked the comment. Of course, we have class and more accommodating!

Oga nscdc is mainly security outfit with less office activities/function unlike immigration and correctional. The major essence of nscdc recruitment is to cumbat crime in conjunction with police And military. Outside Bearing Arms Immigration has many other functions such as Issuance of passport, Visa/Residence Permit, Repriatation and deportation of foreigners, ECOWAS traveling certificate, expatiate CERPAC, and many more. induction course enable new to learn these office work pending wen they are trained. I don't think there's any much other functions of nscdc outside security. Maybe that's why CG is not buying the idea of induction, but instead new ncsdc officers should go for full training.
because if they adopt immigration method, what will new officers be doing after induction pending wen mobilized for Training. They can't deploy someone not trained on arms handling to man check points or to fight vandalism

Meanwhile there are many things, 'unapprehendable' things about your story. No body is talking about training. They could release the list, get people documented, have them do an induction course and start work. If there is no finance for training now, it could come later (service is for 35 years na). Training must not happen now.

I am sure they are aware that new recruits may not need to go for training straightaway. See, I have people who entered the correctional service in 2019. Some have not gone for training.

Just imagine, the insignificant increments they blowing trumpet for. The last salary increase for police was done about 10yrs ago. You increasing someone salary with 8k(20%)with 10years interval shouldn't be celebrated.
I was expecting at least 60-70% increments.
Custom service got their salary increased by over 100% last year, what stops police from getting similar increments.

I have made the enquiry from so many officers in my command. The reply they all gave me is that In IMMIGRATION, there's no Officer at level 08 on inspectorate cadre. All level 08 officers are on supretendent cadre with one Star on their shoulder. Have equally ask some officers on inspectorate cadre, dey said non of them is on level 08. There's no level 08 inspector since after 2020 harmonization of Rank
