Christianity EtcRe: Jesus Was A Black Man by ThaProphet(m): 12:51am On Feb 23, 2015

From your above comment, take a critical look at the 2nd and 3rd line, *if the god you worship doesnt look like you, then you are in bondage*.

What does this mean? You implied that your god looks like you which also means that you have seen your god. How on earth would you have known that your god looks like you if you havent seen him? Again i ask, do you have problems comprehending what you wrote down?
Oh my...

Let me break it down for you.

What is this thread about? It is about the image of Jesus, right? Now, pay attention...

If the God you worship does not look like you (white Jesus does not look like a black man), then you are in bondage.

How this translates into "I have seen my own God" is a mystery to me. The statement does not even suggest that I believe in any God that might look like me lol.

Basically, what you are saying I implied is the meaning YOU CHOSE to associate with my statement. It's all on you bro.

Do you have problem with comprehension? Read through your previous comments and see where u said that the god u worship is the same colour as u. now who is making things up?
Lol...Let me help you. This is what I said:

If the God you worship does not look like you, then you are in bondage. Spiritual prisoners of other people."

Now, where is the suggestion that I have seen God and I know he/she/it looks like me?

"Jesus" (the Jesus that my people have been given) does not look like black people so, my statement is accurate.

Talk about comprehension.

So you have seen the god you worship? And your god looks like you? Wow! That's very odd and doesn't make sense one bit.

For me, I haven't seen my God because even the Bible says that no man can see Him and yet live.
Lol...folks be making ish up. Where in my post did I suggest that?

Also, why would the God of a people not look like the people who worship that God?

In Hinduism, their God, Krishna is blacker than raw gold but they felt the need to change the image in order to confirm with their own colour. Same with Buddha in Buddhism.

@ op, are you a racist?

Is the skin colour of Jesus Christ any important? If it really was, I am sure it would have been clearly penned down in the Bible.

I read somewhere that not all the activities of Jesus Christ was penned in the Bible. Imagine writing down everything Jesus Christ did during his brief stay on earth. Even a duplex would not contain all the write-ups. So whatever is recorded in the Bible are things that are NECESSARY for salvation.

So @op, invest more of your energies and time into carrying out the commands in the Bible as they are written and stop engaging in frivolous and mundane things like the skin colour of Jesus Christ.
If the skin colour is not important, why were there obvious concerted efforts to whitewash history and paint him white? Obviously, the skin colour of Christ is important to white folks.

If the God you worship does not look like you, then you are in bondage. Spiritual prisoners of other people.

Back to topic...

The early paintings of Christ actually depicts a black Jesus. The famous picture of the Last supper: Da vinci was told to use his own family as a model for that picture after he complained that there is no way to find a model family that truly depicts the image of Christ and his disciples.

It's quite a pity u neva owned umbrella in ur life but u use Umbrella everyday! Anything that shade away the harsh weather condition from u is an umbrella. The house u live is an umbrella. The cars u drive, church, mosque, keke, canopy, school buildings just mention them. My guy,the are all Umbrella. Otondo!
Lol. Well, if we want to look at it that way. Same can be said for the broom as well. As long as you clean and tidy up, you use a broom.

I don't think it's a pity that I've never owned an umbrella. I actually see it as a blessing. Rain is a blessing and the sun is a blessing too. I have never really missed having an umbrella though.
PoliticsRe: Broom And Umbrella Which Is More Important? by ThaProphet(m): 3:12am On Feb 01, 2015
They don't use brooms in "developed" countries? Are you kidding me? Where did the name "broom" come from? They use it all the time...brooms are made of different materials.

To answer the question, non-partisan, I value the broom more than an umbrella. I've never owned an umbrella in my life.

Well, at least 12 year olds wouldn't be beaten/abused and also "kpanshed" as well. We've heard stories of sexual abuses of minors too.

I still advocate school over being a maid.

But still, we hear stories of 12 years old being beat up by their "madams" and also stories of 12 years old being molested by their male "ogas". These kids often suffer both ways.
FamilyRe: Woman Almost Killed Her 12 Year Old Maid In Ibadan (Graphic Photos) by ThaProphet(m): 4:40pm On Jan 26, 2015
12 years old? She should be in school ideally. I know she might be going to school as well but she shouldn't be working at all.

Having Under-aged maids should be banned. Minimum age should be 16...perhaps people would think twice before attempting to beat up a 16/17 year old.

FoodRe: Why Do Nigerians Hate Local Rice? by ThaProphet(m): 10:05pm On Jan 03, 2015
These same people are the ones who'd be the first to complain about the economy of the country.

How would your local rice improve in quality if it is not getting the necessary funds through your patronage? Complain about quality yet you refuse to give the local product the opportunity to improve only to then complain about it later.

This applies to those "at the top" as well. I am sure Aso Rock stocks imported rice as well.

Stupidity!

Slavery is not classified as racism sir. Because in those early days even whites r enslaved too. If your could analyse both terms and relating with this picture, i think you will understand better.
My analogy was not about slavery and racism. It was mainly about slavery. It was aimed at the logic used by the person I quoted which suggests that because a little kid was sitting next to the white men, the white men automatically are not racist. Hence the reason for my analogy.

Now unto Slavery and Racism since its been brought up. Both concepts, although different in dictionary meaning are not mutually exclusive. They often happen in tandem.

It is not as simplistic as saying "slavery is not classified as racism".

Whites were enslaved too but you need to understand that "slavery" exists in different forms and within the so called "white race", there exists differences. However, I am speaking as an African person and in the context of this particular picture. The picture portrays both slavery and racism.

Racism is actually a very recent concept. It was invented in order to justify slavery and colonialism. So, there's a nexus between the two concepts. At least from an African reality. Why then would - in order to justify slavery - the church have a debate on whether or not African people have souls? They argued that Africans have no soul and therefore, are lesser humans thus, their slavery is justified = slavery and racism working together.

Racism also only exists within the power dynamic. Without power, there really is no racism, just prejudice.

How about d black kid sitting on the chair?
So, if I enslave your entire family and make them work on my farms all chained together but I allow the youngest member of your family to stay inside my house, I am not a slave master? huh

Problem is; majority see racism as a particular race not wanting to be around or mix withanother race. With this flawed logic, we can as well assume that racism no longer exists. Right undecided

Are you people that stu pid? seriously are Nigerians this stu pid? There is nothing racial about the pic? you mean to tell me that the white men in that pic viewed those black servants as their equal? Its freaking 1923, the British weren't in Nigeria because they viewed us as equals. They were there to exploit us because in there minds they were the master race, and despite this fact its somehow not a Racial pic but a "Creative" one. Ignorance is truly a disease in Nigeria, the lot of you need to go to school. Wow, this ticked me off.
100%!!

In response to your first line, I would really struggle to say No. The display of ignorance on this thread is ridiculous. Even the KKK would admit that the picture is racist.

u will be asking questions like will the money do this or that? What was the husband suppose to claim? The doctors life? So because money or nothing would bring the wife back, he should have sat on his asś and done nothing.
The lawsuit is enough to close the hospital down and suspend the quacks' licenses if they have any at all. It saves other lives that might fall victim. And if he gets the money, he can give that innocent little one a better life. Who knows the amount of neurological damage that might have occurred in that baby due to the injury sustained.
100% agree.

I don't get how people think sometimes. Nigerians need to stop being docile and stop "leaving everything to God". That's the reason the country is the way it is now.

Rest in Power to the life lost. In hope the baby recovers fully (physically and psychologically.

These so called foreign professionals are often times not up to standard in their own countries which is why they go to countries where they can fool people. India produces many great doctors every year but the highly skilled ones rarely ever go to countries like Nigeria when there is a lot of demand for them in Europe.

If the story is true, I hope the man gets justice.

Forgetting his own deeds.. The same way its not right in christanity- to islam-to tradition.. Its not right in any sphere, so the guy should check himself.. Even I am certain the baba won't attack, but there are spirits that follow her.. And will definitely attack him for breaking her heart.. So what if the father is a "native doctor"? It doesn't necessarily mean "evil". I've seen shitloads of evil Christians too. What type of "native doctor" is he? Herbalist or a priest of some sort? There are differences.

I bet if the father were to be an imam, you wouldn't be at all worried, would you?

Well, the bible uses language, doesn't it? A "chosen" generation. So, whether spiritual or not, some were not chosen. Correct me if I am wrong. So, their task is to try all their lives to meet the criteria set to become chosen or become lost forever?

Saint? Sainthood is determined by humans.

Perhaps I need to drink from this well that you speak of. grin

While I do somewhat believe in the spiritual, I don't dwell much on it. I suppose, I could do a better job at that.

See, your last paragraph is where I jump off the boat. I do not believe in such a thing as the "elect". It suggests that there are the "unelected". Those destined to be underprivileged. It's kind of ironic as well when I examine your Bank job example. It's quite peculiar, isn't it? Perhaps, your friend got the job instead of you because he/she was the "elect"? I know that I have drifted off the spiritual there but it still follows.

If we have an "elect" (in a sense, the elite) who have been given secrets then, isn't it unfair? No equal opportunities for all?
