uboma:Oh my... Let me break it down for you. What is this thread about? It is about the image of Jesus, right? Now, pay attention... If the God you worship does not look like you (white Jesus does not look like a black man), then you are in bondage. How this translates into "I have seen my own God" is a mystery to me. The statement does not even suggest that I believe in any God that might look like me lol. Basically, what you are saying I implied is the meaning YOU CHOSE to associate with my statement. It's all on you bro. |
uboma:Lol...Let me help you. This is what I said: If the God you worship does not look like you, then you are in bondage. Spiritual prisoners of other people." Now, where is the suggestion that I have seen God and I know he/she/it looks like me? "Jesus" (the Jesus that my people have been given) does not look like black people so, my statement is accurate. Talk about comprehension. |
I would describe myself as an introvert but I love spending time with my lady always. |
uboma:Lol...folks be making ish up. Where in my post did I suggest that? Also, why would the God of a people not look like the people who worship that God? In Hinduism, their God, Krishna is blacker than raw gold but they felt the need to change the image in order to confirm with their own colour. Same with Buddha in Buddhism. |
uboma:If the skin colour is not important, why were there obvious concerted efforts to whitewash history and paint him white? Obviously, the skin colour of Christ is important to white folks. If the God you worship does not look like you, then you are in bondage. Spiritual prisoners of other people. Back to topic... The early paintings of Christ actually depicts a black Jesus. The famous picture of the Last supper: Da vinci was told to use his own family as a model for that picture after he complained that there is no way to find a model family that truly depicts the image of Christ and his disciples. |
Saryea83:Lol. Well, if we want to look at it that way. Same can be said for the broom as well. As long as you clean and tidy up, you use a broom. I don't think it's a pity that I've never owned an umbrella. I actually see it as a blessing. Rain is a blessing and the sun is a blessing too. I have never really missed having an umbrella though. |
They don't use brooms in "developed" countries? Are you kidding me? Where did the name "broom" come from? They use it all the time...brooms are made of different materials. To answer the question, non-partisan, I value the broom more than an umbrella. I've never owned an umbrella in my life. |
krall:Well, at least 12 year olds wouldn't be beaten/abused and also "kpanshed" as well. We've heard stories of sexual abuses of minors too. I still advocate school over being a maid. |
DoTheNeedful:Well, I never thought about the NAHN, when I wrote that. ![]() But still, we hear stories of 12 years old being beat up by their "madams" and also stories of 12 years old being molested by their male "ogas". These kids often suffer both ways. |
12 years old? She should be in school ideally. I know she might be going to school as well but she shouldn't be working at all. Having Under-aged maids should be banned. Minimum age should be 16...perhaps people would think twice before attempting to beat up a 16/17 year old. |
lozanni:Exactly |
Beautiful woman! |
Lol...this is "badluck". |
Ondo - best contestant. The only one out of the lot who'd go to bed after a party and still look the same in the morning. Lagos is cool too. Osun has wide cheekbones...which I find strangely attractive. Maybe it's just me. |
It's the man's body so, it is his fault... |
alaoeri:As clear as day! Simples! |
These same people are the ones who'd be the first to complain about the economy of the country. How would your local rice improve in quality if it is not getting the necessary funds through your patronage? Complain about quality yet you refuse to give the local product the opportunity to improve only to then complain about it later. This applies to those "at the top" as well. I am sure Aso Rock stocks imported rice as well. Stupidity! |
eby001:Blood of Jesus bottled water? That sounds cannibalistic ![]() |
Wth?! There should also be a Shango Olukoso avenue or Obatala Crescent. |
PapiDShipCapt:My analogy was not about slavery and racism. It was mainly about slavery. It was aimed at the logic used by the person I quoted which suggests that because a little kid was sitting next to the white men, the white men automatically are not racist. Hence the reason for my analogy. Now unto Slavery and Racism since its been brought up. Both concepts, although different in dictionary meaning are not mutually exclusive. They often happen in tandem. It is not as simplistic as saying "slavery is not classified as racism". Whites were enslaved too but you need to understand that "slavery" exists in different forms and within the so called "white race", there exists differences. However, I am speaking as an African person and in the context of this particular picture. The picture portrays both slavery and racism. Racism is actually a very recent concept. It was invented in order to justify slavery and colonialism. So, there's a nexus between the two concepts. At least from an African reality. Why then would - in order to justify slavery - the church have a debate on whether or not African people have souls? They argued that Africans have no soul and therefore, are lesser humans thus, their slavery is justified = slavery and racism working together. Racism also only exists within the power dynamic. Without power, there really is no racism, just prejudice. |
PapiDShipCapt:So, if I enslave your entire family and make them work on my farms all chained together but I allow the youngest member of your family to stay inside my house, I am not a slave master? ![]() Problem is; majority see racism as a particular race not wanting to be around or mix withanother race. With this flawed logic, we can as well assume that racism no longer exists. Right ![]() |
Daverytimes:100%!! In response to your first line, I would really struggle to say No. The display of ignorance on this thread is ridiculous. Even the KKK would admit that the picture is racist. |
"little black boy sitting in the middle of the whites" therefore, no racism. ![]() My people ![]() |
slimshadie:Now that's what I'm talking about! |
Wtf? It's now a crime to tell your buddies that you miss them? Where are these people from? ![]() |
DollyParton1:100% agree. I don't get how people think sometimes. Nigerians need to stop being docile and stop "leaving everything to God". That's the reason the country is the way it is now. Rest in Power to the life lost. In hope the baby recovers fully (physically and psychologically. These so called foreign professionals are often times not up to standard in their own countries which is why they go to countries where they can fool people. India produces many great doctors every year but the highly skilled ones rarely ever go to countries like Nigeria when there is a lot of demand for them in Europe. If the story is true, I hope the man gets justice. |
iamord:Only comment that makes sense |
So what if the father is a "native doctor"? It doesn't necessarily mean "evil". I've seen shitloads of evil Christians too. What type of "native doctor" is he? Herbalist or a priest of some sort? There are differences. I bet if the father were to be an imam, you wouldn't be at all worried, would you? |
Looks like the embargo might get a review soon with the current diplomatic development. US still arrogant claiming it is concerned about a "brutal" cuban regime and the human rights of Cubans. Complete BS. It would be interesting what happens in the next couple of years. |
koife:Ah...many thanks for your kind offer but I think I'd pass. I'd feel a bit guilty taking up your time. |
koife:Well, the bible uses language, doesn't it? A "chosen" generation. So, whether spiritual or not, some were not chosen. Correct me if I am wrong. So, their task is to try all their lives to meet the criteria set to become chosen or become lost forever? Saint? Sainthood is determined by humans. Perhaps I need to drink from this well that you speak of. ![]() |
koife:While I do somewhat believe in the spiritual, I don't dwell much on it. I suppose, I could do a better job at that. See, your last paragraph is where I jump off the boat. I do not believe in such a thing as the "elect". It suggests that there are the "unelected". Those destined to be underprivileged. It's kind of ironic as well when I examine your Bank job example. It's quite peculiar, isn't it? Perhaps, your friend got the job instead of you because he/she was the "elect"? I know that I have drifted off the spiritual there but it still follows. If we have an "elect" (in a sense, the elite) who have been given secrets then, isn't it unfair? No equal opportunities for all? |
