Chreze: Yes, just include as living with you on the council site and that’s it. When they are sending the letter to your apartment you will MR A C and Mrs B C. Thank you for this. |

Good Morning All,
Without the intention of derailing the thread, I have a question about council tax especially in Scotland. Are spouse dependent also covered under student exemption? Its a bit confusing |

nwauwa: they don’t pick calls or respond to emails and they can come up with different rules eg this Covid test. I will advise u to do your PCR test. Better to have it than to miss your flight cuz of it I was able to get someone to go to their office in Lagos. Pre-departure Covid tests not required for fully vaccinated. Thank you. |

Earthday: All these airlines do have one or more offices around Nigeria, why not search for their numbers & call to clarify from them directly. I have. They aren't picking or replying emails and I don't stay in Lagos, Enugu or Abuja. That's why I need firsthand experience from someone who has travelled with them recently on this pre-departure test certificate |

Good afternoon,
Apologies if this isn't the right forum but I need some clarification. Has anyone recently travelled to the UK (specifically Scotland) in the last 2weeks with Ethiopian airlines? Was pre-departure negative test certificate required for fully vaccinated travellers? I have gotten different responses on the issue. Id appreciate help on this. Thanks. |

ThaSlimKidd: Good evening all.
Please has anyone travelled with Ethiopian airlines after the rule change for fully vaccinated persons not requiring pre-departure negative covid test before travelling to the UK.
I am reading conflicting statements on the requirement for pre-departure covid test prior to flying out. My issue is the fact that there's a stopover at Addis Ababa before connecting back to Heathrow.
My question: Does one need to have a negative pcr test before flying to the UK? Please kindly assist. Can't get through to customer care by emails or call. Any help please would be appreciated |

johnsonpal: Hey guys, my last post was 2months ago. it's now 4 months of being here in the UK. And I have made it a point of duty to unlearn, learn, relearn, adapt as fast as possible. of course, I'm still a JJC
Disclaimer: This post is strictly my opinion, thought, and experience so far, which of course will be different from others.
This might be a little long so I apologize in advance
so let get to it. Well said. I think a lot more people should come out and put out short time experiences like this. So that everyone involved in this "study/Japa visa" route understands what they are getting into. It's one thing to go through all these financial stress to get the visa to "study" , then another to actually get a job within the 2years PSW that is willing to sponsor you beyond the PSW. (Ps: you are required to apply for the PSW for yourself and each of your dependents.. Application is roughly £2k per person). If that's not enough headache , you'd have to compete in a steadily saturated worksphere to secure jobs(that offer sponsorship) during the PSW. PSW can't be extended past the 2yrs(MSc) or 3yrs(PhD). It's a lot of uncertainty and a bit worrying/scary personally but like we always say .."It is well". May God come through for each of us as we all thrive for better in the UK and beyond. |

mooyewhy: Somebody should say something on this £14000 is a lot to pay from working 20hrs a week. Without factoring in rent and other utility bills , council tax, FOOD, clothing etc. then combining that with school stress and it’s own small costs here n there. It’s a lot to be honest and will not advice. Also necessary to know the school fees payment plan. Some schools require 50% to be paid BEFORE enrolment even after the £1000 deposit. So let them check , check and check again with the school |

mummy1964: For this please, is it compulsoryto change passport name if u have valid one which is not yet expired before ur marriage? How compulsory is this pls? because I heard it isn't compulsory It's not compulsory especially if you still have most of your documentation in your maiden name. A marriage certificate would suffice for any ties to the partner. |

SirWellington: Good point, but I think everyone have their plans. Some might ply the route you highlighted above, some might leave for Canada or the US from there. But I guess this forum is majorly for those who want to go via the tier four route, as to what to do afterwards vis a vis the cost implications, there's another forum for that. @ Canada... This is still the dream destination. Means to an end I presume like you highlighted. It's all good. Good luck to everyone on this UK route though. |

Just out of sheer curiosity.. as much as we are all eager to leave everything behind and move to the UK, have we all considered that after the MSc, you'd be required to apply for the PGW visa for yourself/family + another IHS surcharge (2yrs for MSc , 3yrs for PhD).?
Also after the PGW period, we are all required to get a sponsor (Employer) to move to a Tier 2 visa as the PGW visa can not be extended unless you're applying again for PhD or the dependent decides to embark on an MSc.
We don't seem to talk about this enough so that everyone is aware of what "Japaing" to the UK is going to entail and cost. |

Wilfredon160: please how do i book directly from klm?..
!. You can book a flight directly from the airline you want to travel with, BA,KLM,Turkish airlines etc
2. you need to do PCR test 48hrs before your flight and show the result at the airport else you will not be allowed to board.
Google pcr test centers in Nigeria for list of govt approved labs https://nitp.ncdc.gov.ng/testcenters Also note: If you do decide to go with KLM, I think you'd require a transit visa.. so have that possibility as well on how to get a transit visa |

Fourcade: Is the transfer immediate? Can one log out and log back in to continue the process after paying ihs and visa fee Not exactly. You'd be asked to click to proceed to the TLS partner site to upload your documents. (that's if you chose self-service during visa appointment date). Yes you can log out and log back in. You'd be sent a link to continue from your last stop. |
