Thank you so much for the observations...I will work on that.
AgreatMan:
When did you finish your Bsc?
2014. Full stop.

Stop wasting time on the name of your exact school, that info is irrelevant to your Visa approval.

If u finished from Babcock, correct, u can flaunt it. Your parents r used to paying high fees, American school fees is not a big deal.

Which schools u applied to?
Name the schools in full except u applying to popular schools.

Also, u said u applied to 4 schools but u only named 3.

Why Tamuk?
In your last sentence, u said the Tamuk will expose u to new innovations, what new innovations exactly?

What will this degree do for you?

Try to visualize this question as what is your career plan?

In sentence one, u said u would hv gained necessary practical skills to Kickstart your career in the power sector

In sentence two, u said d degree would have made u gained managerial skills at Ministry of power. Your tori no dey add up o.

Boss, which one u dey na? First sentence u want to start a new career, d next sentence u want to become a manager at Fashola's ministry. Rethink this part.

Have u visited other countries?
No. I have not had a reason to.

Just stick to No. My opinion.

I hope your mom's account is twice or thrice of your i-20 deficit?

Goodluck

Good morning house...please I will be having my interview tomorrow.... Just want a quick check up on my transcript...corrections can still be made..thank u so much.

Vo: good morning, pass me your i20
Me: Good morning, this is it ma/sir
Vo: what are you going to do in the USA
Me : I am going for my masters degree in industrial engineering at Tamuk
Vo: what is your study plan
Me: I Plan to take 30 credits hour in 24month to complete this degree program. I will be taking the research option which requires me to take courses in engineering project management, wind farm layout design& operational management, safety systems, six sigma, and principle of optimization among others.
Vo: when did you finish your first degree
Me: I finished my first degree 2014 from the federal university of technology Akure.
Vo: what have you been doing since then
Me: I completed my compulsory national service in June 2016 and I kept working with my employers till December 2016.I got employment in a water production company as an assistant production manager till march 2018. Presently I am undergoing an industrial training with medal planthire where we repair forklift machines.
Vo: so why the USA
Me: the USA offers education of the highest quality and flexibility and I believe the profound system of wind energy power generation in the country which made it ranked in the top 2 in the world is as a result of the thorough research in wind farm been carried out in various schools and research centers so I I will be guaranteed a great learning opportunity both on campus and field work which will expose me to best practices and technical skills that I can bring to my country to help in improving our power sector by harnessing the wind energy for power generation which s poor in the country today.
Vo: how many schools did you apply to
Me: I applied to four universities, tamuk, SIT, NIU
Vo: how many admitted you
Me: I got admit from all the schools

The school have research funding for wind farm layout and optimisation and being in Texas which is the best producer of power through wind energy in the usa gives me opportunity to be exposed to new innovations.
Vo: what will this degree do for you
Me: at the end of the degree I would have gaine neccesary practial skills and qualifications that can help me start my career in the power sector in my county for improvement of our power generation by harnessing the wind energy that is poorly tapped presently. I will also have gotten an in depth knowledge in industrial engineering to take a managerial position in the ministry of power.

Good afternoon here. Visa approved today at the US consulate in Abuja this morning. Here's my transcript

ME: Good morning ma'am (with a wry smile)
VO: passport and 1-20 please.

VO: why USM
ME: It is classified as a R1 institution by the Carnegie foundation. And the Biological Science department has a diverse approach to their graduate program where researches provide solutions to problems affecting one health

VO: number of schools applied to
ME: 3. I named them.

VO: Why the choice of USM
ME: Aside from the fact that I got a GA, there's also am ongoing research in the lab of Prof **** which is in line with my background as a veterinarian.(not sure I mentioned the scope of the research)

VO; Do you have a letter from the school indicating the funding offered.
ME: YES. Gave it to her

VO: What similarities are there between your background as a vet and molecular biology
ME: As a practicing Vet, an added Knowledge of molecular biology will not only help me better diagnose animal diseases but also develop preventive and curative approaches to the disease, with emphasis on zoonotic diseases.

VO: Plan after graduation
ME: Upon completion of the MSC, I'll have acquired adequate research knowledge, and practical exposure as to enable me pick up a faculty position made available to best graduating students like me from my alma matter upon my return to Nigeria.

VO: Travelled out of the country before.
ME: No I've had no reason to go out of Nigeria

VO: Do you have any relatives or siblings in the US
ME: no I don't

VO: Congratulations, I'll be approving your visa

Things I ensured
1. I ensured I cleared my mind of the interview worried the previous day and assured myself it's not a do or die affair

2. I practiced multiple times in front of the mirror and also with individuals. As a fast speaker, I ensured I learnt the art of clearly stating my statements

3. Upon arrival at the venue, I interacted with people and get to know few.

4. As previously advised(dont know how true), applicants are been monitored upon entrance into the premises for appearance, posture and gestures that could make them look not confident or jittery. So I ensured I maintained a bossy outlook (even when I'm not), ensured my hands were at akimbo and also did not lower my gaze.

5. It's advised to find a way of putting one's strongest point very early in the interview process. As in my case, the VO did not even bother to check for any information on my 1-20 nor did she ask if I got funding until I made mention of it.

6. Lastly as it has been mentioned here, do not forget the GOD factor.

I hope this helps someone.
congrats bro...all the best...pls did the school mentioned the amount u received on the letter given

Adhheir:
2 weeks is a long time, here are the options i THINK you have
1. In your mind make the less preferred school your most preferred school, come up with reasonable and convincing reasons you chose the course and school in your proposed transcript, go get your visa and you can then change to your most preferred school.

2. Request your school send you a soft copy if your I20; there you have your sevis code and pay your sevis fee with the code, wait for the I20, book a regular visa date and expedite!

I wish you luck
God bless you sir for the idea..please I have sent a mail to you.

Yea you can, sevis fee is transferrable within the year. But once you've submit your DS-160 with your less preferred school's sevis code you won't be able to change it. Are you going to the embassy with the less preferred school's I-20 or you'd wait for the I20 of your most preferred school to get to you?
Thank you for the response sir...am still contemplating on waiting but because of the time, I won't want a situation I won't be able to go in January .. Will you advice I go to the embassy with the less preferred school i20 den change when I get to the use... The oda i20 should arrive in 2weeks
