tunlex01: I have responded. Do you mean someone posed as me in a group you belong to asking you for money to be added to a Whatsapp group? Someone also posed as you on Whatsapp requesting for 25k to be added to a group although with another number. |

tunlex01: Best route will be the skilled visa route (189, 190 and/or 491). Chances can only be determined by the occupation you want to nominate and your total points. Which occupation do you want to nominate (read a few posts back, I posted the guide to check your occupation) Improve your chances by having superior English test resut, take the NAATI translation exam if you speak/understand any of the two Nigerian languages currently recognised in Australia (Yoruba and Igbo), that can give you extra 5 points. Remaining single also give 10 points. Pls how can I register for the NAATI CCL, and are there materials to use for preparation? Are there tutorials centers and how is the exam like in general? |

Hey everyone! I'm new here and looking to kick off my immigration process with Engineers Australia. I'm 26, graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABUAD. Right now I work in tech, but I have almost 2 years of experience working in a power plant.
I’m a bit confused here: Can I use any of the Accords for assessment? I understand that coren is not a full signatory to the Washington accord, and can anyone clarify me about the Competency Demonstration Report (CDR), What it's about and who is eligible for it?
Would appreciate any help—thanks! |

MackyNaija: As I have said before...
Try not to be a Jack of all trades... Choose a career path and stick with it.
You cannot be a serial entrepreneur, data enthusiast, medical doctor, and professor of linguistics at the same time - you'll not be able to focus and go deep.
I got into/picked Quality in Electronics and stayed on it. So far, if resumes that apply for a job posting are ranked, mine will come at the top.
2019 after American graduation: Applied to >250 jobs, 1 interview, 1 offer
2020 after 1 year American experience: 30 applications, 2 interviews to final stage, 1 ghosting, 1 offer
2021 after 2years American experience and multiple certifications and achievements shown on my resume: 11 applications, 4 interviews (2x first stage, 1x final stage, 1x scheduled after I accepted an offer) I believe I could find and withdraw 3 applications (those at resume screening stage) Cancelled 3x interviews (those at first stage) Accepted 1 offer
I applied to multiple Amaz0n supply chain operations roles and prepared for their interviews that never came. I learned a lot from their Leadership Principles and their thought process... They'll hire you if you are better than 50% of those currently in that role. So,Choose a path and be better than at least 50% of the people doing the same work.
I have chosen to be better than 75% of people in my field irrespective of their years of experience. Congratulations to you on all your achievements so far, it's so amusing how you're able to make such a huge progress within a short period of time and i most say you're a big motivation to me. Though I'm from a mechanical engineering background, but I'm more interested in electronics and embedded systems. I'm also very proficient in programming(especially c/c++, python) so I'm considering a masters in automation or any closely related field. Since you mentioned electrical engineering as one of the fields easy to get into, can it also be extended to automation? |

Pls Mr Macky, I'd like to go for a masters in instrumentation & control/automation. What's the career prospect like in the us? PS: I'm a mechanical engineering graduate. MackyNaija: I know two people whose wives are in the military and they don't live together. If you have a legit reason to live separately - school, work etc - you can get away with it. Your house addresses need to be same and proof you go see her frequently is fine too.
