pconsult1: 18" is 450mm, which is small for the required width. Minimum for the column base is 300mm, considering there will still be blinding of about 50mm Noted! But where the size of the blocks is 6inches, will the 450mm be considered adequate for the width? |

Questionnaires: The High Cost of Feeding Farm Animals is Really Alarming and This has always been the Biggest Issue causing many farmers to Have Very Little Profits from their Animal Breeding Adventures.
Presently; The Price for 25KG of Chicken Feeds Here in Cross River State goes as High as 15,000 Naira.
Some Less than 7 Years ago; The same 25 KG of Poultry Feeds was less than 3,000 Naira.
One of The Main Reason for The High Cost of Animal Feeds particularly For Chicken and Catfish is Because These Animal Feeds are MAIZE-DEPENDENT.
However; THIS DOESN'T HAVE TO BE SO.
The Over-dependency on MAIZE For Animal Feeds Production can be Replaced with The ABUNDANCE OF CASSAVA PEELS That IGNORANTLY GOES To WASTE in Every Part of Nigeria and Africa at Large.
I proceed.
~ TMOAA So, how do we use the peels for the poultry feeds? |

Nonsense!!!

What's your business with what he does?
You that is a farmer how do you mobilize your farm produce from your farm to the market? Must everybody be a farmer?
If you don't have good suggestions to his quarry simply ignore
OP: don't mind him jare...
Depends on you status and type of job...
The Camry is suitable for both corporate and social class, be it a bank manager, civil servant, politician, business class or a mechanic the toyota Camry is okay for everyone and for both genders but its better for the male gender.
The Toyota Corolla is more suitable for cooperate class and for the female gender. Both cars are easy to maintain.
The year you choose for both cars are very good and perfect considering their type of engine especially for the Camry I love the Venza engine which is i4, even the V6 with double exhaust pipe is very good it can last a life time if well taken care of.
Coming to you budget. 5m won't buy you a tokunbo of any of these cars ooo... Not in this present time... But your budget is good to get you a very near to tokunbo Camry or 2010/011 Toyota Corolla.

focus7: I also like broiler as equally as noiler.
Can you suggest some if the best breed of broilers? I have tried only two breeds: Ross 308 and Cobb 500 but from my own observation, Ross grows fatter than Cobb but Cobb grows taller than Ross. Again, Cobb is more active than Ross. But I learnt that Abor Acre breed is also good. |

Emeskhalifa: I just started the business but honestly looking gor all possible means to cut down expenses and still maintain their growth. I got them just last Tuesday and intend to sell dem during Coming sallah. So I have been adviced to feed them very well Yes, if it's for business, you need to be giving them those feeds so that they can attain the desired weight within the short time. That's what those feeds do. |
Agriculture › Re: My Poultry Journey... by Theanchor: 7:38am On May 13, 2023 |
Foodqueen: Yes, for people that will rear them.
I stay in ikorodu and most people here keep have the time to rear them.
They would rather buy from you when it's still small and affordable than wait till it gets to full maturity.
They rather prefer to buy old layer than buy mature broiler cos of the price, if u know what I mean.
I sell them at home.
They market it themselves. Ok. That's quite interesting. Keep it up! |

olarent: Please how do you do it?presently i have 3broiler,2noiler and 3 turkey for personal rearing have spent close to 25k on their feeding they refuse to eat left over food how can i do it so that they we start eaten leftover food? I give them starter feed only for the first two weeks. Then grind corn and mix with the feed and start giving them from the 3rd week. The saint of the feed will not allow them to reject the corn. From 4thweek, I will stop mixing the corn with any feed and that's how they will pick up. So the trick is introducing those other foods to them very early. If you give them feed for a long time, they will definitely reject anything else. And again, if they reject it and you give them feed because they rejected it, then they will continue to reject it. But if they reject it and you ignore them, when they get very hungry, they will start eating it. Am talking from experience! |

Emeskhalifa: Wow really? Is that advisable for broilers? Feed them with leftovers instead of their food that comes inside sack? The Feed that comes inside sack is somebody's business idea developed to make money and not that broilers cannot eat any other thing. They are simply chickens and nothing so special about them. I rear them, so I know what am talking about |

denigma2: Please what are the breeds of your broilers? I do rear Ross 308 from Agrited Hatchery. But the ones I have now is Cobb 500 from Zartech Hatchery. I bought them in December and they have been doing excellently well, eating anything I give them. Why I switched to Cobb breed is because they are cheaper than Ross breed. |

Sales already started.

The 2 turkeys are doing fine Sales @3 weeks? Or you're selling to those who would then rear them to maturity? Meanwhile, do you take them to the market or the buyers come to the house? |

I have been rearing chickens just for family consumption for over 2yrs now and I can tell you it's a good thing to do. But coming to the best breed, well it all depends on you as no particular breed is better than the other in the real sense of it. Noilers are good but the prize per day old is even higher than some good breeds of broilers whereas broilers grow bigger than them. As for egg production, I have reared broilers that started laying eggs from 6months and continued until I slaughtered them. As for feeding, the only time I give my broilers feed is in their first two weeks after which I feed them with corn and leftovers and just anything that local chickens eat, yet if you see their sizes and weight, you will marvel. And when you cook them, you hardly distinguish their tastes from that of local chickens. |
