Here is the bitter truth, Peter Obi will not win 2023 Presidential election. Foreign Affairs / US Successfully Tests Hypersonic Missile by TheAviator: 6:21pm On Apr 05, 2022
The United States military tested a hypersonic missile last month but decided to keep it quiet for two weeks in order to avoid ramping up tensions further with Russia.

The mid-march test came just as President Joe Biden was set to travel to Europe to discuss Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, CNN reported, though scant details have been released about the situation.

The test was conducted off the west coast with the missile, a Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC), launched from a B-52 bomber.

The missile's booster engines first push the weapon up to a high speed before the air-breathing scramjet engine kicks in, pushing the missile to hypersonic speeds of Mach 5 and faster, according to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

The missile flew at heights greater than 65,000 feet for 300 miles – which would have taken around five minutes – though officials provided few details about the flight.

DARPA said the test met all of its objectives, including the missile's integration and release, safe separation from the launch aircraft, booster firing, and cruise.

The test came at a time when tensions between Russia and U.S. are heightened due to the country's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, and just days after Russia used its own hypersonic missiles on an ammunition warehouse in western Ukraine.

US officials recently downplayed Russia's use of their own hypersonic Kinzhal missile which is essentially an air-launched version of a Russian Iskander short-range ballistic missile and not new hypersonic weaponry.

The US test involved the use of a powerful engine, called an air-breathing scramjet.

The HAWC missile does not contain a warhead - but relies instead on sheer kinetic energy to destroy targets.

Thank you for your sound counter points.. it is not aloofness of my people rather it is political nativity. To be frank we are not politicians by virtue of our cultural and tribal beliefs. We are more commerce.minded folks hence we came to the game of politics late and it shows in the blunders we sometimes make.
Having said that , yes the PDP has enjoyed strict partisan follwership by my people and the AOC has never been accepted by my people as it is viewers as a party that is Anti Igbo.

But the reality is, that Nigeria is currently in a fragile state , ther have been several calls for sesssion by several groups each pushing forward their ideologies..We all agree from history and data no group has suffered more marginalization than my ethnic group in Nigeria ? Hence why even recently an elder states man I can't recall his name postulated that it would be smart for buhari to finally put an end to this anti Igbo or rather igbophobia which groups like the ipob have been preaching .

And one doesn't have to have a bachelor's degree in political science to know that zoning the slot to the southeast would have been the best way to bury this sesssion insurgency. A nation can never been held together by the gun or fear because the human freewill is insurmountable.
Now like you rightly said it is expected PDP would zone it to the southeast so would the AoC have done to help solidify this one.Niheria narrative to counter the igbophobia being pandered by rebel groups like ipob..
But that was the faux Parse.. they decided that it doesn't concern the APC after all PDP has enjoyed Igbo loyalty just as you said ,now notice the money APC came.out to boldly say that they weren't zoning to the southeast that they didn't owe the southeast anything that's when splinter groups on the PDP dtarte dkicking against zoning too, they all suddenly found their voice ..

Formerly there was this unsaid expectation that now na the turn of Igbo make we see who APC go zone am to then boom immediately APC rejected this PDP followed suite...

Now we are at the cross roads... My worry is cricoes people like I roll in have never had any sympathy for Nnamdi Kanu or the murderous ipob... And I can boldly tell you that majority of my people do not like ipob and their methods .
But when you hear something even a lie repeated to you long enough one actually starts to believe it... Now this igbophobia and Igbo hate has been orwched by massob ohaneze and recently the violent agitation of ipob...
Meanwhile we all sat back and said boldy when it's our turn and one of us gets there I wonder what ipob will preach bubt alas today it seems like truly there is a silent agreement not to allow my people rule this nation.. it seems there is truth in their igbophobia message after all other wise tell me why are we even arguing over this?

It's a no brainer that by now we should be looking at Igbo candidates in various parties and comparing and contrasting but it's as if my tribe don't exist!

This is unfair and wring on every level..

This is not how a nation is built but this is definitely how a nation is scattered ..

I agree with you that an Igbo Presidency would reduce the agitations in the Southeast. But I don't think that there is a conspiracy to prevent Igbos from becoming President.

The issue is that strong Igbos such as Peter Obi and Orji Kalu should take the bull by the horn and run.

That Atiku and Tinubu are running does not mean that an Igbo aspirant can't win. The only thing that guarantees that an Igbo man will not emerge as President in 2023 is if Igbos don't join the race.

A former Director in DSS, who worked with Obasanjo, told me that power is not given to anybody, but people fight for it. He told me that despite Tinubu's role in the formation of the APC, nobody in APC will just give him the party's ticket. He said Tinubu needs to take some strategic steps and fight for it in order to get it. He went on to say that as someone who knew what was done to help Obasanjo defeat Abubakar Rimi when they both contested for PDP ticket in 2003, he could say that Tinubu is really doing what is required to get the Presidential ticket of APC.

His point is that anyone who wants the Presidency needs to fight for it, and according to him, Tinubu is really doing the necessary things to get it. He said that if Tinubu had sat down, while demanding for his party's ticket on the basis of the role he played in its formation, he would not get it. He said that but by the way he is fighting for it now, he is likely unstoppable.

This point applies to our Igbo brothers also. They need to join the race, take strategic steps, talk to people and persuade them. That's the only way anyone from any tribe can get the Presidency. In fact I expect Igbos from this moment to start putting serious pressure on formidable politicians from the Southeast to join the race and slug it out with other contestants from other regions.

So don't be surprised Peter Obi surrendering easily, how much did he spend in the last election grin.

Elections, presidency especially in Nigerian terms is too expensive and risky at the same time, e take strong liver to even try grin

Methinks that Governor Peter Obi stayed out of the race because he didn't want to contest against Atiku in the hope that Atiku will nominate him as his running mate. I think that's not the right decision from him at all.

It's not the turn of the Southsouth, it's the turn of the southeast.
The silence of the Southeast should worry everyone .. rightfully it's our turn to elad this great nation.. we are not more bedeviled with problems than any other tribe yet we are being denied our rightful shot at the fixing this nation .
Some people have asked me have we fixed the southeast ? I laugh because other regions have ruled yet they are still battling myriad problems so why are my people being denied our turn?

Salty suddenly zoning that has been used by every region to secure the slot has been jettisoned now it's the turn of my people and it Futher makes us feel disenfranchised and and marginalized.

Then tomorrow you turn around and wonder why sesssionists had such a willing ear in the people to listen?

You can't deny a people their rights and make them feel less and expect them to willingly want to stay in Nigeria .. that is wrong and tantamount to bullying.

Who in his or her right conscience can say it's not the turn of the Igbos ? Please who can in good honest faith say this ?

Why push a people so hard to the point just telling yourself they can do nothing ? Really ? A nation can never be built by brute force but by inter Corporations and unity. Let me tell you my fellow NIGERIANS , IPOB didn't have up to 10% of the Igbo people support forget those iliterate touts and their social media propaganda. But to deny my people our right this time around for whatever reason is telling the remaining 90% of us who rejected ipob that maybe just maybe those touts have a point.

Yes power isn't given ,yes I agree but as ever other region had it zoned to them and a consensus picked so should it be done for the Southeast. To deny us our right is to do what Chinese is doing to Taiwan, to do what Israel doing to Palestine, to do what ImUAE is doing to shites..

Forget whatever we tell ourselves, each and every one of you my fellow country men and women know it's the turn of my people. I would have taught the great Asiwaju a defender of justice would have picked an Igbo man as his chosen candidate, that would have sent the message that he recodnizes that's it's rightfully our turn and that he stands for justice.

Anyways it's his right to run for office but like I said, to deny us is going to send a very strong message to every single Igbo man, woman ,boy and girl child that we are not recodnized and wanted in this country and I am afraid that would have a very dire repercussions in inter ethnic relations . I don't think buhari is in support of it not being an Igbo person infact I am shocked to admit from his a tions one can deduce he feels rightly it should be an Igbo person..

Alas time will tell

I commend you so much for the way you tried to make your point that Igbo people deserve the Presidency this time. The way you submitted your points without insulting and cursing other tribes is very mature and could pass as superior arguments.

But we need to understand that zoning or not, Igbos need to come out, contest, and lobby other parts of the nation to support them. For example, why didn't Governor Peter Obi join the race? The guy is very well qualified to be President. Even in previous elections which were zoned, people from other regions still contested against the candidates from the region to which the election was zoned.

No region has been faithful to the PDP as the South East has been, so I can't understand why folks like Peter Obi are leaving PDP's ticket to guys like Atiku and Tambuwal. Igbos shouldn't wait for the ticket to be dropped on their laps. They should slug it out with people from other regions and give it what it takes. Who says an Igbo aspirant can't defeat an aspirant from the North.

As for the APC, the bitter truth is that the political dynamics that formed the party don't favor Igbos. I am not saying this because I am from the South West, I am saying this because that's the fact, just as I would not hesitate to say that the political reality in PDP doesn't favor a Yoruba aspirant because I don't need anybody to tell me that my people haven't been loyal to the PDP.

Right from when APC was being formed circa 2013, 2014, and 2015, I knew it that those working hard to form the party such as Tinubu, had their own ambitions and were working to build a strong platform to stand on and to run on. If anybody thinks that people like Tinubu who worked hard to form APC would one day discard their ambitions for people who didn't work as hard as they did to form the party, that is acute political naivety.

The bitter truth is that the aloofness of the Igbos toward the APC will not favor them in that party. The earlier we face this fact, the better. But there is a strong party to which the Igbos have been faithful and loyal. The Igbos are entitled, yes, entitled to that party's Presidential ticket, and that's the PDP. But I am bemused that the Igbos seem to have surrendered that party's ticket to Atiku.

Tinubu people can be very emotional

I don't have anything against him other than three things

(1) His hypocrisy to organise ojota rally and call for GEJ removal while but can't when Buhari has crippled the country hundred times more

(2) Hypocrisy of saying president must go to south when you didn't allow a southerner to complete his tenure or present a better southerner

(3) His style of leadership of enmassing state resources to himself and building herds of cattle who he gives grass to

I am trying to look at reality and not you or mine emotions

Today Tinubu has been played out of APC, his wife confessed he has gotten so irrelevant where he gets trashed

You don't trash relevant people, you trash irrelevant people

His wife words not mine

Nobody is against your opposing Tinubu. How is that my business. Even if I am a fan of Tinubu, your opposition to him wouldn't matter to me since it wouldn't be of any consequence as you can't stop him. So no need to explain why you are opposed to him. It's your right.

What I am talking about is that he and Atiku are on course to emerging as their party's candidates. It doesn't matter whether some people think that they are relevant or not. It's not about what their haters think. It's about the realities of democracy. In democracy, the hated sometimes emerge as the winner. You can ask those who hated Trump and even described him as a joke. They are in a better position to explain to you.

It's not a joke, that's the fact. In life, one of the worst mistakes one can make is to underestimate one's enemy. Telling yourself that someone is irrelevant just because you don't like him is dangerous because that will not stop him. What can really stop him is to tell yourself the bitter, sad, and painful truth by acknowledging the person's strength, and then map out strategies to counter and neutralize the strength. That way, you may be able to stop the person.

A very simple question

When last was Tinubu ever in any APC meeting holding nationally?

If he is too irrelevant to be called to APC meetings what make you believe they would package presidency to go give one man in lagos

The mistake we make sometimes is that some of these things don't depend on what we think, or suppose, or don't know. That you think Tinubu was not involved in major decisions made regarding the party does not mean he wasn't involved. That you and I didn't know when consultations were made and what he did in the background does not mean he did nothing.

They do their work without minding what some people think. The earlier we face this reality, the better for us.
