HIGHESTPOPORI: While I am a supporter of Tinubu, I still respect your decision to support Peter Obi as it is your right. After all, we are in a democracy. But I am sorry to be the bearer of 'bad news' sir. Here is the bitter truth, Peter Obi will not win 2023 Presidential election. While I am not certain about who will emerge as winner between Atiku and Tinubu, I am 100% certain Peter Obi will not win, and even Peter Obi knows he will not win. 17 Likes 4 Shares |

Foreign Affairs / US Successfully Tests Hypersonic Missile by TheAviator: 6:21pm On Apr 05, 2022 |
The United States military tested a hypersonic missile last month but decided to keep it quiet for two weeks in order to avoid ramping up tensions further with Russia. The mid-march test came just as President Joe Biden was set to travel to Europe to discuss Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, CNN reported, though scant details have been released about the situation. The test was conducted off the west coast with the missile, a Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC), launched from a B-52 bomber. The missile's booster engines first push the weapon up to a high speed before the air-breathing scramjet engine kicks in, pushing the missile to hypersonic speeds of Mach 5 and faster, according to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The missile flew at heights greater than 65,000 feet for 300 miles – which would have taken around five minutes – though officials provided few details about the flight. DARPA said the test met all of its objectives, including the missile's integration and release, safe separation from the launch aircraft, booster firing, and cruise. The test came at a time when tensions between Russia and U.S. are heightened due to the country's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, and just days after Russia used its own hypersonic missiles on an ammunition warehouse in western Ukraine. US officials recently downplayed Russia's use of their own hypersonic Kinzhal missile which is essentially an air-launched version of a Russian Iskander short-range ballistic missile and not new hypersonic weaponry. The US test involved the use of a powerful engine, called an air-breathing scramjet. The HAWC missile does not contain a warhead - but relies instead on sheer kinetic energy to destroy targets. RapistOnBail: Nope, that's not what you were talking about. You said they would have given the families of the pilots of NAF 475 that crashed quit notice. That was absolutely wrong. They don't give families of pilots of crashed aircrafts quit notice. In fact, the Chief visited them to console them. |

Kingozymandias: I agree with you that an Igbo Presidency would reduce the agitations in the Southeast. But I don't think that there is a conspiracy to prevent Igbos from becoming President. The issue is that strong Igbos such as Peter Obi and Orji Kalu should take the bull by the horn and run. That Atiku and Tinubu are running does not mean that an Igbo aspirant can't win. The only thing that guarantees that an Igbo man will not emerge as President in 2023 is if Igbos don't join the race. A former Director in DSS, who worked with Obasanjo, told me that power is not given to anybody, but people fight for it. He told me that despite Tinubu's role in the formation of the APC, nobody in APC will just give him the party's ticket. He said Tinubu needs to take some strategic steps and fight for it in order to get it. He went on to say that as someone who knew what was done to help Obasanjo defeat Abubakar Rimi when they both contested for PDP ticket in 2003, he could say that Tinubu is really doing what is required to get the Presidential ticket of APC. His point is that anyone who wants the Presidency needs to fight for it, and according to him, Tinubu is really doing the necessary things to get it. He said that if Tinubu had sat down, while demanding for his party's ticket on the basis of the role he played in its formation, he would not get it. He said that but by the way he is fighting for it now, he is likely unstoppable. This point applies to our Igbo brothers also. They need to join the race, take strategic steps, talk to people and persuade them. That's the only way anyone from any tribe can get the Presidency. In fact I expect Igbos from this moment to start putting serious pressure on formidable politicians from the Southeast to join the race and slug it out with other contestants from other regions. |

Goke7: Methinks that Governor Peter Obi stayed out of the race because he didn't want to contest against Atiku in the hope that Atiku will nominate him as his running mate. I think that's not the right decision from him at all. |
Politics / Re: Zoning Vs Winning The Election: South-South Cannot Win Presidency - Tambuwal by TheAviator: 2:26pm On Mar 22, 2022 |
Kingozymandias: I commend you so much for the way you tried to make your point that Igbo people deserve the Presidency this time. The way you submitted your points without insulting and cursing other tribes is very mature and could pass as superior arguments. But we need to understand that zoning or not, Igbos need to come out, contest, and lobby other parts of the nation to support them. For example, why didn't Governor Peter Obi join the race? The guy is very well qualified to be President. Even in previous elections which were zoned, people from other regions still contested against the candidates from the region to which the election was zoned. No region has been faithful to the PDP as the South East has been, so I can't understand why folks like Peter Obi are leaving PDP's ticket to guys like Atiku and Tambuwal. Igbos shouldn't wait for the ticket to be dropped on their laps. They should slug it out with people from other regions and give it what it takes. Who says an Igbo aspirant can't defeat an aspirant from the North. As for the APC, the bitter truth is that the political dynamics that formed the party don't favor Igbos. I am not saying this because I am from the South West, I am saying this because that's the fact, just as I would not hesitate to say that the political reality in PDP doesn't favor a Yoruba aspirant because I don't need anybody to tell me that my people haven't been loyal to the PDP. Right from when APC was being formed circa 2013, 2014, and 2015, I knew it that those working hard to form the party such as Tinubu, had their own ambitions and were working to build a strong platform to stand on and to run on. If anybody thinks that people like Tinubu who worked hard to form APC would one day discard their ambitions for people who didn't work as hard as they did to form the party, that is acute political naivety. The bitter truth is that the aloofness of the Igbos toward the APC will not favor them in that party. The earlier we face this fact, the better. But there is a strong party to which the Igbos have been faithful and loyal. The Igbos are entitled, yes, entitled to that party's Presidential ticket, and that's the PDP. But I am bemused that the Igbos seem to have surrendered that party's ticket to Atiku. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Truthisunique2: Nobody is against your opposing Tinubu. How is that my business. Even if I am a fan of Tinubu, your opposition to him wouldn't matter to me since it wouldn't be of any consequence as you can't stop him. So no need to explain why you are opposed to him. It's your right. What I am talking about is that he and Atiku are on course to emerging as their party's candidates. It doesn't matter whether some people think that they are relevant or not. It's not about what their haters think. It's about the realities of democracy. In democracy, the hated sometimes emerge as the winner. You can ask those who hated Trump and even described him as a joke. They are in a better position to explain to you. 1 Like |

Truthisunique2: It's not a joke, that's the fact. In life, one of the worst mistakes one can make is to underestimate one's enemy. Telling yourself that someone is irrelevant just because you don't like him is dangerous because that will not stop him. What can really stop him is to tell yourself the bitter, sad, and painful truth by acknowledging the person's strength, and then map out strategies to counter and neutralize the strength. That way, you may be able to stop the person. 1 Like |

Truthisunique2: The mistake we make sometimes is that some of these things don't depend on what we think, or suppose, or don't know. That you think Tinubu was not involved in major decisions made regarding the party does not mean he wasn't involved. That you and I didn't know when consultations were made and what he did in the background does not mean he did nothing. They do their work without minding what some people think. The earlier we face this reality, the better for us. 2 Likes |

LeoDeKing: Please let's not make this a tribalistic issue. While it should not matter, I am Yoruba. But I don't believe in all these attacks against a people because of their ethnicity, and I also strongly oppose their attacks against us. An Igbo person can actually end up being the candidate of one of the major political parties. They only need to get into the race and reach out to other ethnic groups. It is a possibility. 5 Likes |
