Politics / 2023 Presidential Election: It Will Be Bola Tinubu Vs Atiku Abubakar by TheAviator: 8:42am On Feb 27, 2022 |
Here is the bitter truth, the forthcoming 2023 presidential contest will be between Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu of APC and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of PDP. While other parties are going to field candidates for the 2023 Presidential election, the candidates of the two major parties, APC and PDP, will be the main gladiators, and one of them will emerge as Nigeria's next President. I described the above scenario as 'a bitter truth' because I know that there are lots of people who are hellishly opposed to Tinubu and Atiku. There are thousands of Nigerians who can't stand the idea of a Tinubu or an Atiku Presidency, that they have come up with false hopes and self-consolatory ideas such as, 'Amaechi is Buhari's anointed,' 'Wike will stop Atiku,' etc. While I empathize with those who don't like these two veteran politicians, I think it's self-deception to say that they are weak candidates. Sometimes in life, humans are faced with unwanted realities, and the political reality in Nigeria today is a perfect example of such unwanted realities. People may not like them, but both Tinubu and Atiku will end up emerging as the Presidential candidates of their respective parties. 2 Likes

Iyaebe: That's why I said they need to stop telling each other "you should sponsor her." The husband should stop insisting it's the parent's responsibility while the parents should stop insisting it's the hubby's responsibility. This seeming abdication of responsibility by both sides is what is making both sides to be obdurate. They should come together and should both sponsor her. This way, either side will not feel the other side is trying to take advantage of him. |
Family / Re: Who Takes Over The Schooling Responsibilities When A Lady Student Gets Married? by TheAviator: 1:52pm On Feb 10, 2022 |
Iyaebe: Then both her father and hubby can contribute to sponsor her. I think the husband can still be persuaded to be part of her sponsorship. It might be that the girl's parents are making it look like it's compulsory for him to sponsor her education because he is now her husband, and that's why he is just saying no because he doesn't like people with entitlement mentality. Humans have the tendency to say no when we approach them with an entitlement mentality. The solution is that both sides should compromise. The girl's parents and her hubby should stop being rigid. Both sides should sponsor her education. The girl's parents should try to persuade the man and not try to insist that it's his responsibility. They should appeal to his human side, his affection for the wife, and nobler motive. They should tell him he is doing it to be of help to his wife, and not that he is being forced to do it. This way, he will be persuaded. 3 Likes |

Immediately after the bite, she drove herself to the hospital. But unfortunately, she didn't make it. She bled to death, leaving behind the baby she was nursing. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Foreign Affairs / ‘father Of Pakistan’s Nuclear Programme’ Abdul Qadeer Khan Dies by TheAviator: 10:29am On Oct 10, 2021 |
Pakistani atomic scientist died after being transferred to the hospital with lung problems. Pakistan nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan was lauded for bringing the nation up to par with archrival India Abdul Qadeer Khan, revered as the father of Pakistan’s nuclear programme, has died at 85. The Pakistani atomic scientist, hailed as a national hero for making his country the world’s first Islamic nuclear power but regarded by the West as a dangerous renegade responsible for smuggling technology to rogue states, was transferred to hospital with lung problems, state-run PTV said. Khan had been admitted to the same hospital in August after contracting the coronavirus. After being permitted to return home several weeks ago, he was transferred back after his condition deteriorated. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said on Twitter that an urgent meeting “was called.. to finalise arrangements for the funeral ceremony”. Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi said he was “deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan”, whom he had known personally since 1982. Khan was lauded for bringing Pakistan up to par with archrival India in the atomic field and making its defences “impregnable”. But he found himself in the international crosshairs when he was accused of illegally sharing nuclear technology with Iran, Libya and North Korea. After a confession on national television, Khan was pardoned by then-president Pervez Musharraf but remained under house arrest for years in his palatial Islamabad home. In 2006 Khan was struck with prostate cancer but recovered after surgery. A court ended his house arrest in February 2009, but Khan’s movements were strictly guarded, and he was accompanied by authorities every time he left his home in Islamabad.
