phrezzz: Ghana have a chance but its just 20% portugal and germany are favourites ghana may end up with no pointsNo one gave them the chance against Egypt and they surprised the whole world by not only winning, but winning by a very large margin. I have to admit that Ghana has a very strong squad. But what I hate most about them is their boastful fans who look for any opportunity the spite Nigerians. Even when it is obvious we're African Champion, they don't want to acknowledge that. Take a good look at the portuguese squad and imagine how the team would fare without Christiano Ronaldo. Portugal without Ronaldo is no better team than Malawi. Even with Ronaldo, they still struggled to qualify. Ghana on the other hand has a very deep squad especially in the midfield. Their physical play would be a great advantage to them against the less physical portugal. |
^ Person wey use mouth drive car nor dey get accident. |
OBJ was not invited. He went there to do amebo. Infact most of the leaders that visited did without any invitation. |
He should underrate the Eagles at his peril. |
All the African teams(except Algeria) will make it out of the group stage. And as much as I believe Ghana and Cameroon are in tough groups, I still believe they have all it take to qualify from the groups. |
^ Don't mind the dude. They went to the AFCON with those players with the intention of ditching the so called big stars if they succeed at the tournament. The coach had to recall them back when his supposed first team failed to live up to expectation. BTW, Essien, Ayew and Muntari have been going to the AFCON without success. What makes petrodolla think the result would have been different had these players gone to AFCON 2013? These players are not even committed to Ghana's course. They are only after their personal achievement. And I'm sure they won't give a hoot if they fail to make it out of the group stage in next year's world cup. How many of these so called Ghanaian big stars are bigger than Drogba and Yaya Toure who are willing to kill to win the AFCON trophy? Ghanaians should stop consoling themselves for not winning a trophy for 31 years by down playing the importance of AFCON. It is utterly ludicrous. |
PetroDolla2: how is nigeria putting food on his table? he works for a Ghanaian company in Lagos. Is that what he told you? Could you please mention the name of the Ghanaian company? Cos I don't seem to know any in this Lagos state. |
Obrafour: Where there is Ghana, there is @ThebenAnd there is one Obrafour stalking him. |
ghananotnaija: I'm here to bring back some of your oil money back to my country. I send as much as I can back to my home in Cape Coast. There are thousands of people like me. When your country has run out of oil and becomes bankrupt and reverts back to the primitive bush and jungle that it once was, at least some of the oil money would be in Ghana, used to develop that great country. Then you are very foolish to disrespect the country that has been putting food on your table. |
ghananotnaija: "Nigeria" and "great minds" and "renowned scientists" don't go together. Cognitive dissonance detected. What are you doing in Nigeria? Why don't you go to your sane society and make an impact? |
marutimon: Vidal is Chilean.Noted |
Why is it that the Ghanaian U-17 National team has failed to perform well at any major championship since the introduction of MRI test? |
Controversy: I hope you will still say the same thing when they start unleashing mayhem in the state with their cowWhen they unleash mayhem, the government should take the blame for not providing adequate security. Not all Hausas are Boko Haramists and not all are violent. The Hausas did not react to the influx of the igbos into their land with statements like "they are criminals, they are kidnappers". Whoever commits a crime should be prosecuted. The individual should take the blame and not the tribe. |
And what is wrong if Hausas flood imo state? Are they not Nigerians? When other states discriminate against the igbos, they will play victims and narrate the history of how they've always wanted Biafra. But they themselves don't tolerate the influx of others tribes into their states. Talking about hypocrisy. |
Ghana remains the powerhouse of african soccer. Is amazing how a country with small pop is defying all odds. Cameroon another country that has defy all odds
Which odds are you referring to? The insurmountable odds that have denied your country trophy for 31years? |
I also believe the Brazilian weather would favour Ghana more than the two European teams in their group. The toughest game for Ghana in the group could be against the United State of America. |
^^ He won the fourth place AFCON medal. ![]() |
sleekdot: These are either low level clubs or those at top clubs are peripheral playersOlodo |
@chokl8candie Yes, Nigeria was placed in similar group in 2010 and didn't make it out of the group stage. This is as a result of so many factors. 1. Wrong permutation- When we saw the draw, our plan was to lose the first game against Argentina, and go ahead to win the other two matches. We were too opmisitc and relaxed that we didn't put up a fight against argentina. We gave them the victory on a platter and became jittery in our other two games. 2. Indiscipline/Disunity among our players- Our so called senior players were guilty of this. Osaze was not ready to co-operate with the coach and Keita was unable to control his temper. 3. Over confidence 4. Clueless Coach- Nigeria took a coach that never had a significant achievement with any national team to the world cup. Having the above in mind, i think we would be careful to avoid repetition of world cup 2010 the same way we carefully approached the qualifiers against the ethiopians after learning a bitter lesson from 2012 Nations cup qualifiers elimination by guinea. |
CFCman: @ Theben: Colombia is winning that groupColombia has just two world class players. Falcao and maybe Vidal or so. While the Ivorians can boast of having Yaya Toure, Didier Drogba(however old, he's still a force to be reckoned with), Gervinho and many others. The main threat in that group is Japan. But i trust the ivorians to defeat them. |
Aside Algeria, all the African teams will make it out of the group stage baring complacency and self defeat. Ghana has nothing to fear. They've shown the world a glimpse of their bravery when they defeated Egypt by 6 goals to 1. While Ghana will approach every game with detemination, the portuguese could underrate them and be very careless when attacking. This could lead to their defeat. Cameroun is another team in a fairly tough group. I trust them to put up a great performance. The Ivorians and Nigerians should be celebrating the draw. I see Ivory Coast topping their group and Nigeria second behind group favorite Argentina. |
^ Remember Nigeria coach in 2010? Las Largaback You know our coach now? Stephen Keshi We live to see |
lexyman: The were"t our wife , back then have u forgotten the quick pass maradona made to canigia from the spot kick , that game ended 2 : 2The game ended 2-1 in favour of Argentina. |
Algeria, Nigeria and Ivory Coast should never be allowed to go to any other world cup if they fail to qualify from their respective groups. |
Nayah: Don't involve me in this brother cause I have strong arguments for youAtleast you watched cameroon lift the afcon trophy in 2004 or so. Could you please ask our Ghanaian brother the last time they saw their team win the trophy? I think they heard about it from their parents the same way we hear our parents narrate the civil war ![]() |
![]() My Ghanaian friends, how market? What shall it profit a man to qualify for world cup and play only 3 matches. ![]() My dinner is going to be banku and kelewele plus alomo. |
Nayah: Of course...I also like Ghana but seriously CAMEROON is ABOVEEEEEENo doubt cameroon is above ghana. But Naija is above all african countries. |
omar22: I heard that the back pass rule hasn't come in place the last time Ghana won AFCONAnd Nelson Mandela was still in prison ![]() |
Afam4eva: Was in not in the 2010 world cup qualifiers that France qualified in a controversial fashion ahead of Ireland.Yeah it was. But that didn't take the favorite tag from them. |
Geestunnar: [s]when will Ghanians stop selling puff-puff on Nigeria streetsThis is totally uncalled for |
Nayah: CAMEROOOOON ALL THE WAYYYYYYY!!!!! You guys are our real neighbours jare. |
My prediction remains Switzerland Nigeria Iran Greece While our neighbours would manage this fairly tough group Brazil Ghana Japan Netherlands |
