Politics / Re: Nigeria Is Broke, Buhari Declares by thebestonearth(m): 8:00am On Nov 02, 2015
PsmartexLLB:

President Muhammadu Buhari has admitted that Nigeria is indeed broke.
He said that the country is at the moment struggling to pay workers
salaries even as he says he wants to be remembered as a Nigerian
president who fought corruption to a standstill, assuring Nigerians, who
are not involved in corruptly enriching themselves with public funds, not
to be afraid.
President Buhari said in the coming days he would have to prune the
number of ministries so as to be able to pay salaries. He's saying this
barely 24 hours after the Senate confirmed 37 ministerial nominees he
sent to the upper chamber of the National Assembly for confirmation.
Speaking at a press conference after the India-Africa Summit, which took
place in New Delhi, India, President Buhari said he would not lose sleep
over criticism that he was being selective in the fight against corruption.
One of the main talking points at the one-day summit in New Delhi, was
the provision India had made for African countries. The nation said it
had set aside over $10 billion grant for African countries.
Wooing investors, President Buhari assured Indians and the international
community of his administration's commitment to sustaining efforts
aimed at making Nigeria an envy of all. He urged them to avail
themselves of the conducive environment that would be created for
investments to thrive.
Responding to critics of his administration who claim he was too slow in
addressing economic and infrastructural challenges facing the country
that's yearning for urgent development, Buhari said "they call me baba
go slow, but I will go slow and steady".
He called on the elite to encourage him to get whoever had compromised
his position and the trust given to him. President Buhari told the
gathering that he remained resolute in the fight against corruption and
would want to be remembered for that when it is all said and done.
His administration has three main focus - security, economy and the fight
against corruption. But he has roundly been criticised by the opposition
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as being selective in the fight.
On whether there will be an extension of a three-month deadline given
by his administration to flush out Boko Haram from Nigeria's north-east,
the President said that the target was to get rid of terrorism and not
about meeting deadline.
See excerpts of interview:
How much have you recovered so far in your fight against corruption and how do you feel when people say you are
being selective?
I can't tell you off hand how much we have recovered. For those who accuse us of being selective, if they are not
involved in corruption, they wouldn't have been saying that, they would be the ones to encourage us to get whoever that
has compromised in his position of trust. Those who are not corrupt should even encourage us to do more. I'm not
selective. But whoever that is corrupt would be given up for prosecution so that Nigerians will know we are serious
about this fight.
The three months target you gave the military to flush out Boko Haram, if they don't meet the target would there be an
extension?
The main objective is to get rid of Boko Haram whether it is within the time you gave to the military or outside it. We
maintain cardinal objective and we would support them.
The PDP and APC in the NASS have been polarised following the confirmation of your ministerial nominees. Does that
bother you?
This is teamwork. I didn't work with the Presidency alone, I have to defend all the three chains of government from all
parts of the country and we cannot work outside the constitution, it must be a cabinet representative of each state. We
cannot afford votes for all ministers, some may not be successful ministers, but they would sit in cabinet, because that is
what the constitution says, and we cannot operate outside the constitution.
Are you reducing the number of ministries?
Of course, the country is broke
There are talks that your government is too slow in addressing infrastructure?
Where is the money? You must have known that the Federal Government has to help 27 states out of 36 to pay salaries.
Nigeria cannot pay salaries; the Federal Government itself has to summon the Governor of Central Bank on how it could
pay salaries, not to talk of projects, agreements we signed with other countries on counterpart funding and so on.

Good Morning! How was your Night?

Spiritual Digest for the Day 2nd Of November 2015

QUOTE FOR THE DAY
Each time you see a man who has every reason to worry about tomorrow; you have seen a man who is enjoying the mercy of God. The fact that you are still a living being speaks hope and assurance of better days to come!!!

*********************
BIBLE VERSE FOR THE DAY
"O GIVE thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever." (Psalms 136:1 AMP).
_________________________
Irrespective of the situation of your life; it does not change the fact that your primary assignment as a living soul is to worship the Lord. The dead cannot praise the Lord. They don't worry about anything; it is the living that worry about the dead.

When you begin to worry about your life most especially when you have not gotten some wonderful things of life like cloths, food, houses, cars, promotion, progress, wife/husband, children etc. Know that it is only a man who is in the state of well being that thinks about these things. Sometimes most of your worries indicate that the Lord has done wonderful things in your life. If you still have reasons to live on and hope to enjoy the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living the Lord is worthy of praise on your behalf.

There are many people who are ready to give up everything they have if doing so will give them the sound health they earnestly desire. Some who have been admitted in the hospital don't have the idea of when they will be free again. Those who were under the oppression of the devil will only cry for deliverance.

The Lord has been so good to you in many areas of life. You are highly indebted to God for the mercy you are enjoying in every aspect of life. If the Lord had brought you this far; it is an indication that He is not yet through with you. More glorious days lies ahead of you; Worship Him.

Grace to you in Jesus name. Amen!!!
Have a Glorious Week Ahead!!!
Business / Re: Creating Lasting Wealth by thebestonearth(m): 5:38am On Nov 02, 2015
bizoptions:
First, I will introduce you to the first 3 steps to lasting
wealth and later will reveal the last 3 steps. It is one
step after the other.

Step 1 - Make Money
Step 2 - Manage Money
Step 3 - Multiply Money

These three steps are fondly referred to
as the 3Ms of mo n ey.

The very first step is to MAKE it. And not just make it,
but make it in enough amounts as to be able to have a little
above what you need to survive.

Take for instance starting a family. The rule of thumb is
that the total family income(income from both parents)
must be slightly higher than what both parents need to
survive before a family can be started.

By age 25, you should be in the stage of wealth building
where you earn an income. If you are this age and you
are not earning, it is time to pay attention.

This is the stage where you must actively seek to understand
wealth and money and work hard at using your
understanding to create a footing and today,
I will focus on a basic understanding of money.

Nobody will do this for you & in my opinion, most people
have a skewed understanding of money because contrary
to what people believe, a regular bank is not the real money!
It goes way beyond this.

You see, money is all about value. How valuable you are will
ultimately determine how much you are able to make.

If for instance, you earn N50,000 per month.
It means you are valued at N2,500 per day
and N312.5 per hour. Here is the maths.

You work about 8hours daily; 8am - 4pm.
You work average of 20days a month (Mon - Fri)
You earn N50,000 per month.

N50,000 divided by 20days is N2,500 per day.
N2,500 per day is N312.5 per hour.

Your current value which translated into cash
is N312.5 per hour. That is your worth at
N50,000 per month and that is the same
wage paid to labourers per manday.

Infact, some skilled workers get paid up to N4,000 in
wages per day which means in cash speak, they have
more value that you do. Cash speak.. forget about
your English and packaging.

Many African American salons spend a lot of time getting the hair to lie as straight and as flat as possible with curling irons, flat irons, and pressing combs. This Avenue Hair procedure often leads to hair that has a thin appearance. Dominican Hair Styling stylists use a brush and dryer to give hair great bouncy, texture. The hair is straight, but not the super straight you get from African American hair salons. So, if you thinking of going natural because you want more texture to your hair, consider visiting a Dominican Hair stylist.

The event took place on Victoria Island, Lagos. Not satisfied, Tiwa, who clutched her new born baby, scrolled through the photographer’s camera to confirm he did not take pictures of her and her baby. It took several minutes before the photographer was left to go.

myners007:
Banks to demand BVN from today
2:55 am1658Oyetunji Abioye

Deposit Money Banks will today (Monday) begin to request for the Bank Verification Numbers from their customers before providing basic banking services.

This followed the Saturday expiration of the October 31, 2015 deadline set by the Central Bank of Nigeria for all bank customers to obtain their BVN.

As of Friday, the Nigeria Interbank Settlement System Plc, the organisation in charge of the BVN project, said 20.8 million customers had so far registered and obtained their BVN.

The NIBSS, which is owned by the CBN and the DMBs, had last week said it had spent over N8bn on the BVN project.

According to the Managing Director, NIBSS, Mr. Ayo Shonubi, there are 45 million bank accounts in the country.

This means that about 24.2 million bank accounts have yet to be registered.

But the CBN has said that the number of bank customers who have not obtained their BVN should be far less than this figure given the fact that an average Nigerian owns about two to three bank accounts.

“Given the tradition of multiple account-holding by an average Nigerian, which could be conservatively estimated at about two or three per an account holder, therefore, it could be safely assumed that over 40 million accounts might have been enrolled to the BVN,” the central bank explained on Thursday

“Furthermore, some Nigerian bank customers in the Diaspora have taken advantage of more facilities provided for enrolment in more locations abroad.

“It is evident that there has been less pressure in banking halls across the country, which goes to buttress the fact that a greater percentage of account holders have been enrolled with the exception of those yet to link their accounts to their BVN.”

Shonubi had last Monday expressed optimism that all bank customers would register before the October 31 deadline.

As of Friday, only a handful of customers seeking to obtain the BVN were noticed in banking halls across the country.

Romance / Re: Stop Making Significant Promises At The Onset Of A Relationtionship. by thebestonearth(m): 4:20am On Nov 02, 2015
Sarang:

We have stages of a relationship, They progressively go till it reaches its climax, But the mistake we do most at times is that, at the first stage we start taking significant Decisions.

You see, The first stage of a relationship, You'll be infatuated, Flying on the wings of that thrilling feeling, Your hormones are strong that time. You'll be like: "I've met the love of my life"
"I can't do without him/her"
This is always a time when emotions are burning and there's this strong attachment too.
Now, The mistake we make is that We Start promising Marriage and making great promises at this stage, Which is wrong. Cos at this time we are almost blinded by emotions and been driven by irrationality. At this stage, We haven't discovered all about this person but yet we feel they're just the best for us.

Falling in Love is what every tom, Dick and harry can do, After the passion and romantic energy, and after the realisation of your senses, can you still stay in that love?

The day you wake up and say you have married the wrong person is the day that your marriage truly begins. It means that this is the day where the veil of infatuation lifts and the 20/20 vision of everyday living comes in.
At the second stage, the infatuation has cleared, that's when you'll be like:
"OMG, he tells the worst jokes."
"Mehn She's too short"
All this while na feelings blind you o!

That's when you'll start regretting your promises, for some people by then its late, maybe cos they are married..

Romantic love is really psychological. And we must understand its process if we don't want to make great mistakes.
Its very wrong to promise a person you are in love with marriage when you haven't discovered their weakness.

You must allow your relationship grow to a level where you completely know all the irritating things about your partner, that's when you'll know if You LOVED them, or you were just Thrilled with HORMONAL promptings..

The first one to two months of a relationship, Biko enjoy the feeling but don't make any serious promise. Cos at that stage, Everything will be sweet, Even the fart of your partner sef.

NWayo nwayo or you might regret your decision later.

I'll be continuing on this subject later, its very broad.

Nairaland / General / Re: We All Have Different Times. Be Patient For Yours. by thebestonearth(m): 4:12am On Nov 02, 2015
Sarang:

Last year some of my classmates graduated from the university, This year many are graduating, But the truth is that I'm still an undergraduate. That doesn't give me any inferior feeling. Yesterday I was discussing with a friend who remonstrated bitterly cos he hasn't even gained admission into the university, meanwhile our mates are graduating.
He felt very insecure and had somewhat concluded that his lot was bad..

I tried talking to him, Making him understand that we are here on different assignments. Life to us all can't happen same way.
Maybe you are reading this, And all your mates are graduating, when you've just gotten admission..
All your mates are doing good jobs, And you're still hopping from one menial job to another..
All your mates are getting married, even your younger ones are getting married, But you haven't even found a compatible partner..
You have been married for many years, yet no child, and people who got married much after you have their children..

I just wanna tell you not to get discouraged. Let go of that competitive spirit. The first to graduate from school, get a job, or get married doesn't necessarily mean he/she is superior.
Time and chances happen to us all differently. Life is a personal race, if you wanna bring out your best and be happy, then don't judge yourself with the progress of others.

Sometimes circumstances beyond human control, we get entangled in. We have no option than to lean on God.
Build your esteem and don't define your life and worth based on what others have that you don't.
Sometimes what you lack isn't a result of laziness, and sometimes what others have isn't a result of their much hard work.
Its not left for us to evaluate and judge.

All we should do is accept the fact that we ain't others, and our life isn't close to same with theirs.
Appreciate people's progress, no matter how much you are not progressing.
Like Linda Ikeji said "Sometimes God delays a part of our life cos he wants to increase us in other parts"

You might not be where you want to be, You may not have met up with your mates, But if you look clearly, You'll see what you have that they don't have.

I'm not a graduate, But most graduate still seek my coaching, and knowledge. I have what they don't have.
Same with you, You might not have what you want, But what you have is what others want.

They are buying their cars, you don't have one now. But don't forget that when you'll get yours, theirs will be old model.
No time is late for God, he can bless you today for all the years that seemed wasted.

There's always a time to shine. There's always a season of celebration. It mustn't come when others are celebrating.
God is taking you somewhere.

Be encouraged and Motivated.

However, true to my source’ words, actions don’t lie..They have hinted at their breakup..She totally ignored him on his birthday, instead putting up a quote..He also alluded to the fact he wants to be free and is starting over ….

Meanwhile, this is why its a bad idea to flaunt your love on social media when you are not 100% sure of ending up with that person…Everyone knows when you fight, breakup and the embarrasment of deleting photos is too much..

Hopefully, they get back together because she is the first girl Ice Prince openly claimed ..

Politics / Re: MTN Bows To Pressure, Agrees To Pay N1.04trn Fine by thebestonearth(m): 3:27am On Nov 02, 2015
kahal29:
While pleading for staggered payment model, MTN has finally bowed to pressure as it has accepted to pay the N1.04 trillion fine slammed on it last week by the telecoms regulatory authority, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

Accordingly, the telecoms operator was fine for violating its directive on SIM deactivation.

This follows series of meeting held between MTN management team from South Africa and Nigeria with the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

The telecoms operator which has largest subscriber base in Nigeria, it was gathered, may have agreed to pay the fine to sustain the interest of its telecoms business.

Industry sources who confirmed the new arrangement, disclosed that the federal government is already yielding to the plea, which according to him, was part of the agreement reached at the series of meeting held at the weekend in Nigeria.

“There have been series of meeting at the Presidency between the Vice President Osinbajo and MTN team both from South Africa and the Nigerian arm. MTN wanted a waiver considering their level of investments in the country, but government did not buy the idea of waiver. Instead, I think there will be concession, but certainly not a waiver. At the conclusion of the meeting, the MTN people negotiated on how to stagger the payment. The Presidency is even angry because MTN was a signatory to the regulation, but they are failing to comply with rules.”, the source added.

It would be recalled that NCC had said that MTN would not escape the fine, owing to the enormity of its implication to national security.

Although NCC had hinted that the issue is being handled by the federal government, the telecoms authority also noted that MTN would risk withdrawal of its licence if its fails to comply with the fine.

Even with the widespread calls for the intervention of the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA), on the N1.04 trillion fine, Chief Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), had last week called on the NSA not to intervene in the matter, adding that NCC regulation must take its course.

NCC said it had consistently engaged Mobile Network Operators, (MNOs) to strictly adhere to the regulations and its business rules in the registration of their subscribers.

Following several engagements, the Commission had confirmed various cases of violations of the regulations and sanctioned appropriately.
