The PFA Fans’ Premier League Player of the Month for October has been named – and it’s Chelsea’s Eden Hazard who has scooped the honour. Hazard has played a pivotal role in Chelsea’s rise up the Premier League table of late, scoring three goals and assisting one more in four Premier League games over the month, as the Blues have risen to fourth and just one point behind current leaders Manchester City. The Belgian has scored five league goals this season, which already represents a better return than his four strikes in the whole of the last campaign. Hazard won 27,262 votes on the poll, which has held by Sky Sports, with Arsenal winger Theo Walcott coming in second with 14,737. Walcott scored two goals and assisted one for the Gunners as they remained unbeaten throughout the month. Stoke midfielder Joe Allen came in third with 14,491 votes, the Welshman having inspired three wins and a draw for his side with three goals and two assists.
