Please what catering school did u attend?? Is it in Lagos? yinx007: This year, after searching for a job so bad I didn't get.. I enrolled in a catering schl, fine tuned my baking skills and since I have a passion for cooking it made it easier for me, learnt cakes, decoration of cakes, sharwama, kebabs... Took it a notch higher... Taught myself cookies and some soups nt peculiar to my tribe.. I intended adding IT skillz to it but I'll pick that up next year and fine tune my french once and for all cuz I'm 55% good with french.. Would write the necessary exams.. Another skill I achieved was learning to memorize bible verses... I love to read but had issues with memorizing my bible verses.. |
Tried sending u a mail Sir Sagamite.. |
Its really sad no one is commenting on this thread...skills are extremely important in the Nigeria that we have found ourselves. |

I have used SAS in the past and Excel is always handy. Recently, i discovered Minitab and it is really helpful. To gather data in vast amount, i use KAPOW and of course it doesn't end there. When i fisrt got the role of a analyst, i felt all i needed was data analysis and report writing skills. Turned out i also had to learn advanced Microsoft Access to structure my data before using SAS, Minitab, and Excel. These days, my advice to analysts is "you should learn everything from data mining, database structuring and administration, plus data analysis with the help of modern tools & software". Lastly, remember that the business of transforming raw data into reliable information & insight ultimately requires common sense too. I'd be back to read more from other contributors. At least today we aren't bashing Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa here but if anybody cares to start, i am fully ready and charged up as usual. Sir, Please how can one learn these tools, in my current employment, i dont use these but would like to learn,m what do u suggest ? |
Where are the Business Analysts ? I have a lot of questions for the moderator: 1. The discipline of Business Analysis is not very prevalent here in Nigeria, except within the Telcos why is this so ? 2. Why do they not have many opening as regards BA's ? 3. Aside the role of a PM or Sales depending on the organisational structure, which other role can a BA migrate into ? 4. Aside the CCBA's and CBAP's , there seems not to be any other exams one can write too ? |
For one who is veering off into Internal Audit, without a background in Accounting, what advice would u give ? |
