good day Nairaland peeps i was denied my student visa on thursday 22nd of june in lagos by the guy in window 4 around 8 am , the guy was just giving out refusals like someone giving kids candy . i believe i answered all the questions asked by the VO properly but i was refused for reasons best known to him .

i got an admission to study master's in game design at full sail university in florida and it's a nationally accredited private university . i wrote TOEFL and i studied computer science for my bachelor's degree , i intend to apply again for an interview at the embassy .

my questions are do i stand a chance ? is the school credible enough for a student visa ? please note full sail university is one of the best schools for the course i put in for in the states and it's ranked number 11 and 12 respectively on several educational sites

i am 30 years old , single but i have ties to my country through work ( i work with Bet9ja and KC gaming networks ) and i have also traveled out of the country on 4 different occasions , i even went to south Africa this February .

do i still stand a chance this time around ? i want people's candid opinion

Another thing is, I finished national youth service late 2015 and since then till now, I haven't been "officially" employed. Been job hunting and pursuing some entrepreneurial interests. I fear these VOs may not understand why and it may pose a problem? Thoughts on how best to navigate this, please?

Some part of your analysis makes sense, however, one is tempted to ask - "what happened to the first come first serve" clause?

One would have thought that those who met the benchmark required to progress to stage 2, would have received their invites to do so.

If Mr. A meets the benchmark (let's say 80/100 4 d BM) to proceed to d nxt stage and he's not progressed to continue his 2nd stage assessment, but gets served the love letter because Mr. B's 1st stage assessment was relatively better, then the "first come first serve" clause would have become invalid.

The only logically acceptable explanation why Mr. A got served d love letter, should be because he didn't meet d benchmark, otherwise, they might have to put up an explanation on what they meant by "first come first serve "

Abi na first come first collect ur love letter

Still on this case scenario, don't you think if A had known it would be a comparative assessment against all d applicants and not an assessment to beat d benchmark , he could have taken his time to gather information -including tips from those who went ahead- to stay ahead of the competition?

The mail acknowledging the receipt of application and the one that was sent for the online assessment was from enterprise@trm.brassring.com not recruitment@shell.com (This is just the name given to the mail). The one sent for the video was sent by interviews@hirevue.com (Shell Graduate Recruitment is the name). I want to agree there is a recruitment ongoing because it is on their official website, but the mails thou. Let us keep our fingers crossed.

They r aware but they knw dat we have to pass thru dat stage then they will assess it themselves. We r getin such mails because is thru shell ovaraw website. Didnt u notice dat wen u search 4 graduate trainee on their search job tools, only commercial interface job, pops up for nigeria? U wont get dat applicatn on www.shell.com/careers rather on www.shell.com.ng/careers u will see it. And the title was named "employment opportunities(i.e 10000 vacant positions) 2017- nigeria." Be smart, u guys should be calm, watch till 2 weeks time & see my predictns unfold.

Take it or leave it, shell hav done their part but shell nigeria is yet 2 assess theirs. Hello guys, Happy new year everyone. I have decided to double up my job search effort this year. I need a team of 3 to 4 people(any gender can do), who are ready to join me in gate crashing in any of the top oil firms here in ph(trans amadi, onne, eleme.....) this January.
I got this hint that most firms don't advertise anymore because of the crowd turn up. We can meet, plan and strategize before each movements.
