The only way to help his wife out of the problem is to tell people that they were just acting it, that it wasn't real. if he claims the incidence is real , the woman will go to court oo and it wont help the man matter at all

All I would ask is for Him to present His untorn passport, immediately. And compare the travel stamps with that of His Wife and Kids. (Except, of course, He is working with the immigration people, as you alluded)
