And some people here were defending that statement.
“I’m not sure if they’ll play in a 5-3-2 again, or switch to their more familiar 4-3-3. That depends on their last tests for Ramos and Mendy today.

Based on their decision with the formation, of course, things change, because every formation has its strengths and weaknesses.

In the end, in a semi-final of the Champions League, I believe that it’s not about the formation. It’s not about what we play, or what Real Madrid plays — it’s about how we play it.

‘How’ means, what belief do we have? What intensity do we have? Are we brave enough? Are we playing courageous enough? Are we playing at a top level with our formation?”

Finidi is 100% right in that statement. Tuchel repeated the same thing. I watched a recent interview of Oliver Glasner, coach of Crystal Palace and he said the same thing.

You can't try Finidi's exposure working with Coach Monday Sinclair, Van Gaal, Louis Aragounes. Sometimes people should learn.

Oliver Glasner formation is not the most important - Notes from Oliver Glasner

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has explicitly stated that the system or formation a team plays is not the most important factor in success. Instead, he emphasizes the importance of player habits, patterns, and how players behave on the pitch.

Glasner's Philosophy on Formations
Glasner believes that a manager should adapt the system to fit the available players, rather than forcing players into a rigid system. He has highlighted several key points regarding his approach:

"The system must fit the players": He always looks at which system might suit the current squad best.

I am actually expecting nothing less than an explosive Super Eagles under Chelle. Our players need to buy into his philosophy and embrace him.

If they soak in his knowledge of the game, I see the Super Eagles flying high and becoming one of the most fierce national sides in the game.
You can imagine.

Call lookman your best player at this afcon so far ,call osimhen your best player ,call Brahim diaz your best player which is all good

But the best player at this afcon so far is Alexander iwobi
Mine has been Calvin Bassey.

Nigeria team improve with every game,a right tactics we're beating Morocco, forget Lookman matter,we have enough on the bench, Aina and Frederick didn't make it and see performance
How can I forget Lookman when he is one of the deadliest weapons in the game? I have no doubt he can out perform what he has done so far and I am expecting a banger from Ademola Lookman against Morocco.

One way we can achieve this is for Ademola Lookman to believe that if he transitions the ball quicker, he will be in more favorable positions to provide assists and goals.

Finito.

He is bro, what's being a lethal as a player,if someone is playing behind two top men and have 3 goals so far and someone is telling me he need to fix something to be more lethal then that person is biased....the most lethal super eagles player is Osimhen and is on what goal, see sometimes we don't need to be talking as if we're watching different game from others...oya rate Lookman in this tournament and compare his performance with what thegoodjie was saying about him....common man, this is a player with four assists and three goals and all off a sudden he must fix this and that, very disrespectful analysis.
How can I be biased when I genuinely believe Lookman can even excel more? I am pointing out a place where he can even do better than how well he has done.

I used to be very vocal about Osimhen not using space and hammered on it repeatedly. Later he fixed that issue and won the league and golden boot in Italy.

That can't be classed as negative bias.

Won 2-0 yesterday. I have no doubt in my mind we could do far more than that. Same with Lookman.

Constructive criticism is not negative bias.

Pls what's being a lethal as a footballer?Oga stop trying to justify your comment, you're too biased in your analysis of Lookman, someone already had 3 goals playing behind two top men and you're talking if he fix it he would be lethal... you're disrespecting the guy too much and all these started after on field drama between him and Osimhen, firstly you used the word sabotage and asked you who are the players sabotaging the team?no answer till date, now it's transitioning and funny you're talking about Lookman being lethal... common man this is APOTY winner who scored hat trick in Europa final, had 3 goals in last Afcon, already on 3 goals in this Afcon, created Nigeria most chances,a candidate for MVP of this tournament,Nawa o.
Haaland is lethal. I believe Lookman can become lethal and do even more. One of the things I am expecting in our game against Morocco is faster transitions and Lookman being a big part of it.

How you can still see expecting Lookman to do better than his good performance a negative bias beats me.

Literally singled out a player after such team performance??..habba
It is what I noticed and it is for an improved performance of the team. Lookman played well but what stood out for me were moments for transition he missed. I believe if she fixes it, he would be lethal.

Apparently, you are trying to interpret thegoodjoe's bias analyses. How can you see other players playing the same but you single out one player to improve his game?

Are you telling me the other players don't need improvement?

Maybe you think everybody are dun.ce but I am not. I can read through comments. This is not preconceived notion. These are written and posted here that can be presented as facts.. No call dog monkey for me. Abeg.

Abi, you no dey here when some claimed SE can't score more that 2 goals whenever Lookman plays or he is not good behind 2 strikers? No lie you didn't see that.
Below is my post on Iwobi during the Tunisian game.

TheGoodJoe:
Iwobi is pulling a brilliant shift with his running but he needs to increase his long passing level. If he can keep falling deep to the deep lying playmaker role and get his long passes right, we will rip these Tunisians to shreds. A lot lies on Iwobi.

Iwobi should scan for spaces and stop trying to thread tight passes. In the words of Tuchel, there is always space. Iwobi needs to spend more time finding spaces.
In the game against Mozambique, there was a sharp increase Iwobi's long pass game.

I only try to see where there needs improvement and Lookman increasing his transition frequency will work in the team and his favor. There was no bias at all.

This game and you didn't examine him in previous games about his transition and how many players did you give critical analysis like this so far in this tournament, funny you said his deficiency showed more than his good work.... Oga thegoodjoe your comment on him is general not on this game..... remember your word sabotage which you later turned to sabotage play and sabotage team, now a player with two MOTM and good assists is a player you judged today and you came out with "his deficiency is more than his good work, haba, make we dey encourage these boys.
I think the problem is your perspective of what you think I mean. I am always about how we can improve. With faster transitions, we would annihilate teams with more efficiency. A lot of it lies in Lookman. If he fixes this, he will excel at a high level.

Today, we saw Osimhen choose to lay the ball for Adams instead of going for goal. Wanting Lookman to be efficient at such is not a bad thing.

Possibly Chuckwueze or Simon should replace Lookman in starting XI since he is the major issue...again Lookman caused us not to whitewash Algeria just like he failed us by not adding more goals against Mozambique.... complain complain...beating Algeria una think say na moi moi...all the players played perfectly well today....Lookman deficiency showed more than his good work?even Chelle will not agree with you so far in this tournament

I am not talking about the tournament but this game. I am also being constructive of how Lookman can improve on what he has done so far.

There is always room for improvement and Lookman improving in his transition will see us even perform better and Lookman scoring more.

Lookman was sound but I think his deficiency showed more than his good work.

Lookman seems not to fully grasp the role.

On many occasions he tried to do things himself. His offensive play should come after transition, not before. There were times he released the ball late and times to pass he held the ball. Lookman fixes this and the team gets even stronger.

Expect Chelle to iron this with Lookman. Get the ball to the attackers fast and then join them in the attack.

Even though we won, I still feel a pinch of sadness because we had the arsenal to demolish the Algerians. It is clear that Chelle sees this as the business end of the tournament and does not want to make unnecessary risks.

Well managed game by the Boss.

@A
akwesenana:
Choosing not to pass to a player in space is not necessary intentional nor is it sabotage. The player might be camped in offside, or the player with the ball feels there's a better chance of him scoring than the player he intends to pass to. Nuance is very important in such situations. All being said, sabotage is a very strong word.
This is actually out of context. The context is about a player being in a better position to score and the person with the ball knows the person in space is in a better position. Feeling does not count but sticking to the tactical grounds. This is not about not passing to a player in an offside position.

The point is simple, pass to the person in space and better position.

Finito.

Good 3-0 but if we're trailing Mozambique by a goal he sabotaged the team right not play?
If we were down a goal, Bruno would have chosen to get the ball to Osimhen. Because he has no intention of sabotaging the team.

That is why I hope Chelle changes their mindset to aim for strict adherence to the system, even if we are leading 10-0.

It is a game of mastery and continuous practice.
