Really an emotional period for Manchester City. Many will talk about the amount trophies won. To me it was about the growth of the team. Watching players moulded into legends.
From Bernardo Silva to Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, Laporte, Walker, Cancelo, Sane, Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Zinchenko, Delph, David Silva, Phil Foden and others.
Even this season, the second half was a masterclass when Pep brought in Semenyo and Guehi.
We have seen excellent football displays and it is down to his passion. Pep will surely be missed.
Lekan239: yes exactly, no equipment, training and welfare of the doctors. Infact one was boosting putting the state money needed for development in banks where he has shares while doctors strike for good 13month bcus they where asking for equipment and good welfare. But seriously, Nigerians deserves there leaders
We know who is using his personal money to fund healthcare by a large margin compared to the Federal Government.

The doctors' strike was more about politics than money. Opponents of Peter Obi’s government used the strike to make him look bad by demanding the state pay the exact same high salaries as the Federal Government. This was a "trap" because they knew the state budget couldn't afford it without going broke. While Obi was busy fixing broken hospitals and getting them official accreditation, political rivals encouraged the strike to keep going just to cause trouble. In the end, it wasn't that he didn't care about doctors; he simply refused to bankrupt the state for a political game, choosing instead to spend money on ambulances and equipment that would help everyone.
ekineme: Why don't we have emergency responses to issues like this, Every time counts, The teaching hospital in Question, what are they waiting for? Do they require police report to treat accident victim?
You should ask if they have equipment and training. The price of looting.
nairalanda1: Well there have been some refining licences issued since the subsidy went and BUA is building his own refinery by the way.
Also why shifting the goal post old man?
Finally , CBN gave Dangote loans amounting to about 2billion dollars in eleven years. Dangote got most of the loans from international banks , local banks which amounted to 3 billion and a 3 billion loan from the African development Bank. The CBN loan has since been repaid.
Again Dangote got loans because he had other lucrative businesses which were in essence defacto collateral
Give more local refining companies loans and you will get more foreign investments due to work on ground.
nairalanda1: Also a simple search shows that there are 23 refienries currently in development.
Again, I am not defending anyone. Just staring facts. Had subsidy gone earlier we would have had more refineries.
No one invests in an industry where there is subsidy..Venezuela had subsidy for years . By 2008 refining capacity was down from 900000 to 100000 bpd. And no this was not because sanctions, it was a process that stated when they were not under us sanctions.
Run things at a loss , problems start
Most of those so called refineries were in development since Goodluck Jonathan and Buhari. It is not the Subsidy. Production capacity has nothing to do with Subsidy. Because, most are exported to the international market.
The refinery came from direct government investment. Not just external investments. That is what you are missing. If Government directly supports more like they did Dangote, we will have more refineries.
nairalanda1: Dangote was able to build his refineries under subsidy because he had a lot of other lucrative businesses
( Bear with me, I'll soon explain)
A key problem with subsidy is the price controls inherent in subsidy. That means that any bank or financial institution or investor investing in a refinery in a country where subsidy is in place is going to see no return on investment at all.
In 2012 , there were over 20 refinery licences issued. As at December 2011, fuel cost 65 at the pump. Landing cost was 99 naira which meant that production cost was probably above 80 naira per liter. Subsidy payments were already problematic.
So , which bank would lend money to someone wanting to build a refinery under such circumstances?
Dangote was able to find willing lender's not because he is a member of the Illuminati or a free mason but because he had other lucrative businesses. If he finished his refinery and subsidy with its price controls was still in place , meaning losses and inability to pay back the loans, AMCON will just take over his other businesses and pay the creditors back their money.
That's why Dangote was able to build. None of the other licensee had that advantage of owing a whole asse conglomerate.
I repeat, since the Subsidy is gone, why is there no refinery springing up if that was the reason.
Dangote worked because of massive government support. He got billions of dollars from Buhari 's government as loan. That is all.
If Government support more companies, they will bloom. The rest is story.
seunmsg: Excuses, excuses and more excuses. Tinubu chased you from APGA to PDP and then LP before chasing you to ADC. Dude, take responsibility for your political failures and stop looking for who to blame all over the place.
Serious presidential candidate will take the pain to build a political platform for their aspiration. Atiku owns ADC and he will pick the party’s presidential ticket. This has nothing to do with Tinubu. Put in the work and stop crying all over the place. Nobody will gift you their platform. Build your own.
I am surprised you still have mouth to talk after the Tinubu you pushed down people's throat has been a catastrophic failure.
Our defense is another place that needs more work. Even though we have been exposed a lot, I see it as part of the training. When once they master how to hold their line and track back with speed, we will also perform at a higher level.
Very sad loss but Manchester City fans need to look on the bright side. The team is still a work in progress. We have shown formidable form. There will be more additions before the bright days come.
It takes a lot of work and time to rebuild a great side but these players will come good.
TheSuperNerd: Hi Great Thread of Nigerian Football, it is indeed a good day to be alive and be excited for what 2026 still promises.
Today is My Birthday and I want to remind everyone out there not to give up on whatever their dreams, aims, aspirations, project pursuits, goals, etc are. Victor Osimhen did not and look at him today and his story is still not done. John Mikel Obi did not and now he is a bonafide Nigerian legend. Rashidi "Rasheed" Yekini did not and he remains the one of the pinnacles among African Strikers today.
Lastly, on a flip note, Elyte89 is still not giving up on his Super Eagles job dream despite we all knowing how impossible it is and he is also not giving up on Nigeria heading to USCAMEX 2026 World Cup, so honestly what excuse you get?
Cheers to me and Cheers to us all.... God Bless You.
Happy Birthday day. May God bless you with numerous wonderful years filled with joy, fulfillment, success and thanksgiving.
God save us from this administration. Achievement of Minister of Housing is Land Administration.
No sustainable housing project. No review of the escalating cost of rents. No financial support to help middle to low income earners own and build homes. No rent to own homes project.
There is nothing mediocre about Amaechi's achievement in his time as Governor. There was a year Rivers State was recognized as the World Book capital due to advancement in education by Amaechi.
Freshandfitpod: While children in river state are still sitting on the floor taking classes
Amaechi built some of the best public schools in the history of Nigeria. Hundreds of them. Offered free education, free text books, uniforms and sandals. Trained over ten thousand teachers to work in those schools. He is different.
TheSuperNerd: This Oliseh ehn. Anyway as you know, I have always been Pro-Amunike and so is TheGoodJoe but right now, no way am I accepting a change of hands in the coaching reins of the Super Eagles. Absolutely not. Amunike is experienced and all, proven yes but let him keep doing his thing at Heartland in the NNL to bring them back into the NPFL.
I dont wanna have to start from square one especially with us heading in the right direction under Chelle.
Eric Chelle has given this team a bonafide playing identity. An attacking side who uses possession to transit directly, create chances upon chances and choke the opponents into conceeding more than they can try against us.
Eric Chelle has to be left to continue his work abeg while Amunike should continue his work at Heartland for now abeg.
Why change a good thing?
I agree. I think we need a long run to check how formidable Chelle's system is. What is even more interesting about his system is that it fits into the Nigerians are Rushians philosophy. That is Nigerians are built for attacking football.
I will prefer Amunike focused totally on doing something special with Heartland than thinking of the Super Eagles.
Even if Chelle is to leave, I believe Samson Siasia deserves a full shot at the Super Eagles job.
TheSuperNerd: Yes, I am aware of their use of advanced tech in games and teams analysis but even with all that, they still cant just play fair.... as good as their analytical tech is, as good as their team is, they seem to prefer gaining advantages through imbalanced officiating.
It disgusts me.
I also find it disgusting. The bullying of teams makes the image of their team look bad.
TheSuperNerd: Morocco close to finalising agreement to recruit Andreas Iniesta into the Moroccan Technical staff ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
TheGoodJoe, what do you make of this? Lol
We also need to keep in mind that the Moroccans have added some advanced intelligence system which they use to study teams. This might be also a move to help them assimilate the data they get from teams and learn how to apply it.
Either way, I see only a win-win scenario from this.
