komekn: Only talent is not enough. That is why I strictly used the word talent. Talents still needs nurturing and discipline. |

komekn: To win the U17 World Cup. To come south as the best player of the U17. To come out as the highest goalscorer in the U17. It means these players are special. Managing them is another part of the story. But when it comes to talent, they are special talents. Finito. 1 Like |

Napoleon55: The point is that the tactility and intensity of the game today is above that of the past. Meaning that what gave the likes of Oliseh, Kanu, and Henry leverage in the past, more players are exposed to it today. |

komekn: The point is simple. To achieve in the midst of such quality of the likes of Brazil, Argentina and Europeans is spectacular. Finito. |

Kog45: First of all, I will disagree with the notion that Kanu is average. For a person that watched lots of Kanu's games, I say he was actually key to a lot of our good plays. I still don't understand what changed but in the past,.we had lots of tactical players that had deep understanding of the game. Sunday Oliseh, Celestine Babayaro, Finidi George, Emmanuel Amunike and Kanu Nwankwo were those that really caught my attention. Kanu was not the kind of striker that gummed the final fourth or 18 yard box to grab goals. He instead was the player that operated very deep to create room for other offensive players to shine. You can call him average when it came to goals for the Super Eagles but when it comes to contributions for the Super Eagles to fly, he was creme and supreme of most players. 3 Likes |

charlesemeka85: Celestine Babayaro was on another level. His technical and tactical play was brilliant. He was the first defender I watched Jockey. He was thrilling to watch. His marking was superb too. 1 Like 1 Share |

Mujtahida: Literally not saying anything. Which coach do you like? Let us start from there to understand what you hate. Because when you talk Tiki Taka, it is mostly about playing a heavy possession style which most top coaches adopt. Guardiola, Arteta, Ten Hag, Tuchel, Enrique, Ancelotti, Michel Sanchez, Xavi etc. All work towards dominating possession. You can't say you hate Tiki Taka on one hand and say you like possession football. They are the same thing. |

Kog45: It might not be on par with the World Cup but I believe it is a very respectable tournament. Many greats, not just Messi played in it. Off the top, Marquez, Xavi, Eto, Ronaldinho, Zamorano, Pirlo etc. It is too huge to dismiss. 1 Like 1 Share |

Kog45: I don't think we can class it just an underage tournament when some of the best players in the world were there. Ronaldo De Lima Rivaldo Roberto Carlos Crespo Claudio Lopez Zanetti Juninho Conceicao Gallardo By the end of that year, these guys were among the very best in the world. So I disagree with that underage tag and Atlanta should not be overlooked for Celestine's contributions. 3 Likes 3 Shares |

Napoleon55: The education and growth is the most important thing. That is why for a long time, I have called for the Super Eagles to play heavy possession football. The players grow with time. It redefines a lot of things. 1 Share

Mujtahida: When you say all these things, I laugh. Possession football is here to stay and grow. No top club will sign a coach who can't coach possession football. More coaches are mastering and learning the art. |

Mujtahida: How will the team perform? The first thing is strategy. Is not to stand here to say you don't like this or that. Tell us the pattern of play you like and examples why it is superior. Teams keep adopting possession based strategy. See Arsenal today, at a Five minutes window, they hit a 96% possession. Teams are winning titles. Then you are here shouting you don't like. Tell us the better PERFORMING system. 1 Like 1 Share |

Napoleon55: What you miss is the education that comes with it. When a team is learning to play possessively, their understanding of the game improves. I watched Wolves today and even though they lost, it was nice watching how they play in a refreshing fashion. Watch Fluminense Tiki Taka passes against Manchester City. FLUMINENSE passes against MANCITY | Tiki Taka Football | Fifa Club World Cup Final 2023 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItLz-iymNhg So it must not be De Bruyne and Xavi before it can be executed. It is the education and building of the players that most count. |

elyte89: Very brilliant video. Loved every bit of it. Short and straight to the point. His list of tactical masters he worked under is impressive. Especially Sinclair, Van Gaal and Aragounes. I did not keep in mind Coach Finidi worked with Aragounes. That man was a coach I admired a lot. He raised that Spanish team that went on to become all conquering. I think he won the first Euro before the other trophies kept coming. Aragounes played an impressive possessive pattern too. I hope Finidi gets the room to work and stitches together a refreshing passing team for us. He is well tutored. Playing for possessive tacticians all his life. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

lbrichman2: But, the deal should happen after Arne signs for Liverpool. Ironic that one of Klopp's assistant, Pep Ljinders is Dutch too. Maybe there is already communication going on. |

lbrichman2: However, if it works out well, then Osimhen can score a huge historic win. If Arne is somewhere behind asking for Osimhen, then I feel Osimhen should take the move but keep the contract short to three years. Just because of his offensive playing poetry will bring the best from Osimhen. |

lbrichman2: I like his style of play and looks a solid choice. However, in recent times, Dutch passing master coaches have hit brick walls and can't seem to transcend their philosophy to other leagues. Good examples have been Ten Hag, Peter Bosz and Frank De Boer. Arne Slot seems a gamble for me and one that seems also a gamble move if Osimhen is going there. If he does not flourish, Osimhen gets trapped if the next manager does not like him. |

AndSunGorilla: So I think if Osimhen's team considers the move, they can wait for his announcement, study his philosophy and especially how he uses his strikers before jumping in. This move is a critical one for Osimhen because he will be playing in his prime. 1 Like |

humility33: I want to paint a picture of the kind of talents that grace the U17. It is a big affair and very difficult. It is one tournament that makes me believe in the strength of our talents. When we do it right like in the time of Maigari we rule. That does not mean it is easy. The tournament attracts the best young talents at U17 level. I don't think Germany has won it. That is how tough it is. |

Kog45: No. The discussion is which competition is bigger. I am telling you the U17 is a bigger competition. It is not a strictly Nigeria competition. The stars it produces shows the class of the competition. |
