Goke7: People get mind o to cry for the eagles 😂 someone even posted that two elderly people in his area had to be rushed to hospital around 11pm! I hail those who deployed so much emotions for the eagles. Me I had my dinner before the match, was in night gown and was on my bed after the game in fact it was on my bed I was posting on this thread last night!
My heart goes out to everyone one experiencing such heartbreaking moments. I hope the players see such videos and understand how their shitty play affects many Nigerians. On a more serious note, I actually lost a neighbor this morning. He had BP issues. Your post makes me ponder. Sad incident. |

TheSuperNerd: Zaidu was more needed. Benjamin was doing enough in distribution while also keeping up his defensive duties. I doubt Bruno would have coped defensively like Zaidu did all game till he was subbed. Very fair point.
What thrills me about inversion is cutting off supply. If you can cut the supply to the wingers, you won't need to win defensive battles. Also, if we controlled our transitions better we won't need that much defensive ability of Sanusi. |

TheSuperNerd: They dont get it. When we insist on 433, we also emphasize personnel tactical balance.
In a midfield 2, play your Ndidi and Iwobi. Or pair Onyeka and Iwobi.
But in a midfield 3, be careful, you must absolutely have a genuine 1st phase ball receiver and 2nd phase balk distributor. Onyeka and Ndidi are not such.
Personnel selection is so important. Not just picking 3 midfielders coz they are available and throwing them in together hoping for magic. If there is no balance technically and tactically, it wont hold eventually. Well elaborated. I see Chelle has really worked on Ndidi but that fluidity is not there. We need naturals. |

TheSuperNerd: Actually Zaidu deserves his spot as the first choice LB ahead of Bruno. Was solid all through. Where Bruno Onyemachi rules is his ability to play as an inverted full back. This will help give us numbers in the middle. He also has better distribution than Sanusi. What Sanusi brings is the work rate, defensive ability and great in duels. He bombards the flank well.
However, I believe so much in inversion and increasing numbers in the midfield. This is where Bruno Onyemachi and Ola Aina shines. |

hatakekakashi: NFF can't take all the blames. We all know they're bunch of incompetent frauds running NFF but today's performance is on these players. How do you get outplayed in that manner? And they call themselves pro players? Some of them can't even do basic things🤦♂️ When the midfield set up is wrong the players can't force a good performance.
It is just sad our football is run in secret, if not I would have loved to see Eric Chelle's report on this playoff and see his proposed solution. That will give us a chance to know if we should be optimistic with him. |

codemaniacs: SE does not train on how to transit the ball from defense to midfield to attack.
If they trained, then SE won't be having a back 4 or back 6 most of the time they would have a back 2 because the fullbacks and DMs would move to midfield as ball transits but SE just sits and let's the opponents pressed them. Precisely. |

Meliforme: I said this regarding Nwabali, but many wants him dropped. Nwabali's ball distribution is sound. But he needs to tone down with his risky ball holding decisions under pressure. He needs to scan and distribute the ball faster. |

Openair: You guys here are really funny ooo... The team has been having lots of lapses all this while (especially without Osimhen) una no talk...now they lost in penalties.... all of a sudden all the problems u guys were padding abi na ignoring has suddenly come to light... Now na Afcon the team wan win abi...I hope we're given tougher countries in our group...so we can tell if the team has actually improved not the like walkover countries we had in the world cup qualifiers
TheGoodJoe: A sweet win but I still see the Eric Chelle is still sorting out his set up. We still have lots of work to do with our transition from midfield to attack, especially when dealing with a compact midfield.
I give him props with what he is doing with Ndidi but he needs to really work hard in building a more fluid midfield players.
I hope with time he switches to a more rich midfield set up. Notice the bolded. Not all watch games for winning but how we play. |

JohnBullMySon: Valid point though but Ghana wouldn't dominate us as DRC did. That one wouldn't happen. They will. I am not saying winning but they are more groomed to play and move, and dominate the ball than us. |

Mujtahida: Change to 4-3-3 change, change, change. Shey we see that it's often not the way we think that really is the right approach to these things We were dominated in the middle with 4-3-3. How do you expect them not to crucify us in a 4-4-2 system. Our problem is in the middle. |

We were not trained or set up to play today.

Dannyxy: didn’t we in win Afcon on Sunday 2013, this are not issues jare , Nigeria has to fix structures,,we neeed to decide if we want to actually progress and join the best of keep the trying our luck thing with mediocrity structures.
Where is under 17? where under 20? where under 23? Where is the league, all we want is for super eagles to keep performing so we can be using them to cover very poor structures, no please…. NFF have drowned our football. Amaju Pinnick was a cancer to our football. |

My belief is that Chelle is not in full control of squad selection. There is no reason keeping Onyedika out. |

i will always be an advocate of use the formula that gave you your win in the previous game….even people on this forum no dey like stay one place..all of una for here just like change change change change….whats the essence of switching to a 4:3:3, na wetin u use win your previous match?…..
drop Nwabali drop Nwabali….bring okoye bla bla bla🤣🤣🤣….like una no just get chill for here…
Nwabali will remain the best for now Actually, we were dominated totally in the midfield today. Going with an extra striker would have given the Congolese more control of an already dominated middle. |

TheSuperNerd: WE HAVE MIDFIELDERS BUT CHELLE IGNORES THEM.
AKINSANMIRO. UCHE, he doesnt know how to utilise.
Onyedika, he doesnt know how to utilise.
Again, I will say it... I laughed so hard when folks here were praising Chelle for saying he monitors over 500+ players overall or 80+ players weekly. That is cap! Complete cap! You dont monitor that much and not come up with tactical realisations on certain talents monitored. Is Onyedika injured? |
