demelza: I checked some online forums and saw some people saying Nelson Mandela would go to hell because he died a Buddhist. As a christian I understand that Jesus is the only way to heaven but..... Can any christian here make me understand why inspite of his numerous good works on earth, our loving God will still have the heart to send such a person to hell just because he never knew Jesus? Cant he grant some type of waiver? Cant he at least look at the good Nelson did for his people and take that into consideration? It looks so unfair and almost wicked. Had Christians absolutely any type of knowledge about the God they claim to worship, they would realise why the following word was written when it was written: "Of a truth I perceive that GOD is no respecter of persons." In other words, He neither discriminates, nor shows absolutely any type of partiality; and therefore it is written of Job (a man that was neither of the first covenant, which is of Israel; nor of the second covenant, unto which Christendom claims to cling: But, rather, was of the land of Uz - Edom, to be precise; descendants of the Esau of whom The LORD saith, "Esau have I hated" it is written of that very same Job, as that which it was that was said by The LORD: "Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth; a blameless and upright man, who fears GOD and turns away from evil?" For indeed of a truth I know in all its entirety that GOD is no respecter of persons: But in EVERY nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted by Him. - Ikoro Iyineleda. |

lalasticlala: …as Army foils attempt to seize Damboa
Scores of suspected members of the Boko Haram terrorists were yesterday killed by the troops of the Nigerian Army when they attempted to attack Damboa town, the headquarters of Damboa Local Government area of Borno State, according to sources.
A resident of the area, Mallam Mohammed Bulama, told our correspondent on phone that the insurgents who came at about noon to attack the town were crushed by the troops of 195 Battalion of the Nigerian army.
He said, “Scores of the Boko Haram insurgents, who attempted to attack Damboa at about 12:00 PM met their Waterloo, as the troops of the Nigerian Army intercepted them at Kalla village at the outskirts of Damboa”.
A civilian member of the Joint Task Force, JTF, Abbas Haske said the insurgents were intercepted at Kalla village, about two kilometers away from Damboa when the troops of the Nigerian Army sighted them.
He said, “The insurgents who came about noon were incepted by the troops, which swiftly reacted by shooting artillery missiles and repelled them; they crushed all of them, as scores of them were killed in the process.”
According to him, the army has done a good job, as the insurgents’ corpses and burnt vehicles were scattered by the roadside in the bushes.
A military source, who did not want his name in print, told our correspondent in Maiduguri that the troops in Damboa successfully foiled another attempt to take over the town, as they crushed the insurgents.
“Yes, our troops in Damboa this afternoon successfully foiled an attempt to sack Damboa town, where they killed scores of the insurgents,” he said.
http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/scores-of-boko-haram-terrorists-killed-in-borno/ And now, hast thou of those of Boko Haram made "corpses and burnt vehicles" "scattered by the roadside in the bushes?" Or are those thy most more damn version of the word, "Goal!!!" even as one thou kicked of so much that (even after a life that was burnt out on so much of sweat and toil that "were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written" even after such a life, that which thou concluded was his life was with thy word, "shame" - rendered the "same" only after thy evil had worked out for his good: To the glory of The Creator that will always have the righteous rise even yet again; regardless of how often he has fallen, or how low). Or would thou rather return back to the vomit that were thy words "poo," and "loo," and even the "stain" that thou continues to believe Ikoro Iyineleda can ever be to GOD? And hast thou then truly done thy worst, with the "artillery missiles" that thou sayest had "scores of them" "killed in the process?" That upon all thee and thine may continue to come all the righteous blood ever shed on earth - be it by the hand of thy five-nation force of seven thousand, five hundred men; or with the entirety of thy Multi-National Joint Task Force; or with the absolute worst that can be wielded by any of all the tribes of the earth. I am still waiting patiently. And thou continues to have none other than two options: Thou may begin to feel the remorse, to show the repentance, to undergo the renunciation, to carry out the restitution, and to favour the righteous cause for which The Ikoro has been dying ever since the blood spilt first of the righteous Abel. Or thou may continue to conceive with the most cunning, the worst that all the subtilty of all thy cowardice con can ever devise. - Ikoro Iyineleda. |
Politics › Re: Religion Against Humanity By Wole Soyinka by TheIkoro(m): 5:51pm On Feb 07, 2015 |
IleIfe2: To such a degree has Religion fueled conflict, complicated politics, retarded social development and impaired human relations across the world, that one is often tempted to propose that Religion is innately an enemy of Humanity, if not indeed of itself a crime against Humanity. Certainly it cannot be denied that Religion has proved again and again a spur, a motivator, and a justification for the commission of some of the most horrifying crimes against humanity, despite its fervent affirmations of peace. Let us however steer away from hyperbolic propositions and simply settle for this moderating moral imperative: that it is time that the world adopt a position that refuses to countenance Religion as an acceptable justification for, excuse or extenuation of - crimes against humanity.
While it should be mandatory that states justify their place as members of a world community by educating their citizens on the entitlement of religion to a place within society, and the obligations of mutual acceptance and respect, it should be deemed unacceptable that the world is held to ransom for the uneducated conduct of a few, and placed in a condition of fear, apprehension, leading to a culture of appeasement. There are critical issues of human well-being and survival that deserve the undivided attention of leaders all over the world. Let us recall that it is not anti-islamists who have lately desecrated and destroyed - and with such fiendish self-righteousness - the tombs of Moslem saints in Timbuktoo, most notoriously the mausoleum of the Imam Moussa al-Khadin, declared a world heritage under the protection of UNESCO and accorded pride of place in African patrimony . The orientation – backed by declarations - of these violators leaves us with a foreboding that the invaluable library treasures of Timbuktoo may be next.
The truth, alas, is that the science fiction archetype of the mad scientist who craves to dominate the world has been replaced by the mad cleric who can only conceive of the world in his own image, proudly flaunting Bond’s Double-0-7 credentials – Licensed to Kill. The sooner national leaders and genuine religious leaders understand this, and admit that no nation has any lack of its own dangerous loonies, be they known as Ansar-Dine of Mali, or Terry Jones of Florida, the earlier they will turn their attention to real issues truly deserving human priority. These cited clerics and their ilk are descendants of the ancient line of iconoclasts of Islamic, christian and other religious moulds who have destroyed the antecedent spirituality and divine emblems of the African peoples over centuries. Adherents of those African religions, who remain passionately attached to their beliefs, all the way across the Atlantic – in Brazil and across other parts of Latin America – have not taken to wreaking vengeance on their presumed violators in far off lands. These emulators are still at work on the continent, most devastatingly in Somalia, with my own nation Nigeria catching up with mind-boggling rapidity and intensity. Places of worship are primary targets, followed by institutes of education. Innocent humanity, eking out their miserable livelihood, are being blown to pieces, presumably to relieve them of their misery. Schools and school pupils are assailed in religion fueled orgies, measured, deliberate and deadly. The hands of the clock of progress and social development have been arrested, then reversed in widening swathes of the Nigerian landscape. As if the resources of the nation were not already stretched to breaking point, they must now also be diverted to anticipating the consequences – as in numerous nations around the world – that would predictably follow the cinematic obscenities of a new entrant into the ranks of religious denigrators, who turns out – irony of ironies - to have originated from the African continent.
In sensible families, while every possible effort is made to smooth the passage of children through life, children are taught to understand that life is not a seamless robe of many splendours, but prone to the possibility of being besmirched by the unexpected, and unpredictable. A solid core of confidence in one’s moral and spiritual choices is thus sufficient to withstand external assaults from sudden and hostile forces. That principle of personality development is every bit as essential as the education that inculcates respect for the belief systems and practices of others. The most intense ethical education, including severe social sanctions, has not eradicated material corruption, exploitation, child defilement and murders in society, not even deterrents such as capital punishment. How then can anyone presume that there shall be no violations of the ideal state of religious tolerance to which we all aspire, or demand that the world stand still, cover its head in sackcloth and ashes, grovel in self-abasement or else prepare itself for earthly pestilence for failure to anticipate the occasional penetration of their self ascribed carapace of inviolability.
It is time to demand a sense of proportion, and realism. Communication advance has made it possible for both good and evil to transcend boundaries virtually at the speed of light, and for the spores of hatred to travel just as fast, and as widely as the seeds of harmony. The world should not continue to acquiesce in the brutal culture of extremism that demands the impossible - control of the conduct of millions in their individual spheres, under different laws, usages, cultures and indeed – degrees of sanity.
What gives hope is the very special capacity of man for dialogue, and that arbiter is foreclosed, or endures interminable postponements as long as one side arrogates to itself the right to respond to a pebble thrown by an infantile hand in Papua New Guinea with attempts to demolish the Rock of Gibraltar. I use the word ‘infantile’ deliberately, because these alleged insults to religion are no different from the infantile scribble we encounter in public toilets, the product of infantilism and retarded development. We have learnt to ignore, and walk away from them. They should not be answered by equally infantile responses that are however incendiary and homicidal in dimension, and largely directed against the innocent, since the originating hand is usually, in any case, beyond reach. With the remorseless march of technology, we shall all be caught in a spiral of reprisals, tailored to wound, to draw virtual blood. The other side responds with real blood and gore, also clotting up the path to rational discourse. What we are witnesses to in recent times is that such proceeding is being accorded legitimacy on the grounds of religious sensibility. It is pathetic to demand what cannot be guaranteed. It is futile to attempt to rein in technology: the solution is to use that very technology to correct noxious conceptions in the minds of the perpetrators of abuse, and educate the ignorant. I speak as one from a nation whose normal diet of economic disparity, corruption, marginalization, ethnic and political cleavages has been further compounded by the ascendancy of religious jingoism. It is a lamentable retrogression from the nearly forgotten state of harmonious coexistence that I lived and enjoyed as a child. One takes consolation in the fact that some of us did not wait to sound warnings until the plague of religious extremism entered our borders. Our concerns began and were articulated as a concern for others, still at remote distances. Now that the largest black habitation on the globe has joined the club of religious terror under the portentous name, Boko Haram – which means ‘The Book is Taboo’ - we can morally demand help from others, but we only find them drowning in the rhetoric and rites of anger and/or contrition. Today it is the heritage and humanity of Timbuktoo. And tomorrow? The African continent must take back Mali – not later but - right now. The cost of further delay will be incalculable, and devastating. The spiral of reprisals now appears to have been launched, what with the recent news that a French editor has also entered the lists with a fresh album of offensive cartoons. To break that spiral, there must be dialogue of frank, mature minds. Instant, comprehensive solutions do not exist, only the arduous, painstaking path of dialogue, whose multi-textured demands are not beyond the innovative, as opposed to the emotive capacity, of cultured societies. So let that moving feast of regional dialogues – which was inaugurated by former President Khatami of Iran in these very chambers – be reinforced, emboldened, and even-handed. The destination should be a moratorium, but for this to be strong and enduring, it must be voluntary, based on a will to understanding and mental re-orientation, not on menace, self-righteous indictments and destructive emotionalism. Perhaps we may yet rescue Religion from its ultimate indictment: conscription into the ranks of provable enemies of Humanity.

http://www.unmultimedia.org/tv/unifeed/2012/09/un-culture-of-peace/ Re: "Religion Against Humanity by Wole Soyinka" by Ikoro Iyineleda A stitch in time would have saved all creation. A stitch in time would have had a human being that appealed to all humanity to be allowed to live life as a part of life, and run not the human race on crippled feet; be not annointed by GOD to break the shackles of hypocrisy that deny human beings that right for which he appealed - merely because he spoke up after forty years on earth, or after but twelve years, or even after up to twenty four years, or simply because he was not as fortunate as was Kunta Kinte to have had a father that had him set forth at dawn. A stitch in time would have had the most gross epitome of hypocrisy that has ever strutted its cruelty under the camouflage of religion heed the words, "I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men: SHE IS TO KEEP SILENT;" that the denial of those words may then justify in all its entirety that which is written of the shrew that, being Woman, it refused to tame into both silence and subjection: "And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: So is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of Nature; and it is set on the fire of Hell." That which, being written, denies an underestimation of "an unruly evil, full of deadly poison;" as no more than "a pebble thrown by an infantile hand in Papua New Guinea with attempts to demolish the Rock of Gibraltar." Because it is written of He that is infinitely greater than any that has ever called itself the Rock of Gibraltar: "Do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to The LORD, lest He break out against them." If those of whom it is written are The LORD's "portion" and His "alloted heritage" are not to come up to The LORD because of that possible eventuality that has been since the very beginning, "lest they die;" how much more those that approach Him obviously to provoke Him (even if only with "pebbles" hurled by "infantile" hands - be the "infantile" literal; or that of the Woman that has been accorded such an elevated position in society that she has not only proclaimed herself to be "the new man," but she has also seen herself to be "God" how much more will those that provoke Him (even if only with "pebbles" bring to pass the prophecy written of that which will be the course of Nature, when the hypocrisy of an adulterous generation refuses to tame the shrew that is Woman into subjection? "It shall be set on fire." He will break out against them - regardless of how infantile they may truly be, or claim to be. They will surely die. For even with the feeble attempts by which Humanity strives to live by the law, a delinquent infant is still required to face the wrath of the law - regardless of how subdued the wrath may be. And therefore, if we are "to ignore, and walk away from" "the products of infantilism and slow development" that are the "pebbles" known more pecisely as "blasphemy" in the world of Religion; then we should also, in the world of Humanity, "ignore, and walk away from" the juvenile delinquents such as those that continue to give the word "confraternity" that bad name of "cultism" and "gangsterism" in Nigerian universities. And considering the fact that that which is written of that which thou art supposed to have said once, O CB (in the edition of The Nigerian Guardian dated "Sunday May 14 - 17, 2008" concerning those juvenile delinquents, is: "When I hear that Wole Soyinka started secret cults, I always wish that thunder will descend and smite the mouths of those who say it." If thou would thunder "smite" merely because of that which others would term, "libel;" how much more will the Moslem in particular wish that even worse descend on those who make statements of libel against The Prophet they hold in such high esteem (had Christians today the same regard for The Christ, they would emulate him as religiously as Moslems emulate - on the average - Mohammed) and why then should Religion in general not have that which is even worse than worse descend on those who have evolved from the pits of libel into the dank depths of blasphemy: Be it as the wrath of The Allah that is seen as being so volatile that not only is Boko Haram made to be synonymous with "religious terror," but Islam also is made to be synonymous with "terrorism;" or be it as The LORD that the fool, the hypocrite, and the naïve that consists of the Christendom of this most evil and adulterous generation continues striving to have all believe is such a placid conformist that absolutely no one could have said unto Moses, "You speak to us, and we will hear; but let not GOD speak to us, lest we die" - the Christianity that continues striving to have all believe that absolutely none like Him before Whom they are to bow could have said, "Therefore will I also deal in fury: Mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity; and though they cry in Mine ears with a loud voice, yet I will not hear them." Hear, O Masculinism: The LORD our God, The LORD is GOD. And in the world of the Religion that brings about not only the recognition of Him that created not only Humanity itself, but the righteousness also by which thou seems to imply it should live - yet by laws that recognise not The Creator; "the equally infantile responses that are however incendiary and homicidal in dimension, and largely directed against the innocent" is thoroughly dwarfed by the wrath of He that is provoked by the "pebbles" thou believes can provoke only "equally infantile responses." He is "a consuming fire." And of the "innocent" that may be consumed by the fire? Like unto them is the nation of which it is written: "And The LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians." That despite the favour, it may then be written of that nation: "and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where one was not dead." For regardless of how "innocent" thou might believe thyself to be, should thou be on the other side of The LORD, thou art rendered guilty of all charges made by the one side. And thus a stitch in time would have saved the "blood and gore;" would have saved the spiral of reprisals that brought about the realisation of the war being - even in the sphere of Humanity's Politics - "religious;" may have brought about "the path to national discourse" that would have The Ikoro rather jaw-jaw than war-war; would have saved the denial of the sacrifice (if ever made) that would have had "the world stand still, cover its head in sackcloth and ashes, grovel in self-abasement or else prepare itself for earthly pestilence for failure to anticipate the occasional penetration of their self ascribed carapace of inviolability," - the sacrifice that would deny both the justice and the judgment due to which even Sons of The Most High will "die like men, and fall like any prince;" would have saved all creation from the ultimate end from which will be saved he only of whom it is written "endures to the end." The conclusion of the matter, and concerning both Humanity and Religion: Humanity is that which recognises the existence of not only "good and evil," not only wickedness and righteousness; but of the war also between good and evil, between wickedness and righteousness: And yet denies The LORD as justifiably as he that (in the world of secular Humanity, takes the law into his hand) is justified by the law. Religion is that which has the good wage war on evil, the righteous on wickedness, as "servants of GOD to execute His wrath on the wrongdoer." Thou may therefore make thy choice, O CB, between that which is justifiable, and that which is to be condemned; even should thou judge only by the feeble attempts of Humanity to live by laws that give no due recognition of the Religion that honours The Creator of Humanity. - Ikoro Iyineleda. HercJay: The DG of the National Orientation Agency & Coordinator of the National Information Center, Mike Omeri says intelligence reports gathered by Nigeria's security agencies show that Boko Haram members are planning to use bomb-ladened cows, goats and chicken to attack Nigerians at political campaign grounds, market places, and ATM locations.
Omeiri said this while speaking to newsmen on Tuesday January 27th in Abuja
"Available intelligence reports indicate a plan by Boko Haram to use young male suicide bombers disguised as cobblers (shoemakers) to hide explosives in their tool boxes and detonate them in soft target areas such as markets, restaurants, ATM locations, political rallies, worship centres, as well as other public places.
Also there is indication of a plan by this group to use livestock (such as goats, cows, donkeys and camels) laden with explosives to attack chosen targets. In view of these, the general public, including all persons operating within and around the aforementioned places, is advised to be vigilant and mindful of suspicious activities within their environment.” he said
He advised everyone to be watchful during this period and report any suspicious movement to the police.

Politics › Re: US Cautions Dokubo, Tompolo, Others Over Inflammatory Statements by TheIkoro(m): 5:32pm On Feb 06, 2015 |
Deeman87: The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has cautioned former militants of the Niger Delta, Alhaji Mujaheed Dokubo-Asari, Victor Ben Ebikabowei aka Boy Loaf, and Government Ekpemupolo, aka, Tompolo, over all the inflammatory statements that are being credited to them in the build up to the presidential election that is coming up next week Saturday.
The commission while making this warning in its latest report which its chairman, Dr. Katina Lantos Swett, made available to correspondents of the Department of State in Washington, DC during the week, added that such statements coming from the former militants who have been threatening wars if President Goodluck Jonathan loses the election, could lead to a religiously-motivated violence if proper measures are not taken by politicians and security agents in good time.
Reacting to the inflammatory statements that are being credited to the former militants, the USCRIF warned President Goodluck Jonathan and other candidates to prevent the looming electoral violence by calming their supporters as well as warning them against such statements.
USCIRF also called on all Nigeria’s political parties to hold responsible their members who are issuing statements inciting violence along religious lines. It also called on the Nigeria’s police and judiciary to impartially hold accountable all perpetrators of electoral violence.
The agency however hailed the decision of the United States to withhold visas to persons who engage in, plan, and/or perpetrate electoral violence in Nigeria, adding that such decision would send a strong message in support of peaceful elections in the country. It also maintained that every effort needed to be undertaken to ensure peaceful elections and prevent the use of religion to stir up more violence
Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council has condemned in the strongest terms the continued escalation of attacks perpetrated by Boko Haram terrorists, pointing to an attack on 1 February in Borno State, Nigeria and to increasing attacks in the Lake Chad Basin region, including, on 29 and 30 January, against Chadian forces deployed in Cameroon near the town of Fotokol, which killed four Chadian soldiers and injured 12 others.
In a statement issued to the press in New York, the 15 members extended their condolences and sympathies to the families of those killed and injured, and to the peoples and the Governments of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Chad.
Recalling their Presidential Statement of 19 January this year, Council members reiterated their deep concern that the activities of Boko Haram are undermining the peace and stability of the West and Central African region.
They urged the region to enhance regional military operations and coordination to more effectively and immediately combat Boko Haram. In that regard, they commended the Chadian army’s swift assistance in Cameroon, which resulted in neutralisation of 123 Boko Haram combatants and the capture of others.
Members of the 15-State body reaffirmed that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including the actions of Boko Haram, constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security, and that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whosoever committed.

Therefore, the vote I would I cast on the day of the day of the 2015 Oyo State gubernatorial elections is hereby cast on this page: For....
Senator Adewolu Rasheed Ladoja.
And I give two reasons for that decision (there may be even more reasons, there may be no more reasons: I do not know, GOD knows) these two reasons being:
(1) The job that I have today (which may not be truly a job; but is indeed enough of a job to put at least a meal in my mouth, every day) is as a consequence of an appointment I was given by GOD whilst Senator Rasheed Ladoja was governor in Oyo State.
(2) The righteousness that I can still recollect, with which Senator Rasheed Ladoja refused to accord security vote allocations to even an Inaki that may have been close enough to him to have been his godfather: This righteousness being that which dwarfs in comparison the feeble attempts of the incumbent governor of Oyo State (Senator Abiola Ajimobi) to behold, and know not that which is quite obviously the most grievous evil in all history - with the hypocrisy that offers sacrifices supposed to pacify, for the sake of peace, the soul of the aggrieved; rather than delivering the righteousness of justice and judgment.
Therefore, Senator Adewolu Rasheed Ladoja: Thou hast my vote. Even should the footballer kick viciously enough to deny a forty year old (boy? man? omo? football?) the right to vote.

XtraSmooth404: Last night I took a trip down memory lane. I couldn’t help but smile at my experience: the good, bad, ugly and dirty! I’m not much of a writer, but somehow I just wish I can pen down everything in details.
Last time I checked, it’s almost two (2) weeks to sum it up to year I had my POP. I decided to share a few reasons for prospective corps members who haven’t made up their minds about accommodation ish, and why you should consider staying in family house. Mind you, there are stringent rules to be obeyed, but then I kinda feel the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages for a corper relying on your allowee.
Coming from someone who stayed both in the family house and corper’s lodge for a reasonable length of time, I see the following reasons as advantages one can benefit from.
(1) SPIRITUAL GROWTH: For a graduate with Christian upbringing and who honestly wants to live a Christ-like life, the family house is the best place you can think of. Prayers and worship are usually not less than twice in a day.
(2) LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE: As a member of family house, you may be elected for various offices such as the President, Vice President, Secretary-General, PRO, Treasurer etc. You stand to gain a whole lot from such leadership pedestal. Such leadership positions can be written on your CV and the activities involved could be referenced during behavioural interviews. In addition, all the CLO during my service year were staying in the family house.
(3) FIRST-HAND INFORMATION: This is sequel to point (2) above. The CLO is a corps liaison officer. Information on clearance, POP date & venue, NYSC-related matters, etc passes from the CLO to the immediate occupants of the family house before it gets to the ‘Ordinary Corper’ in the same village/town.
(4) SAFETY: Family houses are safe to a reasonable extent. There are rules to be kept to ensure everyone’s safety.
(5) CULINARY AND HANDCRAFT SKILLS: This is where we know the potential wife materials, lol. There are ladies on the cooking roster that you just wish they could be made to cook every day! They cook so well that you can’t help but beg for more. On the other hand, there are names you see on duty and be like ‘’guy, make I reach Express chop, na Princess dey kitchen today o! The good thing is you will be made jest of, but in the long run, you must learn. Also, anyone who is eager to learn bead making, wire works, and all that ish is opportune to learn, most times for free!
(6) HAVEN FOR NURSING MOTHERS: There are willing corpers who would happily babysit your cute baby while you sleep, wash or go out.
(7) RELATIVELY CHEAP: With monthly subscription fee ranging from N4,000 to N6,000, depending on your location, you are guaranteed a decent two-square meal and a place to sleep. Just move in with your clothes, toiletries, laptop, etc. You need not bother about buying pots, stove, palm oil, and general foodstuff. Just subscribe and enjoy. You can get your personal provisions though.
( REFERRALS: Staying in family house means you’ll be present in church often and also join the youths in various activities. You get to be seen by people and trust me, you never can tell who’s WHO amongst the congregation.
(9) YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE: This is self-explanatory, wherever you wanna go, even if it’s just a casual stroll, there’s always someone interested in same thing. Just make sure if you are a guy, you don’t always hang out with a particular girl, cos everyone will assume you two are dating. Bottom line is wonderful friendship is established there. There are entertainment gadgets like TV, DVD, GoTV or games to add fun to your stay.
(10) POST-NYSC: You could always show up at the family house even after POP. Maybe you need a place to stay for that important interview or aptitude test, you don’t have to feel stranded. "Xtra" Smooth Criminal indeed. Thou may CONtinue to extra-smoothly CON the gullible and the fool with all the CONquest of thy CONceit. That thou may remain with absolutely neither the fear of GOD, nor any regard for His commandments; but rather with thy whole duty the worship of thy master, the root of all evil. - Ikoro Iyineleda. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Begging For Peace by TheIkoro(m): 3:34pm On Feb 03, 2015 |
FreshGreen: BEGGING FOR PEACE! Genesis 13:8, "So Abram said to Lot, “Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren."
To be a man or woman of peace, a peacemaker and to follow peace with all men, we need to do everything it takes just for peace. Sometimes, peace may not be bargained for, it may not be bought with anything or bossed; the only means may be to beg for it. Peace may not come, sometimes, by commanding, by proving rights, by claiming or by argument; we may need to humble ourselves and beg for it, irrespective of our ages, levels, positions or possessions.
Abraham was an elder brother to Lot's father, after the dead of Lot's father, he took Lot to help take care of him; but Abraham had to forget about everything and begged Lot for peace to reign. The begging goes beyond words of mouth but willingness to give anything for peace, to let go anything for the sake of peace.
Why would Abraham go that far because of peace with young Lot? It's because it goes beyond Lot; our interpersonal relationship with people reflects and determines our relationship with God. When we fail to make peace or live peaceably with people, then we cannot be at peace with God. To be at peace with God, we must be at peace with people, even with the unpeaceful people. Abraham would not allow anybody to spoil his personal relationship with God, so he was ready to be the last for him to be at peace with Lot. We have no excuse to fight or quarrel with people because the Prince of Peace is our Lord and Master.
“Please let there be no strife between you and me." Genesis 13:8 Abraham was older and richer than Lot, but he begged for peace; he could command or chase Lot away, but he knew that would not generate peace; he didn't want anything that would tarnish his garment of holiness, anything that Satan would use against him or that would displease God. That is the reason we must be careful to follow peace with ALL men - both peaceful men and unpeaceful men in our interpersonal relationship with our spouses, in-laws, family members, friends, strangers, co-workers, business partners, neighbors, church members, and others. Devil may try to use anybody at times to make us offend, to fight, to be angry, to be bitter, keep malice or say things we ought not to say; anybody can allow devil to use them, but we must be wise like Abraham.
Sometimes, people may behave so nauseating and too extreme, but the matter goes beyond the person in involved, our relationship with God is at stake. We should not allow people to spoil or tarnish our relationship with God. People who do not know where they are going will come with trouble, but we should calm things with peace of God in us; Christians or leaders who are careless to allow Satan to use them may come our ways, but we should be the restorers of peace to help shut down the devil's devices.
WISDOM OF PEACE Abraham said to Lot, "Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me. If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.” We need the wisdom of peace, and we should pray for it to deal with people peacefully. Sometimes, it may be to separate, to be silent, to seek counsel or third party intervention, to supplicate or simply let go. The Spirit leads as we are watchful.
WAYS OF PEACE Abraham said, "If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.” Peace is ready to forgo, peace is gentle, peace is ready to say "sorry" even when he is right, to admit blames when he does not deserves it, just for peace to reign.
May we be peacemakers in Jesus name!
Hebrews 12:14, 15 "14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled."

mumumugu: 1. You will believe in imaginary beings. And I don’t just mean one all powerful, all loving father figure in the sky who never does anything or helps anyone. You’ll believe in an evil tyrant who lives in a lake of fire and plots against you all day for no reason.
Prayer only accomplishes one thing. The Bible teaches that if you believe in Yahweh with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind then you’ll have the power to move mountains and be immune to poison. Basically you’ll have magical powers.
It teaches you to feel guilty about the wrong things.Humans are sexual creatures. In a sense, having sex is the most important thing you’ll ever do because it ensures the survival and evolution of the species. That’s why sex feels so good. Our bodies are designed that way, and if God designed us then God designed us that way. Sex is a biological commandment. Yet the Bible basically tells us that sex is evil and we should feel ashamed for wanting to have sex…much less having it with anyone except the one person we marry a
6. It teaches you not to accept responsibility for your actions. The Bible teaches that if you believe it then you’ll get to go to Heaven. In theological circles there’s some debate about whether or not good works are needed in addition to faith, but children don’t understand the Bible well enough or have the critical thinking skills to raise or explore that deep of a theological question. So as far as they (and most adults) are likely to be concerned, once you believe the story in the Bible you get to go Heaven.
7. It teaches you that your self-worth is based on believing in a story. The determining factor between what makes someone deserve to burn for eternity and what makes someone deserve paradise for eternity is believing in a story. Believing in a story doesn’t have anything to do with anything
7. 8. It teaches that everyone else is bad.The teachings in the Bible continue to rob you of an accurate perception of reality because it teaches that everyone who isn’t a Christian is a bad person…sobad in fact that they deserve to be tortured for all of eternity. Moreover, all the evil non-Christians asked for it; they chose to be separated from the light and embrace darkness and evil.
9. It teaches you that you’re a good person. The Bible teaches that if you take part in Christianity’s indoctrination rituals they will transform you into a higher form of life who deserves eternal peace and joy. The message of eternal salvation contradicts the Bible’s teachings on original sin, because even after you’re saved you’re still a sinner until you die.
10. The Bible teaches you that you’re a bad person. The Bible teaches you that we’re all sinners who deserve to burn in hell, and even our righteousness is like filthy rags to God. Why are we bad people? Because Adam’s rib-clone ate a magic apple given to her by a talking snake in the Garden of Evil.
Wise sloth There's a difference between The Word of GOD which is The Bible, and the covetuous Christianity of this most evil and adulterous generation. You may mark that difference, and make thy choice; or you may continue to deceive thyself. - Ikoro Iyineleda. |
Christianity Etc › Re: 4 Lies That Hinder God's Abundance by TheIkoro(m): 12:35pm On Feb 02, 2015 |
Babsopey: By Rachel Burchfield
Often people succumb to deceptions that prevent them from accepting God’s abundance for their lives. Here are four primary lies. Lie #1: God wants you poor. Why do people fight so hard to be poor? Instead of craving more to lavish on yourself, imagine how—if you had more—you could do more to help others. God’s covenant was to prosper His people so extravagantly that it would be a witness to the world. God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants (see Ps. 35:27). Lie #2: Prosperity is equivalent to monetary wealth. Financial surplus is only one part of God’s plan for abundance. Loving families, fulfilling relationships, vibrant health and purposeful lives are included in the abundant life Jesus described in John 10:10. Lie #3: You can’t afford to tithe. What a deceptive lie. In truth, you can’t afford not to tithe! The tithe isn’t yours to negotiate; it’s God’s and it is holy. The Israelites paid their tithe as a debt, but since Jesus paid our sin- debt on Calvary, we tithe as an offering of gratitude. People don’t argue over leaving a waiter a 15-percent tip at a restaurant; why, then, would we resent giving God a tithe? What does it say about our priorities if we honor Visa before God? Lie #4: All the church wants is your money. No, it doesn’t. It wants fruit added to your heavenly account. It wants to expose anything in your heart that will prevent God’s blessings from overtaking you—things such as selfishness, fear or greed. God’s financial plan requires obedience, gratitude and generosity. The truth is, generosity has nothing to do with finances. Generosity requires heart. It can be seen in a homeless man sharing his blanket or a grieving widow giving someone else a hug. You can give without loving, but you can’t love without giving. CON, hast thou not truly and ineed CONquered the fool and the naïve! - Ikoro Iyineleda. |

TheIkoro: Atheists and agnostics may not live a boring life; but not even they can speak ill of the golden rule of Masculinism, this being:
In every nation he that feareth GOD, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with Him.
For even the atheist and the agnostic, regardless of how little he knows of an omnipotent Creator, do know enough to have to say:
He that doeth good, and worketh righteousness, is accepted by all that is good and righteous - all; including the highest authority in the good, and the highest authority in the righteous. And regardless of whether thou calls that authority thy God,, or thy President, or the Secretary-General of the United Nations, or even thy father.
- Ikoro Iyineleda. To add a few more words to my response to your thread, joseph1013; that which I can deduce from thy "ranting" as thy reaction to a God that does not seem to satisfy thy convictions concerning that which is right, is similar to that which led me to the renunciation of Christianity - years ago. Like you revealed in your "rant," I also was born into that which I believed to be a Christian home. I grew up mostly with friends that had a similar background. However, just as you appear to have questions for GOD; I also had questions for - to use the words with which I still cry out unto my Creator, day and night - "the God of those I see as the followers of Christ." And, again, like you said you could not be angry with GOD; I also could not (and I can not) be angry with the Jesus I know from that which is written; for I know enough of the anguish that was his whilst he was on earth - be it on the cross that has me "despise the shame," and "bear the abuse he endured;" or as he that saith, "Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." However, the blatant hypocrisy in most of all I see today as "Christian" (which has absolutely nothing to do with that which is written, with that which should be said by the Christian) led to quite a number of the questions that eventually had me renounce the religion in search of a God that satisfies my own personal convictions concerning righteousness. And having done that years ago, I know enough of Him today to say unto thee that (even with absolutely no "convincing evidence of the Abrahamaic God" - or of any other being any other person has ever called, "God" if you do the right thing, and you fear the right authority - regardless of thy faith in GOD, or lack of it - you will be accepted by GOD. And that word, "right" (which leads to the righteousness that brings about the golden rule of Masculinism) is the reason I also have to add that, even as an atheist (or an agnostic, or whatsoever other title with which a lack of faith in GOD is labelled) "the right thing" entails giving others the right to be either justified, or condemned, by whatsoever authority they believe in. As an atheist, you still will be justified (or condemned) by the laws of thy land - which should give you the right to practise thy belief (or absence of it) in GOD. Yet, and even then, thou should leave all those that believe in GOD to be either justified or condemned by whatsoever authority it is with which GOD has chosen to reveal Himself to them. Thus (even as I still regard the Christianity of this age as nothing but a religion of CONdemned CONvicts building CONglomerations with all the CON they can CONceive; rather than suffering with him whom they claim to be their God - as they have been told to, should they really would that they be with him) I still say also unto the Christian of this generation, "Do not think that I shall accuse you to The Creator; it is Jesus who accuses you, on whom you set your hope." For, in the same way, that same Jesus sought that the Pharaoh Seers of his own generation (due to whom I say the Sir Do Sees) realise they would eventually be condemned by the very same authority on whom they placed their own hope. And one of the reasons I keep on crying "Woe!" unto the Christian with my word is that I would he see enough of The Ikoro (even as The Christ would of the serpents and the brood of vipers unto whom he saith, "How are you to escape being sentenced to Hell?" I would he see enough to have absolutely none of that excuse, "Behold, we knew it not." In a nutshell, joseph1013; be thou atheist, agnostic, or what-not; give unto the righteousness of Caesar that which is righteousness, and thou then hast seen enough of GOD to be accepted by Him - regardless of whether or not He decides to reveal Himself to thee in the hereafter only. - Ikoro Iyineleda. |

joseph1013: Hi friends, I don't even know if I can follow through with this and continue infinitely like I would love to do. I don't know. I only have a feeling that writing best captures what I have to say.
This page will be my questions and rant page.
I am not naive enough to expect that most who come to this page will abandon the faith they hold dear, but I do hope to convince my readers that many of us who walk away have not done so out of a rebellious, juvenile whim, but rather out of a careful weighing of the reasons for and against our former faith. Our decision, far from being "sad," as many of my friends and family perceive it, represents a move from unquestioning acceptance of tradition to a spirit of openness and adventure that pursues the evidence wherever it leads. We left in pursuit of truth.
A little about me: I grew up in a devoted Christian family loving the Lord. I was devoted and zealous. I was the 'dream' child. And because I was equally brilliant, parents pointed me as an example to their kids.
Of course as I grew up, I had questions. One of the earliest I remembered was asking how Cain had a wife if there were only thre people on earth (Abel having died). The answer my mum gave to that and many of the innocent questions of mine at a tender age was that I should make sure I get to heaven so that I could ask God myself. It didn't prove sufficient but what was a child to do otherwise.
I was a part of the school christian groups. I also remember being picked by the Children Church's teachers to preach to the entire Church congregation on Children sunday. It was awesome.
When I got to one of the foremost Federal Universities, I could not be more devoted. I was now into theological texts and got more than five translations of the Bible. I was a walking bible. Of course, there were no bible apps at that time. I consumed alot of religious materials, and read books by so many Christian authors. I also got into reading Islamic text, mainly so I could know what I was talking about when I encountered Muslim apologists, and I was very successful with them.
With time, I was made a Pastor of one of the most vibrant fellowships on Campus. We did not only study the Greek and Hebrew renditions, we know at heart copious parts of scriptures and could reel them out in our sleep. We were respected on Campus, at least by the Christian community. We would argue scriptures and ratte you with our knowledge of the redemptive work of Christ and the concept of the New Creature.
As an Engineering student, I spent 3 of my 5 years being a Pastor of this fellowship.
It was after my NYSC that I came across certain comments in books that made me look twice and search further to see if what I had believed and devoted my time to were indeed true.
I have been on this journey for a while now and I can say that I have come to a stage where I can sufficiently say that I am longer a Christian or a religionist. I do not conclusively deny the existence of God, but I can totally say that nobody has given me a convincing evidence for the existence of the Abrahamic God.
Some have told me that I am angry with God. That cannot be true, for you cannot get angry with something you are convinced does not exist in the context that I mentioned earlier. Some have said I believed wrongly, to these folks I say they know not what they sayeth.
I invite Christian readers to consider the possibility that my apostasy is a result not of divine or diabolical deception but of a simple weighing of the evidence ... It might be that I am wrong. It might be that I have not sought God sufficiently or studied the Bible thoroughly enough or listened carefully enough to the many Christians who have admonished me ... Maybe. But the knowledge that billions of seekers have lived and died, calling out to God for some definitive revelation without ever receiving it, or receiving revelation that conflicts with the revelation others have found, contributes to my suspicion that there is no personal God who reveals himself to anyone.
One of my primary reasons for having this page is self-serving: I do not relish knowing that others consider me to be on the road to eternal damnation if I don't repent, and I want to do what I can to change their perception of those of us who do not share their faith. Yet is this self-serving endeavor reckless? If I believed it would worsen the lives of all those who follow my rants and questions, then yes, it would be reckless. But I am convinced that life can actually improve for those who come to understand that our earthly existence is not simply a stage, a cosmic morality play, a precursor to an eternity to come. This life is the real (and only) deal.
Enjoy...
And hey, if you look at my Nairaland history, I do love Football alot and I'm an investment buff. I'm interested in Politics too (Sai Buhari!!!) and most of all, I love adventure. I love to travel and see new places. I'm also an eclectic reader. Who says atheists and agnostics have a boring life? Atheists and agnostics may not live a boring life; but not even they can speak ill of the golden rule of Masculinism, this being: In every nation he that feareth GOD, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with Him. For even the atheist and the agnostic, regardless of how little he knows of an omnipotent Creator, do know enough to have to say: He that doeth good, and worketh righteousness, is accepted by all that is good and righteous - all; including the highest authority in the good, and the highest authority in the righteous. And regardless of whether thou calls that authority thy God,, or thy President, or the Secretary-General of the United Nations, or even thy father. - Ikoro Iyineleda. |

TheIkoro: With absolutely all the grief that ever mourned, that still mourns, and that can ever mourn the blood by which Jesus was kicked off all the glory of Solomon whilst he was on earth; I do have to enjoin all those that truly would I believe they indeed follow The Christ (all these being mostly such as those that kicked Jesus off that glory of which I speak) to seek the city which is to come (this being all they would seek, were they truly following The Christ) that city which, being the Christian Heaven, is none other than the glory kicked off Jesus whilst he was on earth.

And even the Pharaoh Seers (due to whom I say the Sir Do Sees) do see well enough to know that which Jesus declared to be the glory of Solomon - the CONglomerations built (in their own case) by the hands of CONvicts with the hands of the CON through which they would the gullible and the fool be a CONvert of theirs; the CONglomerations that is the city which is to come, yet is in no hereafter. - Ikoro Iyineleda.
