President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his vacation indefinitely and will not return from the UK until he gets his medical test reports, his spokesman, Femi Adesina, said on Sunday. Buhari has communicated this in a letter to the national assembly, Adesina said. “President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the national assembly today, February 5, 2017, informing of his desire to extend his leave in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors,” Adesina said in a statement. “The president had planned to return to Abuja this evening, but was advised to complete the test cycle before returning. The notice has since been dispatched to the senate president, and speaker, house of representatives.

“Mr. President expresses his sincere gratitude to Nigerians for their concern, prayers and kind wishes.” Buhari left the country on January 19, after transmitting a letter to the national assembly, disclosing that he was going on a 10-day vacation during which he would undergo medical checkups. He told the lawmakers that he had handed over to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, who was in Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum, at the time. Osinbajo had to cut short his trip to take over the responsibilities. The rumour mill has been rife with reports that the president has died. TheCable had fact checked the fake news, and discovered it for what it was. Despite the findings, the rumours about Buhari continue to resurface every day. Not even the pictures of the president monitoring a Channels Television programme from his UK base, made “naysayers” back down.

The Lagos State Police Commissioner Fatai Owoseni has vowed to truncate the planned protest against the Federal Government slated for February 6 in the state. Popular musician, TuFace Idibia had announced to stage a nationwide protest in order to draw the attention of the relevant authorities to the sufferings of Nigerians under this administration. But Owoseni, who had earlier stated that there was no official request from the protesters notifying security agencies of their plan, said Wednesday that intelligence report indicated that criminals might hijack the process.

Addressing a press conference, the police chief said the command wasn’t ready for that kind of demonstration and as such would not allow it to hold. “Information reaching us revealed that some hoodlums are planning to hijack the peaceful protest. And as such, we won’t allow it to hold in Lagos. “We know that Tuface do not have the capacity to contain such a crowd and we will not fold our hands and watch while things go out of hand. “The Civil Society had said that they do not need police permission to carry out any peaceful protest, but they should also be aware that there might be those who share an opposing view.

This set of persons may want to disrupt the peaceful demonstration and would want to attack demonstrators. “This is why we advise individuals or group of persons who may wish to embark on civil demonstration to inform the police so that adequate security arrangement would be provided.”

BBNaija: Biggie wasted no time at all after Ebuka, K9, Flavour and Yemi Alade had sprinkled stardust over this season’s opening show. He and Gifty spent a lot of time in the kitchen flirting with each other and even singing to each other, although Uriel and Bisola also vied for his attention. Miyonse and TBoss, not to be left out also spent time making eyes to each other as did Kemen and Marvis. Marvis had spent some time earlier talking to herself in the garden. The House was abuzz with everybody talking over each other as each Housemate tried to make themselves heard as they all started to get to know each other.

They wasted no time in getting stuck into the alcohol with Marvis and ThinTallTony being the first to start drinking. Skin to fall off if touched : One of the joys of every parent is in being able to hold their new baby close. Sadly this cannot be the case for Kadyem, 22, and Kyera, 20, the first time parents of a baby born on December 28 with a rare incurable disease which makes his skin peel off when touched. Baby Kaheel Clark-Smith was diagnosed at birth with Epidermolyosis Bullosa (EB) after he was born with small blisters on his arm, but the doctors dismissed it as a mild case and sent him home, however, he had extreme breakout days later that resulted in blisters and the loss of 60% of his skin and that was when it was discovered that he has the worst case of the disease.

Kaheel's parents, who are unable to cuddle or kiss their baby, are raising funds to fly their son to a specialist EB centre in Ohio since the hospital where their son was born in Seattle, Washington has very little experience in handling such case. Khaleel's aunt, Brandi Smith, revealed the extent of the trauma these new parents and their child are having to deal with;

"This is their first child and they are so overwhelmed and broken. We found out the day he was born and didn't know anything about it. We had to do all the research at home," She said.

"We found out this was the 'worst disease you've never heard of' and we were so heartbroken. Even a cuddle or a kiss can cause his skin to blister. The doctors gave us false hope because he was eating and all his vital signs were fine. Then he had a bad breakout and he was admitted to NICU on Jan 4th.

"We just got back the results from the biopsies and have been told it's the worst type of EB."

Brandi started a GoFundMe page to help raise $30,000 for the medical flight to get the baby to the care of experts in Ohio and also for the expensive special clothing and bandage needed to wrap Khaleel.

French-ISIS terrorist: One of France’s most-wanted terrorist, who was a former choir boy, has turned himself over to the police. 24-year-old Kevin G, who was a Chief headhunter for Islamic State, handed himself over, claiming that he has been reformed. Kevin converted to Islam a decade ago and is believed to have been in charge of getting young French people to sign up to terrorism in Syria and Iraq.

He spent four years in Syria before leaving with his four French wives and their six children for Turkey last year. His wives were arrested and sent back to France. Backlisted by the United Nations back in 2014 as a wanted terrorist, Kevin has now been charged with financing terrorism and recruiting jihadis for both al-Qaeda and Islamic State. He claims to have turned his back on terrorism and walked away from ISIS because he feared being killed. Although his case is being handled by the Paris prosecutor, officials must now determine whether he has genuinely reformed or whether it was a deliberate ploy to return to Europe as part of a sleeper cell.

He works as a Statistician but has plans to start his own digital content creation company. He says he’s doing this because he doesn’t like stagnancy and enjoys rebelling and challenging himself. He adds that it’s one of the reasons why he’s living on his own in Lagos with the rest of his family in Abuja. He has four siblings and doesn’t really consider himself that important since he’s the middle child. He credits this is as being one of the reasons he’s so chilled and easy going. Wizkid's baby mama, Sola has revealed that she passed through a lot after finding out she was pregnant with the singer's child. Sola Ogudugu shared her experience on discovering that she was pregnant. In a chat with YNaija, she talked about the ordeal she passed through after Wizkid disvir-gined and impreg-nated her at 19. Sola said she only found out after it the pregnancy had reached 5 months. She said:


“I remember the day I found out I was preggers! After 5 monthsss… Damn!!! I can’t believe I’m laughing now. I cried for the remaining 4 months… I just kept saying to myself everyday ‘God why me’ Ahhhhh mahn… Those Were Trying Times Yo! It was like film trick…”


The single mother of one further stressed that, being a mother is not an easy job, talk more of being a single mother at the age of 19 years.

Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh is in the news again and for her sake we hope it’s false. Word got out that her 17-month old marriage to hubby and philanthropist Oladunni Churchill is in trouble. There were reports online today that there was allegedly another woman in the mix…but many didn’t take the report seriously until Tonto removed her husband’s name, Churchill from her IG handle, fueling speculations that their marriage is indeed is in crisis.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has sanctioned the arrest of Pretty Mike over allegations of dehumanizing women. 30-year-old club owner, Mike Eze-Nwalie Nwogu popularly known as ‘Pretty Mike’, has been arrested for ‘dehumanizing’ young girls by turning them into human puppies with chains round their necks. He was arrested on Wednesday by the police on the orders of the Lagos State Government. Nwogu was said to be cooperating with investigation and had given useful statement to the police and was released after signing an undertaking to desist from the act.

The undertaking read in part: “I, Mike Eze Nwalie, A.K.A Pretty Mike of 21A Magodo GRA, Luma Street, do hereby undertake to stop whatever act of putting girls on a leash or any other degrading treatment to ladies and guys. “I am aware that such act offends the law of the State of Lagos and if I repeat it again, there will be legal act towards me. I undertake to issue a letter of apology to the public effective from tomorrow on all my social media platforms.”

Speaking on the matter, the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem said the State Government will not tolerate any anti-social behavior that attempt to dehumanize any citizen in the State. Kazeem restated the government’s determination to prosecute any individual or group of persons who violate any law of the State under any guise. “The Lagos State Government is committed to the protection of the rights of all citizens including children, women and all the vulnerable persons in the State,” Kazeem said.

Things to do after NYSC : NYSC (National Youth Service Corp) as we all know, is a platform where graduates from different tertiary institutions come together for a year in various states to serve their father’s land. To some, it is an interesting phenomenon while to others it’s like hell in a packaged form. This article is not based on NYSC but on what happens after NYSC.


Some have finished their service year, while others will soon be through and then move on to the next phase of life. This means no more alert from Federal Pocket, PPA (Place of Primary Assignment) or the State Government, like it or not, this is a pure fact. But those that are extremely very lucky or those that are vigilant of the present economic trend in Nigeria will strive to success.

Those that will earnestly search for knowledge and opportunities will also succeed, those that know the dig dong search strategies will eventually find opportunities, those that are ambitious will find a lucrative business to do and those that are lazy will stay at home to realize when they are old . So which category will you belong to after your service year? Many Nigerian graduates still sit back at home or some even tend to join the labour market movement filled with millions of graduates who are also looking for the so called “White collar Job” which in turn is tantamount to unemployment among Nigerian youths.

Recently, out of the 13,000 applications received by Dangote group of companies for graduates executive truck drivers, there were 6 PhD. holders, 704 MSC and over 8,460 BSc holders, even though the company only needed 100 drivers, almost 13,000 were received mostly from graduates of reputable universities. More so, according to the federal ministry of labor and productivity, it was stated that the mandatory NYSC, more than 41% of Nigerian graduates are without employment. The Bureau for Statistics added that over 50% of youths in Nigeria are jobless, while the world bank puts the figure at 56% considering the country’s estimated population of about 167 million and 60 million jobless , these figures are alarming and poses a great threat to the economic growth and development of a Nation with the highest concentration of black people on earth.

To avoid being on the negative side of Nigeria situation after service year, there are some things you need to keep your self doing, which brings about the question, What next after service year?

1. Develop Yourself

For the first few months after service, most will remain very idle and will have nothing doing. These first few months can be used in personal development of one’s self. Mentally, Physically, and in all ramification. Pick a skill and learn more about it, Pick up the books you have been procrastinating to read and read up. There are various books out there that can be used to develop yourself. From inspirational to spiritual to business and lots more. If already you have what you good at, you can as well develop on it.



2. Learn A Trade

Sounds awkward to the ears of someone that just finished service, right? As for me, it doesn’t. Learning a trade after NYSC does not deprive you of your integrity or speaks less of you. If you check the background of some of the top rice people in your locality or Nigeria at large, you will find out that they were into trade before they started making millions out of it. Learning a trade is not something to look down on, but an avenue to increase financially. It may be tiring and discouraging for some while after you start, but like the saying “Good things don’t come easily”, so while learning a trade also learn to also have an enduring spiritual.



3. Create A Good Business Plan And Execute

Start up that dream business you have been nursing for long. Ben (surname withheld) did his service at NNPC towers Abuja, a very good place if you must ask me, a lot of connections and opportunities. Every month he got his “alawee” as popularly called amongst corp members, he bought clothes and shoes bags and fancy wrist watches just because he believed he needed to impress the other workers. Wrong motive I say because today he’s going through fasting and prayer just to get a job. While Daniel (Surname Withheld ) did his at a certain Ondo company, not well known and he even had issues with some months payments, but he saved up half of his allowance monthly and now he has his own functioning business. The difference between Ben and Daniel is that Daniel had a good plan laid down and a way of saving up to finance that plan from the general #19,800 all corp members receive monthly which he used to execute his plan.



4. Further Your Education

To those of you who are the career driven types, you can decide to further your education by getting MSC (Masters) in the field of your choice. Search through accredited institutions before applying for your master’s program. Some will say no money to fund them. Common! there are lots of scholarship programs out there, if not full then half, you can just Google search through, apply and you might be lucky. It is okay to do your master’s degree program, but get this straight, if your sole purpose for doing masters is to get a high paying job, then you are heading for a shocker ‘cos guess what’? there are so many people with masters who are yet to get a job, talk less of good ones. So get certified in what you love and compliment it with something.
