All the professionals in the house, I need your help. I once complained about my generator making a cracking sound while in operation. It wasn't like that initially, started suddenly. Called someone to check it but he didn't seem to know where the problem was coming from. The generator is working quite alright, I'm not just comfortable with the cracking sound it sometimes make when it's running. Any idea what the problem might be? I've also changed the oil. It's a 3.75kva Thermocool generator and I use strictly mobil oil. Got it towards the end of January 2023. I can send an audio if need be.

My Thermocool gen(3.75kva) while working, jerks as if fuel wants to finish. Then sometimes makes a sort of cracking sound from the engine and I have to turn it off.

It's not an oil issue cos I changed the oil not too long ago.

What could be the problem?

Cos once that noise starts, I have to put if off.

Dear house pls I need your advice .my generator had AVR issue during changing he told me my coil had burnt that water entered inside.The repairer asked for coil rewinding. He later told me the gen caught fire during teat running. After some weeks I went back and discovered he had sold my coil and starter. I was mad. He promised to replace it. Now he wants to use another model gen coil for my generator. My generator is sumec spg 3000. The coil he wants to fix is on strange name like Gesco generator. The coil is 3.5kva coil. He's insisting it will fit in and work well.
Pls house or experts in the house how true is this. Can it work perfectly?

Changed my AVR in December cause it was supplying high current. The process of changing it was not complex, I watched the guy do it. Just opened that part of the generator, disconnected the old one and connected the new one. It's like a plug. So how does that burn the coil? Seems the technician sold your coil to someone who was ready to pay alot for it. Coil is the most important part of a generator. Since you claim he sold your coil and starter, it's best he gets you a new generator.

The electric start stopped working. A few times, when I press it repeatedly, it picks. Would changing the battery solve the issue? The rope works with just one pull. Only having issue with the electric start

By fishing in the wrong place I mean you are trying to sell to people who are not in need of your product or service.

One thing people sometimes fail to realise is this, "you can't sell to everybody" and "everybody is not your potential customer".

You have to narrow down your business and marketing strategy to those who actually need your product or service.

This is another reason why people spend money on ads and still get no reasonable result. You must get your target audience right.

Yes, you have to deliberately look for those who are seriously in need of the product or service you are offering.

The keyword here is need. People will always pay attention to their needs.

So the key to becoming a successful business man/woman is placing your products, service and offers in front of a starving crowd who will have no other choice than to buy what you are offering

So what defines a starving crowd?

In simple terms, people who have the hunger for something.

So let's say you have weight loss products, you don't go about placing it in front of everyone because not everyone is trying to loose weight.

Rather, you target people with excess weight and show them your product.

It is difficult for people not to buy what they need.

When I started affiliate marketing, some people discouraged me against it.

They tried to push the usual excuses they make for them selves on me but I was determined.

I have always been the kind of person that will rather try and fail, than not try at all.

In my opinion, this is the approach most successful people have towards life. They are not scared to take risks.

I'd love to say that the journey has been beautiful so far. Money can't buy everything I have learnt.

I've learnt so much that even If I was to run a physical business today, I'd do it better than I would have done it before I Iearnt affiliate marketing.

The world has gone digital, so many things are happening in the online space.

Sometimes I can't help but wonder what the online space will look like five years from now.

We are in an era that getting an online skill is of utmost importance.

By value, I mean providing helpful solutions to the problems being faced by people.

When people see you as a problem solver and not just someone who is trying to make sales, they will buy from you.

A typical example is this:

Your computer system has a virus. You have tried so many antivirus programs to get the virus eliminated from your computer but none of them have worked.

Let's say...

I approach you with an antivirus program I am selling that can eliminate the virus from your computer.

You purchase it and use it to eliminate the virus.

Your problem is solved.

You are happy and I am happy

Below are five (5) mistakes entrepreneurs make in marketing:

1. Marketing To The Wrong People:

Most business market to the wrong people. When marketing fails, they blame it on something else e.g Not nig enough, didn't get the messaging right, didn't advertise in the right magazine.

The problem is most advertising is not directed at any particular person/group. It is directed to everyone rather than narrowing it down to WHO your target audience should be.

When you focus on a specific WHO, you are able to know what makes the person tick.

You are able to adjust your offers and your messaging in a way that perfectly matches their desires and ability to fulfil their desires.

Knowing the WHO enables you craft a compelling, emotional message that reaches deep into their Hope's, dreams, fears and pain.

2. Saying The Wrong Things:

Your marketing has to say the right things to the right person.

When you say something that fails to connect with your target customer, it is called a failed "Message to market match"

Another key mistake in this category is the language used.

You must use the language that your WHO will understand.

3. Thinking You Can Advertise Anywhere and Everywhere

Know the whom to which your are selling. This makes it easy to choose which media channels to advertise in.

You go where they go

If they are on facebook, you go on facebook

If they read punch news papers, you advertise on punch newspapers.

What you sell inside Punch newspaper doesn't have to relate to news, it just needs to appeal to the kind of persons who read it.

You want to only be where your who is

4. Chasing Clients

Lots of business men/women have the wrong perception that you must chase customers.

While this may make sense to you, I'd love you to imagine your reaction when you are being pursued by someone.

You will run away right?

Now this is what your prospective customers will do if you chase them.

No matter what you do, they will constantly avoid you

Rather than chasing, start attracting. Get them to come to you and indicate interest.

Offering something of value for free, in order to gain their attention sets you aside from competitors

When you stop chasing, you no longer have to resort to gimmicks to set yourself apart from the pack of hungry competitors running alongside you because you are attracting them.

When you use attraction, this allows you to charge and collect premium fees.

People pay more for a solution that they’ve already at least partially embraced or asked for

Attraction brings to you clients who are more committed and likely to remain with you over the long term

5. No follow Up

Most people fail to follow up with their potential customers.

They miss the ONE thing that could make or break their business.

They put zero effort into doing everything they could, to ensure the return of a customer

No capture of name, address, or even even email.

When you follow up your customers or potential customers, you will be able to generate sales and retain your existing customers.

So let us continue from where we stopped

1. What specifically do you do that’s truly different compared to competitors?

During my time at the University, I was opportuned to take some courses in Economics and one of the things we were thought was product differentiation.

This is simply the process of distinguishing a product or service from others, to make it more appealing to a specific target market.

You have to figure out what you do that is different from competitors.

You must ensure that your product/service is unique in its own way

Sell the uniqueness of your product or service

2. How do you uniquely benefit your target market?

You have to create a unique benefit for your target market.

Your potential customers have to gain something from your product or service that they will not gain elsewhere. Simple!!!

If you can successfully do this, you will give your product or service a unique selling Proposition.

3. Can you niche your target market in a way nobody else can or will?

This here is another very important question.

To niche your target market simply means to focus in a segment within your target audience where you will spend the most time marketing your product or service

Being able to niche your target market in a way nobody else can will have you creating a unique selling proposition.

Creating your usp is one of the greatest marketing weapons you can ever have for your product(s) or your business.

I want you to understand, whatever product or service you are offering is not your
business.

You must make yourself the go-to person, place, or entity for some audience that can be interested in you and your product/service

And the primary way to accomplish this is by crafting an answer to this question:

“Why should you be chosen amongst every other provider of the same product or service that you provide?”

Resolved with what legendary ad man Rosser Reeves called a USP, a Unique Selling Proposition.

Awesome turnarounds in business have taken place as a result of great USPs.

Domino’s Pizza was originally driven by a marketing message which everybody came to know, “Fresh hot pizza delivered in thirty minutes or less, guaranteed.”

If you analyse it, you’ll see some interesting things. First of all, it doesn’t claim to be all things to all people.

There’s no mention of a special recipe or sauce. There’s not even any mention of good pizza. All it says is that it is going to get to you while it’s still hot and it’s still fresh and that they guarantee to do that.

What is your USP?

This is going to take a little bit of work. Somewhere in your business, there is a good answer. If not, you need to make one.

Unfortunately, the first thing one does when we start to talk about Unique Selling Proposition is to jump to the conclusion that there is nothing special about your business.

Sometimes in rare instances, that’s true.

That’s when you have to do some creative thinking about your business to make it into something unique.

There are three questions you can ask yourself to begin the process of finding or creating your USP.

Today I'd be addressing one mindset faced by most people engaged in marketing and Selling...

and that is the mindset of "having a good product is all you need to make sales".

Now don't get me wrong, having a good product is good, infact it is awesome but having a great offer accompanying the product/service you are offering is even more excellent.

If you know me well, you'd realise I'm a very practical person, so I will love to illustrate this with an example.

Lets take a look at mobile networks:

Mtn And Airtel have a strong network in your area of residence but mtn offers 3 gig for the sum of 3000 naira and Airtel offers the same 3 gig for 2500 naira.

My question is this;

On which network will you purchase data?

Considering the fact that you own and use sim cards of both mobile networks and the network coverage from both service providers is great.

I'm certain you'd go with Airtel

The reason is simple, why pay more for a product/service when you can pay less?

Now this is the beauty of creating offers

It helps you compete effectively and also helps you drive sales.

Your porential customers will always go for what is of benefit to them

The secret is simple...

Instead of selling your products/Service, create an offer around that product and sell it.

This is why you should learn how to create seductive offers

When this is properly implemented, you will never struggle to make sales.

After starting up a business, what next ?

I have observed a general attitude with most business owners, both online and offline entrepreneurs.

All they do is start up their business and try to put the business out there. Then when they start generating income, they feel they have arrived.

It is pertinent to mention that operating a sustainable business is worth more than that.

You can't just start earning and think that is the end of the world.

No matter how much you are making, you forget that there is always room for growth.

Now when you start earning from your business, what should you do?

1. Set aside a percentage of your income for savings

2. Set aside a percentage of your income and pay yourself

3. Set aside a percentage of your income for marketing/advertisement

I would love to emphasise on point number 3

People won't patronise you if they don't know you or the products/services you are offering

There is the need for you to constantly put yourself out there, show up in the faces of people as much as you can, everyday, everytime, every second. Marketing is never too much

If you feel you have 1,000 customers, I want you to know you can have 10,000 customers and if you have 10,000 customers, you can have 1,000,000 customers

This is the strategy employed by most successful brands like Jumia and MTN.

What is Attraction Marketing?

When walking through a supermarket, you may come across stores where food is offered for free tasting, such as sausage.

You're invited to try some of their sausage.

You notice how nice it tastes and want to take some home with you.

Now you enquire from an employee at the store, who directs you to the location where it is sold.

You select a package and make a purchase.

Let's imagine you're on a budget and don't want to buy anything else right now.

You walk out of the supermarket without making the purchase. Your child approaches you a few days later, demanding for sausage.

You recall the sausage you tasted at the supermarket.

You return to the supermarket to make a purchase.

Attraction Marketing is when customers are enticed to buy something without being told to.

It's primary aim is to show customers the value of the products you are offering.

You do not sell the products to them.

You simply show them how great the products are

The consumer now develops the need to buy it and asks you where he can purchase it.

The solution is to go to the hospital.

Personally when I notice any little change in my body, I go to the hospital.

It may be scary but it's actually the best thing to do.

If you go to a hospital. They will most likely ask you to run some tests.

He has a wrong mentality towards life.

Beating him also doesn't solve his rude attitude towards your eldest brother.

Your mum should make him see reasons why his actions are wrong and make him understand that he is not competing with any of his siblings.
