When Nigeria was not as rotten and as depressing as it has become today. One could still boast of close to 20hrs electricity supply, fuel price then was negligible and the exchange rate was not changing as the second is ticking by. I may say I miss Nigeria of those days. At least you could still find normal people everywhere. Only God knows what happened to make it the shithole it has become today. The series was the star of those days and we would always look up to seeing another episode the next Sunday.

I do not know why the federal government will not decentralize the national grid to allow states that can generate and supply power for themselves to do so Everything is too over centralized in this country and this in turn leads to stunted development. Allowing these states will in turn free up the national grid and allow states that cannot do so to have more electricity supply. Our leaders do not think well in this country. They keep doing the same things expecting a different result. I cannot believe its 20 years ago that the Obasanjo administration promised Nigerians that by Dec 2001 we will be having 24hrs electricity supply and after all these years nothing has changed and I begin to wonder what is really wrong with this country.

How can you arrest a person and lock them up for 20 days with no charge? Are we in a democracy or military rule? In a civilised country, you arrest a person when you have evidence they have committed a crime. In a backward country like Nigeria, DSS arrests you to find out if you have committed a crime. This is absolute madness.

Arrest should be the end process of evidence gathering. In Nigeria, arrest is the start of evidence gathering.
