PDP Presidential Aspirant, Atiku Abubakar has attacked Nigeria's minister of Information branding him the "High Priest of the APC cult of Fake News".
Atiku accused Mohammed of dishonesty about a statement he made in an article published in an online news medium titled; ‘2019: International media query emergence of Atiku over suspicious source of wealth’.

Below is a statement from Atiku's camp made available to PoliticsNGR, addressing the comment;

"The attention of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation has been drawn to a sponsored news story on Vanguard newspapers of Saturday, October 20, 2018, with the headline ‘2019: International media query emergence of Atiku over suspicious source of wealth’.

In the said report, not one international media was quoted. Rather, it was the notoriously dishonest All Progressives Congress minister of information, Lai Mohammed, who was quoted alleging that that was what the international media told him.

Quoting the said story, Vanguard reported as follows:

“The minister said: “One curious issue that kept occurring was that anytime I spoke about how we have waged war against corruption, the journalists kept asking me a question. “They asked me: How can you claim to have succeeded in waging war against corruption, when one of the major contestants in the 2019 general elections is actually a man with stupendous wealth but cannot explain the source of his wealth?”

How anyone would take the word of a confirmed liar, as Lai Mohammed, for the Gospel truth is beyond us.

To show you how unreliable Lai Mohammed is, at the lecture in the Royal Institute for International Affairs (Chatham House) with the topic, “Nigeria’s National Unity: Towards Participation and Shared Values”, which was his main reason for going to London, Lai Mohammed said: “we do not need to do anything extra because we have delivered on all our promises and Nigerians are quite happy and satisfied with the government”.

How the minister of information of a government that has turned Nigeria into the world headquarters for extreme poverty can say that is beyond imagination. Is Mr. Mohammed claiming that his party promised and delivered poverty and Nigerians are satisfied with this world record poverty?

If Lai Mohammed can lie openly at Chatham House in front of the international press and diplomatic corps, is it a big thing for him to lie about his accounts with the international media?

The true position of things is that ever since the emergence of His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party after the elective congress of the party on October 6-7, the international media has been agog with praise for Mr. Abubakar and hope for a new dawn in Nigeria.

Reuters praised Atiku as having “long enjoyed support from the business elite in Nigeria's commercial capital Lagos for his conservative-capitalist ideals”. They went on to further give him kudos for his record in office by saying “as vice president in a PDP administration from 1999-2007, (he) implemented a programme of liberalisation in areas including the telecoms sector.”

The number one policy magazine in the world, The Economist, described His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, “as a business-friendly candidate who will get Nigeria’s economy going.”

Not one single international paper, magazine, TV station or website has had anything negative to say about the Waziri Adamawa’s emergence. That lie only exists in the fallacious imagination of Lai Mohammed.

On the contrary, international media and even reputable global financial institutions have predicted doom for Nigeria should Muhammadu Buhari be re-elected.

According to one of the world’s largest banks, HSBC, “a second term for Mr Buhari however raises the risk of limited economic progress and further fiscal deterioration, prolonging the stagnation of his first term, particularly if there is no move towards completing reform of the exchange rate system or fiscal adjustments that diversify government revenues away from oil.”

On its own part, The Economist wrote off the Buhari administration as a failure, saying “The 2019 elections will be a close contest between the ruling APC and the PDP. We expect the PDP presidential candidate to win.”

Nigerians can no longer be hoodwinked by the Orwellian propaganda that is the signature of this administration.

The 2019 presidential election will be determined by Nigerian voters and not by political soothsayers. Nigerians will make a determination whether to settle for incompetence versus competence; cluelessness versus knowhow; joblessness versus employment; restiveness versus engagement; divisiveness versus unity; nepotism versus merit and bigotry versus inclusiveness.

The Chairman of Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State, Mrs. Comfort Alhassan, has advised officers of Nigeria Air Force on Quick Response Mission in the council area to avoid illicit relationship with village girls or face the wrath of gods.

Alhassan told the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Agatu during the activation of the 21 Quick Response Wing of NAF in Agatu that any illicit sexual relationship with the girls would spell doom for the soldiers.


NAN reports that the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, was in Agatu to activate the 21 Quick Response Wing of the NAF situated in the local government to deal with cases of insurgency in the area.

NAN reports that in 2016, the entire the local government area was sacked by herdsmen who forced their way into the place, displaced farmers and set houses ablaze.

The chairman said the advice was imperative owing to the fact that ” your body is not wood, but I advise you not to get swelled by your emotions, if you are in love with them, notify their parents of your intentions, but avoid illicit sex with them”.


She, however, commended the Federal Government for situating the quick response wing of the Air force to her local government council, saying, ” now we can sleep with our two eyes closed”.

She promised to support the soldiers by providing their food needs, adding that “whatever their needs, they should ask of us”.

Alhassan also commended the Federal Government for drilling a borehole within the vicinity of the military facility to supply water to the host community and assured that the facility would be protected.

It’s obvious that all world religions are the product of extremely ignorant (not stupid) near barbarians who didn’t understand much about the world around them and made up stories to explain things the best they could. 5. It’s obvious that every single bit of proposed “evidence” for the existence of God has either been totally debunked or can be explained through other means. And it is obvious that any justification for believing in God is part of an ever-shrinking “god of the gaps” argument.

6. It’s obvious that the Holy scriptures that supposedly provide the only source for knowledge about God are riddled with internal inconsistencies and blatantly wrong information about the world and world history.

7. It’s obvious that every depiction of God that is actually worshiped by anybody is riddled with logical inconsistencies. How can God be all-powerful, all-knowing and all-loving if he permits massive suffering throughout the entire universe (and not just suffering caused by man’s free will)? Why would an all-loving God set up a system whereby the vast, vast majority of his children would never get a chance to hear the “truth” and be saved, and thus be condemned to an eternity of torture? How can God simultaneously be immaterial and timeless (“pure mind”) and still interact with the material world?

8. It’s obvious that things like “God moves in mysterious ways” and “God always answers prayers, but sometimes the answer is no” are just lame excuses to explain why God rarely (if ever) keeps his supposed promise to actually GIVE the faithful what they ask for in faith (not just “answer their prayers”).

9. It’s obvious that “God” is just Santa Claus for adults. Believing in Him may give you comfort in times of trouble and give you something to look forward to, but that doesn’t mean He is real.

10.And, to top it off, after thousands and thousands of years, no believer has ever offered a shred of compelling evidence or any sound logical argument to support a belief in such a being. Although, to be absolutely honest, the entire notion of “God” is so insanely ridiculous and childish and obviously the product of ignorant superstitions in the first place that it’s hard to even imagine what sort of “evidence” or “argument” would actually be sufficient to support a belief in such a being.

The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Owojela’s Blog can authoritatively report.


His decision comes few days after the national body of the APC submitted the name of Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s political adviser, Uba Sani, as the candidate for that senatorial district.

Mr Sani made his resignation known in a letter to the party chairman of the APC in ward 6, Tudun wada north, Kaduna.

He confirmed the letter and its content to the Media on Saturday afternoon.

The letter reads, “I present to you my highest compliments and wish by this communication to formally offer to you my resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
