The Department of State Services (DSS) on Tuesday paraded “seven associates” of Australian Stephen Davis as Boko Haram impostors. The paraded suspects were Junaid Idrissa Khadi, an aide of Kashim Shettima, governor of Borno state; Abubakar Yusuf; Saleh Alhaji Ibrahim; Abdullah Saleh; Nurudeen Ibrahim; Mubarak Adamu and Mustapha Maidugu. Speaking at a media briefing in Abuja, Marilyn Ogar, spokesperson of the DSS, said the suspects were arrested following investigations into the allegations of Davis against Ali Modu Sherrif, former Borno state governor; and Azubuike Ihejirika, erstwhile chief of army staff.
Davis had named Sherrif and Ihejirika as sponsors of Boko Haram. “Recall that on August 29, 2014, one Stephen Davis, an Australian self-styled negotiator for Boko Haram had alleged that Ali Modu Sherrif and Azubuike Ihejirika were among the chief sponsors of the Boko Haram sect,” Ogar said. “Based on the allegation, this service initiated an in-depth investigation into the matter. Consequently, seven associates of Davis were arrested and it has been established that they are part of well-orchestrated plan to spread falsehood, undermine and discredit efforts of the government to end terrorism.”
According to Ogar, Khadi, a 45-year-old Kanuri man from Borno state confessed that he had known Davis since 2006. “He confessed that he introduced one Aisha Wakil to Davis as a credible link to top members of the Boko Haram sect,” she said. “That he and one general Ashafa went with Davis on a journey to a remote part of Marte local government, Borno state, on a false mission to rescue the abducted Chibok school girls. “That he deliberately conspired to blackmail and implicate Ali Modu Sherrif, former governor of Borno state and one Mala Othman, former state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as sponsors of the Boko Haram sect. This he said he did by mounting pressure on the fake Boko Haram commanders, particularly Abubakar Yusuf to affirm that Sherrif was indeed a sponsor.
A claim that would give weight to their own scam and compel the federal government to negotiate with the fraudulent group. However, when the attempt failed, he sold the idea directly to Davis. “That Davis single-handedly conjured the indictment on Ihejirika based on allegations that the military under the former chief of army staff was responsible for the several failed attempts by Davis to make contact with the presidency. “He denied ever discussing with Davis that Ihejirika was a Boko Haram sponsor. He stressed that at no time during their interactions were such allegations made against Ihejirika and wondered why this should arise. “That he organised several meetings between the purported Boko Haram commanders and Davis in Abuja and was privy to a YouTube video, an interview on Voice of America (VOA) and he (Khadi) also used Davis’ camera to capture snapshots of Davis in a group photograph with some fake commanders of the sect.” Regarding another suspect, Abubakar Yusuf , a 30-year-old man from Biu local government in Borno state, she disclosed that he was a former member of Boko Haram. “Until his arrest, he was a petty trader at Makama new extension, Bauchi state. Yusuf was actively involved in the Boko Haram insurrection of 2009 as an armed foot soldier as well as a paramedic for the sect. He escaped from Maiduguri to Askira-Uba in Borno state and thereafter relocated to Bauchi metropolis, where he was eventually arrested,” she said. “Yusuf was among those presented by Aisha Wakil to Borno state governor between 2011 and 2012 as representatives who would negotiate a peaceful end to the crisis.
In February, 2013, Yusuf was introduced to Davis by Aisha Wakil as a top-ranking Boko Haram member, who could facilitate Davis’ contact with the sect’s leadership even though she knew he was incapable. “Yusuf co-opted and presented Saleh Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi Saleh, Nurudeen Ibrahim and Mubarak Adamu to Davis as the sect’s Amirul Jeish (grand commanders). He also introduced one Yakubu Kaumi (late Abu Zamira) as a spokesperson for the sect. Yusuf and some of the suspects mentioned above were part of the YouTube video, VOA interview and also appeared in the group photograph with Davis.Yusuf confessed to have made about N4 million from fake Boko Haram negotiations.” Speaking about Saleh Ibrahim, a 35-year-old native of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council in Borno state, Ogar disclosed that the suspect joined Boko Haram in 2003, but later left the sect for a job at Borno Radio Television. “Until his arrest, he was a casual staff of Borno Radio Television (BRTV). He confessed to have joined the Boko Haram sect in 2003 and remained an ardent follower of late Mohammed Yusuf until 2005 when he quit the sect to join BRTV. While in the sect, he was a member of the task force committee on vehicle parking at Markaz, the sect’s enclave in Maiduguri,” she explained.
She added that he confessed to the following: “That in 2013, he participated in a government-sponsored dialogue with the Boko Haram sect, and he was presented to the Hassan Tukur and Tanimu Turaki-led committees as a top member of the sect’s Shura council, a claim which was false. “That he and a few other persons granted an interview to the VOA and spoke extensively on the bogus Boko Haram ceasefire with the federal government. “That Khadi paid him N300, 000 for his role in the mischievous media campaign.”
Regarding Abdullahi Saleh, a Fulani from Yola south local government area in Adamawa state, who claims to be between 28 and 30 years old and also a 100 level student of accounting at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi state, the DSS spokesperson said he confessed that in August 2013, Yusuf introduced him with the alias Abu Adam Maisandari to Davis, Wakil, Khadi, and the Tanimu Turaki-led Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges in the northeast. “He participated in the group’s meetings with the Turaki-led committee and was among the purported sect commanders who were interviewed by the VOA,” she added. “He confessed to have made N150, 000 from fake dealings with Davis and the Turaki and Tukur-led committees.” Ogar said another suspect, Nurudeen Ibrahim, a 22-year-old man from Pali village, Alkaleri local government area in Bauchi state, was introduced to Yusuf by his friend, Mubarak Adamu. “Upon his recruitment into the purported Boko Haram commanders’ group, he was introduced to Davis as well as the Turaki-led committee as a representative of Abu Zamira,” she stated. “He confessed to the following: “That he participated in various meetings with the Turaki-led committee, the VOA interview, featured in the YouTube video and was one of the hooded gang members in the group photograph with Davis; “That his financial gains from the fake project with Davis and Yusuf’s groups amounted to about N62, 000.”
While for Mubarak Adamu, a 20-year-old native of Darazo local government area in Bauchi state, who first came in contact with Yusuf in 2010 and was also introduced to Davis and the Turaki-led committee, Ogar said he confessed that he participated in the YouTube video, and was one of the hooded persons in a group photograph with Davis. “According to him, he made N55, 000 from his participation in the scam,” she added. Also for Mustapha Maidugu, a 35-year-old Kanuri man from Yusufari local government in Yobe state, Ogar said he resided at Shehuri north in Maiduguri, Borno state, adding that he was a technical officer with the estate department of Yusufari local government area in Yobe state as well as the secretary of Shehuri North Community Development and Youth Empowerment Association (SNCDYEA)
Nigerians love to party wherever they are in the world, and London is no exception! So BattaBox heads to a young girl’s birthday party to find out what is essential for a Nigerian party abroad.
“Good Music and Good food – we love food,” says the Entertainer.
“Without traditional dress there is no Nigerian party,” says another man in a funky Nigerian outfit.
This party has a whole buffet for food – jollof rice, chicken, moi moi, pounded yam and much more. But also, there’s some loud children’s entertainment, traditional dress for the birthday girl – Ruby – who is three today! And, of course, also a large cake!
But why is it so important to have all our Nigerian cultural heritage for our children parties abroad. Simple say the guests:
“We must let our children know our culture!” says one man.
“We need to teach them about our culture young so it won’t be a new thing to them so they will embrace it with their friends,” says one of the mothers.
What are the essential things for you at a Nigerian Party in London? Becauase it’s clear that Nigerians learn to party from an early age in London, Nigeria or anywhere!

"The General Manager of Plateau Tourist Corporation, John Doy, has claimed that some humans turn to wild beasts to devour livestock at a park in the state. Mr. Doy said on Saturday that wild animals seen around the Jos wildlife park did not escape from the park but were mythical “Rikida” who transform into beast in the night for hunting purposes.
Rikida is a Hausa word used to describe people in the occult world who change to beasts in the night to attack animals they desire. “People muse at this but it still exists till date and the culprits are mostly hunters and butchers,” he said.
Mr. Doy said when the persons transform into animals they choose to be, they devour goats, sheep and cows and vomit them the next day for commercial purposes.
He denied rumours that two monkeys escaped from the Wildlife Park in Jos. He said although monkeys were lower sapiens and always explored the exit routes of their caregivers for curiosity purposes, none has left the park because they get proper care.
Mr. Doy explained that the custodians of the park were well trained and the park was attached to a research team from the National Veterinary Research Institute who gives them the necessary advice. He added that the park also had a veterinary unit where animals were given routine checks Defending his assertion that no monkey or wild animal escaped from the park, the official said it was impossible for animals to leave their cages for hunting purposes and return the next day still caged. “It is irrational to think locked animals wonder at night and locked themselves back when they return from their hunting expeditions,” he said." LMAO !!!

Jesse wrote: ‘I watched the Headies, too much dancing in a country that’s going through so much. We musicians are the guardians of society’. Though such creams won’t make your breast grow a size larger soon you will feel the positive effect. I don’t know how it works on the level of biology but these creams usually lift and firm breasts so that they look very nice and sexy. But before buying a crème of such a kind don’t forget to read the list of ingredients attentively from the very beginning to the end. You have to be 100% sure that it is natural.

In one of her most candid interviews ever, actress Stella Damasus opened up about her life, struggles, her first and second marriage & what we care most about, her relationship with Daniel Adenimokun. She said she didn't steal him and implied that when she met him, he was already single.
Speaking with Emma Emerson of Golden Icons, Stella Damasus opened up about her relationship with Daniel. She said; "Let me put it this way. Let me help you hit the nail on the head. One of the comments I have seen consistently, over and over again, is ‘Stella snatches somebody’s husband’, ‘Stella the husband snatcher’, which is what has been going on. And I had sworn that I would never talk about it, or even listen or stress myself about this thing but I have decided to do this now, so that I end this once and for all.
First of all, let me paint a picture for you and you let me know what makes sense to you. When I looked up the word snatch or steal, ehh, let’s go to the dictionary. It means, forcefully taking something away from its original position. Forcefully. From its original position to another position. Something that does not belong to you. That’s what I gathered from the word snatch or steal. So I looked at me, Stella, and I wondered to myself, how is it possible to go to somebody’s home, and take a man, and take his son, away from his home and say follow me. You are a man, and according to their story, he is happily married inside his home. With his family complete and I walk into that home, to forcefully take a man, abled bodied man, and a kid, away from somebody’s hand and you are there looking at me. How does that work?
Did they accuse me of using voodoo? Yes or no? They said no. Okay, did I put a gun on anybody’s head and remove somebody from somewhere? They said no. So logically, if people actually sit down and think about it intelligently, how do you snatch somebody from somebody and the person is there looking at you?
So when you see a man who has settled ties with a woman and decides to move on with his life and you feel that there is something in this man that you like and he likes you. I am not a kid. I am 36 years old. I am not about to start hiding myself. I was waiting for somebody to actually ask me this question, because all I have heard for the past two, three years are rumours. They said, blogs said, this said. Nobody has been bold enough to confront me and ask me. So I say, if I steal something from somebody, and the person is really the owner of the thing, you come and ask me, ‘you took something from me, give me back’.
But nobody was able to that. And I am like, if I meet an able bodied man that has left and moved on. That is not even in the same house with whoever and is not doing anything with whoever, and both parties have decided this thing is not going anywhere, and they have gone their separate ways, why is it that it easier for the world to blame the woman that the man has decided to end up with? Why is it that it is always that woman that scattered that home? The two people that did things that nobody was there, nobody said something must have happened between this two people but it is always somebody else that is the problem. And I always say, I do not tolerate blaming anybody for your own problems. I have had problems.
After my late husband’s death, I got married again and the marriage didn’t work. After eight ( months, it crashed. People didn’t hear much about it, why? We were both mature to understand that we came together, we knew that the thing was not working, instead of us to become enemies we will remain friends, let’s just let it go quietly. And we let it go quietly. I didn’t blame anybody else for doing it, he didn’t blame anybody else for doing it. So I am wondering, two people come together they go their separate ways, this one meets somebody, all of a sudden, it is that somebody that is the problem. Did anybody ever ask, what went wrong? Why would a man pick up his son and walk away from his marriage?
Was there anytime another woman was the problem until the man moved on with another woman? Nobody brought up Stella’s name, then all of a sudden, ‘oh he’s moved on with somebody else (snaps fingers), it must be her’. How? I am still waiting for somebody to come with proof to say ‘oh when they were still in marriage, when they were still in a house, you came and did this.’ So the reason why I don’t like talking about it is that, there are some things I would say to you and you would look at me like ‘oh wow’ but I don’t want to be derogatory, I don’t want to tow the line that other people have towed by talking bad about people. I would never do that but the stories started coming. At first I ignored it, I just kept quiet, and then it was all over the place, Google, blogs, and I am like, one day, one day, I would tell my story. There’s a reason why I am respecting certain people, respecting certain legal issues that are going on. So there might be some things I may not hammer on, but whenever you hear this person snatched this person’s, you will ask the person, the person that they said was the original owner, what was the person doing when they were snatching the person from him or her? I don’t get it. Do you understand?
So I look at it, I am not ugly, I am not dumb. Of all the men in the world, I will now go and look for somebody else’s own and say this is the one I want. If he didn’t come out of it and say I want to be with you and you want to be with me, how? Why would I come and grab…? Am I that bad looking? Am I that old?.”

Former governor of Lagos State and a national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has reportedly forced members of the Southwest caucus of the party to endorse him as the Vice Presidential candidate to General Muhammad Buhari (Rtd), who won last Wednesday's party primary.
Party sources told SaharaReporters that Tinubu revived his ambition despite the party deciding at the end of the convention not to present him for the slot.
Participants at a Sunday night meeting convened by Tinubu were shocked at his sudden U-turn.
They said his powerful hold on the party left several of them unable to refuse his decision to present himself. It is all more difficult as the party had already decided against presenting a Muslim/Muslim ticket. Buhari and Tinubu are both Muslims.
Some members of the caucus however refused to sign the so-called endorsement, which will be considered later tonight at an enlarged party meeting in Abuja.
Ironically, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had in a press statement on Sunday by the party’s publicity secretary, Olisa Metuh, accused Buhari of being a “hostage” of Mr. Tinubu.
President Goodluck Jonathan, whose campaign team had gone into panic mode after Buhari emerged as the APC presidential candidate, is said to be waiting for the outcome of the search for Buhari’s running mate.
They believe that if Tinubu succeeds in his scheme, he will be an easy target to demolish since the Attorney General of the Federation has already compiled charges of perjury against him regarding his infamous Toronto certificate scandal. In addition will be his controversial history as a drug dealer, documented in a civil forfeiture trial in the United States. He was also indicted by a federal panel in 2006.
SaharaReporters’ checks with several party operatives in Abuja showed complete despondency at the action of Mr. Tinubu, considering the momentum being enjoyed by the party following its historic convention.
A lot of them are suspicious that he might have cut a deal with President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure that the party presents a ticket that cannot withstand the tottering presidents’ ambition in February.
Some of them told our reporters that the party's Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari will likely consider anyone but Tinubu as VP candidate, stressing that he is being careful.
Meanwhile, Tinubu remains in Lagos where he is scheming with some of his lieutenants to gain “support” for his scheme. He has also presented two other alternatives, including Prof. Yemi Osinbajo a former Lagos State Attorney General, and Senator Olurunnimbe Mamora, in case his party rejects his candidature.
Tinubu told some members of his inner caucus that being VP is his best shot at Nigeria's presidency at this time considering that if Buhari completes one term or dies, he will, as improbably as it sounds, emerge leader of Nigeria.
For residents of Mortgage area in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital in northern Nigeria, shock and total disbelieve is their stock in trade as they try to come to terms with how a young man could be so callous as to mastermind the brutal assassination of his biological mother, Hajia Aisha, and two young sisters, aged 9 and 11.
That is the story of the school drop out named Kamalu, who hired assassins to snuff the lives out of his loved ones. Immediately after the bodies of the victims were discovered where they were dumped in the Bager dam, located off the Gusau-Dansadau Road in the state capital, relations became suspicious and fingers were pointing at Kamalu who is said to have consistently threatened to kill his mother if she failed to give him money.
Now in the net and standing trial for the gruesome murders, Kamalu is said to be begging for mercy which is not forthcoming just as resident are urging the police to allow the law to take its course in the matter and make sure the victims get justice. According to report in the Sun Newspaper, a resident had found the floating body of Hajia Aisha in the Bager dam from which the State water Board sources water and treats for consumption in the metropolis, on the 29th of May, 2013. The resident quickly raised an alarm and the police were informed and they quickly removed the corpse, and took it to the Federal Medical Centre Gusau for autopsy. The postmortem examination of the corpses showed that there were deep cuts and injuries all over it. This discovery led the police to suspect foul play, and listed it as a case of SUD, sudden unnatural death. It was a report of a missing person filed by the family which resulted in the police directing them to the mortuary where the shocking find was dicovered.
Based on this positive identification of the corpse, policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer, went to home of the deceased and found the place locked up. They forced the door open and were confronted by the shocking sight of blood stains all over the house. Meanwhile, the place had been ransacked by the perpetrators of the crime, who probably removed money and other valuable items.
The relations informed the police that the personal car of the late Hajiya Aisha was not in the compound, but curiously, her son’s car was parked within the premises. When the police searched the car, they found blood-stained pillow cases and bed-sheets in the boot of the car. They took the items away as exhibits while attention shifted to what must have happened to the two young daughters, who were also living with their mother. The police promptly suspected that the assailants must have killed them too and probably dumped their bodies where the body of their mother was discovered.
The management of Coca Cola Company has been called upon to respect Nigerian laws by complying with the directives of the Consumers Protection Council, CPC.
This call was made by Lagos lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) in a letter he w rote to the company and addressed to its chairman and chief executive officer, Mr. Muktar Kent, calling on the company to respect international standards in Nigeria.
Part of the letter reads: “I am writing to express my serious concern about the failure of Coca-Cola Company to respect international standards in its manufacturing process and the refusal to allow or subject this process to inspection by appropriate authorities, in particular, the Consumer Protection Council of Nigeria (CPC).
“This failure and refusal to effectively comply with Nigerian laws and regulations is selective on the part of your company because I am fully aware that Coca-Cola will not breach international standards in its operations in the US or UK without serious consequences and punishment by the appropriate authorities in those countries.
“The following questions are pertinent: Why would the Coca-Cola Company expect not to be held responsible in Nigeria when its products contain rusty bottle crown corks, rusty cans and foreign particles? Are the health conditions of Nigerians less important?
“Why would Coca-Cola Company refuse to establish a Shelf Life Policy for their products in the country which clearly would help to facilitate the removal of expired products from the market?
“I contend that the double standard clearly being exhibited by Coca-Cola is not only unethical but also inconsistent with international standards such as the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights: Implementing the United Nations Protect, Respect and Remedy Framework. The Guiding Principles were endorsed by the UN Human Rights Council in June 2011.”
He counselled Coca-Cola Company to ensure consistency in its practice and operations whether in developed countries like the US and the UK or developing countries like Nigeria.
According to Falana, Coca-Cola should display a greater level of responsibility by making sure that its products are not harmful to Nigerian consumers and to allow the CPC and other authorities to carry out their mandates in cases where Coca-Cola Company operations or services are found to be directly or indirectly injurious to the health of Nigerians.
I received the news that Nigeria's Interstate High Speed Rail Project has been listed amongst the world's top 100 infrastructure projects with a sense of fulfillment that this administration's desire to link our commercial and administrative capitals is receiving global affirmation. Coming at a time when the Abuja-Kaduna rail project has reached near completion stage, one can say Nigeria is witnessing a railway revolution.
This Forward March to progress will continue, with your cooperation, until Nigeria's infrastructure, be they roads, schools, airports or hospitals, are listed as amongst the best in the world. And by God's grace, this will happen in the not too distant future. GEJ
She vanished off the scene for a while but she is back like never before. The controversial singer, wife and mother has been breaking the web with her photos in the last 2 weeks. From his base in Ilorin, retired Brigadier Godwin Alabi-Isama this morning sent his caustic response to General Olusegun Obasanjo’s three-volume memoir, My Watch.
In a telephone conversation with P.M.NEWS and TheNEWS, Alabi-Isama described Obasanjo as an incredible liar and said that if he had read Obasanjo’s book before it was presented in Lagos last Tuesday, 9 December, he would have gone to the venue to challenge Obasanjo. He said “the tragedy of our civil war is painful, but that Obasanjo is publishing fiction about it is so outrageous. We should not allow this liar to get away with his self-serving lies.’’
Here is the text of Alabi-Isama’s response:
“I’m gravely pained to be trading words with General Olusegun Obasanjo once again on the history of Nigeria-Biafra War. He is an elder and a former ruler who, ordinarily, should be treated with utmost respect. But how can one genuinely respect an old man who tells lies like a badly raised child? Obasanjo has obviously not recovered from the shock inflicted on him by my book, The Tragedy of Victory in which I exposed the tissues of lies in his civil war memoir, My Command. It is said that a lie may travel for a thousand miles, but it takes just one step of truth to catch up with it. “I’m alive to stand up to him on the lies he has told on the war because I was a major participant in it. I kept records. With facts and figures at my finger tips, I have debunked Obasanjo’s lies in part three of my book, consisting of one hundred and sixty five pages, sixty nine pictures, thirteen military strategies and tactics, maps and documents. This was the same Obasanjo who published a fake Federal Government gazette that I was found guilty by the Army when I was never tried. I have proved that Obasanjo was an incompetent commander. I have proved that he was a wily and cunning fellow, and an incredible opportunist who reaped where he did not sow. “I have proved that he was an ingrate and a hypocrite. More importantly, I have proved that he was a coward, who ran away from the war front to go and look for phantom ammunition. Rather than respond to my claims the way a gallant officer should, he has now responded like a motor-park tout, impugning my person and questioning my ethnic lineage. I never said I was from Ibadan. I only schooled there. General Obasanjo, this bolekaja style is so demeaning. You live in a glass house, so stop throwing stones. We, who have facts, pictures and documents, meticulously kept over the years, can tell the whole world one or two things about you.
“Have a look at this attached picture at your wedding to your first wife Remi. When the photographer wanted to take the picture of the bride and groom and their parents, you said a few things about your parents which I still remember. It was only Remi’s mother that took the picture with us. Please, don’t mess with the memory of my dear parents. You know my mother, an Ilorin woman, and you also saw her at the war front. She told me who my father was and she spoke his language, and took me to his home town when he died. I went to primary school in Owu, so I know your family very well. You should be honest enough to tell the world the story of the man who was your father. I told you and wrote in my book that any person who does not appreciate the efforts of women has had no good mother. Please, don’t go beyond military tactics and strategies when dealing with me.
“You say in volume three of your book My Watch that I could be in bed with a woman while radioing my commander that I was in pursuit of rebels. Hundreds of thousands of those who have read my book The Tragedy of Victory——a six hundred and seventy-page book, complete with four hundred and fifty pictures and thirty nine military strategies and tactics, maps and documents—- will call you a liar. I am so surprised and even embarrassed that a man of your status is still trading in gutter rumours. An elder with a filthy mind, a leader who lacks wisdom of age, does not deserve any respect. “I’m the same Godwin Alabi-Isama that commanded the troops that liberated today’s Cross River State in thirty days of battle from Calabar to Obubra with no single casualty. This is the same Alabi-Isama that advanced 480 kilometres in 30 days from Calabar to Port Harcourt, liberating today’s Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa States with 35,000 men and women with 15000 on logistics, building roads and pontoons, with 8 men and 2 officers as my casualties. Obasanjo ordered the attack of Ohoba, a mere 24 miles from Owerri, in one hour of battle, more than 1000 Nigerian soldiers were dead.
“Obasanjo claims that when I once played squash with him, I cheated. This incredible liar has forgotten that there were witnesses to that game. Those witnesses are still alive, and they remember what really happened. I played squash with him once in my life. He could not make a point because I was not one of his sycophants who would allow him to win a game just to massage his huge ego. Look, General Obasanjo, there was no way you could have beaten me in any game. You do not have the physique and agility to do that. Apart from being a popular sports man and soccer captain in Ibadan Boys High School, I was Sports Officer in the Nigerian Army, playing games from soccer to tennis, athletics etc. You never played any games at school let alone in the Army. If you had been diligent at your physical exercises as we were taught to be, your protruding tummy would not have become a butt of joke to many officers and men of the Army.
Oh cruel could one get to raise money for a travel trip?!
A petroleum tanker conductor, Sani Saidu, has stabbed his master, Shitta Aremu to death so as to steal the product, sell and raise money to travel to Dubai for business.
The 32 year old has now been arrested by the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, Yaba, Lagos.
In his statement to the police, he revealed that he was hanging out at a fuel depot in Lagos when Aremu, alias Baba Oyo, engaged him to be the motor-boy on his truck on a trip to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to supply 40,000 litre of aviation fuel worth N5.5 million, but that act was the last for Aremu as his motor-boy murdered him on the way and diverted the product to the northern part of the country.
Reports from the police investigation reveal that the late Aremu whose age was put around 56 years, was a driver to S.K Transport Service Nigeria Limited and reportedly loaded the truck with plate number AGL 368 XA with the product and consequently left Lagos for Port Harcourt on November 13, 2014, to discharge the content.
But leaving Lagos, he was said to have invited Saidu to work with him as his motor-boy, with a promise to pay him an undisclosed amount at the end of the trip.
The police report, according to Saidu’s confession, further states that when, two days later, his employers efforts to reach Aremu on phone, raised suspicions of danger.
They decided to trace the location of the vehicle via the tracking device installed in the truck and were shocked that the truck had been diverted from its original route to somewhere around Mutum Biu, in Taraba State.
The company initially thought their driver had some sinister moves up his sleeves and laid a complaint SCID where detectives swung into action by travelling to Taraba State. Fortunately for them, the truck was recovered at the Taraba Police Command, with only Saidu.
It was in the course of investigation that the police established that Saidu actually murdered his master before diverting the truck to the northern part of the country.
In an interview with the Vanguard Newspaper while in police cell, Saidu, a father of five, narrated how the devil took over him and he stabbed his master to death with a knife, threw him out of the truck and took over the steering, diverting the product to the north, all in a bid to get money to travel to the Dubai.
A 22-year-old mechanic, Saheed Ogunbanwo, who allegedly slapped a staff of Independent National Electoral Commission, was on Monday arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos. Ogunbanwo, who resides at No. 22, Isale Ebute St., Addo Langbasa, Ajah, Lagos, is standing trial on two-count charge of conspiracy and assault. The prosecutor, Sgt. Emmanuel Ajayi, told the court that the accused and one other at large, committed the offence on Dec. 8, at 2 p.m., at Addo Primary School, Langbasa, Ajah. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge. Magistrate A. A. Famobiwo, granted him bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.
