Remember Alec Godwin? He is a well known music producer and former husband of the late gospel artiste, Kefee.

Alec has finally left the shores of Nigeria and relocated to the US. He said he had to leave Nigeria for a “fresh start.”

The controversial budding music producer who eventually got married again few years after he divorced the Late Branama Queen, Kefee said, “I had to move basically for my family and my kids in particular. I have always wanted to raise them here in the US.”

However, Alec also said he wasn't done with music as he hopes to continue his career in the US.
“This is the part two of my entertainment dreams and I pray I can pull it off from here. I intend to do pretty much as I was doing in Nigeria. I don’t plan to come back soon unless something serious comes up. If I keep jumping around, I will not be able to settle down here,” he said.

The Dean of Post-Graduate School, Professor A. Ubachukwu, addressed the students, saying that:

“Government does not give any allocation for postgraduate school as it is assumed that post-graduate students are adult and can pay cost for their education. I use my personal money at times to run the PG school. I have been talking with some of your leaders on this issue for some time now and we compared notes with other universities before the increment on PG school fees was made.”

There is jubilation in Mubi, Adamawa state, as the Emir of the town, Dr. Abubakar Isa Ahmadu, on Friday returned to his palace after two months' exile occasioned by the Boko Haram insurgents' attacks.

The insurgents had invaded the town and destroyed its economic life wire and burnt down the Mubi International Market along with several churches.

They also chased the emir out and hoisted their flag in the palace.

said they were overwhelmed with joy and happiness following the return of their Emir, after the military recaptured the town.

Isa was in Saudi Arabia as the state Amirul Hajj when the insurgents attacked the town on October 12, 2014 and took over his palace, sending him into temporary exile from his kingdom.

Today marks the 17th year that gospel musician Yinka Ayefele had the motor accident that almost got him killed. He took to his facebook page thank God for sparing his life. The Police headquarters building on Obalende, Lagos state has been engulfed by fire...The gigantic fire which started this morning at the 'Kan Saleem' police station building close to P&T affected most parts of the Police force edifice...Cause of the fire was not known at press time as firefighters have reportedly been drafted to the area to quell the outburst and other security personnel on ground to forestall order.

An Osun State High Court, on Thursday sentenced to death by hanging, the prime suspect in June 14, 2007 bomb blast incident, Richard Abayomi Adesanmi.

The blast occurred within the premises of Osun State Secretariat, Abeere.

Justice Adeyinka Aderibigbe, while delivering his judgement in the case, convicted Adesanmi on all the six-count charge bothering on murder and conspiracy to effect unlawful purpose.

It would be recalled that an explosion, which occurred in the Peugeot 504 saloon car with the registration number AL 850 NND parked near Ministry of Water Resources and Rural Development, had killed one of the occupants of the vehicle who was simply identified as Taye and injured Adesanmi.

Other two occupants of the vehicle, one Henry and Gboyega Olasogba, however, escaped from the scene and have remained at large since then.

After the incident, Adesanmi, who claimed to be an indigene of Ondo, was immediately taken to the Government House clinic, where he was treated for the injuries he received in his eyes.

During the investigation, police confirmed that Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was the substance that exploded in the vehicle on the day of the incident, adding that materials that could be used to make explosives were also recovered from the vehicle driven by one of the accused persons.

Delivering his judgement, Justice Aderibigbe said “Richard Abayomi Adesanmi is sentenced to death by hanging on his neck till he gives up the ghost.”

Adesanmi, who bowed as the judge passed the verdict, was in tears as the prison officials led him out of the court.

Aderibigbe had earlier, while ruling on the first five counts of the charge, pronounced Adesanmi guilty of act intended to cause harm contrary to Section 332 (3) of Criminal Code of Osun State and to commit crime with explosive Contrary to Section 514 of Criminal Code of Osun State.

He subsequently slammed a combined sentence of 40 years jail term with no option of fine on Adesanmi for the first five counts.

Finland yesterday deported more than 100 Nigerians who have sought asylum in the European country.
The deportees, some of whom have stayed in Finland for over one year arrived the cargo terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos at 7am yesterday with a cargo airline called, Privilege Gourment.

They included children, women and some with their immediate family.

One of the deportees, Mr Isaac Ejiofor, told journalists that the affected Nigerians had no criminal records in Finland, wondering why they should be deported after spending over one year in the asylum camp.

Ejiofor who explained that he was initially in Greece, said he went to Finland to seek asylum so that he could get documents that would enable him work in the country.

He alleged that the Finland authorities only picked up and deported Nigerians where they were found among other African nationals.
When asked if the Nigerian Embassy at Finland was aware of their plight, Ejiofor said the embassy was aware but refused to come to their aid after paying 1,500 euro to the embassy officials in Finland.

He said, “The policeman asked me what I want since I do not have any criminal record to warrant my deportation.
“I said I wanted to work and live a normal life in Finland, so he (policeman) told me to seek asylum and I did that.
“I was taken to the asylum camp and was there for about more than a year processing my documents that will permit me to work.”

Another deportee, who only gave his name as Jackson, said the Nigerian Embassy officials in Finland must have colluded with some Finland Immigration authorities to extort money from asylum seekers in the camp.
He said that the embassy officials, however, promised to assist them to get working permit from the Finland authority.

A female deportee simply called Esther, said that she and her husband has been in Finland over 14 years, but was surprised that they were deported without committing an offence.
She said that she was deported along with her seven year-old daughter and husband without any compensation.

She said that other Africans in the camp were given an opportunity to stay and work in Finland, but that the Finland authority were hostile to Nigerians.
She appealed to the Federal Government to come to their aid, particularly Nigerians in Finland and other Europe nations.


She said that most of the Nigerians at the asylum camp in Finland came from other European countries like Greece, Denmark, Sweden and Norway to seek asylum to be able to get working documents. - Culled from leadership online.

Nollywood actress, Ejiro Okurame has disclosed that she is yet to forgive herself for acting a sexually suggestive role in a movie scene. The actress who barely had any clothes on in the said movie revealed that such roles do not glorify the Nigerian culture and also do not speak well of actors as they are seen by some children as role models.

Dame Patience Faka Jonathan was born 1957 into a respectable Christian family of Chief Lazarus Iwari-Oba in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. South South Nigeria. She is the current First Lady of Nigeria and a permanent secretary in her Bayelsa state. She is married to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Azikiwe Ebele Jonathan.

Dame Patience Jonathan earned her school certificate in 1976, and passed the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in 1980. In 1989, she obtained the National Certificate of Education (NCE) in Mathematics and Biology from the Rivers State College of Arts and Science, Port Harcourt. She then proceeded to the University of Port Harcourt and studied Biology and Psychology.

Patience Jonathan started her career as a teacher at the Stella Maris College, Port Harcourt and latter administrator at Sports Institute Isake. From there She moved to the banking sector in 1997, where she established the first community bank in Port Harcourt called the Akpo Community Bank. She served as Marketing Manager of Imiete Community Bank. She returned to the classroom briefly again as teacher. Eventually she was transferred to the Bayelsa State Ministry of Education, where she served until 29 May 1999 when her husband became the Deputy Governor of the state. On 12 July 2012, she became a permanent secretary in Bayelsa state. She and her husband have two children.

The general parlance that Nigerians do not dull when it comes to anything they do has come to play yet again as the country has set another ignominious record as the country with the highest number of criminals in the United Kingdom, amongst other African countries.
In a new report released by the UK Home Office, out of a total number of 106, 000 registered Nigerians living in Britain, 832 of them are confirmed as criminals who have been recorded as offenders. They have been indicted for various criminal endeavours like murder, rape, drug trafficking, stealing, credit card fraud or love and marriage scams.

Other African countries with high number of criminals include Somalia which has 558 criminals out of its 45,000 citizens while Zimbabwe has 482 bad guys from a population of 50,000. Algeria has the least number of citizens living in the UK with just 9,000 but they have 305 criminals.
But on the world scale, Jamaica tops the rating with 1,026 notorious citizens out of only 47,000 people living in the country.

A Nigerian man who is an asylum seeker in in Dublin, Ireland, Peter Ifedayo, has brought shame to the whole country by posting nude photos of a single mother he was dating on his Watsapp page because she refused to give him money.

The heart broken Nigerian woman, Olabomi Ojuade, has been traumatised and has been unable to come to terms with the actions of a man she loved and trusted with all her heart. She has also taken to Youtube to release videos where she talks about the shame she has been made to undergo as well as warn women to beware of men they give their hearts to.

According to the story she gave out, she met Peter some months ago, not knowing his stock in trade is dating rich women in that country and living off them. He asked her for a relationship and thinking she has found the man to ease her of her loneliness, she gave her heart to him, gave him love and trusted him with her life.

Then after a few months of dizzying love affair, in which time she did some naughty things with him like taking photos while making love, Peter went into his mode and started asking her for money.

But when the demands became excessive and she could not come up with them, and told him they should call off the relationship, Peter threatened to blackmail her and post the nude photos on the Internet, a threat he carried out without minding the life he is going to ruin. The naked photos became viral a few days later and she has been so devastated and downcast.

She had to make the videos and has been telling single mothers to investigate a man they want to date and be careful of introducing him to their kids or he could turn around to ruin their lives.

The Ebola Fighters beat the Ferguson protesters to the prestigious title. 3rd was Russian President Vladimir Putin, followed by Masoud Barzani, the acting president of the Iraqi Kurdish Region, and English teacher-turned-Alibaba founder Jack Ma.

The troops of the Nigerian Army are carrying out a major operation to flush out remnants of Boko Haram insurgents in Michika and some neighboring communities in Adamawa State.

Investigation revealed that the soldiers have restricted movement from Hong to Michika to prevent the insurgents from fleeing the area.
The source said that some of the insurgents believed to be from the Michika area launched an attack on a military checkpoint in the town but were repelled by the vigilant soldiers.
It was gathered that the soldiers, riot policemen and vigilance groups are carrying out house-to-house search to flush out the insurgents hiding in some of the communities.

A source said, “You know, some of the youths from Michika joined them, and they attacked the troops in the town.
“The soldiers were able to repel the attack and pursued them to some communities outside the main town.
“The troops have also imposed a no movement order on the area from Hong to Michika.”

The source said that the troops recovered three buses which were taken away from the College of Education, Hong, during the invasion of the community by the insurgents.
