PoliticsAtiku Vows To Defeat Buhari In APC Presidential Primaries by TheRealMrStan(op): 1:52pm On Nov 30, 2014
Former Vice President, Alhaji Abubarkar Atiku has said he will defeat other aspirants, including General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), jostling for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to contest next year’s Presidential election.

Atiku, who was in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Saturday to meet with party leaders and delegates of the party, said the reception he had received since he has been moving around the country wooing delegates showed he was the candidate to beat and would indeed clinch the party’s ticket.

Pointedly, the former Vice President said the popularity of his main challenger; Buhari is only in the media as realities on ground in many of the states visited showed otherwise.

His words: “As I move around, I count my delegates and by the time I conclude, I should be okay.”
On the popularity of Buhari among the Southwest leaders and delegates, Atiku said: “I don’t think so, it is more of media hype, it is you people that are writing that one, but by the things on ground, I think I am far ahead.”

Christianity EtcChristians Must Choose Between Apostle Paul And Jesus Christ - Femi Aribisala by TheRealMrStan(op): 1:36pm On Nov 30, 2014
Christians have to decide whether to obey Jesus or to obey Paul.

(1)Jesus says we should beware of the doctrine of the Pharisees (Luke 12:1); but Paul proclaimed himself a Pharisee even as a Christian (Acts 23:6).

(2) Jesus warns that not everyone who calls him Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 7:21); but Paul says everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13).

(3) Jesus asks men to preach the gospel (Matthew 28:18-19); but Paul says he did not receive his own gospel from men (Galatians 1:11-12).

(4) Jesus himself was circumcised (Luke 2:21); but Paul says if we are circumcised we would be estranged from Christ (Galatians 5:2-4).

(5) Jesus says children of God are born spiritually (John 3:3); but Paul says children of God are adopted (Romans 8:15).

(6) Jesus says God must be the only father of believers (Matthew 23:9); but Paul proclaims himself the father of some believers (Philemon 1:10; 1 Corinthians 4:15).

(7) Jesus says there is only one pastor and he is the one (John 10:16) ; but Paul says there are many pastors (Ephesians 4 :11).

(8 ) Jesus says there is only one teacher and he is the one (Matthew 23:8 ) ; but Paul says there are many teachers and that God ordained him as a teacher (1 Timothy 2:7).

(9) Jesus says we should pray in private and not on street-corners (Matthew 6:5-6) ; but Paul says we should pray everywhere (1 Timothy 2:8 ).

(10) Jesus says we should not eat food sacrificed to idols (Revelation 2:14); but Paul says it does not matter if we eat food sacrificed to idols (1 Corinthians 8:8; Romans 14:14).

(11) Jesus says we should not receive payment for preaching the gospel (Matthew 10:8 ) ; but Paul says we should receive payment for preaching the gospel (1 Corinthians 9:11).

(12) Jesus warns us to beware of thieves and robbers masquerading as pastors (John 10:1/8 ) ; but Paul admits to robbing churches in the name of receiving wages from them (2 Corinthians 11:8 ).

(13) Jesus asks us to baptise as we preach the gospel (Matthew 28:19); but Paul dismisses the importance of baptism (1 Corinthians 1:17).

(14) Jesus says in preaching the gospel we should build on other men’s foundations (John 4:38 ) ; but Paul says he is determined not to build on other men’s foundations (Romans 15:20).

(15) Jesus says we should not swear or curse (Matthew 5:34-37) ; but Paul swears and curses (2 Corinthians 1:23 ; Galatians 1:9).

(16) Jesus is against the use of deception (John 1:47) ; but Paul boasts of using deception (2 Corinthians 12:16).

(17) Jesus says we should disregard public opinion (Luke 6:26; John 15:18-19) ; but Paul actively courts public opinion (1 Corinthians 10:33 ; 1 Corinthians 9:20-22).

(18 ) Jesus says God is not the God of the dead (Luke 20:38 ); but Paul says God is the God of the dead (Romans 14:9).

(19) Jesus says believers will never die (John 11:26) ; but Paul says believers died with Christ (Romans 6:8 ).

(20) Jesus says he was a ransom for only some people (Matthew 20:28 ) ; but Paul says Jesus was a ransom for everybody (1 Timothy 2:6).

(21) Jesus says some men are righteous (Matthew 13:17; Matthew 23:35) ; but Paul says no one is righteous (Romans 3:10).

(22) Jesus says he is not the saviour of the righteous (Matthew 9:12-13) ; but Paul says Jesus is the saviour of all men (1 Timothy 4:10).

(23) Jesus says the kingdom of God has been taken away from Israel (Matthew 21:43) ; but Paul says all Israel will be saved (Romans 11:26).

(24) Jesus says God does not desire sacrifices (Matthew 9:13); but Paul says God sacrificed Jesus to himself (1 Corinthians 5:7).

(25) Jesus says he did not come to abrogate the law (Matthew 5:17-18 ); but Paul says Jesus abrogated the law (Romans 10:4 ; Colossians 2:14).

(26) Jesus says salvation is by works (Matthew 7:21; Matthew 21:28-31) ; but Paul says salvation is not by works but by grace (Ephesians 2:8-9).

(27) Jesus says our trespasses will only be forgiven if we forgive others (Matthew 6:14-15) ; but Paul says all our trespasses have already been forgiven (Colossians 2:13).

(28) Jesus says our receiving mercy depends on our being merciful (Matthew 5:7); but Paul says our receiving mercy depends entirely on God’s discretion (Romans 9:16).

(29) Jesus says we will be justified by our own words (Matthew 12:37); but Paul says we are justified by faith (Romans 3:28).

(30) Jesus says eternal life is very costly (Matthew 19:29; Luke 14:28-33); but Paul says eternal life is a free gift (Romans 6:23).

(31) Jesus says eternal life is attained by hearing and acting on his words (John 5:24); but Paul says eternal life is attained by grace (Romans 5:21)...

PoliticsGunmen Kill 11 In Rivers State by TheRealMrStan(op): 11:22am On Nov 30, 2014
No fewer than eleven persons were feared dead in Omoku, headquarters of Ogba Egbema Ndoni local government area of Rivers State, after some gunmen stormed the area on Friday night.

It was gathered that the gunmen, who were masked, shot erratically for several hours.

Eyewitness said the gunmen later fled when men of the Joint Task Force, JTF, engaged them in a gun duel.

The gunmen were said to have regrouped, yesterday afternoon, to continue the shooting at the market.

Among those killed, sources said, was a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), simply identified as Godspower.

The Chairman of the local government area, Mr Austin Ayamadu, who condemned the incident, appealed to residents to remain calm, assuring that security men had taken charge of the area. Ayamadu said the gunmen went from one street to the other shooting before security men swung into action.

“Unknown gunmen invaded Omoku and started by killing an elder of the APC and some other people were also killed. The figure I cannot immediately say because of the security situation, but it is more than five”, he said.

PoliticsBoko Haram Attacks Shani Town In Borno by TheRealMrStan(op): 11:15am On Nov 30, 2014
Gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram last night invaded Shani, the headquarters of Shani Local Government Area in southern part of Borno State.

According to DailyTrust, the gunmen opened fire on innocent people after setting public buildings on fire. It is not yet clear how many people lost their lives but sources who spoke to DailyTrust said the assailants descended on the civilians even as thick smoke was billowing, heightening fear that private residents may have also been set ablaze. Bawa Garba, a resident of the area who spoke with DailyTrust, described the attack as devastating. “The terrorists stormed Shani in a convoy of over 20 motorcycles. Most of them carried assault rifles and petrol bombs,” he said.

Another source, Yusuf Sabo said the attackers have destroyed the Divisional Police Headquarters in Shani. “The police on duty fled when it was obvious that the terrorists had superior weapons. “After they hurled explosives into the station, they proceeded to the town and only God knows the mayhem they inflicted on the people,” he was also quoted as saying by DailyTrust. There was no immediate confirmation of the attack from both the police and the army. Shani is one of the few local government areas in southern Borno that had few incidences of attacks.

Music/RadioDavido Loses Out in 5 Nominations At Channel O Awards-2014, List Of Winners by TheRealMrStan(op): 9:55am On Nov 30, 2014
'Aye' crooner Davido unsurprisingly bagged the most nominated at the just concluded Channel O Music Video awards for 2014 but painfully, he walked home with none of the awards.

The young music star was amazed at his lost as all 5 nominations he got, was won by his contemporaries.

Without much hard feelings, the 22 year old O.B.O. (Omo Baba Olowo) congratulated the winners but we all know that is not skin deep.

Top music producer, Don Jazzy shared his opinion also insisting Davido was worth claiming some of the awards.

“My most gifted video award is Aye by Davido sha. #MyOpinion. He definitely owned 2014. #Okbye” He tweeted.

The concerned fans of Davido are of the opinion that he needs to motivate them to vote for him next year as he has lost out in 4 international awards back to back.

HealthHollande Becomes First European Leader To Visit Ebola-hit Region by TheRealMrStan(op): 2:52pm On Nov 29, 2014
French President Francois Hollande is visiting Guinea, on the first trip by a Western leader to a country at the centre of the latest Ebola outbreak.

After arriving in the capital, he told his hosts France had a "duty to support you" in the fight against the virus.

More than 1,200 people have died of Ebola in Guinea, which is to trial a test to diagnose Ebola.

The outbreak was now "stable" in the West African country, the World Health Organization (WHO) said last week.

France has pledged 100m euros (£79m; $125m) to help tackle the disease by opening several care centres in Guinea, a former French colony.

More than 5,600 people have died in the latest outbreak, with Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia the worst hit.

Francois Hollande: "I want to be here in Guinea to show France's solidarity through the trials you're experiencing"
"We have a duty to support you," Mr Hollande said after his arrival in Conakry. "We stand together in the fight against the virus."

During his one-day visit, he is due to tour healthcare centres and take part in round-table discussions on Ebola, according to AFP news agency.

Paris plans to send mobile health clinics to Guinea and fund 200 beds for Ebola patients.

After Guinea, President Hollande will fly to Senegal to take part in a summit of French-speaking leaders.

Science/TechnologyHidden Cameras Capture Forest Elephant's Activity In South-west Nigeria by TheRealMrStan(op): 1:34pm On Nov 29, 2014
First published in 2012

Elephants and at least six other mammal species have been caught on camera within the Omo-Shasha-Oluwa forest complex in south-western Nigeria.

We are very grateful to EXP Marketing Nigeria Ltd. who donated the four ‘Bushnell trophy cams’ that have enabled us to finally gather photographic evidence on the existence of these wonderful but highly elusive forest creatures.

The photographs were taken by digital cameras that are triggered by the heat and movement of an animal walking past them, such as the very large male (left). These cameras are even able to record animals at night using an infra-red flash that animals can’t see. For example, a young bull elephant was photographed feeding at 1.38 in the morning beside a stream (see photo below). Other animals to be photographed include a red river hog (or bush pig), a troop of red capped mangabey monkeys, a palm civet, several duikers, a squirrel, rat, a pair of reflective eyes belonging to a mysterious medium sized cat-like animal and a small predator dragging prey across the forest floor.

These images, taken over the course of just one month, demonstrate the rich wildlife found within the estimated 1,200 km2 of natural forests remaining within the OSO. However, as pictures of several people illegally entering the area show, much work still needs to be done to protect these animals from being wiped out by forest clearance and poaching.

RomanceBizarre: Global Boom In Sex Doll Sales (pictures) by TheRealMrStan(op): 12:07pm On Nov 29, 2014
While several businesses struggle, with some countries experiencing gloom over sharp drop in oil prices, an unusual industry is smiling to the bank.

Welcome to the intimacy gadget industry.

The inflatable doll factory in Ningbo, China, set up shop just five years ago but punters from across the globe are ringing them up every day to get their hands on one of them.

Now officials are hoping to take over the world with their vast collection.

Factory worker Lili Hsing said: “It’s taken our breath away, and not because we have to blow up the dolls.

“The speed this industry has developed is truly exceptional.

“When I first started here, we had one type of doll on offer, and only limited local interest.

“Now we have 10 dolls, including our premium high end brand, and calls from all over the world.”

There are so many of the £30 dolls that they litter the floors of the factory – and workers sometimes feel a bit creeped out by the display.

Shu Mai said: “Sometimes it’s a bit eerie having all these body parts lying around, a bit like a giant morgue.

“Of course I know they aren’t real.

“I assume the men who buy them know that too, although on our online sales we do give them names and the men request the doll by name.
“I think one of the reasons we have become so successful is the quality of the dolls we produce.

“They look good, are easily inflatable and don’t deflate too quickly.

“Our customers like that.”

Satisfaction in more ways than one…

SportsKeshi Got Carried Away By AFCON Success - Taribo West by TheRealMrStan(op): 9:11am On Nov 29, 2014
Taribo West claims Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi let success go to his head after he sensationally guided the Super Eagles to a third Africa Cup of Nations triumph in South Africa last year – and paid the price for “feeling very relaxed”.

Keshi, who captained the Eagles to victory at the Tunisia ’94 Africa Cup of Nations, capped off a successful year (2013) by helping Nigeria seal their place at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Following the South Africa 2013 success, the former Anderlecht defender became the second man in history to win the Africa Cup of Nations as a player and a coach after Mohamed El Gohary of Egypt.

And Taribo, who has expressed his disappointment with Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, maintains Keshi would have sustained success by helping the Eagles book their ticket to the continental football showpiece if he hadn’t abandoned his coaching philosophy.

The Atlanta ’96 Olympic Games gold medallist fired a broadside at the players for the country’s 2-2 draw against South Africa in their Equatorial Guinea 2015 Group A qualifier in Uyo on November 19. The result ended Nigeria’s hopes of reaching Equatorial Guinea, as Congo picked up the group’s second ticket along with South Africa, who had sealed qualification for the competition after beating Sudan 2-1 in Durban on November 15.

“Keshi let success go to his head and the result is that we won’t be defending our title in Equatorial Guinea next year,” Taribo, who represented Nigeria at the USA ’94 and France ’98 World Cups, told our correspondent on the telephone during the week.

“When he started, he was hungry for success, hence he went for the home-based players who were equally hungry for success, and he was not bothered by the criticism over his decisions.

“The home-based players played a major role in our winning the Africa Cup of Nations last year.

“But Keshi felt very relaxed after winning the tournament. He changed and began to rely on (some) foreign-based players who are not good enough for the national team.

“Keshi should have continued with his policy. He should have invited more home-based players for the qualifiers.”

The ex-Eagles defender said, “The majority of the players are not ready to play football. Against South Africa, there was no tenacity and aggressiveness in our play. There was no bite upfront.

“(Azubuike) Egwekwe let us down. He should take the blame for the first goal. He opened the right side to expose the goalkeeper (Vincent Enyeama). I didn’t expect such a mistake from a player who has been in the national team for some time.

“(Kenneth) Omeruo committed a defensive blunder that could cost a player his career. He’s a good defender but he should have been rested for the game because he was not fit.

“Juwon (Oshaniwa) is a strong player but he gets confused each time he receives the ball.

“We need better defenders in the national team. I believe we can find good defenders in the domestic league if we search for them.”

Taribo said, “Mikel is a good player but we need to get the best out of him. He needs competition in his role and we must look for a player who can keep him on his toes.”

EducationForeign Universities Feast On Nigerian Students by TheRealMrStan(op): 7:53am On Nov 29, 2014
AS incessant strikes and dearth of adequate facilities continue to bolster the number of Nigerian students seeking education abroad, seldom does a month go by without education fairs being held in one major Nigerian city or the other. It is during these unending fairs that recruitment officers and agencies of foreign schools, among other things, impress on prospective students, their parents and guardians that the United Kingdom is no longer the only destination for those seeking quality education. Increasingly, Canada, Russia, Ukraine, Australia, India and New Zealand, Ghana, Benin Republic and South Africa are among options that are popping up strongly.

Endless education fairs, shopping for students

During these education fairs, some fair-minded organisers counsel Nigerian students on the benefits and pitfalls of foreign education. They also lay bare, tiny details that would aid the prospective students make the best possible choices for study as well as help them to map out career paths for themselves after studies.

Organisers also use such fora to brandish the pedigree or educational capacity of the universities or countries they are fronting for, and why Nigerian youths should take more than a passing interest in them. This was the case when a three-city fair at the behest of Bruhas Educational Services Limited, in conjunction with the Indian High Commission in Nigeria and EdCil (India) Limited took place recently.

On November 8 and 11th, Eko Hotel and Suites and the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja respectively played host to hordes of prospective students, their parents, school teachers and administrators, who were there to have audience with representatives of about 50 UK universities and colleges.

The Lagos event was at the instance of the British Council, the UK cultural and educational outfit, which is saddled with such and sundry assignments.

While speaking on the rationale behind the fair, a project officer at the council, Sephora Imomoh said, “Studying in any part of the world is about option and not compulsion. But I think more than any other reason, for Nigerians travelling to UK to study is the need to bypass the perennial challenges associated with schools in the country. For instance, last year, Nigerian varsities went on strike for over five months and some students may really not be pleased with that and considering the fact that one of the greatest strength of UK institutions is the stable academic calendar, the students are certainly attracted.

HealthPolio Spread Confined To Only Two Nigerian States - Minister by TheRealMrStan(op): 3:45pm On Nov 28, 2014
The Supervising Minister of State for Health, Dr. Khaliru Alhassan, on Thursday said Federal Government had successfully confined the spread of wild polio virus to Kano and Yobe.

Alhassan made this known when he gave update on the success being recorded by government towards total eradication of polio in the country.
According to him, the virus is now confined to only five local government areas compared to the more generalised situation in the past.
“We have made tremendous progress, as you are aware that this year we have only recorded six cases against 51 the same time last year. So, this is a remarkable achievement and if we maintain the tempo we are confidence that we are going to interrupt the transmission.
“Presently, we have the problem in only two states, that is, Kano and Yobe states and also only in particular LGAs.
“This is giving us an impression why we need to work more; we have been able to localise these cases in one geo-political zone. It will make our job a lot easier”.

According to Alhassan, in the last one year, 96 per cent of the 774 local government areas have been polio free while 95per cent of the 36 states and FCT have been without polio in the last one year.

In his remarks, Vice-President Namadi Sambo said that with the impressive gains being recorded in the fight against the polio virus, the disease would soon be completely eradicated from the country.
He, therefore, reassured that government would continue to give political support, ensure sustained funding of the programame, procurement of the polio vaccines and support the introduction of other new vaccines.

Sambo said the government would also continue to work with the traditional, religious leaders, development partners and other community based organisations, to ensure polio-free society.

EventsWhat Is Black Friday? by TheRealMrStan(op): 9:58am On Nov 28, 2014
There was a time when adding the word 'Black' to any day of the week labeled such as a day of tragedy or sadness. All that has changed now, not only changed but commecialised. Many Nigerians have recently come to learn of 'Black Friday', not from funeral homes but from numerous retailers seeking to promote mouth-watering deals and bargains.

Here's Wikipedia's definition of Black Friday:
Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States (the fourth Thursday of November), often regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. In recent years, most major retailers have opened very early and offered promotional sales to kick off the holiday shopping season, similar to Boxing Day sales in many Commonwealth nations. Black Friday is not a holiday, but California and some other states observe "The Day After Thanksgiving" as a holiday for state government employees, sometimes in lieu of another federal holiday such as Columbus Day.

Many non-retail employees and schools have both Thanksgiving and the day after off, followed by a weekend, thereby increasing the number of potential shoppers. It has routinely been the busiest shopping day of the year since 2005, although news reports, which at that time were inaccurate, have described it as the busiest shopping day of the year for a much longer period of time.

The day's name originated in Philadelphia, where it originally was used to describe the heavy and disruptive pedestrian and vehicle traffic which would occur on the day after Thanksgiving. Use of the term started before 1961 and began to see broader use outside Philadelphia around 1975. Later an alternative explanation was made: that retailers traditionally operated at a financial loss ("in the red"wink from January through November, and "Black Friday" indicates the point at which retailers begin to turn a profit, or "in the black"

MAIDUGURI—No fewer than 30 suspected members of Boko Haram were killed Thursday by vigilante youth, popularly called Civilian JTF, when the sect members, armed with sophisticated weapons, attempted to lay siege to Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State.
Unconfirmed report also revealed that about five of the Civilian JTF members sustained minor injuries with no reported death during the encounter, which lasted about three hours.

Kareto, a community in Mobbar Local Government Area and home town of former governor, Mohammed Goni, was also attacked.
Gubio is 87 kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital, while Mobbar, which borders Niger Republic, is 187 kilometres away.
Mobbar, according to sources, was under the control of Boko Haram after they invaded the area last Monday, leaving several people dead, with thousands of residents displaced.

Sources said the gunmen, using Hilux vehicles and motorcycles and armed with AK-47 rifles, improvised explosive devices, IEDs, and petrol bombs (Molotov Cocktail), were sighted at Kareto by some good Samaritans.
The youths from Gubio and Kateto were alerted. They mobilized and confronted the sect, killing 30 of them, while several others escaped into the bush with severe injuries.

Confirming the killing of the sect members by youth vigilante group, spokesman of Borno Elders Forum, Engineer Bulama Gubio, said: “There was huge success as 30 members of Boko Haram, who attempted to overrun Kareto, Gubio and other surrounding communities were killed by our youths.

“The areas are now calm as normal activities have since returned."

The Kaduna State has witnessed its first ever airlift of Christian pilgrims from the state to Israel to perform holy pilgrimage.

The airlift was witnessed by the state Governor, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, who led other top officials of the State Government to bid the intending pilgrims farewell.

Speaking at the farewell ceremony, the Governor said the present administration in the state had increased the number of Christian pilgrims being sponsored by the state from 468 in 2013 to 567 in 2014, representing a 19% increase.

He said the state Government was committed to ensuring that all sections of the state were treated fairly, adding that “we are determined to improve the well being of our people at all times and we shall remain unbiased in providing support to the people.”

The governor also cautioned the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the country while in the Holy Land saying “you must not indulge in any action capable of tarnishing the image of Kaduna State and Nigeria.
“I urge you to use the period of the holy pilgrimage to pray for peace in the country, especially as we approach the 2015 general elections.”

Governor Yero congratulated the pilgrims for the opportunity to embark on the divine assignment and prayed for their safe return from Israel at the end of the pilgrimage.

Also speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission, Mr. John Kennedy Opara praised Governor Yero for his support to the Christian pilgrimage exercise in Kaduna State.

FoodNAFDAC Workers Suspend Strike by TheRealMrStan(op): 5:10pm On Nov 27, 2014
Striking workers of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Thursday suspended their over two weeks old strike.

They embarked on an indefinite strike over salary structure and non-payment of productivity allowance, among other issues.
The striking workers under the aegis of Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) said the development would pave the way for a three-man committee set up by the Federal Government to look into the salary issues.

The Chairman of the Federal Area Council (MHHWU) Comrade Steven Ibe, said the workers would resume work on Monday.
Ibe said the strike is suspended to give the three-man committee room to investigate the issue and come up with appropriate salary structure.
He said the workers would go back to strike if the government’s inaugurated committees do not meet the workers’ demands.

HealthAljazeera Undercover Investigation Exposes Fake Doctors In Nigeria (video) by TheRealMrStan(op):
Take a drive though any city or large town in Nigeria and the chances are you will come across numerous privately owned health clinics, doctor's surgeries and hospitals.

In one remarkable sting, the Africa Investigates team rented a house and invited local quacks to come and do 'home visits'. The 'patient' was again Rosemary, who – with the help of a qualified medic – had learned some symptoms that any genuine doctor would immediately recognise as indications of heart disease. Instead, one after another, the 'quacks' turned up and after cursory examinations wrongly claimed that Rosemary was suffering from typhoid and malaria (two commonly cited conditions) for which she need expensive drugs that only they could prescribe.

What the fake doctors did not know was that the house was rigged with secret closed circuit cameras and that their every move was being scrutinised by a genuine medical practitioner. The doctor was local to the area and asked to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation, but he was unequivocal in his condemnation of the fakes.

The team took this this and other evidence to Dr Alfred Ebiakofa, a senior medical officer working for the Nigerian Ministry of Health. He had always lacked the resources and proof to go after fake doctors but now was able to act. He called in the police to work with Anas who, as the investigation heads to a climax, devised a dramatic scheme to trap one of Nigeria's most notorious quacks in the act.

Rapper, Ruggedman has emphatically declared himself to be the first Nigerian artiste to make financial returns from rapping.

The ace entertainer in a recent interview with NET, also spoke on his relationship with the media, and how it has helped him remain relevant in the industry since his emergence.

When asked about making money from music, he said: “Well, let me clear the first by saying music is paying me because everything I have made has been from music and a few other things but mainly it’s been music.”

“Ruggedman is the first Nigerian rap artiste to actually make money off rap music and is still making money, and I have an artiste under my label who is also doing well and he’s the next best thing. Yes, music has paid me and is still paying me.”

Ruggedy Baba, as he’s fondly called, while speaking on his media romance, stated: “The first thing is the fact that I believe in myself, my creativity, my press and I believe in God. Basically it will get to a stage where it won’t be about your talent anymore but your PR; it plays a very big part.”

“I see the Press and Media as my friend; I am one of the first Nigerian artistes ever to openly acknowledge the press. I remember about 7 years ago, I wore a shirt to a press conference that had almost all Newspapers names, TV and Radio stations inscribed on it,” he added.

SportsLatest FIFA Ranking: Nigeria Retains 42nd Position. by TheRealMrStan(op): 2:42pm On Nov 27, 2014
FIFA released its world ranking for the month of November early today and Nigeria’s Super Eagles have neither risen nor moved down the ranking, but remain number 42, which they were last month.

In the month under review, the Eagles failed to make it to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Equatorial Guinea in January after Stephen Keshi’s led Eagles went to Congo to beat the Red Devils 2-0 and drew 2-2 against South Africa in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Bafana Bafana of South Africa and Congo, however, moved up six and three positions as they are now on 51 and 59 in the world respectively. Algeria retain their number one position in Africa, but went down three places to 18 in the world. Tunisia second (22), Ivory Coast third (24), Senegal fourth (35), Ghana fifth (38), Guinea sixth (38), Cape Verde Islands seventh (39) and Cameroon eighth (41) behind Nigeria ninth in Africa.

The November edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking reveals very little change in the top ten, with the top seven positions unaltered from last month and world champions Germany still out in front ahead of Argentina and Colombia. France, however, are now in joint seventh place together with Portugal (7th, up 2). In the top 20, England (13th, up 7), Romania (15th, up 6) and Czech Republic (17th, up 5) have all made good progress.
