There are some things I want to make clear, the percentage of Urhobo indigens in Warri is very small, very very small, Warri is owned by the Itsekiris and the Ijaws. Also, in terms of population, Delta Igbos are number one, except you want to add Isoko as part of Urhobo.

My mum is an Isoko woman and most of my friends are Isoko as well and I can tell you with all confidence, Isoko people do not agree that they are part of Urhobo, they prefer to be identified as Isoko and not Urhobo. If you call them Urhobo they'll argue with you.

The Urhobos are loud and generally like to claim ownership, they feel like they are superior to other ethnic groups in the state, they feel like they own the state eventhough they don't really have that much power.

Have you been back since you left? I've found that my views and opinions have changed somewhat over the years with time and have also been influenced to some extent by the different growing stages of my family. As much as I'm irritated by somethings in Nigeria, I feel the pull to go back primarily because I miss the deep rooted culture in contrast to a country like the U.S. which just feels so sterile. I am fortunate enough to be able to live the best of both worlds by earning a living in the Western world that enables me to visit Nigeria to experience my people and culture while being shielded from the daily frustrations that exist there today.
