charleff512: But Why Was The Nigerian Army Economical With The Truth About The Number Of Casualties? baffles me too, but in a war you must never give the e enemy the pleasure of counting and rejoicing over your losses in order for you not to assist them in morale boosting and grow their confidence to such destructive levels cos you will be the biggest casualty of such. downplaying their successes puts them under pressure to re-strategize and weakens their morale which will be to the advantage of the armed forces |

we don't like buhari and APC cos of their deception, but we need to all support the Nigerian armed forces in this war, trust me its not easy, every administration always tend to politicize the armed forces in order to assert certain levels of control on them, in the course of their duty they've had to contend with so many forces and distractions outside the theater and this is really demotivating, they need all the motivation and goodwill from the masses in order to passionately carry out their constitutional duties cos if they lose this war then the enemies will have a field day in their acts of evil and trust me when I say they will spread across borders and into your homes. Before you condemn them ask yourself if you've ever gathered the courage to lay down your life for any course whose benefit will be ultimately felt by others not related to you.

Politics › ‘money Jonathan Gave Metuh Was Not From Gov’t Coffers’ – Witness by theshadyexpress(op): 10:40pm On Nov 15, 2016 |
A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday heard how PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, spent N171 million to launder ex- President Goodluck Jonathan’s image ahead of the 2015 elections. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Metuh is standing trial on allegation of embezzling N400 million. In his testimony before Justice Okon Abang, Richard Ihediwa, the fifth defence witness, told the court that Metuh spent N171 million on the committee for the image laundering exercise. Ihediwa said N140 million was spent on various groups coordinated by aides to the former President while N31 million was disbursed for advertorials in several newspapers. “Various aides to former president helped to coordinate groups that worked across the country with regards to boosting his image towards the 2015 Presidential Election. “There were many aides to Jonathan who coordinated those groups and they belonged mostly to the media and publicity, strategy, research and documentation departments. “In the light of this, Metuh made a lot of payments to these groups coordinated by Presidential Aides and they received N140 million,” he said. He, however, said the payments were made in line with Jonathan’s directives, adding that Metuh never used discretionary powers to disburse the funds. “There was also a bill of N31 million for advertorial for the media, using representatives of media houses reporting the beat. “Metuh made the payment through me. I received the payment through my Access Bank account and consequently paid all the media houses. “Some payments were made through transfers while others were made in cash,” the witness said. Ihediwa said the issue of image laundering for the former president was raised at the meeting of PDP stakeholders and Metuh was assigned the responsibility. “The issue of his image was very important to him because of that election. So, the major mandate given to the team led by Metuh was to find ways to improve on Jonathan’s standing using the media. “The fact is that the fund spent was not taken from government treasury as alleged. “I am aware funds were raised and domiciled with the former president. At that time, the Fund Raising Committee headed by Professor Jerry Gana had started working and they held a fundraising dinner,” he said. The presiding judge however, adjourned the case till Nov. 16 for continuation. Metuh, who is facing a seven-count charge, was also accused of an illegal 200,000 US dollars transaction. Politics › Tam David-West To Soyinka: Cut Your Green Card, Keep To Your Word by theshadyexpress(op): 1:41pm On Nov 14, 2016 |
Following the election of Donald Trump as President-elect of the United States, former Nigerian Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Prof Tam David-West, has called on Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, to live up to his threat of tearing up his United States Green Card should the Republican candidate win.
In an interview in Ibadan, David-West, describing Soyinka as a great and honourable man, said should the scholar fail to follow through on his very public threat and return to Nigeria, he would prove to be dishonourable.
But he dismissed the insinuation that Soyinka might go to jail if he cut his US green card, saying “Somebody said if Wole Soyinka cuts his green card, he (Soyinka) will go to jail. That is not true. He will not go to jail. The green card is his own personal property given to him by the United States Government.”
Soyinka, a scholar-in-residence at the Institute of American Affairs, New York University, was quoted to have said prior to the US presidential election of November 8, while addressing Oxford students, that he would tear up his green card and leave the US if Trump won the poll.
“If in the unlikely event he (Trump) does win, the first thing he will do is to say all green card holders must reapply to come back into the US. We’ll, I’m not waiting for that. The moment they announce his victory, I will cut my green card myself and start packing up,” Soyinka was quoted as saying.
Donald J. Trump had defeated the Democrat candidate, Hillary R. Clinton, in a stunning upset, and will take office as the 45th President of the US on January 2017.
The billionaire property tycoon defeated Clinton, a former Secretary of State and First Lady, with 306 votes to her 232 votes at the electoral college.
David-West, who noted that he was worried when Soyinka threatened to cut his green card, said “there was no need for him to have said that. If he cuts his green card, he will hurt himself not the United States. It because of the green card he works in the US.
“The green card entitles him to work in the US. Without the green card, he cannot have a paid job in the US. It is because of the green card that he has a paid job in America, which translates to thousands of dollars for him; by conversion, it is millions of naira.”
David-West further took a swipe at Soyinka for changing his tune after Trump had been declared President-elect.
When Soyinka was asked when he would destroy his green card after the election, he was quoted to have said: “Why don’t we wait until Trump actually takes office? I am just going about my normal commitments. Let’s put it that way for now.”
To which David-West responded: “Now, he has changed his tone. When I read it, I was very upset. He is toying with the intelligence of Nigerians. He said (he’d destroy his green card) if Trump is elected President. The moment Hillary Clinton conceded defeat, Trump is elected. Immediately, Soyinka should have come back to Nigeria.
“I know Wole Soyinka is a honourable man. I am waiting for him to cut his green card and return to Nigeria honourably. If he does not come back, he is very dishonourable. He should keep to his words. It was not necessary for him to make that statement at all.
“In the first instance, he never said he would cut his green card when Donald Trump takes office. He said if he is elected President. So, Soyinka should honourably cut his card and honourably return to Nigeria.”
David-West further stated that Trump would not maltreat the blacks in the US, adding that the Trump administration would translate to robust international relationships. https://www.today.ng/news/nigeria/214694/word-cut-green-card-david-west-tells-soyinka

Where are the APC goons that were celebrating the arrest of militants by JTF and were disproving that they weren't militants.please come and read this your govts show of shame ooooh WARRI- THE five pipeline surveillance workers seized by the Joint Task Force, JTF, in the Niger Delta, last Friday, in connection with the bombing a Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL, pipeline at Makaraba community, Gbaramatu clan, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, have been released.
A security source said that they released them on Wednesday evening. Released were Samuel Emiko and Alfred Timedi, ( Itsekiri) and Isaac Edinde, Henry Arogboritse and Kelvin Mordi (Ijaw), arrested by soldiers while on surveillance duty for a contractor to Chevron.
Ijaw leader, Chief Godspower Gbenekama, who is among the leaders that raised dust over the arrest confirmed, said, “Yes, I am aware that they released them on Wednesday night, I want to thank you people in the media for crying out for us.”
“The released workers were asked to report next Wednesday,” a security source, who also confirmed their release, told our reporter. He said: “The 19th Battalion, Nigerian Army, Koko, handed them over to the Delta State Police Command, Asaba, from where they moved them to Bayelsa State and released them on Wednesday.” To avoid backlash against the company following a 72-hour ultimatum by its seven Gbaramatu-Ijaw host communities, top officials of Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL, which facilitated their freedom, met with their families, Wednesday, in Warri, and assured them that the company was handling the matter.

Politics › Buhari’s Anti-corruption War Has Loopholes – Al-mustapha by theshadyexpress(op): 11:52am On May 09, 2016 |
Former chief security officer (CSO) to late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha has criticised the anti-corruption project of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration saying that it leaves much to be seen, The Sun reports.
Al-Mustapha who spoke to journalist in Abuja at the after an award as the Grand Commandant of the Rescue And Guard Response Initiative (RAGRI) noted also that the challenge of insurgency in the country calls for more retrospection to resolve the security challenges.
Mustapha who was one of the 21 persons honoured by the Rescue and Guard Response Initiative said at the moment the entire effort at fighting corruption is limited to only financial aspect of the Nigerian life as against the various other forms of corruption that should be combated alongside.
According to the intelligence officer, who said he was speaking as a citizen of Nigeria, he said the whole effort may only fetch the federal government a little success whilst it put in so much resources and energy to do the fight corruption it is working at nothing as the plans required for success in but lacking.
“Fundamentally before you fight corruption, there are vices you must consider. These should be at the planning stage.
“We are handling only one aspect of corruption. Remember there is corruption in every sphere and affairs of our lives.
“We are talking of financial corruption if that is the war; there are many measures to take. That is what I hope to see first on the ground before confronting corruption because you can actually work if you don’t plan it, you will be fetching little indeed you are sweating doing Nothing,” Al- Mustapha stated.
He pointed out that combating insurgency in the country would require the harvest of the youth, whose brains and minds must be moulded towards gainful ventures such as the Rescue And Guard Response Initiative and even religious organisation for profit to community and society as the youth comprised the ready army for such destructive ventures.
He pointed out that whilst the country can boast of its various security and para-military institution, the role of a body such as RAGRI which is strictly focused at rescue of Nigerians from precarious situation was indeed commendable.
He argued that no security agency is big enough to secure Nigeria but the activities of such institution would further reduce their operational distractions and strengthen their capacity in their respective areas of expertise for the good of country.
His words: “An NGO whose background is on an initiative of some Nigerians to complement the existing civil structure for restoration of peace confidence and order.
“First of all today, the trend is that of insurgency permeating layers of comity of nations. The wise thing to do in defence of any country is to look inwards and identify the factors militating and promoting insurgency.
“In containing them, you would require civil forces like this that would provide at the primary level. Identification of threats, analysing of threats and disseminating same to bigger bodies that are there to control and manage the territorial integrity of the nation.
“The wisest thing to do is to first contain them, and look at security at all levels and that is why I particularly believe that they should be supported to be equipped enough so that they will be able to cover Nigeria”
He added that “From the issue of intelligence collections, speedy dissemination, speedy management, ensure physical security and containment of local threats, and there is no single agency in Nigeria, today, that can single handedly say that they are big enough to cover our territory. So the gap that exist must be covered by agencies such as this one.
So there must exist bodies such as this one’s so that the bigger bodies can stand, it’s is a chain.
“One of the factors militating into insurgency is actually that we have the fighting force. The brain, the mind there to be moulded are the youth
“All am asking is that the youth should look inwards and look at the positive activities of these bodies and even religious ones. So that they can look at the future with positive thinking and hope and services all for our common good.”
Al Mustapha said that he is ready to offer the country advice that can help the government check mate the present spate of killings being carried out by the herdsmen but would prefer to offer the information to the appropriate authorities whom he hope would use them for the good of the Nation
“There are some secret which I would prefer to channel to those concerned. If they take it, it is for the common good of the country.”
Addressing the guests earlier, the National President and Commander General of the Rescue and Guard Response Initiative (RAGRI) Oloba Gbenga, the corps’ mandate is strictly to offer rescue services to trapped and stranded Nigerians in all situation that required physical skills and innovation.
His words: “As it is in Nigeria today we do not have rescue operation, it might be that some organisation have rescue as a department, it does not serve the purpose. But when you have a full fledge agency of government saddled with the responsibility to rescue Nigerians stranded or being victims of attacks, lost and left wondering it serves the greater purpose as people know where to reach out to for help.” http://www.signalng.com/buharis-anti-corruption-war-not-effective-al-mustapha/

I always knw Reno is an idiot...lol
The amount you allocated in a fiscal yr may not be the overall amount you will spend.
Supplementary budget, anyone?
PMB said they allocated just 18billion..that was true
But they spent 90 billion and we all know why that amount shot up that much...
The sudden passage of supplementary budged just for the purpose of embezzling for election caused that...
Capital expenditures during Jonathan era has always been 13%!!!
You may download the shameful budget here

Rolings: Though you made points but your opening paragraph protrays you as someone with an axe to grind in other words you sound like a sore loser . Let me ask if you had 16 years and was not able to do all you listed then would you have been proud of your party? The point is APC can not be compared with PDP just yet they need to prove themselves and that can't be done in just 1 year for Goodness sake that's why they have at least 4 years. I don't know where you are or how old you were in 1999 but I can tell you there was great sufferings during the first few years of PDP reign greater than we are feeling now but most Nigerians still kept faith up till now . i sound like a sore loser? guess thats your own way of exhibiting comic relief cos if read through the thread you'll notice the OP that started the thread was an APC zombie and his intentions was to ridicule the past regime in favour of the present so pls get you facts right as for the sufferings under PDP in 1999 compared to an APC in 2016 it is still very debatable because i can tell you authoritatively that the military handed over a dead economy to the civilian regime check the stats yourself but reverse was the case in 2015 cos PDP handed over a booming economy to the APC in 2015 pls check your stats too if anybody is comparing the 1yr old APC regime to a 16yr old PDP regime ,it is the APC zombies cos they keep referring us back to the PDP era anytime they are been criticized but im yet to see how PDP is the cause of APC inability forge a clear economic plan |

Even his wife was part of the vultures im happy youve subtly accepted that GEJ had a plan, but like a typical APC supporter you'll always find an excuse ridicule him, now if with all the vultures around him he was able to achieve that much then why is Nigeria retrogressing under the saintly regime? its just a matter of time before GEJ will be vindicated, im beginning to like his silence in the face false accusation and massive smear campaigns cos that indeed has more than ever proven to be the answer for .......... |

LadyExcellency: Vision 20-20
PDP took over government in 1999 when Nigeria was 94th highest Economy in the World and left in 26th in 2015.
The vision is realizable within the next five years.
PDP eradicated polio, ICT penetration from 0.2% to over 60%, and a new contributory pension scheme now with trillions of Naira in pension fund
The capitalization of the Nigerian Stock Exchange grew from less than N1 trillion to N12 trillion as at handover.
Jonathan/PDP reduced Poverty by half Jonathan left 12000Mw power capacity. Jonathan's agricultural policies were fruitful. may i also add that that 1.the GEJ government produced the highest new entry to the middle class in Nigerian history 2. doubled Nigeria's GDP 3. reduced by half Nigeria's food import bill 4. embarked on the construction of the most expensive power plants in Nigeria e.g mambilla9$6bn) and zungeru($780m) with clear funding plans 5. built from scratch and completed 10 new power plants 6. Added an additional 25000km of good roads to an all time low of 5000km i can continue but lemme stop here pls APC supporters go and advice your govt to start work time is running out |

obailala: Educating the naysayers is mostly a waste of time cos they derive their pleasure mainly from naysaying.
Dubious foreign exploiters want Nigeria to devalue its currency massively so they can make killer profits. Refusal to do this has led these foreign exploiters to pull out their funds from the Nigerian economy in order to arm twist, punish and frustrate the FG into devaluation; they keep using the 'sweet coated' excuse of 'lack of economic policy direction' to deceive the gullible. But the fact remains that the only economic policy these exploiters want to see is a devalued Naira, hence the continuous singing that the govt has 'no economic policy.'
"Economic Policy = Devaluation" i keep asking you to prove nay sayers wrong, pls provide us the government economic document cos i can remember PDP having a vision 20-20-20 document and jonathan breaking it down further with a transformation document, under yar'adua it was the 7-point agenda pls show us buhari's economic document |
