concerning farming situated in a residential area,for how long shall we continue to move into the forest.I think its high time we looked into what the problem with poultry in the residential area is and the way forward.

Majorly odour is the problem why poultry /livestock farms are not located in a residential area .Even with the rate at which urban is fastly developing ,we still need urban farming where we will be able to get urban people with fresh produce like chickens,eggs and vegetables.

The only way out if to control the waste management .Making the waste more attractive and odour free.

Noise is another thing ,the decibel of sound in a poultry farm depends on the number of chickens available in the farm.We should be able to reduce the decibel to the minimum level.If this and other factors can be put in place our chicken we live better in residential area.

One thing I have noticed about people living close to poultry farms is that they dont smell with their nose but they smell with their eyes.So make the environment clean .make the view enticing .

I will be working on what we can do to make us enjoy our farms for years without the community/ies grumbling.I will keep the house updated.

Switching to the 4-Hour Chart, there's a pin-bar rejecting that support zone again. Where to enter is the question on my heart now. To enter at market open which would require lesser stop loss (if there are no gap things) or to wait for price to close above the open of Thursday's candle? (This will cost a higher stop loss as it should be under the pink support/channel line). I noticed I've entered wrongly on a couple of nice market biases.

The EUR/USD pair did very little during the session on Friday, but what’s interesting is that we formed a neutral candle just underneath the 1.34 handle. Remember, we have been talking about how 1.34 is significant in this pair, and daddy could determine whether or not the pair breaks out to the upside. That being said, we feel that the next couple of sessions will be very important to the future of the Euro.

You have to keep in mind that the European Union has just come out of recession, and as a result it makes sense of the Euro would appreciate. However, most of the world is focusing on the Federal Reserve and whether or not it will taper off of quantitative easing. A lot of people in the marketplace believe that the Federal Reserve will try to taper off of quantitative easing during the month of September or October, and as a result it has the Dollar somewhat bid up. However, we feel that this market more than likely wants to go higher, so it will find an excuse at this point in time.

On a daily close above the 1.34 level, we believe that this market will first try to hit the 1.35 handle, which of course is a large psychologically significant number. Beyond that, we would expect the 1.40 and possibly even higher. This breakout would be significant enough that we could see follow-through four months, if not years. However, it has to be accompanied by the Federal Reserve stating that they will not taper off of quantitative easing, which has been somewhat priced into the marketplace in various commodities.

Going forward, we think that the next couple of weeks will be vital for the future of this pair, but keep in mind that a lot of knee-jerk reactions can happen between now and the middle of September. The Federal Reserve should continue to be the focus of the marketplace, so headlines of course will ruffle the feathers of traders around the world. Beyond that though, we think that the liquidity issues at this point in time will more than likely make trading very difficult.

I noticed some folks here saying they gave their birds IO Vaccine and some newbies too asking about IO Vaccine. IO is not a vaccine, it is a Route of vaccine administration. Lemme give you the various types;
1. Intra Ocular (IO) -through the eyes, i.e eye drop. Check dictionary, ocular means eye
2. Intra Muscular (IM)- through the muscle, usually thigh muscle, i.e Injection
3. Sub-Cutaneous (SC) - under the skin, usually neck area or wing web
4. Through drinking water
5. Spraying

There are others but these are the basic.

Usually when people say they gave their birds IO on the first day, what they are reffering to is Marek's disease which is usually administered through eye drop. Marek's disease is the vaccine. Intra Ocular (IO) is the route. If you go to the drugs store, ask for Marek, not IO! But usually there's no need. All standard hatcheries do Marek vaccination immediately after hatching before sales. But please ask them to confirm if they did it, if not, you do it yourself. Last time I went to Avians, it was done in my presence, I paid. In Ofn, Igboora, you dont pay, it's free.

obnelly: The first three months of chicken(layers) is very paramount to their laying cycle .The right spacing,heating system,ammonia build up in the pen,depth of wood shavings,feeding,water consumption and lightning plus vaccination.Most breeder dont care about this, all they are after is to feed irregular feed , inadequate water, poor spacing ,lightning to this chicken after 3months you pick them as point of lay and you start facing the headache when you suppose to start making your money gradually.
If you have 8 eggs the next day it should increase to 10 thereafter to 13 eggs.On no condition should you stay on 8eggs for more than a week except if those chicken are not hatched the same day or week.I hope you get my gist.If all things being equal you should have you eggs flowing gradually till you hit 88-90%.The highest you can have is 90 -98% you cant have 100% production.If its still 88% you arent doing bad.

What's the ideal photoperiod you administer to your layers, the natural 12hrs daylight or do you light up your pens at night to increase photoperiod?
