Francis, go back 2 d education section where yuh belong. That a bunch of women in their THIRTIES continually frolick with an 18-year old BOY who: 1. Still depends on his parents for subsistence. 2. Has little or zilch experience about REAL male-female courting/amorous interactions. 3.Is still limited by the protective, canopied horizon of being a 'mummy's boy' and 4.Is yet to gain admission into a university (which might have been a tenable template for his assertions 'cause it is a microcosm and a pot pouri of the larger society) just shows how desperate these women are to seek validation.
I'm active on Chimamanda Adichie's Facebook page and I dare assert that most of us (the people kicking against feminism) are whites and African-Americans. We Nigerians there aren't as vicious in our attacks as those guys are and the women there never really counter with good points.
None of these Nairaland females can post links to feminists on Adichie's page winning arguments but I can post countless of the opposite.
Until that teenage boy grows up, maintains a relationship for years and starts earning his own money would he be deem worthy of the attention he craves. |

FriedPlantain: Taah, the supposed Prank played by Da Vinci with the Monalisa painting is nothing but a myth. You lot just see it as a Prank because that is what you want to see and not necessarily what it really is. The main reason that painting is still a mystery to everyone is because of the weird and funny smirk on the lady in the painting's face. Nothing else! Did Da Vinci ever mention the name of the suppose "woman" who modelled for him?
How come he skipped mentioning the person who inspired Monalisa yet he mentioned others?

FriedPlantain: Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol opens with a bold word: FACT. "All rituals, science, artwork, and monuments in this novel are real", it says.
The Da Vinci Code, his previous bestseller, began in a similar fashion. "All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents, and secret rituals in this novel are accurate"
Looks like Dan Brown doesn't share similar sentiment with you.
"All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents, and secret rituals in this novel are accurate"
His description of the architecture, artwork and rituals have never been questioned. He weaves his stories around them.
Did you know Dan Brown spent two months in Turkey to study the architectural descriptions in his book 'Inferno'?
Provide links disproving his descriptions. |

FriedPlantain: I already did.
Moreover, there is no evidence anywhere to validate your claim that Da Vinci was really bisexual back then, if you ask me, I would day it is nothing but a myth. One of the many gimmicks all these artistes pull to make their work more controversial and popular as well. Have you ever seen the Van Gogh 'missing ear' painting and have you by chance heard the contrroversies surrounding it?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_life_of_Leonardo_da_Vinci Check the link. He was charged for SODOMY and he wrote pages about his affection for his "beautiful" male apprentice. He hated anything that would lead to procreation but he loved sex. Only women can get pregnant and there were no contraceptives then.

FriedPlantain: Error no 1 - Dan Brown claimed Leonardo Da Vinci painted Mary Magdalene sitting next to Jesus Christ in his 'last supper' work.
One of Dan Brown's proofs is that John looks so feminine, but John is often portrayed in such a way in art because he was young. First of, it is an open secret that Da Vinci was a bisexual. Not surprising 'cause he resided in Florence - the "City of Sin".
Have you seen the Monalisa? We both know the homosexual pranks he played with it.
Go to any cathedral and look at the stained-glass images of John. Just as you can identify Peter because he is holding keys, and you can tell Andrew because he is holding a Cross like an X (the kind on which He was crucified), so you can tell John by his feminine looks. But suppose it were the case that Leonardo intentionally painted Mary Magdalene next to Jesus instead of John, because Jesus and Mary were allegedly married, and Leonardo was in on the secret, then where is the "beloved disciple" John? He is not in the picture. Where is he? Under the table? Do you also realize that the Mary in the picture wore men's cloth yet she was a woman?
Da Vinci portrayed the his bisexual inclinations by portraying John and Mary as fused in one just like he did with the Monalisa painting which is a man in a woman's body.
Have you heard of the Janus society in that century where women lived as men and bisexuality was the norm?

FriedPlantain: Nope I'm no Catholic. His conspiracies are not real and his books are filled junks sold to the unsuspecting public as fiction mixed with facts and researches. Detailing all the errors, misinterpretations, deceptions, distortions, and outright falsehoods in his books make one wonder whether Brown's manuscript ever undergi editorial scrutiny or fact-checking at any point.
Sorry dude, I know you are big far of Brown but that guy isn't half as good as you guys think.
Or do you want me to start listing some of his really outrageous errors out?
If you can, by all means, yes.

FriedPlantain: Dan Brown 's attempt to harmonize academic, research and fiction in his works have left his books riddled with numerous Lies and errors. The nigga is also a one way traffic kinda writer, I can close my eyes and predict half the words to expect in every page of his book I can lay my hands on. He does conspiracies which are deliberately a little exaggerated.
His conspiracies are real. From te Opus Dei to his use of cryptology.

Ishilove: Dan Brown is really good, but don't forget that his books are kinda academic so it doesn't really appeal to everyone. I still maintain that King and Koontz remain among the best in their genre. Dan Brown blends paranormal and mystery. It's not his fault that many readers do not care to arm himself with the requisite knowledge before reading his books.
His books are amongst the top twenty most sold-out novels in the last fifty years in the UK and US which says a lot about his acceptance.
There are few writers that can compress a story in a twenty-four-hour timelength and it's one of the reasons we adore his skills.

Ishilove: I don't have a particular Christie favourite. All her books are wonderful!
You can try The Miss Marple Series, as well as those featuring Hercule Poirot, but all in all, the one that stands out is one about a lady who was always threatening to kill her husband because the man was a philandering artist. When unfortunately the man is murdered by poison, she is the first and only suspect. She is jailed, and dies in prison.
Twenty years later, her daughter hires Hercules Poirot, the investigator with a cone shaped head (lol) to clear her mother's name and it is later proved that the woman was innocent. The end was smashing! Totally unexpected!
I can't remember the name of this particular Christie novel (I was in my early teens when I read it) but it stands out in my memory.
I have so many favourite King novels, but The Shining, The Bodysnatchers (he watched her come out of the vehicle. Oh look, here comes Super Biitch, faster than a speeding hate mail, able to leap over cringing family members in a single bound ) and The Dreamcatcher are my all time favourites.
Gosh!! Stephen King is THE KING
For Koontz, 'Intensity' is my best of the best. The novel was so...intense... So psychedelic, so frigging deep. Even Koontz himself admitted that writing the book emotionally wrung him out because of the intensity of the novel.
My favourite line in the novel is: ...she squeezed her butt tight, tighter than a politician's fist around a cash bribe...
After reading the book once, and again, and again, I couldn't go further because it always left me feeling weak inside.
That, my friend, is a classical work of art. That is the kind of creation most writers can only dream of
The present generation of American writers are learners compared to these men That's an insult to Dan Brown. |
