IamMichael: Religious Ignorance Kills: Landon Spradlin, a Virginia pastor who claimed the “mass hysteria” around the coronavirus pandemic was part of a media plot against Trump, has died from the virus. Landon Spradlin’s family never got to say goodbye.
The 66-year-old father and husband from Virginia died due to complications from COVID-19 on Wednesday morning in North Carolina. While on the way home from a mission trip, Spradlin collapsed and was taken to a hospital in Concord, North Carolina. He was eventually put on a ventilator as his condition worsened.
According to reports, Spradlin, a 66-year-old Christian “musical evangelist,” fell ill while on a missionary trip to New Orleans with his wife.
Friendly Atheist reports Spaldrin went to New Orleans to “wash it from its Sin and debauchery.”
On his Facebook page Spradlin shared a misleading meme attempting to minimize COVID-19, comparing the virus to the swine flu, and suggesting that the response to the coronavirus pandemic was media created “mass hysteria” to damage Trump.
Spradlin also shared a post from a pastor claiming that a missionary in South Africa “protected” himself from the bubonic plague with the “Spirit of God.” A quote from the post reads:

I tell you the truth. Any God who makes me such promises will be taken to the bottom of a river and drowned after I bash its silly head in for thinking I could be so gullible! And if I believed such promises without first understanding, I myself will take buda to the bottom of the river and bash buda's head in and drown buda for being so gullible and stupid!

There is hope for Nigerians, Sourcerer! I am unfortunately stuck where I am at the moment due to something that caught me in Nigeria, but I talk on here with Nigerians in Nigeria, and I have lots of relatives and friends and acquitances in Nigeria, and a whole town whom I constantly discuss and reason with too, and while many do say "there is a demon in buda", gradually, like with you, some understanding occurs, and some change their points of view, like you are going to in due time. What I want is to understand the sort of atheist you are, since the word has had many meanings thru the years. Socrates did not believe in the gods of his community and so was an atheist, for instance. And Jesus Christ was crucified for his atheism of not believing as his community expected him to.
