The problem is there are many more of you village Ibos than there are enlightened Ibos.

Like I said, A yoruba King will sell you his land with pleasure because he is enlightened enough to know you cant carry the land away with you and you cant overthrow him in his own land, he knows if you invest in his area his people will benefit, small minded Ibos like yourself will not sell your land to anybody but Ibos, so you get no investment, no investment means no jobs, your people suffer, they migrate to other lands and in the process develop other lands and then you shout marginalization.

Like i said carry on with your ignorance, if grandstanding, bragging and the crass I better my neighbor display of sudden wealth counted for anything , you guys wouldn't be where you are with all your enterprise and resourcefullness. Stop think and engage your brains, it's not about who shouts the most, who can abuse the most but actually making progress and I can tell you people like you have harmed the Ibo cause. You are the ones shooting yourselves in the foot. You need friends not enemies.

Do you know this contract was signed in 2011 under the gej presidency? Are u telling Nigerians that GEJ was dumb enough to sanction such a big contract to Tinubu his arch enemy?

Meanwhile, see the owners of Systemspecs who developed Remita.

I see no wrongdoing on the part of lawyers being paid fees from the proceeds of settlement they helped to broker.

What should be checked is if the lawyers took more than their agreed percentages or if the FG officials chopped the balance of the settlement money.

Lawyers are into the profession to make money as long as they don't take more than what they're due.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s Crude Oil Production Up By 252,800bpd by theV0ice: 6:10pm On Feb 12, 2016
Adminisher:
It takes a follower of the clueless Goodluck Jonathan to believe that Nigeria's oil production is above selling price. A young impressionable mind that believed Railway revamp, Power sector revamp and Infrastructure revamp will also believe that falsehood. The cost of production is far far below what is quoted. Apart from that Nigerian oil is doldrums at a premium any way.

I spent two and a half decades in Nigeria's oil industry. The real cost of production used to be the lowest I'm the world and shot up briefly only due to security issues in 2011 to 2013 but never up to even MENA countries production costs. Most of our fields have recouped all their capital expenditure and there is not much expensive secondary recovery going on in Nigeria .
To make things even easier for us the stupid militants of the Niger Delta have just closed in about 5% of our so calked expensive production but the funny thing, the price of oil did not even change by 0.0000001 per cent so that is that for some cold realities .
The FG is doing what is right. We have to pally with India and China. India is now in a better position than China. They have an average income per capita of $1500 , China has now gone up to $7000. India has 1.something billion people as well. 300 million people are below the age of 25. Maybe 250 million people are going to be moving from lower class to middie class. That means they will be consuming a lot of energy driven goods - cars, electricity , food etc. . The Buhari government moved fast with meetings and bilateral agreements with Modi. He is also going to China in some days time for finance, energy , transportation and Defence talks. Since we booted the fake PhD holder from office, we have moved pieces on the chess board more astutely even without all the crude oil money that we had in the past.
The FG should continuing wrecking the lives of treasury looters and setting international traps for them and their looted funds . Nigeria will change for the better. SURELY.
Why waste this knowledge and information on somebody grossly In-equipped to handle, appreciate or decipher it?

That juvenile delinquent isn't worth this effort

PoliticsWe ‘ll Help You Fight Corruption, NPAN Tells FG by theV0ice(op): 1:47pm On Feb 05, 2016
The Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN), Thursday, reiterated its commitment to the fight against corruption in the country ,insisting that it had always been in the vanguard of the fight and that it was not ready to stop now. The assurance was given by the President of the Association, Mr. Nduka Obaigbena , while receiving the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji. Lai Mohammed , on a courtesy call on the Association at its Secretariat in Maryland , Lagos. ” We will help you fight corruption because it is antithetical to development” he stressed. On hand to receive the minister among others , were the Publisher of Vanguard newspapers, Mr. Sam Amuka, Mal. Ismaila Isa, both Life Patrons of the Association, former governor of Ogun State,Chief Segun Osoba, Mr. Ray Ekpu (both past Presidents of the Association) as well as Executive Council members and other members of the Association. Mr. Obaigbena who is also the Publisher of Thisday newspapers, in welcoming the new vista with which the government is pursuing its anti- corruption drive, noted that more mileage would be garnered and the campaign more enduring, if government fights corruption by building strong institutions.

To achieve greater result, he said it was imperative to first find the root cause of corruption, avoid arbitrariness and follow the rule of law . Also, there was a need to respect the doctrine of innocence under which an accuse is presumed innocent until proven guilty. It would be unjust and unfair to lump people together, and label everybody thieves, without separating the wheat from the chaff,he added. In his address, the minister sought the support and cooperation of the media owners, adding that it was not the intention of the government to intimidate anyone or group of persons. Goverment’s current drive he argued, was motivated by the higher ideal of bringing happiness to the greater number of the citizenry. This he said would remain an illusion without curing the corruption cancer that had eaten deep into the nation.

Mohammed drew a nexus between corruption and development, explaining that it would be difficult to develop infrastructure like roads, railway, schools, etc if government revenues are stolen Taking on the economy without first fighting corruption, he argued, would be an exercise in futility. He recalled his earlier pronouncement how the nation could be transformed into an eldorado, providing roads, schools, hospitals etc , if the funds stolen had been judiciously applied. For instance, he said the total amount Nigeria was seeking to borrow from the World Bank or the African Development Bank or others is $3.5 billion, adding that if only a few who had stolen from the nation’s revenues had returned a fraction or that the issue of the $20 billion had been resolved, the nation would not need to borrow.........

Science/TechnologyRe: Ajaokuta Steel: Time To Break The Deadly Conspiracy Surrounding by theV0ice: 6:47pm On Feb 01, 2016
GEJPosterity:
YES. As I said, the effects of our history are multi-generational and because we have such a morbid fear of history and the past, we do not want to have an honest conversation about it and examine why we are where we are. That is the only way to move forward. If you don't know where you are coming from, you cannot know where you are going. These character defects are not somehow embedded in the genetic code of Nigerians. They are IMPLANTED defects which have grown through centuries of direct and indirect torture, genocide, starvation and economic subjugation. You don't leave the "shadow of the horrid past" by saying so and pretending that you can somehow "get over" 400+ years of history on your own. You do not have that power. You get out of the shadow of the past by examining it honestly and in depth and analysing its impact on the present, before planning for how to change the future.

Blocking out the past is not a virtue at all. In fact it is extreme foolishness.
I will assume you believe deep down that there's no hope of redemption for the Nigerian? This is because if after the end of the Atlantic slave trade more than 200 years ago, we are still tied down by the effects today, how many more years do we need to achieve the part in bold?

If Germans were honest, they would not have left Germany to colonise land in West Africa (Togo) and call it part of German "Lebensraum". If the Germans from Bifinger Berger were intrinsically honest people, they would have declined the offer and left. After all my dad who was part of the system refused to take part in those civil service practises even though he missed out on huge payoffs and even promotions for not "playing ball". That is what honest people do when faced with dishonesty. Not carrying out fraud and then saying that it was Nigerians that "taught them how to be crooked."
The Germans owe us no apology. They came for business and saw a group of adults dumb enough to sell their patrimony for pittances.....they simply added what the mumus demanded to their original estimates and cashed in. If they were crooked, they would collect the money and disappear..... After all we can't do them Jack because the ogas who sold us out still carry about their slave mentality.

Why did your dad not partake in the show of shame? Was is that the slave masters missed your community?

You didn't read the part of my post where I said that women were raped in front of their families just to prove a point to the natives about hierarchy. Children were thrown to alligators to be eaten just because some people wanted Alligator skin. Imagine realising that the value of your child's life is not as much as that of the skin of a dead alligator.
Chinese men and Koreans saw their women taken from them to serve as comfort women to the Japanese yet we didn't see the Chinese and Koreans use this line as a defence for economic crimes against the state.

What would you say about black chiefs who exchanged their people for mirrors and bottles of ogogoro?

How are you comparing that to Ghandi seeing an offensive sign in a restaurant in England? Is that the same level or degree of dehumanisation? You yourself are guilty of trying to run away from history by equating two separate and completely different things. It would be very difficult and traumatising to examine your history scientifically and analyse the impact of what happened on our present reality, so you are taking the easy way out and blaming the victims for what was done to them. This is intellectually hollow and dare I say quite cowardly.
I think what is cowardly is selling your future to whites whom you claim raped your ancestors hundreds of years ago. What I think is intellectually hollow is holding unto the ghosts of hundreds of years ago to explain the greed that you used as an example in your first post.

Engaging with the truth of our history is not "making excuses", it is simply THE TRUTH.

And THE TRUTH is something that too many Nigerians are just not able to handle.
Maybe we should just give up and ask the whites to come colonise us the second time instead of engaging ourselves in honest discussions and telling ourselves the truth that we've made excuses for long enough time.

As an aside, do you know at independence, this nonsense wasn't that pronounced? Do you realize things got worse over the years?
Science/TechnologyRe: Ajaokuta Steel: Time To Break The Deadly Conspiracy Surrounding by theV0ice: 5:25pm On Feb 01, 2016
GEJPosterity:
The major thing you are leaving out is that the whites may have enslaved the Indians, but they did not consciously try to destroy Indian society and permanently damage the very mental integrity of the Indian. They merely came in and ruled those who were already ruling the Indians, so for the most part Indian society actually maintained its entire structural integrity.

With Africans and with West Africans in particular, the story was very different. Imagine giving birth to a baby and watching a white man from England take him or her from you and use him or her as live bait for an alligator because he wants the alligator skin. (This was a real and widespread practice btw). Imagine being whipped and forced to work for another man on your father's land knowing that you cannot help yourself and your people cannot help you. Nobody can save you. The only thing you can do is just pray to God and try to make it to tomorrow.

Day after day after day after day after day.

How will your mindset remain the same? Will you not become insane? Will you not start to direct your hatred of your oppressor inward after it dawns on you that you cannot defend yourself against him and he can do whatever he wants with you? He can rape your woman in front of you and your children and if you so much as look away he can put you to death right there on the spot. How will your children grow up?

Will they understand the value of pride in identity? Strength of character? Integrity? Courage? Long-sightedness and foresight?

No! All they will know is how to survive TODAY and how to be better than the other sorry negroes that look like them.

That is the slave orientation that was deliberately and systematically bred in us for more than 3 centuries. Your parents, their parents, their grandparents, the generation before them and the one before that were soaked and immersed in this toxic and hopeless slave culture created by white invaders.

So when you see these behaviours, rather than concluding that there is something genetically wrong with the African human, try to put it in context. No other people on earth have had their very humanity so brutally destroyed as West Africans, and two of the largest slave ports in West Africa were right here in Lagos (Ebute Metta and Badagry). Our history pervades our reality everyday and there is no running away from it.
So what then is the way out of this problem? Do we keep on living in the Shadow of that horrid past? How long will we rely on that excuse to explain away our wickedness to our own selves?

Consider the ogas in your earlier post reproduced below

After the tender, the 'Ogas' called the Germans aside and told them "See, that's not how we do things here. You can't present a bill this small and get a contract in Nigeria."

And to cut a long story short, more than 15 ogas had houses built for them or substantial cash kickbacks paid to them after JB re-tendered and came out with a winning bid of more than 15 times their initial estimate.

That was when JB decided to set up shop permanently in the autocidal sweetheart country known as Nigeria.
Is it still the effect of the slavery that made them so evil minded, greedy and devious?

We can see they even taught honest Germans how to be crooked.

My friend, Indians also suffered in the hands of Britons. I l read of a restaurant where Gandhi wished to enter in England and the sign above the door read "dogs and Indians not allowed"

That to me was terribly debasing yet the Indian rose above it. We should stop making excuses.

The Lagos-Badagry Expressway (JB's first major project in Nigeria) was a contract JB got after presenting the smallest, most professional quote of all the firms that tendered.

After the tender, the 'Ogas' called the Germans aside and told them "See, that's not how we do things here. You can't present a bill this small and get a contract in Nigeria."

This country's darkness did not begin today.
I have no reason to doubt your story and that's why i refuse to support the excuse of ''the whites are to blame''

A whiteman who refuses to play ball will not get anything in Nigeria. If the whites couldn't stop the Indians, why should they stop us?

Is it not a shame to us that the Halliburton directors who paid bribes to Nigerian officials are all in jail in the USA while the Nigerians who demanded for and collected the bribe are still walking free??

"Do the states that have taken the federal government to the Supreme Court and refused to save also include the PDP governors, who are in the majority? If so, then it is fatal: even governors of your own party, PDP, do not trust you to keep their money! Furthermore, did the governors also stop the federal government from saving part of its share? If you ran a surplus budget at the federal level, you would have had credibility to blame others or to say they did not listen to your advice.”
“The key point is that since you were running huge deficits yourself, it was also in your own interest to share the ECA. You did not show leadership or credibility, full stop.”

No one stopped GEJ from saving. GEJ himself never wished to save or rather couldn't dare save because he was spending and running deficits like it was going out of fashion. Prof Soludo said so and I think you should listen to him.

I told you about the Salary wage increase which you supported.

The government has no idea what they are up to.
Until you can prove Buhari is paying less than N18,000 minimum wage with oil @ $27/BBL than GEJ who sold oil @ over $100/BBL as admitted by you, then this point is not only mute but necessitates you give Buhari some credit.
