A lot has been written about Ojota and how Fashola and Tinubu “funded” the big movement. The truth is farther from that lie.Pastor Bakare and I met Fashola once during the protests where he appealed that we should not allow a breakdown of law and order so that the Federal Government would not declare an emergency in Lagos. We didn’t take a dime from him.We had no interaction with Tinubu in anyway. A Nigerian billionaire who lived abroad who offered to support the mvement was told by Pastor Bakare that we could afford to sponsor what we were doing. All we spent for the five days that shook the world was N7.5million and not one kobo of it came from any external source.

I'm glad Odumakin has set the records straight with this.

Yeah its a blessing for some, even in Nigeria. Only Chevron and Shell were affected plus the small indigenous companies that flow through them. Agip, Mobil, Total and other small companies like PPL are obviously continuing production and shipment.

So while Nigeria and some companies are crying, these lucky ones are making more money.

All the same I blame GEJ for not taking action. He should have ordered a completed revocation of all licenses issued to non-Niger Deltans and issued same to trust funds for and run/managed by the indigenes.
How strangers can lay claim to these oil blocks still remains an injustice that must be addressed.

It is not about having oil but rather what quantity of oil do you have? The SS states of Delta, bayelsa, rivers and akwa ibom still accounts for more than 95% of Nigeria's crude oil supply. The crude oil found in lagos and ondo combined is not even up to 20% of the quantity in akwa ibom alone

Bushman, try and read up on oil journals. Stop wasting your life hating and moaning on social media. Do you imagine that the day you open production from an oil well is the day you get to the maximum possible? Do you know how many more sites can/will be discovered in that area?

How many barrels did Nigeria start with in 1953 @ Oloibiri?

it is true that Lagos and the SW unsurp investments that would have gone to the Niger Delta if she was less volatile.

OBJ is the only SW to have ruled this country (Shonekan was there for 84 days so doesn't count). Are you telling me even the Hausa/Fulani have all along been controlled by Yoruba? Azikiwe partnered with the north in the first republic. Ekwueme was with them in the 2nd. Ebitu Ukiwe and Aikhomu were with IBB for his 8 years. GEJ was there for 8(2years as VP).

Were the SE/SS guys I named there lame ducks? Were they so spineless that they couldn't speak up for themselves and their people?

She is volatile because of bad leadership (federal to ward level) and an incompactible system of government.

Thank God you didn't exonerate your bad leaders at the state and local govt level. Maybe the avengers can step in and provide the leadership.

She can change for the better when she leaves a country where some other regions plunder her resources and wish her evil so they can keep plundering.

In that case, i hope your warriors continue the bombing, bunkering and burning so that your utopian country can materialise speedily.

Not fair. PH City is as safe as Lagos and Abuja. Violence happens everywhere but the media escalate the pains and outrages. That is why the Niger Delta should create as many media outfits as feasible to always preach our rich and inviting business clime and tell them that what happens in Warri doesn't affect the residents of other states and vice versa. Calabar in the Niger Delta is the safest city in the country.

Your own kith and kin celebrate this idiocy even on this forum and hype these hooligans and vandals as heroes. When you yourself celebrates these guys and their destructions, what do you want the press to do?

Here we go again. So the ''Yoruba mass media'' are responsible for the volatility in the Niger Delta? Who owns sahara reporters? Is it not Omoyele Sowere, an Arogbo-Ijaw from this same Niger Delta? What have they done to present the Niger Delta in a positive light? Dont bother answering, you can keep blaming the yoruba mass media

The issue in fact is that they've been celebrating these destructive 'milestones'. I hope they never stop.

This destruction must continue to its finality. Asari did his and built a university in Cotonou becoming a Muslim as bonus. Tompolo did his and sold community land, pocketing N13B in the process. Ateke Tom did his and now has a private zoo with 2 lions in okrika. Pls let this Angibo guy do his own o.....he might make enough to buy of the Burj Arab from the Emirati.

The Yorubas controlling the media are ones doing this and it is deliberate.

Is it the Yoruba that have been opening threads up and down to praise the 'warriors' blowing up pipelines and setting devastating fires to your environment?

The aim is to give investors the impression that only the SW is okay for investment.

When the Yoruba tell you its idiotic to burn down your father's house because you're angry with a visitor, what have you or your comrades being telling them?

The same way they quickly turn any religious crises to Igbo vs hausa to save the necks of their people.

Are you no longer angling for a fight? Are you getting scared of confrontation?

I am Igbo and we want rapid development for Niger Delta.

You better blow up the Niger bridge to gain the sort of attention you want for the avengers. Its too early to start seeking development. Destroy first like the avengers, then we'll talk about rebuilding like the mumu boko haram people.

Just tell me why after several years of drilling oil from the Niger Delta there is no viable seaport in the region?

The ND people have to wait for refined products to land in Lagos.

Imagine!

Making me wonder why GEJ spent 2.5years as VP, 5.5years as President, sold oil at record prices for 3 years, yet couldn't mould a single block to start the project.

Was he bewitched?

Meanwhile, it shall never be well with whoever will ask the hooligans to stop bombing. They must continue till they destroy everything.

Its just unfortunate that the akwa ibom people are too wise on issues like this. I hope they too can join the idiocy and blow Eket and Mobil away into oblivion. That way the whole ND will speak in unison.

u know what I stop blaming people for their inactions n wrong actions they take cos most times it could turn around n be a blessing in disguise to someone.

as for pib, it is duties of the legislature to do justice to it, we hv so many versions of it already, diezani did her best to see n pressure the nass to pass it but vested interest n northern elements who see passage of pib as knocking the north off oil industry.
intelligent minds know the politics being played with the pib, is it only pib u see? how abt common constitution ammendment embarked since 1999? 4 sessions have come n gone not one leaf has been ammended.

executive wont do the job of legislature. putting pressure on them means u need to pacify them n we all know the era of ghana must go baggage stopped in the time of one crook who wanted third term.

So you and I should join hands together and do whatever we can to ensure this NASS passes the PIB. No magic will get our oil industry functioning properly again without the PIB and it'll favour the south more than the north once the industry becomes truly independent.

Do you think they can pay when govt is still regulating the price of refined products? Well, since Dr. Ibe Kachukwu says the downstream will be fully deregulated in another 12months, we will wait till then to compare notes.

Actually, the FG is proposing to Chevron to take over Warri Refinery; Agip to go with Port Harcourt Refinery and Total to take Kaduna Refinery. Of these 3, WRPC is the most viable (consider this as an inside info wink ); but....let's wait and see for another 12months
