They are yet to comprehend what will confront them. For every rivers money and resources wike spend, APC has far much more now aided the more with NDDC resources. For every weapon and thugs they deploy, APC is recruiting hers also to be aided by security forces. From what I have noticed on ground these past 48 hrs, I am not expecting any free and fair election in rivers. It can never happen. The party with so much clout will win while the looser will go back to court. But Rivers people deserve an atmosphere that will encourage free, fair and safe elections. I don tire of the brigandage that goes on display in the name of elections. There are enough security challenges in the state as it is. Na God save me from the unsuccessful armed robbery on a bullion van at Ada George/Agip junction today. Even if wike will win, let the people have the opportunity to elect whom they truly want. |

OLADD: Don't worry, 2019 is around the corner. Past corruption allegations will be a child's play when compared to what APC and Buhari will unleash on Nigeria. If you think the money spent on his campaigns was from the moon, you will soon know the reality when his corrupt backers begin to ask for their Return on Investment. The REMITA/TSA fraud is a tip of the iceberg. @the bold. What exactly is the REMITA/TSA fraud? Is it the fact that the GEJ govt signed the deal in 2012? Or the fact that the chairman of the company, Christopher Kolade, was also GEJ's SURE-P chairman? Or the fact that a director of the company, Dr Ernest Ndukwe, was GEJ's NCC vice chairman? Or the fact that CBN, SYSTEMSPECS and commercial banks all shared the 1% charge? Or the fact that a Nigerian company deserves to be paid for developing a platform to help us save money? What exactly is the fraud you're obsessed about? Wont you beg Dasuki to confess that he bought PMB a private jet from the armsgate so you can have something big to rejoice about? I hope another govt comes to probe PMB's govt too so that eventually the fear of looting will become ingrained in the minds of the crooks parading as leaders |

Politics › Wike Hails Minister Of Transportation For Flagging Off Portharcourt-Aba Railway by theV0ice(op): 5:57pm On Dec 16, 2015 |
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has commended the Federal Government for continuing with the revival of the railway transport system started by the previous administration.
In an address during the flag of Aba- Port Harcourt railway line in Port Harcourt by the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi on Wednesday Governor Wike said that rail mass transit will enhance the durability of Nigerian roads under pressure due to excess vehicular movement. Represented by the Permanent Secretary Rivers State Ministry of Transport, Mrs. Stella Ebere Wigwe, Governor Wike assured that he will always support the Federal Government in the execution of development projects. Governor Wike who prayed that the Federal Government will soon complete and commission the rehabilitation of the remaining segments around the country, said rail transport is a viable system of transportation to invest upon. The Rivers State Governor who remarked that rail transportation is an affordable , safe, and fast means of moving bulky goods , will also provide jobs for the teeming population of unemployed Nigerians and help reduce pressure on our roads. In his address , at the flag-off ceremony which held at the Port Harcourt Railway Station, the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi said that political party affiliation had no place in infrastructural development.
“ There is no party in development, just as we say the Naira has no colour. There is no PDP no APC." The Minister said that the event was part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts and commitments to provide safe and affordable means of mass transportation in Nigeria. According to him: “ The Nigerian Railway Corporation has completed the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt –Aba rail line B segment of the narrow gauge Eastern rail line from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri and the line is ready for commissioning and commencement of operations.” The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Railway Corporation ,Engr. Adeseyi Sijuwade, said that the Aba – Port Harcourt Mass Transit Service was set up to facilitate business transactions between the Araria International Market in Aba and the Oil Mills , Mile 1 and Diobu markets in PorHarcourt.
He also said that the Mass Transit Train Service will reduce congestion on the Aba- Port Harcourt Express road. The Chairman Senate Committee on Land Transport, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, described the service as a signpost of seriousness of the Federal government to reinvigorate the railway systems in the country. http://www.puoreports.com/2015/12/wike-hails-minister-of-transportation.html |

jayriginal: Because Nigerians want quick and unrealistic results, politicians you support give you money on election day, give you rice and superficial things during campaigns and you chant their praises to the heavens.
If anyone wants to thoroughly clean a dirty house, furniture must be moved aside and the house might be inhabitable for a period. Same goes with renovation. You can be sure that if Jona was in charge today things would be much worse. There's only so much abuse an economy can take. Plus in light of recent revelations, the moral thing for Jona supporters is to be quiet.
More than half of Buharis supporters today clamoured for Jona to take over from Turai resulting in the infamous doctrine of necessity. They even gave him a large period of grace to perform and only attacked him when it was crystal clear that he was as clueless as they come.
By contrast, Buhari has been criticized and vilified from day one. I mean even after he won and was yet to resume, people were praying for his downfall. What kind of people are you?
Listen by virtue of winning a dominating party, Buhari has brought the biggest catalyst of change, assuming that's the only thing he ever does. You don't like him, take another shot in 2019. That's change right there. Exactly. How do you repair a faulty house foundation without the occupants experiencing discomfort? This is aside the discomfort inherent in staying put in such a house? Instead what do we find? Even before the man took over, the prayer had been and still is his failure and by extension the country's failure. You're 100% right with the bolded. Those who championed his ascension to the throne via doctrine of necessity gave him support for at least 2 years. |

kaboninc: Na wa oh....
We just get unnecessarily sentimental and distort facts. We will only realize the consequences of our actions after we must have killed a fellow for the very wrong reason.
The reason for the non-availability of USD was never because $47m was "withdrawn" from the CBN on the "orders" of the NSA. We are always quick to cast aspersion on the previous administration while we forget the source of funding for the APC Presidential Campaign.
There were no "seperate" "#10B" and "$47m". Both are the same, just equivalents of the other.
This is what happens when we dance to the music...I had earlier warned you about.
This is another of your statement:
Haba...... I know you really wish to defend GEJ but it isn't my fault he's making it very difficult or you now have an explanation why the office of the NSA should be the one paying mobilisation fees of N100M to regional campaign coordinators? I hope you know the case against the NSA is in excess of $2B and N600B? Do you also think NOI is out for revenge by providing proof that the NSA 'borrowed' $322M and £5.5M from the Abacha loot? Do you have a copy of the credit note he used in paying it back to her the federation account? GEJ sold oil for a good part of his presidency @ over $100/barrel. Abacha sold oil for a good part of his headship @ less than $15/barrel. Whom do you think had more yams for his goats to play and do whatever they liked with? Do I need to emphasize to you that Abacha even sold far less number of barrels per day than GEJ? Pls provide details of Buhari campaign funding so I can lynch him with you. |

AMBIVERT:
For reasons very personal to me, I decided to stop positive affirmation of any individual in this section. If I have any positive opinion about anyone, I stomach it and pass it away at the loo. But you have earned it, so here goes... Hmmmm.....I'm honoured by your kind words. There are folks on both sides of the divide whose fanaticism will never allow them admit they are wrong on some points. It's not limited to those who chant Sai Buhari. Now Let's go back to fighting, Shall We?
Mister (Since you're not Mr Man and Young Man), if you notice, I did not bother quoting all your GEJ tantrums. This thread is not about GEJ, it is about APC and the way forward. We agree they have a lot on their plate. The former administration didn't quite perform up to expected expectation, that's why change was voted in.
If you follow my comments on here, you'll notice that I admitted that my preference for Jonathan was more personal cum emotional/ideological than informed/logical. The reason is because, from the get go, I never quite saw Buhari or GEJ as the solution to Nigeria's problems. It was during post 2015 elections that I developed this respect and loyalty towards GEJ, mainly due to his utterances which he backed up with action.
On the whole saga/scandal...I have made my position known in another forum where I participate actively too. I refused posting here because of the crass insensitivity and hypocrisy of the Sai Chanters. If you saw it, you'd be shocked and eat this word of yours >>>"You guys, especially you, have your minds made up and are only too happy to see things go worse. "
I kinda feel sad admitting that GEJ was politically weak and non assertive. But it is what it is and we have to move on. God forbid! God forbid that I wish this nation ill. God forbid that I'm happy at the turn of events. Perchance, is that how you would have felt if GEJ had won? Would you have wished that Nigeria goes up in shambles just to prove that you were right all along for disbelieving in GEJ?
Genlteman, I have been in Nigeria for a while. The crux here is that, even before elections...things weren't this bad (you and I know)...
So what went wrong? What is APC and Buhari doing? How are they going about it? What sectors are being affected? There's a need to know. Yeah let's start a-fighting I stopped participating on here after the elections until very recently because i knew that, still smarting from the pain of losing the elections, most pro GEJ folks will cease every opportunity to vent their frustrations and anger at everything Buhari does or does not do irrespective of the absurdity of it and i believed they were entitled to their dance in the arena. I wasn't going to interfere with their pleasure However, no matter your reservations, you will be lying if you say that this country did not experience a change in at least the first 2 months of this govt. Electricity was better supplied, Petrol not only came back to N87, you became sure of their metering. In fact Bismark Rewane said for the first time, he entered govt agencies to transact business and nobody asked him for bribe. Even a natural buhari critic like Olisa Agbakoba in his interview on Channels about Buhari's 100 days asked the question: What happened? His answer: Nigerians keyed into the body language of their leader. I blame Buhari for allowing the momentum to ebb but it was to be expected that the man was now in as a political leader and politicians will always be politicians hence much time was devoted to playing politics e.g #SARAKIGATE. Those who are familiar with my posts on NL know what my mantra was "We've been ruled by a devil from an evil coven for 16 yrs, i believe it's time to try out another devil from another coven". I never saw Buhari as a savior neither did i see him as a miracle worker or someone with a great economic prowess. I simply saw a man who was not bogged down by the materialism that rules the life of the average Nigerian and a man 'wicked' enough to not allow his subordinates dip their hands into the till anyhow. That perception hasn't changedThank God you're not one of those who prays everyday for Nigeria to fail so they can have an opportunity to tell me that ''I told you so'' but i expect you to admit such folks exists in large numbers among your fellow pro GEJ people. You see them opening threads after threads to celebrate calamities like it adds some naira to their bank balances. I never wished GEJ to fail. Having grown up in the ND and living all my life there, i felt a kindred spirit with GEJ. Me and my colleagues even bragged that finally we have an 'Etibo' wearing occupant of Aso Rock but it was a disaster. I'm sure you watched/read Wole Soyinka's interview on Channels book club last week on this issue? I share his opinion 100%. Of course some things are worse than they were when Buhari took over but so has the price of oil been and it's meant to account for like 85% of the budget. the 2015 budget was predicated on $65/Barrel and i trust you know how much it is now coupled with the fact that we have numerous unsold cargoes on the sea. Will you ascribe that problem to Buhari's incompetence? contracts of over N2Trillion were awarded by GEJ govt with budget provision of N137B for infrastructure and you expect construction companies not to throw out workers? Dear, the man was fighting against a combination of the devil and the deep blue sea. Like i told Coli in my response to her, I wish things can go faster. i wish we can have a drastic change but honestly speaking, with the realities of the state the previous govt left us, i would have to be content and wait till Buhari rolls out his own budget and plans next year. I don't know if i addressed your concerns but i would wish i did. |
